I've been back to Iron Works several times since my first review and each time has been perfect, even the takeout! My most recent visit was an evening reservation for four on Halloween and everyone really enjoyed everything about their dinner. We were hoping for some fun Halloween antics, maybe servers wearing fun masks, a spooky special/cocktail, or maybe even a complimentary treat. No luck on the festivities, but Iron Works' dishes were phenomenal as expected, the staff were professional and attentive, and my friends were happy with my recommendation... and that's the most important thing to me. read more

I came by since this was connected to the hotel I'm staying at for work. I was greeted with a warm, homey atmosphere and a busy dining room. Waited about 15 minutes for a table, want bad since it was a packed Friday night. Beautiful decor, and the place smelled delicious! As I was seated, I was served by a lovely young woman named Nicole. She was very attentive and fantastic! I felt well attended and she brought my food out in a timely manner. Speaking of food, I had the Roasted Atlantic Salmon. The everything crust was pretty dry, like an everything bagel lol but the salmon was still fresh, as well as the paid and asparagus underneath! Had a nice cold Narragansett Lager paired with it. For dessert, I opted for the cast iron bread pudding, with a strong recommendation from Nicole to add a scoop of Vanilla. OH. MY. GOSH. I'm so glad I listened because it was DELICIOUS! I almost never go to restaurants attached to hotels but today I was feeling especially lazy after fighting I95 all day so why not. The decor was very good with walls draped in grass cloth and wainscoting. Leather seating that have a saloon like feel. Definitely new american. After a couple of drafts from local breweries which were excellent, on to the eats. I was able to sample a few menu items. The clam chowder was again too runny for me (maybe this is a RI thing). The wings were large but lacked flavor. Salmon was overcooked. The bacon infused meat loaf was by far the best thing I had but for a meat loaf being wrapped in bacon it was missing alot of the bacon flavor interestingly enough. Unfortunately basically everything I had erred to the land of bland, but this was a good place overall especially if you are staying in the PVD hotel zone and want something decent. 3.5 stars. read more

I can't write a review because although we had reservations for Saturday night, we did not end up staying for dinner. We arrived on time and we were promptly seated. . . . and that's as far as we got. You see, we were sitting at our table for well over 20 minutes and not one member of the staff came over to us. Not even to bring us water. We decided to go spend our time as well as money elsewhere and where we felt appreciated. Upon leaving the restaurant we tried to inform the hostess about what happened and why we decided to leave, we waited by the hostess stand for a few minutes but she was no where to be found and we left. My husband and I tried Iron Works for the first time finally even though we have lived in area for quite sometime. There is space on main floor as well as an upstairs. We tried this place because when we are out of state we like to try local places rather than chain restaurants you can get anywhere. This place did not disappoint. I love the atmosphere and ambiance of the exposed ductwork and industrial decor. The food was top notch we had the shrimp and cornbread app. -we are from the South and proud of our cornbread-but I have to say this is the absolute best cornbread I have ever had. The bacon wrapped meatloaf and bread pudding were good too. The service was fast and courteous. If we ever come back through this part of the country we will definitely be back to try more of the menu. read more

Stopped here with a co-worker for lunch on our way to Southeastern MA. Very nice interior- old school with dark wood and copper HVAC ductwork all over. We sat at the bar and each started with a Rhode Island clam chowder for $5. Pretty good sized bowl with tasty broth, lots of small diced potatoes and an OK amount of clams. I went for a veggie wrap which was quite a nice dish for $8 - it had roast vegetables, arugula, goat cheese and a yummy balsamic syrup. Served with a good amount of fries and some pickle slices. Pretty decent dish for $8. Service was very good, the interior was pleasant, and my dish was very good. They have a pretty ambitious menu - lots of nooks and crannies to explore in subsequent trips, for sure. Yay, I'm a fan. read more

