Stumbled across this restaurant at our hotel and was excited to have some ramen. Very underwhelmed.... Walk in, order, and take number to a table of your choice. We ordered 2 miso ramens, edamame, and a hot sake. The ramen broth was Luke warm, too salty, and essentially no flavor. It had what looked like a spinach salad for vegetables. This is place was awful. The food took forever even though it wasn't that busy. They charged $30 for a dried up piece of fried pork cutlet with some rice on the side, and the noodles look like it came out of a Costco box (the Costco ones taste better, btw). Avoid at all costs. read more

Great to see a Japanese ramen place opened here at the resort. Limited selections of noodles and appetizers, but good enough for adults and kids. Very tasty food but portion is on the small side and Price is on the high side. Service is great, everyone so friendly. read more

We had heard the restaurant changed hands so gave it a try despite old reviews. My food was wonderful. Had miso vegetable noodle soup. Son was very happy with kids noodle soup and pork won tons. Ate every bit. So glad we tried it. *Much* better food than Sandy's Pub which has more of a crowd. read more

This was one of the top 2 worst meals I have ever had. The pork ramen had a strong fishy odor and wontons came out refrigerator cold. The flavor of the ramen was so bad that I only ate a quarter of it and only that much because I was starving. The pork buns also came out cold and had weird sauce mixed in with it. The chicken karage was just gross - the chicken was grizzly and it was inedible. All the food made my mouth numb. The pricing is extremely high given the poor quality of the food - frankly the food is still basically inedible even if free. I wouldn't recommend at all. read more

I really wanted to like this place and I wanted to come back here during my visit. Unfortunately I will never be coming back here. It was my far the worst ramen I've ever had. They literally have no idea what ramen is and over charge you for instant crap ramen. The broth was watery and had zero flavor. There were six of us and we all had to add tons of chili sauce and soy sauce to make it edible. They screwed up the appetizers as well. Pork wontons were falling apart and chicken karaage was an over priced chicken nugget. Chasu pork in the ramen was chewy like beef jerky and very difficult to eat. Avoid this place. It's beyond horrible. Only good thing was the service. Servers were very attentive. Too bad they were serving horrible food. read more

I really wanted to like this place because we stay at the hotel at times. The miso ramen was a clump of noodles floating in watery lukewarm soup. In my opinion, a packet of miso instant noodles tastes better than the noodles here. The staff was diligent and attempted to provide good service. They were all still in training mode so the food was brought out as quickly as possible with a spoon but no fork or chopsticks. The kitchen front and back end staff seemed like they were really trying to provide service thus the extra star tried but the food needs help. The karage chicken a small plate of chicken nuggets (about 6 pieces) was nothing special but at least it wasn't cold. Thank goodness the sauces were on the side because nobody liked it as is. I hope this restaurant improves before the ski season starts getting crowded. read more

While staying at resort , we ordered take out for kara age (fried chicken) and pork dumplings. For $14, 3 small, nugget-sized chicken pieces and another $13 for 6 pieces of small, rubbery dumplings plus a service charge. I know resort foods can be overpriced but this was another level. Not sure if dine-in is better, but take out is a bad idea. read more

I hate to disapprove of businesses, but this was THE WORST ramen I have ever had. If I could give zero stars, I would. My son ordered the pork ramen and his noodles were stuck in a frozen block. When I talked to the manager, she became very defensive and began to raise her pitch of tone. My recommendation is to go to the nearest grocery store and buy cup noodles. Worst $200 spent. read more

I feel a bit gross after eating that. Looks good.. but packaged ramen tastes better. Broth was really watery? Pork wasn't really flavorful. The best thing was the egg, but the egg was overcooked too. Ambience looks nice. Waitstaff was nice, but service was a bit weird since ramen came for one person in our party, and didn't come for everyone else until 8 min later. I wouldn't come back here. I also saw the staff using a microwave to heat some food in the back, but I'm not exactly sure what. read more

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Iron Road Noodle House especially with their ramen noodles. The noodles were "cooked fresh" according to the manager, they clearly weren't as we found clumps of cold frozen noodles within the flavorless broth, and the overall dish left much to be desired. I would highly discourage coming here and I won't be returning for another disgusting underwhelming meal. I would suggest you buy ramen noodles in the grocery store they will be 100 times better. Staff got very defensive when confronted, overall terrible service. Don't waste your time here and go to Sandy's, trust me when I say it's worth the wait. read more

I was sorry to see the Italian restaurant gone. It was quite good, especially the dinner selections. My expectations for this place was low. This is listed as a Japanese noodle house but serves wontons, wonton noodles, and chasiu buns which are not Japanese. The tonkatsu noodles were a total disappointment. I ordered tonkatsu ramen, the server announced it as miso ramen when she brought it. The manager came and proclaimed it to be the tonkatsu and not the miso ramen. However the broth was clear (tonkatsu broth is supposed to be rich and creamy, not clear), but did not taste like miso either; it was like diluted soy sauce, but still without the fullness of flavor of soyu broth. There was not enough broth to cover the noodles and it was lukewarm. There was only a single very thinly sliced bland piece of pork that did not taste like chasiu at all as it was so tasteless. I had ordered spinach but it was a handful of uncooked spinach placed on top of the bowl -- this is supposed to be ramen, not a salad! To be fair the noodles were actually right on for ramen as far as thickness, color, consistency. However without a good broth, the noodles were just not as good as they could have been. The chicken karaage was disappointing as well -- small pieces, not enough batter, no taste. In terms of portion size both the ramen and karaage were really only a half to two thirds of the size I expected and for $4 more than you can get at any average ramen place anywhere from the Bay Area to Reno. To compare this ramen to the one from the vending machine in Oly House, the noodles here were better, however everything else was better out of the vending machine. Honestly, I am giving this a 2 star as somebody who is critical and expecting authenticity. If I were just cold and hungry from skiing, take off my skis and walk only a few steps to get there for ski-in/ski-out food, I would give it 3 to 4 stars. read more
