I have been taking my kids to this dental office for over 15 years. Our primary dentist is Dr. Clara Lee, who is always cheerful, gently, and really cares about her patients well-being. My children absolutely adore her! The entire staff is also very friendly and organized. I have never had an issue with appointments or waiting a long time to be seen. The office is also very clean and has video games and toys for the kids to play with while you wait. I cannot recommend this dental office enough. read more

When my son's dentist was not available to see for an urgent matter, I decided to look for another pediatric dentist in the are. I came across Irvine Children's Dentistry and it's good reviews, and I decided to call. They were able to fit my son in the next day. Upon arrival, the front desk greeted and quickly checked us in. The office is easy to locate and very kid-friendly. After a short wait, my son was seen and all our concerns were answered. We usually stay local for most things but we travel farther to see our dentist....definitely worth the drive!! The owner reached out to me to understand what happened and provided an explanation which I appreciated so I'm updating my review to reflect that I'm just not sure about this place. It seems the recommendation to extract my son's baby tooth was related to his orthodontia work - and they wanted to remove it so that he didn't need his braces for as long. The owner explained that they recommended to remove my son's tooth months before we had the appointment to remove his tooth. I don't know what happened exactly timing wise since my husband handles the kids' dentist appointments and this a while back and he no longer remembers what happened, but the fact that my son's baby tooth came out on its own after they said we needed to make an appt to remove it irked me. Teeth cleanings were no problem (and my husband went ahead with a previously scheduled appt for one after my review) and my son's orthodontia work did turn out good. I will also add that they identified small cavities for my other kids and were conservative in saying we can just watch them for now. I just don't know if I'd trust teeth extraction suggestions now due to scheduling a tooth extraction at their recommendation and then seeing my son's tooth fall out on the day of the appointment before his appointment time - granted they've explained they suggested we remove it a couple months before the appointment. read more

I have taken both my kids here for the last almost 2 decades. Dr Lee is the only dentist they know. :) She is gentle and careful when handling their teeth. Dr Franklin is a wonderful dentist. Kind, caring and compassionate. He took the time to explain procedures, benefits vs cost and even gave us some helpful tips on saving money for retainers which I really appreciated. He also understood teenager behavior and made some suggestions on doing something that my teen may not fully be willing to adhere to regarding buying new retainers vs wearing night guards and gave me some money saving tips. I really felt he was looking out for my pocketbook and at the same time giving us sound advice without trying to upsell me on something we may not really need which was very refreshing. It made me feel as though he wanted the best for our family while understanding the reality of buying new expensive retainers vs my son following through and wearing them. He suggested I try buying inexpensive night guards first vs going to back my orthodontist for new retainers. Great advice which I really appreciated. Dr. Lani was the doctor who took care my baby's teeth. We appreciate her patience, her down-to-earth attitude, her cheerful, her knowledge, and her advice whether it's answering our questions or dealing with an upset 1-year-old during his teeth cleaning. My 1-yr-old doesn't like to get his teeth brushed but Dr. Lani did it patiently, carefully and meticulously. Thank you! If I can give 10 stars, I would I came across this clinic based on yelp recommendation since I didn't have a good experience with the previous clinic I went to and wanted to try a different one - As soon as my toddler stepped into the clinic, my toddler was treated like a toddler and that he was very comfortable that he let them do their exam, x-ray and cleaning without any complaining. Daniela was the one who took care of him and she was like a mother to him. Not every dental clinic cares about your kids, it is a business for them but there are some like Irvine Children's Dentistry who will take good care of your kids as if they are their own.
