I bought a beautiful Birthday cake for my twin grandbabies who turned two. I found a photo of the cake and Irene's Bakery duplicated it, and even added some additional detail. I received excellent customer service from each person I talked to. Half of the payment was due when I placed the order and balance when the cake was picked up. I hate to say this, but the cake was one of the worst tasting cakes I've ever had. First of all it was hard to cut through the heavy dry layers. The cake was dense, flavorless and I was totally embarrassed. You know it's bad when two year olds won't eat it!! I just had to write an update. I ordered a 1st birthday cake from Irene and it was another wonderful experience. She created a beautiful cake with matching cupcakes, and even gave us a free smash cake so little Genevieve could dive in to her own personal cake. Due to a remodel and us having no refrigeration, I was going to need to pick up the cake at a time when the bakery was normally closed. I paid in advance. Event got cancelled so I called 10 days in advance to cancel. Zero money back!! None! I would not have paid up front had I known she wouldn't have given me any of the money back. I was killing time and came in here to see what they had in the case. There were a few cupcakes on tap and also some cake balls which looked awfully scrumptious. It was kind of a cheat day so I said what the heck...and chose a key lime cake ball to enjoy with my lavender Americano coffee from next door. Heavenly! I would definitely come back and get more of these for a party or something. The cake was super moist too. I gave them pictures of what I expected, but then I was told by Irene's husband, I've forgotten his name that he misinterpreted. He offered a $50 refund, which was laughable. If you decide on them, please make sure you pay by credit card because when they deliver your terrible, ugly cake you can dispute the charge later. Oh.. yeah, when the husband came to deliver the cakes he forgot the cake stand and told me I didn't pay for it, he had to go back & get the cake stand that I did pay for. As much as I wanted to like this bakery, we had a few unsolved problems with the owner. I ordered a cake for my sister's engagement party and everything was fine until I picked it up. My sister's name was spelled wrong even though my text message was clear. Ok--no problem. Irene fixed it but it was a little smeared. I specifically ordered white chocolate raspberry since the bride requested this. The guests were not happy at all so I decided to taste it. It tasted like old cinnamon... or something of the like. I couldn't even tell what it was! The fact that guests were commenting on the flavor is beyond embarrassing for hosts throwing a huge party. The following week my mom gave Irene a call but she wasn't very helpful. She asked why we didn't bring the cake back to her. Um...? Who would think to save the cake (after a night of partying) to take it back all the way to Lewisville from Plano? She wouldn't budge. So I nicely texted Irene to see if she was willing to refund even half of the amount. That was not an option. Writing a review would ruin her business apparently... However, businesses pick back up. An engagement party is a one time thing and we truly wanted it to be special for my sister. I researched so much when I wanted to choose a bakery. The flavor was 100% NOT right. It is SO embarrassing when a guest says, "Can I be honest? This tastes really bad." How unfortunate to spend so much on that cake. read more

Excellent! I brought in a picture of a pumpkin style shower cake I wanted for for my daughter's baby shower. It was ready on time and much improved from my picture! The leaves were much better done, the stem design better, the greens and pink colors prettier. The price was reasonable and it tasted great! We got the almond flavor- very tasty.
