If you don't want to get naked, you can go to the co-ed common area where there's a few hot sauna rooms and a main area with heated floors that people sit and lay at to relax. They also have a restaurant but it was kind of pricey so we opted to get some drinks and a kimbap and did dinner elsewhere. Highly recommend! Being assigned a number and my fancy pink shirt and jorts lol if you're not comfortable being naked it is not for you. You cant wear anything in the wet room. I thought it was well kept. Pools were hot and cold pools were cold. We did a scrub and massage. I knew going in the massage wasn't going to be tier top level and more so get lose and oily like you're going to a Diddy party. Amazing experience! I swung by this place while I was getting my reading glasses repaired. I came on a Monday afternoon and it wasn't too crowded. There were ample parking in front of the entrance. It was my first time at a Korean spa so it was a little confusing. The entrance fee is $35. You get a key wristband and place your shoes in the little locker. Then, you go to the larger locker rooms and change into the provided shorts and shirt. There was a relaxation room in the lockers and lots of towels by the spa area. The restrooms were really clean and there was a large vanity area. I was a bit intimidated to come to the spa solo but there were many people who were also alone. I had lunch in their restaurant and ordered the kalbi + tofu soup combo. The combo comes with cucumber, veggies, and rice. The meal was so fulfilling! The tofu soup was a combination of beef with seafood and it was spicy and delicious! There were multiple rooms with different heat levels. The salt room, forest room and ice rooms were my favorite! There's also a very large common area where many people laid to take a nap! There's also TV's and massage chairs. Don't forget to bring cash for the massage chairs! What started out as a 100-minute body scrub and massage turned into a 6-hour extravaganza of going in and out of different rooms to cool off, sweat, and cool off again. In between, you can feast at the onsite Korean cafeteria and get japchae noodles, beef galbi and an assortment of banchan. The Golden Scrub was the best all over body scrub down, cleansing scratch you'll ever have in your life. The only thing that gave me pause was the walking around naked in front of friends also walking around naked. It's awkward and liberating at the same time and also really awkward. Yup, awkward. What awaits you are Korean aunties dressed in black bra and matching panties and once you get over being mortified, you remember that they're wearing more clothes than you and you just focus on your scrub down. They give you a hair mask that moisturizes your hair and scalp, you'll hear them slicing paper thin cucumbers on a cutting board because that's what your hydrating mask is made of. You will feel your dead skin flaking away and when you emerge, you feel as smooth as a dolphin. Highly recommend this spot! read more

Instead, we found ourselves in a situation that none of us were prepared for. FYI - Call and make reservations in advance 1-2 days. It is difficult to get same day appts. They do the 30 min scrub first. Then scalp massage, cucumber facial. And kind of like shaitsu high pressure massage. Painful but good for you! The hot moist towels felt awesome! They do use mineral oil, but cleanse it with warm milk. - You should bring a scubbie to shower to get the mineral oil off. Left with baby smooth skin. Today the restaurant food was pretty great. Got the spicy pork. It came with rice (but it wasn't well made or rinsed well). The ban chans were good (Fish cake, cucumbers and kimchi). They were nice and refilled it to my satisfaction. The place is clean. They did run out of towels a few times, but after a short wait they were replenished. FYI - I did notice some non-Koreans who lacked spa etiquette in the hot rooms. QUIET is a must, we come here to relax, not hear you whisper / jibber jabber when we are trying to relax and take a nap. **disclaimer** everyone is naked lol I love coming here for a scrub when I feel like my skin is just dry and flaky. First things first, you will be paying for your service and admission up front. The front desk will give you a key. Hold onto it! When you first enter the area, you will find lockers for your shoes. Keep the key! Go further and you will find a locker number for your clothes and belongings. If you go for a scrub or any service, you will need to soak for 30 mins prior to service. The towels are itty bitty but really, there's no need since you will need to soak butt naked. Remember to shower before going into the hot tubs! There is a tv before you enter the hot tub/sauna area that will list numbers and who will be servicing you. This is a good reference if you're worried but just remember your number. They will call you by number. The scrub...is not the most relaxing thing but they get rid of dead skin. You know how they descale fish? Yeah, it's that! The ladies mean business and will get you nice and smooth. End of service they will give you an envelope for tip which can be put in the box upon exiting the facility. The co-ed areas require clothes and that's the clothes they provide. Most rooms are hot, including the floor. However, it's nice to bring a book or face mask while relaxing. The drive all the way from San Diego is always worth it. Tips if you are new to the Korean spa or jjimjilbang: Yes, you will be nude. As will everyone in the sepeated areas. There is a co-ed area where you must be fully clothed but, otherise, be ready to be nude in the pool area. Never have I ever had a problem here. U.S.