The office is clean and well-kept, and the staff is amazingly kind and compassionate. They all take the time to explain your care and ways to improve your overall oral health. This was one of the best visits I have ever had at a dentist I have extreme anxiety surrounding dental visits due to their being issues with lidocaine in the past and they offered me other options that seem like they may work and I'm excited to continue to receive my care here. First time here and a new patient! Forgive me if I don't remember the front desk ladies names! They were great, friendly and welcoming. It was a year since I've last gone to a dentist due to moving across states. That being said lets get on with the categories! First Impression: Walked in the office, and my first thought was "Woah, open space, clean area, and friendly atmosphere". The ladies again were really welcoming. Interactions: We all know the routine when first setting up a new doctor/dentist. It can be confusing! The ladies made the process easy as they sent me all the paper-work ahead of time, so when I checked in, they asked me some basic questions, and I was set to go :). I don't think I waited for more then 3 minutes the moment I sat down, but I was the only one in the lobby Service: I had my x-rays, etc taken before heading over to the room where I was evaluated further :). The hygienist was friendly, and actually gave me some great advice for preventative care that I thought I knew already! I was able to get my teeth cleaned and speak with the dentist pretty quickly. Value: Hard to comment on this as I went through my insurance, and I had a $0 copay, but judging off their prices without insurance, the prices seem reasonable considering the quality/care they bring. Definitely ask your insurance company first and work from there. Recommendation: My overall experience was great, and I must say that the customer service from the start to the end was fantastic. When I was originally searching for a dentist, I needed to find out what the cost was per service in detail, and they did a great job providing that in a timely manner. Little things matter from the start to the finish, and I certainly can appreciate those little things. I never thought I'd feel compelled to write a happy review about going to the dentist, but Ironwood is worth writing about! I have pretty bad dental anxiety and had avoided going to the dentist for a few years. After moving to Tucson, it was on my to do list to find a dentist and we came across Ironwood, in part due to the cleanliness and safety mechanisms they put in place. Kristen was my first hygienist and she took her time to explain each part of the process and ensure I was comfortable. The cleaning was thorough with a laser cleaning option for my gums as well. I love their focus on comfort and the technology they offer as well. Dr. Lundin was really kind and also very communicative about what she was seeing, things to look out for and how to prevent future dental issues. I didn't feel like they were trying to sell me anything or rushing, which I've experienced at dentists in the past. I no longer dread going to the dentist, which is honestly such a gift. I'm not proud to admit it but I had been avoiding the dentist for a few years after a bad experience with my previous dentist. While I keep good dental hygiene, I had a previously repaired tooth crack on me which meant I had to find a new Dentist here in Tucson. I ended up talking to Ironwood Dental and making an appointment and I'm glad I did. Dr. John was very personable and gentle. He looked at my issue and did a full exam. Thankfully outside of my cracked tooth I was still in pretty good health. Dr. John and team were able to correct my issue the same day and set up a dental health plan moving forward. He listened to my concerns regarding my previous dentist and assured me that I wouldn't have to worry about those problems here. During the exam portion it was apparent that Ironwood cares about their patients dental health. They used the latest in dental technology to not only X-ray my teeth, but do a sonogram of my mouth and map out a 3D rendering of my mouth to compare in future visits for any changes. I was very impressed with the amount of tech that exists within dentistry today. During the exam and procedure, Dr. John and his team talked me through what they were doing. They also provided me with headphones and a television to watch above the chair while they were working in my mouth. It was very relaxing to have something to focus on outside of the drill in my mouth. However to be fair I never felt the drill anyway. The team at Ironwood Dental made sure I was well numbed up while they were working on me. And to top it all off they even gave me a gift for being a new patient. My husband went in with one cavity. He was told that they needed to remove all of the teeth from his bottom jaw. We definitely got a second opinion. The second dentist, whom my mother-in-law goes to, said that they stereotyped my husband due to his tattoos. My husband has beautiful tattoos. All he needed was a cavity filled...NOT ALL of the lower jaw taken. Please please please DO NOT trust them. If you do, at least get a second opinion. They're in it for the money, not to help you take care of your mouth/teeth. We are very successful people and contribute to our community any way possible. It is very disappointing with the way he was treated by the front staff, hygienist and the doctor. My husband and I have always been taught to abide by the rule of kindness and non-judgment...we didn't receive that at all! If we didn't get a second opinion, it would have been over $15,000 per tooth and a permanent bridge. All he needed was a cavity filled. VERY DISAPPOINTING...YOU CAN'T TRUST ANYONE!! read more

