Well- iScream has solved this by letting you get TWO flavors in one scoop! They are happy to load half a scoop and then make the rest of it a different flavor of your choosing! That was some of the best ice cream I've ever had. Super smooth and creamy. It wasn't cheap but it was one of the few things I've had where I felt like the added expense was more than worth it. I kept looking at the pictures, and I had a change of heart. I had to go RIGHT NOWWW!!! I've never been to this part of Berkeley. It feels really nice and relaxing part of town. It reminded me of piedmont if anyone knows that area. Berkeley, to me, usually feels very fast pace. Cute little ice cream shop. There are about 4 tables inside and 1 outside. They are very welcoming! My boyfriend and I were greeted right when we walked in, and she offered to let us sample whatever our hearts desired. I really came for green tea, but they didn't have it today. I tried cookies & creme, blueberry, salted caramel, and strawberry. THEY WERE ALL GOOD! It was so hard to decide, but I went with cookies & creme and blueberry. I love the fact you are able to get 2 flavors with one scoop. They should do that at more places. High quality special ice cream and some excellent and unique flavors. There was a long line of people here when we arrived, A testament to the excellent quality of the ice cream they serve. My daughter couldn't decide if she wanted the pumpkin spice or honey lavender ice cream. She ended up going with the pumpkin spice so I ordered the honey lavender so she could try both. I got the Marzipan ice cream, which is now my favorite ice cream flavor. Their ice cream is incredible - creamy, sweet, and deep flavors. I've never had anything as "almondy" as their Marzipan ice cream!! I wasn't really in the mood of ice cream, so I decided to only get a 1/2 cup and was really blown away. I even took a pint home. I resisted iScream for as long as I possibly could but today was one of those perfect 75 degrees Bay Area days and all I wanted was to sit in the sun eating an ice cream cone. The heart wants what it wants. My husband, an ice cream aficionado, was more than happy to join me on my ice cream lunch break. Honey lavender is insanely delicious. Really subtle delicate flavors, just the right level of sweetness. The salted caramel is another winner. Really rich, super tasty, high quality ice cream. I ordered the following: Marzipan Mint chocolate Mocha almond Honey lavender All flavors were great! The honey lavender tasted more like fruit loops than anything but it was still delicious! This place is in the same block to the right of Zachary's as you walk out. Perfect spot after enjoying some carb pizza style! It's soo cute inside. Smallish but the four ladies behind the counter are big on efficiency and blazing fast service! I tried the raspberry and ginger combo scoops. Oh my! That's the single lingo. It means two scoops. $4. Jamie W. and I ended up here after a long day of driving the Bay Area from Pescadero to Vallejo, a wild route of indecision. I remember as a Cal youngster, I used to frequent Solano Avenue in my beater - my car, not my T-shirt - and come to McCallum's for good, old-fashioned ice cream. That place is sadly long gone, so we gave this place a try since I have a nostalgic fondness for the neighborhood. Their flavors may not be as creative/exotic as Ici's ever changing menu of flavors that had included corn, you don't have to worry about waiting in the long lines either to get good quality ice cream. Both shops the original one on Solano and the new one on Shattuck are stocked with the most delicious Ice Cream in the Bay area. The Shattuck location has different specialities such as Ice Cream cakes to order and for sale, they also have absolutely the best fresh cookies in Berkeley. The Solano location has milkshakes and both shops have freshly made Waffle cones chocolate and vanilla. The seasonal flavors taste just like what they are named. The pumpkin pie tastes like grandma's pie that I remember as a kid. Lemon Cream is the bomb as the Cookies and Cream that they call Cookies. When I came here they were very helpful & polite. I got their mint n' chip which was super good!! Not too sweet and just delicious. I did get a scoop of the strawberry as well and I did not like it, which was a shocker considering how good the mint n' chip was. I got a weird burnt taste in the strawberry ice cream (like the taste of burnt sugar on top of a cremé brûlée) not sure why? I had a bit of it & couldn't finish it because it was way too sweet. I'd say the price is a bit high looking at the scoop sizes which were small ( but considering it is organic I guess).