-raised individuals can sometimes have trouble with this. But there are people from different backgrounds and all sizes. It is best to become with acceptance, an open mind and understanding and most important, with respect. If you are unfamiliar with the style of bathhouse (jjimjilbang in particular) and what is customary and acceptable, please take the time to read before you go. The team is also very helpful should you ever have any questions. Also, be sure to bring a book/fully charged tablet, your toiletries and money for the cafe to enjoy after your soak or treatment. Last visit, I was there for nearly 5 wonderful, blissful hours (for $35, six hours is the max). You may take a nap. You may walk around a bit. You may be in and out of the hot and ice rooms. You may have a service. Best to be prepared with what you need to relax. If you are getting a spa service (which range between about $115 and $200), you will want to show up early. I like to show up at least 30 minutes before so I can get checked in, showered and soak for a bit before it is my turn. The wet spa is in the back, in the spa (pool) area. The massages are closer to the front, and you need to be clothed (the spa offers a comfortable T-shirt and shorts for all guests, but no shoes, so bring slippers if you prefer). As for services, the body scrub is the best. You will get pure exfoliation all over your body. This is my favorite service. You can add a massage as well, with coconut oil or aromatherapy. You can also get a dry oil massage that is like a Swedish massage, or acupressure. Several options and combinations are available. If you do not have a service, you can enjoy the spa and the rooms. There is a fire room, a salt room, an ice room (my favorite). You can move between rooms as you please, but be sure to stay hydrated and pay attention to how your body responds. Some of the rooms -- like the red clay room -- feel like a desert summer. The body can feel overwhelmed quickly. I also appreciate that the spa has relaxation rooms in various locations, and a heated floor in the co-ed space. Great to relax, rejuvenate and read. There are television sets here, which is strange to me, but they are kept low. There is even a room full of massage chairs -- cash only though at $1 per minute. I like to have a lunch after the spa, and the cafe is amazing! The portions are huge, so be ready to share. There are stone grilled eggs, broths and soup, fish, beef and pork plates and numerous other items. If you've ever wanted to try those Korean spas with the shirt and shorts and sheephead towels, do it! Come to this location! My sisters and I were newbies to the whole experience, and I wanted to be surprised so I didn't really read up on what to expect, except for what I've briefly seen on korean tv shows. I know they have hangout areas and huts and dry sauna rooms. Plus, the sisters booked body scrubs and massages. They're pricey starting at $125, but your $35 entrance fee is waived. After checking in and paying at the front, we were given uniforms (oversized pink shirt and shorts for girls, gray for guys) & keys to wear around our wrists, and then we pass a locker for shoes. We had to open the locker number that is printed on our key and go barefoot from thereon. The next area had bigger lockers for bags, clothes and we used the same key for the corresponding locker. We then started to explore the dry saunas since we had maybe 15 more minutes before our masseuse/body scrubbers would get us.They had different rooms : a salt room, a forest room, a fire room an ice room and a domed hut (it didnt have an english name translation from what I remember). Most of the facility had heated floors in the dry area. Then these ladies called us into the wet area (jacuzzi, showers) where everyone was made to strip nekkid! I was very much self conscious LOL but so was everybody else. I mean, I got nothing special. We were told to get rinsed in the shower and then get on a massage table with a thick vinyl plastic cover, face down. The masseusse / scrubber got some very hot water in a bowl and rinsed us down. Then the scrubbing began. I had been scrubbed raw evrrrywhere - in places Ive never scrubbed before (or at least other people have not scrubbed before.) If you think the masseusse will ignore some parts -- you're wrong. They will get to it eventually *grimace* After 15-20 of non