I was shocked at my dental cleaning. I did not know that my deep pockets in my gums were infected and bleeding. Luckily, I went to Ironwood my original hygienist had retired and I had just finished radiation treatment for throat cancer 11.15.20. I saw two hygienist the first was not happy I asked questions. She got another customer my next hygienist did the cleaning and used antibiotic to pack each of the 5 pockets to stop the bleeding . I'm so very thankful I don't know what caused it cancer treatment, bad luck . The new hygienist saved me. If this doesn't stop it then do laser next. If you want the best care go to Ironwood, I'm so grateful. Also I'm not an easy customer because of my PTSD/Borderline personality disorder it makes communication very difficult but the whole ten pulled together and helped me so much. I've been giving my business to Ironwood Dental for two years now. At first, everything was great! However, the past few appointments me and my family have been to we have all been failed to be cared for by Jen. Just this past week, I had to come down from Phoenix for a scheduled cleaning. Got caught in some traffic and called the office when I was running late. Upon arrival (10 minutes late), Jen was waiting for me and kept saying they'll do 'as much as they can'. It was just a cleaning so I was hoping it wasn't too much of an inconvenience. I was already very apologetic about arriving late. Jen then proceeded to not give me a proper cleaning and only worked on my gums for about 10 minutes, continuously saying I had gingivitis after never being told that before, and never having any signs of gum disease. Said there was a lot of bleeding after stabbing my mouth?? It was very uncomfortable. Then she proceeded to tell me that it was going to be an extra $140. I didn't even get a cleaning. She just poked around my mouth pissed off that I was late to the appointment. Then once I saw the doctor, he told me everything looked great and there were no issues, and to just continue flossing, like we've all heard before. I left very confused and disrespected. Even at the front desk they had no idea or explanation for what the extra $140 charge was. Unprofessional on Jen's part. And utterly disappointing to hear that the rest of my family had a very unpleasant experience with her and this office. On top of that I didn't get the cleaning I was scheduled for and ended up paying more for a horrible experience. read more

I've been to ironwood dental a few times now and every time has been an excellent experience. Obviously, I don't love going to the dentist but who does. Since I have teeth and have to go to the dentist I'm glad there is a place like Ironwood. Dr. Schneider is really great and so is her whole staff, especially Sabrina. Sabrina has a really wonderful way of making you feel comfortable while doing something that is not the most comfortable. The office is also really nice and clean! From the moment you walk in it's clear the staff here do their best to give their patients a great experience and the office itself was well designed and clean. Coming around 11:30 on a Tuesday there were people moving in and out with smiles on their faces and I helped myself to some complimentary coffee in the lobby. They had an appointment for me that Thursday. They explained everything they did very thoroughly and made me feel super comfortable. Dr Karley Schneider and her staff have provided exceptional care to me and my husband. Through six crowns for him and three for me, there was no pain. As redheads who are genetically resistant to lidocaine, we have always approached dental care with reluctance - which explains the need for lots of crowns. Dr Schneider was familiar with the problem and had no difficulty rendering painless care. She and every staff member was solicitous, friendly, professional, and informative. I needed a deep cleaning which involved scraping and scaling plaque beneath the gum line. My first thought was along the line of "you and what army ?" Dental hygienist Sara did not hurt me even once. She achieved excellent long lasting numbing with minimal discomfort from the injections. Best of all, after our many procedures neither my husband or I had any pain after the numbing receded. Receptionist Veronica has the unenviable responsibility to confirm insurance coverage. Despite this, she remains cheerful and welcoming. Be sure to bring proof of insurance. Dental assistant Sabrina has a very gentle touch as she takes xrays. She pays close attention to the needs of the recumbent patient. Kelly carefully explains costs and options. There are several other employees who all have lovely smiles. The waiting area is tastefully decorated and the seating is comfortable. Parking including handicap is out front. No stairs. The prices were reasonable. All the staff worked diligently to fit us into the schedule. read more

*review on behalf of my wife* We were referred over to this office by several co workers and hoped our experience would be great but sadly it was not. 1st Issue: My wife had a root canal done on a Wednesday and ended up with very excruciating tooth pain the following day. We called the office the very next day (Thursday) and left several voicemails for help but no one answered. I had to stop by the office to find out that no one was there due to some conference. There was no VM or away message stating they were closed that Thursday. Not to mention, there was not even information given for an emergency dentist while they were away during the normal business hours. My wife had to wait all day Thursday with excruciating tooth pain until after business hours for the phone to direct her to an emergency dentist line. There was not even resources on their website for an emergency dentist. After hours, we were finally directed to leave a VM to the emergency dentist. No call back was receive. My wife remained in pain through the night unable to sleep. Friday morning, we had to call several dentists to see who would take her in last minute to help. We felt helpless and were absolutely not given the appropriate after care, information, or resources we needed to help after the root canal. Also may i add, we received no call back from the office staff in regards to the VMs we left for help. Issue 2: my wife has an appointment tomorrow. She got called in today for an emergency work meeting that conflicts with tomorrows appointment. She calls the dentist to cancel due to the emergency work meeting. They tell her they will charge a cancel fee. Now, considering everything we looked past to give them a second chance we do not appreciate this fee. This is the end of our business with them and will not be going back. read more

Dr. Rider, Veronica and Sabrina were absolutely fantastic! I went in with pain from a wisdom tooth that was coming in and left without pain the same day. Dr. Rider was conservative in making his decision to treat, with all facts in hand, symptoms and x-rays, Dr. Rider removed the tooth painlessly. Sabrina's skill set as a dental assistant made my experience as a patient one to remember, her great chairside manner and ability to put me at ease are qualities that are hard to find and much appreciated. I had been dealing with a very bad tooth for 2 weeks. This is the second dental office I have been to in less than a week over this tooth, (I walked out of the other office & wouldn't let them do anything). From the moment I called Ironwood Dental everyone was so nice, they were able to get me in right away with no waiting. I have real high anxiety due to bad experiences with other dentists & they tried their best to ease my mind. Let's just say I wasn't calm until after Dr. Schneider said the tooth was gone. She said she could get me numb enough to pull my angry tooth to where I wouldn't feel anything & she did. I will actually look forward to going back to the office in a few weeks for more work.