More like 3 1/2 stars. Came with a gf for dinner - we wanted to sit at the bar but it was completely full including all high top tables. Even the empty ones had "Reserved" signs on them - oh my, I guess I'm only Elite on Yelp! =) Nice ambience in a converted factory mill type space with exposed brick and vents - reminded me of my old apartment. I kept my shoes on. =) We sat at a table but shortly after, 2 spots opened up at the bar and our waitress was very accommodating and had the bartender clear the space for us. Iron Works is taking part of Restaurant Week (Select App, Entree and Dessert for $29.95) but we decided to just order off the regular menu. We both ordered wines and started off with the calamari. Calamari was good and came in a good size portion. The calamari was lightly breaded and was neither soggy nor too crispy, lacked a little in flavor but it was drizzled in a nice peppadew aioli and arugula. I should've asked for a side of the aioli - it had a nice flavor with a little kick.We both ordered the Salmon - cooked well, nicely crusted with a delicious lemon herb aioli. Came on top of fingerling potatoes and asparagus. The potatoes were really yummy in my tummy. Our bartender was very sweet and made small talk when she got the chance - it was a busy busy place! And considering it's attached to a hotel, the array of characters was quite fascinating. There was an older gentleman who clearly wanted part of our party but sorry - DENIED! And when he left we got a sugar daddy and his sugar baby, clearly there was about a 30 year age difference. I'm not judging that part - it was the over-the-top displays of affections, but it made for dinner and a movie! One more thing to add - when we left, we noticed in the little covered walkway to go out, it's heated! Big props for the business for putting that there! We had an amazing time at our latest find. Rhode Island, a state neither of us had ever been to, since we had some time to kill on a recent trip we decided to check it out. We Checked into our hotel and hubby learned about Iron Works restaurant that is attached to our hotel. While I caught up on some work, hubby went to do some recon on the restaurant for me. Turns out, I could eat there. That night was also the night a friend of our laid his wife to rest and since we couldn't be there we wanted to have a toast in her honor. When I arrived...everyone was ready for me, even though we didn't have a reservation, they had planned ahead. We were found a seat at the bar, where the bar manager could keep a close eye, and off we went down a culinary experience I hope to revisit - often. The drinks were fabulous, we ordered from the menu but their takes on old favorites were second to none. The food and deserts! Oh my, they have the best fries I've had in a long time, and I got them as fresh as possible to ensure no cross contamination. I may have had fries for my dessert. No shame, I enjoyed every bite. When this place first opened, it was really a great place to eat! Super good food and very reasonable pricing. The original person must've left or a change happened that was certainly not for the better! Pricing, portions, service all went down!! We went to celebrate a birthday and they were awful on every front. The worst part is how nasty and unworkable they were about food allergies refusing to substitute anything in the dish or up-charging to half the price of the dish to modify it. They got our orders wrong, didn't care I had allergies and took Forever to serve us while dishing out generous portions of horrible attitude. In the end, my dish still ended up with ingredients I was allergic to, but thankfully I did not have an intense reaction. Imagine if I had been deathly allergic?? I had never been to Iron Works. My friend and I wanted to try somewhere new for a girls night out, and decided to give it a try. We arrived at 5:30 on a Saturday night without a reservation. We were surprised by the Valet option, and choose to indulge as we didn't want to walk far in the rain. When we walked in, it was packed! We were surprised at how busy it was so early. They were able to give us the last open table, way in the back by the back door. But it was comfortable nonetheless. We were served by Shaina who was delightful and prompt. My friend had a cocktail that was mild but tasty. We started with the Brussels sprouts - they were out of this world. Truly, the best I've ever had. With Apple, bacon, and a Mayo sauce. I had the Veracruz tacos, which were good. They were missing some type of sauce so I used some of my friends chipotle Mayo that came with her crispy chicken sandwich. We were staying close by and found this gem. We walked in and were very impressed with the building and the design. We had a very friendly helpful waitress who gave suggestions and recommendations. We started with the pineapple infused martini that was very good. I had the roasted bacon apple vinigerette Brussels sprouted and they were the best I had ever had. Ok so I am staying in the Hilton that's connected. I had lunch here first. New England clam chowder and Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Both were excellent. But the real star was the hostess. She was amazing. Not only did she see that my server was busy and came and took my order, but she checked up on me still. 12ish on 11/17/22, don't know her name but she needs to be recognized. I am here for dinner at the bar. I ordered the 14oz steak which is $40 but let me tell you. Not only was the steak and sides phenomenal in taste but the presentation was stellar. Everything I have seen come out looks high class. Amazing experience today. Highly recommend giving them a try if your a local or if your nearby on business. read more

We reserved Iron Works' smaller function room for a wedding rehearsal dinner and everything was great! From the initial inquiry through the arrangements/selections to the actual event, the staff was consistently responsive and helpful. The custom event menu was great as were all of the dishes; the grilled salmon, the roasted half chicken and the very tender, perfectly cooked steak. We all had a great time! The only time I have eaten at Iron Works Tavern was for their half-priced appetizer deal one (from 3-6:00p.m.) one Friday night. I ordered a Cosmo which was reasonably priced at $10 and my friends and I got one of the pizzas, calamari and truffle fries. The service at the restaurant was also great! Since we arrived closer to the end portion of the half-priced deal our server made sure to come over at 5:50 to ask if we wanted to place an order for anything else before the deal ended. I really like the decor in the bar and there seemed to be a decent mix of people there. While I enjoyed my time at Iron Works I probably would not come back for a normal meal as the menu seems a bit overpriced for the quality of the food and my budget. read more

I was pleasantly surprised with dinner at Iron Works. I went with a large group and everyone enjoyed their dinner. My fall salad with steak was a true dinner salad with a bevy of texture and flavor. The nachos we ordered as an app were some of the best I've had - fresh made chips, jalapeños, perfectly melted cheese. All this in Warwick by a hotel and the airport. Good beer (I.e. Proclamation).