stop scrubbing and hotwater rinsing, (i saw flakes of dead skin on my arms and table) you will get desensitized from another person touching your body. We did the 80min combo and I think the 60 min scrub-massage should be enough. The massage was nice. After the scrub-massage, we waited for each other by the common area that had faux pagodas and fake logs and heated floors. It was noon so we went to the food court, where they had pretty tasty Korean food. We ordered: Jjajangmyeun, Fish Roe Stew, Beef Short Ribs, Spicy Chicken wings. We finished everything among 3 of us. Yum. After that, we did the Salt Room, the ice room, the forest room, the ice room ... in that order. We hung out in the domed hut, and when we checked out the Fire room, earlier, we didnt care much for it so we didn't revisit it again this time. (and nobody ever goes in there it seems. It is just way too hot, like 150deg) Lastly we hung out again at the larger common area with the pagodas. The ceiling / lamps even had stars, it seemed to round off what is such an incredibly magical experience. My phone was at 20% before I came in (dumb) and on the 4th hour, it was dead. Being tethered to my phone, after 30 mins of lounging, I was experiencing phone-FOMO and decided to grab my charger and hang out by the couches near the locker rooms to charge. Theres a big TV there and 2 girls just on their phones, cooling off. Earlier in the unisex area of the jjim jil bang, I had looked up how to fold sheephead towels, and while charging, a lady came up to me to ask me to teach her how to do it. haha! All in all, this was such an amazing experience and we spent 5 hours in this place (max is 6 hours). You really wouldn't want to leave! In restrospect, we should have gone straight to the jacuzzis before the scrub, and then the dry saunas after (because you are no longer allowed to go in the water once you have oils and stuff on your body). I say it is pricey bec it is 3 digits $$$ HOWEVER the value you get here is way more than other massage parlors. My sisters were so happy, we were already calculating what monthly subscriptions we have to sacrifice in order to come here more regularly. We were also planning the next birthday and have all 3 of us meet here again. I was really happy to hang with my sisters, be scrubbed raw, eat good Korean food, and relax for 6 hours. If you have never been to a Korean spa, I highly recommended ISPA! This is not one of those high end American spa but it's pretty amazing! Let me walk you through what I mean with some details. Parking: free, they have a giant parking lot. General admission and service: if you just want to enter the spa, no appointment is needed. general admission is 6 hours long. The service, however, will require a week in advance for booking. You can check out their website on which service you like. I recommend the scrub! How it work: Once you enter, there's a giant table where you check in. They'll hand out clothes to change. Before you head to the changing area (gender separated), you will put your shoes to the shoes locker. Once you enter the changing area, you will find another locker to put your belonging. inside the changing area of the women, there are 3 pools (cold, medium hot, and hot), 2 showers (standing and seating), 2 saunas (steam and dry), and service area for those booking services. You will need to shower before you go anywhere. In these areas, DON'T BE SHOCK, BUT YOU'RE GOING TO SEE LOTS OF NUDITY! Once you do your think in there, You can enter to the common area! In this space, you can meet with your opposite gender friends/significant others. There are fire room, ice room, salt room, forest room, and a cafeteria! The food in the cafeteria were delicious! So I got the scrub service. If you're going to do it, make sure you're not shy cause you're going to be entirely naked as these Korean ladies scrubbing you from head to toes to your butt crack! We started off w going to separate men and women's rooms to change and rinse before going to the common shared spaces. Headed off the common space and was surprised the floor was already heated! There's 4 main rooms to go in, salt room, forest room, clay room and ice room. All of them were pretty spacious besides the cold room. They even had on the side a restaurant you can eat at and sit on wooden flooring on small tables (felt like I was in a kdrama!) the food was good but I was more invested in the spa rooms. We Kept jumping in n out of each hot room before going to the ice room. We stayed there for about 5 hours and afterwards went back to the private rooms to change. It was so cool, they had little mirrors and a cute spot to sit on and shower, I felt like a mermaid just washing my hair and combing it in from of the mirror on the cute little chairs, there had a suana and stem room inside the private women's room where the ladies are naked (I was shy at first but got over it after a few minutes. First time here and I don't think I'll be back tbh. I've been to other spas and there just little