Very easy to book! They showed up timely, were very professional and mindful of the COVID-19 masking requirements. The only shocker was the length of time it took to move 3 blocks. We purposely moved 90% of the boxes to make the move go quicker but that didn't happen. Lexi was very professional and explained that because I had several items that needed to be disassembled and then reassembled that's what took so long. My only advice is to get an idea of the cost in the beginning so that you are not shocked when the clock is ticking. I've used Iron-Back 3 times and the last 2 times were great and this last time was fine. I think what really made the difference was Lexi (the front desk coordinator) - she was amazing! A three man crew showed up ready to go. We quickly realized that we had too many items to fit in the truck provided. The manager called and got another two man Crew within the next couple hours to help the crew and provide another truck. This also avoided having to make two trips. (even with the awful rain we were having) The crew worked very efficiently and were able to organize everything into my storage unit. She had the date and time reserved and sent me the contract in a matter of minutes. If you have moved in your lifetime, then you have had a bad move experience at some point. We had contacted Iron Back Movers on Yelp due to all their stellar reviews. Lexi was prompt with all of her communication to us, along with being very clear and concise on what we could expect. She was flexible with scheduling as I had to change our appointment last minute due to my building's freight elevator reservation system. Our movers Javier and Miguel came on time and worked hard for five hours to get us moved from our high rise condo to our new home. They were meticulous in wrapping all of our furniture and paintings. They packed everything in an organized and efficient way. Most of our living space is on the second floor in our new home. Javier and Miguel moved boxes and boxes up the stairs with ease. They took care while moving everything as to not cause any damage to our walls or belongings. We can't imagine moving everything ourselves. You never know how much stuff you have until you have to move! They saved us from a ton of stress. After all, moving is one of the most stressful things. They were worth every penny! 7/24/20 Hired this company for a local move. My arrival window was 12 to 5pm. The 3 man crew arrived at 4:54 pm. Surprisingly they loaded my items in 45 minutes (smile) The unload was longer as I'm sure they were tired from a busy day. The crew was friendly and allowed me to help move a few items and offered me a soda. I decided on three stars because of the arrival time ( I'm fully aware of driving from one part of Houston to the other is time consuming). Sadly I am missing 2 boxes and I didn't receive a reply from the staff as to it's location The fee was acceptable although higher than other companies. read more

I must start off by saying at first I thought most of these ratings were fake because I'm a skeptic. When I called Abner about my move I warned him that my furniture was extremely heavy and I'm moving from the 3rd floor. He assured me there would be no issues.Jairo, Daniel & some other guy arrived. They were there between 8-10 as Abner stated on the day I made my reservation. I've been nervous about this move because I'm no Millionaire (Not yet anyway) and I'm sure these guys have moved some very expensive things. My bedroom set was my heart attack and I followed them around from the minuteJairo and Daniel wrapped it all the way to the truck. Daniel was very confident and he didn't just talk his actions were reflective of everything he promised me.Jairo just smiles and talks a little. I was impressed. That dresser is a beast! (Heavy) They handled things like true professionals but most of all there were no damages!!!!!! There are no words, Daniel and Jairo were dripping with sweat. I truly believe their backs are made of iron. I moved from a 3rd floor apartment to another 3rd floor apartment. It took the guys 2 1/2 hours. They mostly moved furniture because I always get my boxes moved beforehand. Next time I'm convinced I'll let them move the boxes as well. They handled everything like a champ. Very respectful. "Yes Mam, No Mam". Now the other guy, I'm not sure what his name was but Abner can keep him! He was definitely a slacker, moving very slow like a turtle. Hope he wasn't looking for a tip at the end because he damn sure didn't deserve it. He did the bare minimum the entire time Daniel and Jairo were busting their asses! I had to tell him to pick something up, and when Daniel gave him the nightstand he acted like it was going to kill him to carry it. Their office manager/scheduler was spectacular and accommodating, but the actual movers REALLY took their time (driving up the price - about six hours to move very few boxes (perhaps 20 in total, all boxed up and ready to go) and pieces of furniture (a bed, a desk , sofa and chest of drawers)) from a one-bedroom apartment to a two-bedroom place, less than four miles away) and damaged practically everything I own. So, over $800 for that. Honestly, I kept hearing from my friends that once you hire movers, you will never go back, but this was so much worse. I could have gotten this done in half the time with two friends and a pick up (and saved about $500). I would never hire this company again or recommend them to anyone. read more

Do not request 3 movers. I've moved the same load every two years, at least 4 times & had 3 men to move. I've always used another vendor, but thought I'd give Iron Back a try. It took almost double the amount of time because the 3rd guy was an elderly guy that could barely pull a dolly up the stairs. All my other moves were never more than 3.5hrs & about $450. This is the most amazing experience I have ever had in a moving company. I had originally scheduled them to come between 8am & 10am, but then had a family emergency and texted the owner at like 1:45 am and let him know I knew I wouldn't be back to my place at the time I had originally scheduled them, he completely understood my situation & immediately gave me 3 other options of them being able to show up at 2 other times that same day or even come the following day in the morning... I was so put at ease that he was so willing to be so flexible and accommodating. And then my experience just got even better from their. Since I had a serious family emergency it prevented me from finishing a 100% of getting my packing complete and thought I could complete the rest of my packing while they loaded the 85% I had completed. Those guys loaded up my 3 bedroom apartment so fast they got done before I had completed my last 15% of packing I thought I would for sure have done & ready for them to finish loading, but when I had not been able to get completed before they got done the guys just jumped right in without me even asking them if they would be willing to help me finish packing up they just jumped right in and got it done with me. These 4 guys were absolutely killing it and they said they had already moved 2 other families that day & to have still have the amount of energy they had to move so quickly on my move was nothing short of miraculous. They were very careful with my items and worked with a sense of energy to save me on time & money. I cannot say enough good things about the owners ability to work around my family emergency and so quickly provided me 3 other options in times or even the next day. This is the most well oiled machine they've got going on, and they will have no problem continuing to grow their buisness exponentially by continuing to treat their customers with the same level of kindness, and extremely very fair pricing in comparison to all the other movers I received quotes on. Alfredo and Maritza were great! So talented. I had other movers who couldn't move a large desk and love seat down a narrow hallway to study. Alfredo and crew got it down the hall in seconds in the first try. Alfredo did it was such ease and no scratches on walls too. Maritza had to do complicated task of taking apart of expensive reclining chair in order to bring it down narrow stairwell to the upstairs. They did a wonderful job. They took instructions with a smile and had plenty of energy. They had a cloth carpet to make ramp less slick and protected the new wood floors too. Our upload was little tough because they had to unload at house and then unload at storage unit. Few items inside had to be loaded for storage unit and organized the truck so they were prepared to unload rest of items not for house to storage unit. Definitely will hire them again! read more

UPDATE MAY 31, 2019. AGAIN, Iron-Back Movers comes through in a clutch. My mother was hospitalized in Miami last week and I needed to move my moving date up to the next day so I could get out of town before she passed away. They got a crew out there and moved me in FIVE HOURS, blanketing and shrink-wrapping all of my furniture as they went. They were professional and courteous. I have moved about 15 times in my life. This was the best move EVER. I can't say enough good things about them. Despite everything else going on, these guys made my move easy and painless. They aren't expensive at all. Best experience I've ever had with movers. We've moved countless times and Iron-Back Movers was definitely the most efficient movers I've ever used. They were careful, strong and quick.
