I want to express my gratitude towards PCS HQ, for really delivering on their product and service. My experience with them was outstanding! Charles and Jacob are so helpful and knowledgeable. My iPhone XS Max was acting erratically. It started not responding to my touch commands until it finally was completely unresponsive! I tried everything but in the end I couldn't even shut it down since I couldn't slide to power off. I panicked because I had not recently done a back up so was I afraid I would lose all of my recent pictures if I just took my phone into the Apple store to trade in. Well due to COVID none of the Apple stores in OC or LA were open anyway. Only in SD so I was planning on driving down. Before I made the trip I sent them a message here via Yelp and Charles replied right away with a reliable quote. I took it in as soon as hey opened and Jacob started to work on it right in front of me. Turned out it needed a new digitizer. They gave me 2 options: after market one (cheaper) or a refurbished OEM. I went with the latter it was a bit more expensive but worth it because it's an original Apple part. Overall I am very pleased with their professionalism, expertise, and level of customer service. Charlie and Jacob are the real deal and know what they are doing. They will troubleshoot in front of you and have all the top notch equipment they need to get the job done right. There is light coming out of the edges of my phone now, because PCS HQ had installed a new screen for over $70 and did not care to ensure the work is complete. The owner was very professional, upfront, punctual, and quick to respond with the estimates given the damage of the iPad. There was no color bleed and the digitizer was still 100% functional. I set up an appointment six days after filling out a short and user-friendly answer form. The location and parking to PCS HQ is easy to find. The shop is clean and the shop technicians were all wearing masks correctly. There are stickers on the floor to pinpoint where to stand and chairs are available for the waiting time. Although there was a customer in front, the technician prioritized my visit since I arrived at my appointed time but was respectful with informing the customer that the assistance would be provided in a short time. Kids...! My son threw my iPhone 11 Pro into our pool's baja shelf and we picked it up after a few seconds. Remembering that the phone was "water resistant", I didn't think that anything was going to happen to it. For 12 hours, nothing happened but when I woke up the next morning, there was a green line on my screen and a few hours after that, the phone won't even boot up. I let it dry for 2 days and the phone was back on but the green line was still there. I found PCS on Yelp, and due to the great reviews and proximity to my house, I decided to go here versus the repair shop at the Brea mall. I assumed this would be a multiple day fix but the gentlemen in the shop told me to wait, and 15 minutes later, he replaced my screen and everything is working like new. I didn't have him replace it with the Apple certified screen, I got a 3rd party with a lower resolution but that's fine with me. My family and I were referred to come to this repair store since we were in the area. RED FLAG MOMENT: I called before coming in and spoke w/ Jason. The conversation was kind of rushed and I was made to feel like he needed to hurry and get off the phone because he was busy. I would have just understood him saying, "We can speak further when you come in." That would have been so much better. Shouldn't have went there after that convo, but... Few mins after the phone call... Lo and behold, I turn into the lot; it was literally a ghost town! When we got inside of the establishment there was literally ONLY ONE CUSTOMER. I was baffled at the thought of being rushed off the phone by Jason prior to getting inside the shop; yet there was literally little to NOTHING happening inside their business. *shade intended* While Jason was sooooo "busy" w/ the ONE customer they did have before we arrived; an older guy came out (I guess he's the dad). He took a look at the device we were trying to get fixed and told us the prices. However, upon trying to explain to him that the prices were too much, that we probably would be better off getting another phone for the amount he was trying to charge... THIS GUY literally says, "I don't need to know your story, I'm just telling you the situation with this phone." I kinda gasped and we all looked at each other feeling shocked and appalled. Like, what are you talking about!? Your prices are HIGH... so we definitely don't know what he meant by saying what he said. SLICK MOUTH... just plain RUDE! Like, from a customer service standpoint these guys just LACK in that area. You're made to feel like, either you get the service done at the price their telling you or you can get TF out! We even were thinking of buying a phone from him but when he started giving us even higher prices like $300+ dollars for an old version iPhone we questioned that. The screen on my iphone died last week - Verizon got a new one shipped to me, but I couldn't back up my old phone to restore my new phone. Charlie talked me through what he could do on the phone, got me in right away and within a few minutes, he had a temporary screen hooked up to my old phone and was backing it up to my computer. After the old phone was backed up to my computer, he walked me through restoring my new phone, including installing updates and ensuring all my settings were correct. Short version--I couldn't be more pleased with the service and care that the staff of PCS HQ took in repairing my phone. Long version--I shattered the screen on my Samsung S3. The first place I went to offered to fix the phone for me for $50, but payment had to be made in cash--no thank you. The second place never returned my call. The third place I called was PCS HQ. Charlie took my phone call immediately. I explained the issue and Charlie told me that the time needed to replace the screen could take up to an hour and a half, depending on the damage. After I got off of work, I went to PCS HQ. First impressions matter--the shop itself was clean and well lit, with what looked to be a couple hundred "antique" mobile phones of various makes and models neatly hung on the wall. There were several people ahead of me with various mobile phone problems. Charlie and the other technician were very courteous and efficient in addressing their issues. When it was my turn, Charlie explained the repair process, gave me the estimated time to replace the screen and asked me to come back to the store in about an hour. I returned to the store about 45 minutes later. Charlie had just finished replacing the screen for my phone. As an added bonus, a screen protector is given for a yelp check-in. Charlie put it on for me, saving me the frustration of doing it myself. I couldn't be more pleased with how quickly PCS HQ repaired and how well they treat their customers. I've contacted many phone repair stores and to my surprise they told me that they were not able to fix the s9+ because it was too advanced for them and they didn't know how. I thought I had to spend another $1000 on a brand new s9+. I picked my phone out of the water and I clicked the power button.. my phone was still in perfect working condition! My SIM card was still detected, my volume and Bixby button worked and my speakers and microphone functioned perfectly!