thing here that I wasn't a fan of. Cleanliness was great . The uniforms were cute being pink instead of the usual orange like some I've been too. They have a good amount of rooms here: Fire room was a good amount of heat and the space in here was good . Ondol room was my least favorite. I prefer an actual red clay room with he beads on the floors over the impervious layer they have . Salt room was extra extra hot and would've helped if they offer slippers to protect our feet while walking in so tread carefully. Forest room was eh . I did love the eucalyptus scent though. But I didn't appreciate the group of young girls in here that kept talking then started to play a card game! Ice room is usually one of my favorite rooms but this one disappointing with very little seating area. The setup was just very awkward. Especially with that group of young girls in there as well taking up half of the floor space! While we were in there we witness multiple people walking in and right out because of this situation. David and I were in town and decided to check out Irvine Spa! I was scoping this place out mainly because I was considering bringing my bridesmaids here.The facility overall is clean, has easy parking, and reasonably priced for what it offers. Just to be clear - it is NOT an all-nude spa in case it appears that way. The common area has 5 different rooms (1 of which is an ice room) and a cafeteria. Then, in the individual men/women locker rooms, those are connected to a pool/hot tub area where you have to be nude to enter the pool. Just in case people were wondering! This was only my second experience at a spa. I've been to one somewhat like this in Virginia called Balian Springs, but much bigger and honestly doesn't really compare. When we checked in, we received bracelets and a set of clothes to wear around the common areas (shirts and shorts). Then, you walk into the locker room where there's first a hallway of smaller lockers. APPARENTLY those first set of small lockers are meant only for your sandals (which I didn't know, nobody explained this to me) so I literally stuffed everything I was carrying in there until I walked around the corner and saw bigger locker rooms which you can use to put the larger items. Go figure LOL! I also didn't know where to grab a towel so I got two from the pool/hot tub area. There weren't places to grab towels around the common area. When you enter the common area, you walk into a large room on heated floors and several "logs" places around where you can either lie on or put your feet up when lying in the floor on your back. It was HOT! I wasn't expecting the common area to already be so warm. To the right there is a cafeteria and to the left you can enter 5 different rooms. Being somewhat of a spa noob, all of these rooms were incredibly hot to me and I couldn't stay in there for probably longer than 10 mins. There's no indication of how hot each room is, but if I had to guess it would be: Fire Room (hottest) - Salt Room - Ondalo Room - Forest Room. I'm glad there was an Ice Room for me to cool down in between rooms. Okay time for food: a lot of the reviews mention how good the food is and I wasn't disappointed! I have to say I've never seen (or known) of any spa with so many menu options. We ordered a jiajangmyeon, gimbap, rice drink, honeydew milk tea. It is indeed pricey as other reviews have stated but also the portions I think are quite big. Jiajangmyeon: Pretty good! TONS of black bean sauce. The sauce was a little bit more of a thinner liquid-soup than what I envisioned but maybe that's how it's supposed to be? They really drowned those noodles. Has little bits of meat in there too. The portion was ENORMOUS. Gimbap: Also not bad, they give you a decent amount. Drinks: The rice drink was really sweet but refreshing. The honeydew milk tea was decent. I wish they allowed different sizes because as someone who just doesn't drink a ton (period) I can't always finish a large size drink. You can't pack any to-go containers so you're essentially forced to stuff everything down before you leave or waste the food because food is not allowed elsewhere in the spa. So make sure you're ready to eat what you order! Overall, I'd give a 3.5. I'm not sure that I'll be bringing my bridesmaids since I'd be concerned that the facility would be full on a Saturday (which is when we would probably go). It was already somewhat full on a Friday afternoon and the rooms being really small like they were I'd be concerned about having enough space. In some of the rooms the max capacity really felt like it was 4-5 at most. Salt and fire are probably the biggest. ALERT!!! DIRTY bowl with HALF lever food for a new order? It looks disgusting! Took this photo right after they brought it out from the kitchen. This is their soft tofu when it came out from their kitchen. Bowl is dirty as the photo and only half of the food in the bowl. I talked to the kitchen manager she said because I bought combo so the food is half size. They started to talk in Korean and complained about me. Then I told them: sorry I know Korean, stop taking sh*t, because I understand what you guys are talking. Here is my question? 