They were very busy but the staff didn't seem stressed By it, which was so good to see. What a great addition to downtown Salem! Relaxed, but still very classy. They use Sister's coffee, which is fantastic and their baristas are solid. I tried a few breakfast items and a couple afternoon sandwiches over the last few days. Everything has been top notch with unique flavors. I look forward to trying several other items. We love this place. Staff: friendly. Coffee and baked goods: delicious. Atmosphere: Lovely. We have never had a bad meal or cup of anything here. It gets crowded at times, because it's just a lovely place to hang out with friends. Isaac's serves beer and wine, too. I can't comment on those because we don't go here for anything other than tea and coffee and the occasional bagel/sandwich/protein smoothie. But I'm guessing the wine and beer are just as good as everything else! read more

I love this place! This place is good for working, studying, or socializing. I brought a date here and we drank coffee and chatted for hours. The seating is very comfortable and there's a lot of it. The music is just perfect. The service is fast and friendly. The establishment was clean and the workers were super happy which tells me the management is excellent and keeps employees happy. The coffee was really good too. They have a huge table good for large groups or sitting with others, making new friends. They have free WiFi and lots of power outlets to keep your laptop or other devices powered. I felt they had quite a few menus and I would love to see them better organized with them but overall this is an excellent spot and a good addition to Salem downtown. Parking can be a challenge as lots of competition and please remember what time you parked! 3 hour parking means they will ticket you if you overstay your spot! Pretty great little coffee shop! This is where Knopps jewelry and art used to be off of court street in downtown salem! impressive decor and architecture for sure! Their coffee was pretty good--not the best i've ever had--but pretty good for sure. Good coffee, good food. Service is lacking. 4 people in our group - #1 took 20 minutes to get pour over coffee(when it was finally ready it was Luke warm). #2 I ordered bagel sandwich with bacon, I got sausage. #3 another egg bagel sandwich, asked for tomato - no tomato and for some reason the egg was missing, but he did get bacon. #4 bagel sandwich - also forgot tomato. It was busy on a Saturday morning around 10:30am. But that's no excuse for all those mistakes. And if the coffee takes 20 minutes it should at least be hot. They offered my wife a free pastry for the Coffee taking forever and having to make a new one. read more

Had a cup of drip coffee without anything in it here today. It was a Brazilian, fairly natural processed tasting, but not too bad. At just two dollars, it was very good. Staff was not particularly friendly or rude. It's nice to sit inside! I'll be trying IKE Box, their other spot, next time I'm in town. I will say the quote on the wall was disappointing. I'm the hero of my story? I hope not! I think if we are honest, we all know we need someone stronger than ourselves to rescue us from the mess we've made of our lives and hearts and minds. Nice atmosphere, great place to study, delicious coffee & food, and I love the music! It's bright and open, with the majority of the light coming from the big windows that make up two of Isaac's Room's walls. I'm a fan of studying in coffee shops, and this one is great for that - it's always bustling, but never impossible to concentrate. The constant buzz of voices makes a pleasant background. The sandwiches and desserts are delicious, and their drinks are amazing as well - particularly their signature hot teas and their espresso milkshake. And the music! It's at a good volume to be enjoyable if you want to listen, but not distracting. Sometimes I swear they're playing from my own playlists! It's a little on the pricey side, but not any more so than any of the dozen other coffee shops in downtown Salem. read more

This cafe is not ideal for sit-down chilling or working on project. Background music is super loud and only few corner has outlet available to charge your devices. More importantly, there was barely any social distance approached in the cafe because of the capacity with crowds. read more

Service is rude and very slow. My friends and I were asked if all we were going to order was one drink because families were waiting. We were legitimate customers. And this is a coffee house first and foremost so what else are we supposed to do? Isaacs small space is NOT our problem. There were plenty of plenty of other people just sitting and talking occupying space and not leaving. This is the worst place in all of Downtown Salem. I have been a fan since Isaac's opened. Walking over for coffee and an awesome breakfast sandwich on Saturday mornings after a long walk has become a thing. I typically order the everything bagel breakfast sandwich with egg, bacon, goat cheese, avocado, and a little bit of red onion. Then I discovered the veggie/ humus board or their meat/ cheese board after work with a glass of red wine with friends/ colleagues is also awesome. But the creme brûlée!! Oh my is it good!! But the best part-- the warm atmosphere, the friendly staff and the mission of the business. Tip-- Sunday nights they are open pretty late for Salem and the vibe is quieter-- you can relax or get some work or reading done with good food/ coffee. read more