1. Why do you use dirty bowl? Would you please clean it well before use it? 2. Combo order means half size? Why don't you write half size in your menu for the combo so people will know before they order the combo? 3. Love love love ISPA! So relaxing! The co-ed area (jjimjilbang) with heated rooms really helps with back pain and muscle soreness, so if you workout often, it's great for recovery. The ice tub (in the locker room nude area), gets rid of inflammation, aches and pains. Soaking your whole body in cold water is difficult at first, but with practice it becomes easier. GLOWING SKIN: My face feels hydrate, clear and glowing after a day at ISPA. How can a service center allow its front desk staff to have such an appallingly bad attitude? What does it mean to sound half-dead and lifeless? That's exactly how the male staff member who answered my call this morning sounded. I called before 10 a.m., and his attitude was already very unpleasant. Maybe he thinks their business is too good to care. I asked to book a massage, and he flatly told me there were no appointments for today. When I pressed further, he still insisted the whole day was fully booked. Then suddenly, after I pushed again, he said there was one at 7 p.m. So how is that "nothing available all day"(that was exactly his words)? Does this mean they're just too rich to bother making money? Ridiculous. When he took my information, he clearly entered the last four digits of my phone number incorrectly. Even after I corrected him, I'm certain he didn't update the system. He also got the initial of my name wrong and didn't bother fixing it. As a result, when I called back later to adjust my appointment, he couldn't even find my record. Despite such poor service, I still maintained my manners and said "thank you" before hanging up. But on both calls, right after I said thank you, he just hung up on me. Even if the center itself has nice facilities, encountering front desk staff with such laziness and indifference leaves me feeling nothing but disgust and disappointment. What a great experience with well kept facilities and nice ambience! I definitely came out feeling refreshed and less stressed! After paying at the front you walk into the male or female side and put your shoes in the small lockers against the wall. Then use the key they give you to unlock a larger locker to place your belongings into and change into the shirt/pants they provide. They have a hot room, a cold room, a salt room, and a wood/forest room. My favorites were probably the wood/forest and salt rooms. It did get pretty busy on a weekend night so we had to wait for some people to leave before entering. There is a large area for sitting and relaxing in the middle section. There is also a food court off to the side. The rice punch/shikye is very refreshing. FYI: once you buy food, you can't leave the food court with it. Internet was kind of spotty depending on which area you're in. After sitting in all the rooms, we rinsed off and took advantage of the indoor sauna and pools. Then we showered again, changed, and headed out. read more

I had my first Korean Spa experience at Irvine Spa and am so glad I went! I definitely recommend reading some reviews or watching videos before you go so you have a clear idea of what to do when you arrive and throughout your visit. Arrive at least 30 minutes before your treatment to give yourself time to acclimate and soak (if you're getting a scrub). I enjoyed the intuitive locker system (separate locker for shoes and other goods-- corresponds with the number on your key-- which they will also use to call you for your treatment). Common area is large with comfortable temperatures, specific heated rooms actually have the theme of heat (salt room, 불가마, etc), food offerings are good as well. My favorite Korean spa establishment so far. My first time here I was given a size M uniform, and I was afraid my shorts would slide down since they were too big. The second time I was given a size S, which fit perfectly. When you enter the gendered area, there is a shoe locker area, and then the clothes locker area. The lockers are big enough to store all your belongings, and I like that there's a hanger inside. In this area there is a quiet room with heated floor and dim lighting, which is nice to nap in. There are also restrooms and a vanity area with hair dryers. Near the vanity area is the entrance to the wet area. There are plenty of standing and seated shower stalls to rinse before and after, complete with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner at each stall. The hot and cold tubs are not scalding hot or painfully numbing cold respectively. I can stay in each tub for quite a few minutes and relax, and each tub is big enough to fit at least 6 people comfortably. I only use the warm tub for my very first soak, but it's nice to have the option. There's also a steam room where it feels like you're showered by the mist sprinklers, as well as a spacious dry sauna room. There's also a section where you would get the body scrub if you have an appointment and a water dispenser in this area. The common area is nice and warm with heated floor. I love all the co-ed sauna rooms. The bulgama (fire room) is my favorite, but I also enjoy sweating buckets in the ondol room, lying on salt crystals in the salt room, inhaling the smell of wood in the forest room, and cooling down in the ice room. I like wearing a face mask for a few minutes in the forest room and then finishing it with a few minutes in the ice room. There are massage chairs in the common area. You have to pay to use them, but it's only a few dollars. There are also a restaurant and a room with chairs and table surfaces if you want to work or relax in a cooler temperature than the common area. Love getting boiled eggs and a shikhye (rice punch) after a full round in the co-ed sauna rooms. I can easily spend almost 6 hours here. That's how much I enjoy all the amenities. I wish the food prices were cheaper, the clay room had clay balls like at some other Korean spas, and there's a water dispenser near the co-ed sauna rooms, but I Spa is still my favorite despite those. read more

A review for the first timers (like myself). If you plan to get any services or visit the sauna/pools, you gotta be naked! But if you just want to sit in the rooms then you can wear the PJs and go in there, though it prob wouldn't feel as good if you didn't do a plunge in the pools at least. My friends and I did a body scrub and massage. It was quite an interesting experience. The Korean grandmas in there do yell at you if you don't know what the f you're doing (like me). But they're mostly nice. They wash and scrub you down like a fish. And massage you like you're a piece of meat. Lol don't expect it to be relaxing! It's definitely a one of a kind experience that you just gotta do on your bucket list. Idk if I would willingly go again unless a friend wanted to try for their first time or something. For a $35 day pass (6 hours max), this place is a great deal if you want to spend the day relaxing in the spa. They do waive the entrance fee if you get a service over a certain $ amount but I only had a little over 2.5 hours so I decided not to get a service this time. This is a traditional Korean style spa with a large co-ed public area including several different temperature co-ed rooms with different healing benefits. They had a salt room, a clay room, a forest room and a cold room. They also have separate women's and men's spa areas with jacuzzis at different temperatures (hot, warm, and cold), dry sauna and wet sauna plus a ton of standing and sit down showers. NO CLOTHES OR SWIMSUITS ALLOWED, so if you aren't comfortable being naked this might not be your thing. Honestly no one looks at you, this is very normal in Asian bathing culture. They also offer a restaurant with a full menu of Korean dishes plus a kids play room, a quiet room and a large area to watch TV while relaxing on the heated floor. The have an unlimited supply of towels in the sauna area which I appreciated too. The place was clean, not sparking clean but decently clean. The showers do have shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrush and toothpaste. They also have drink vending machine and an ATM for your convenience. There is plenty of free parking right in their lot too. I can't give a review for any of the services but I absolutely love Korean scrubs so I will update my review once I try a service here. Overall this was a great experience and a good value with the $35 day pass! Very relaxing day here, I will definitely be back! read more

Great, relaxing experience here! I love that you get access to all the sauna rooms with the admission fee and can stay for 6 hours. I didn't book the extra services like the massage. It's already satisfying with all the accommodations included. The cafe inside by the common room has delicious Korean food as well, especially the seafood pancake. Out of all the rooms, I enjoyed the forest room and ice room the most. I also love relaxing in the big common room where you can just lie on the heated floor. It's definitely a good idea to bring your own Hydroflask or something similar. I hope to come back soon! read more

Good place to relax. It's $30 admission per person as of Nov 2022. This place is cleaner than most Korean spas I've been to in LA and OC. The only downside is that they don't enforce a quiet environment policy here. I've heard loud laughters from workers there behind the "employee-only" door (surprisingly, loud enough to be heard in the common co-ed area). There was also a couple who had no social awareness--loudly speaking in Mandarin, eating watermelon in heated rooms (wtf), and showing way too much PDA in confined public places. The staff didn't enforce anything. Other customers simply left the room whenever that couple entered. read more
