    Lime Margarita
    Wendy C.

The first time I visited I only had a flight of tequila and it was near closing time. Gustavo the bartender was very welcoming and seated us promptly. I was surprised by the tequila presentation as I only expected shots alone. The presentation of the tequila flight was fun and unexpectedly turned out to be an opportunity to learn about culture. At my second visit, I visited solo and ordered both food and drinks this time. Talia greeted and seated me right away. She and Gustavo were both super nice and made me feel safe and comfortable at the bar. Armando was also very friendly and cordial. The asada taco was surprisingly good. They did not skimp on the meat. Also the chips and salsa are soooo good. My favorite is the red salsa. I love how the chips are thin and crunchy. If you like margaritas, I highly recommend the Lime Margarita. So good! La Huasteca is the type of place where you can visit alone or with friends and have a pleasant time no matter what. Definitely will be back.

The food and drinks are quite tasty here. Located at the top of the mall in a Korean mall/plaza. Went for a friend's bday and we enjoyed their margaritas and I tried their Enchilada Huasteca. Flavor was really yummy and it's the first time trying enchiladas cooked and seasoned with the green tomatillo sauce. The service was ok. There wasn't that many people, and our server wasn't quite attentive. The guy who came to sing happy birthday was more attentive! It was still quite enjoyable and would go back and order some more food!

We spent the weekend in Buena Park and visited the Source outdoor Korean mall. At the very top of the mall, on the third floor, is La Huasteca, which is a Mexican restaurant centered around a bunch of Korean restaurants and bars. Once we arrived they were understaffed but the bartender came from behind the bar to help us and prepare a table outside for us. My friend ordered noodles and wanted to eat with us and they were cool about it. After cleaning our table, they quickly brought us menus and took or drink orders. Finally a waitress came and helped us so the bartender could go back to attending to the bar and she was also great. Service was solid. The only thing they messed up on was bringing our guacamole and chips after we had our meals. I went with the salmon Puerta Vallarta with rice, which was very good! It does come with Habanero peppers and I made the unfortunate mistake of eating one and burning my mouth. My kids ordered a cheese burger with fries and a bean & cheese burrito with fries. They both enjoyed their meals. My wife went with the chicken fajitas and I had a few pieces of chicken, which was really good. Overall, the food was good and I would go back if at the mall and wanted something other than Korean food. The servers and bartender were great! OOOO 4 out of 5 Afros

My family and I were craving tacos so, we decided to go to this Mexican restaurant located on the 3rd floor of a Korean shopping mall. Lol! There is free parking at the structure next door. There was a consensus for Ensenada Fish Tacos and the Quesabirria Tacos at my table. One person did ordered Potato Tacos and I don't even see that on the menu. Everyone at my table seemed to enjoy their food. For every 1 Quesabirria taco, you get a small sauce container of a nice and tangy consome. The breaded part of the fish taco was darker than I usually find them to be, and it did taste like it was fried for too long. They are generous with all the ingredients in the taco -- it's a big bite. We enjoyed our cucumber agua fresca. It wasn't too sweet and they made sure to give us a glass half- full of ice so we could have more of what we actually pay for. The staff was wonderful and very attentive. The food came out in a timely manner, our water glasses were always full and we walked out of the restaurant pretty satisfied with our experience. It's a great place to have a birthday party! Tell all your friends about it. The birthday celebrant will get to wear a big Mariachi Sombrero!

My family of 7 came here for dinner the other night while on vacation and we are so glad we did! Our server was excellent and the food was so fresh and beautifully plated. Our kids loved everything they got and the Cadillac margarita was delicious and fresh as well.

La Huasteca is a nice chill Mexican restaurant you can get together with friends and family. I have been a couple times already and it's not too loud inside which is nice so you can actually talk to the people you go with. The food and service is good but it does seem they were understaffed when we went or the staff wasn't as attentive. The food is pretty good! I got the camarones locos which is basically like a seafood boil bag, it wasn't terrible but I wouldn't get it again. If you haven't been here it's worth a try! Since the last time I've been it seems they changed their menu so I have included an updated picture.

Tonight, I had dinner with my coworkers at La Huastrca. On Wednesdays, margarita liters are $25, which felt like a great deal. We ordered the mango flavor but received lime instead. It wasn't what we expected, but it was still enjoyable. The nachos came in a smaller portion than I thought, though they tasted good. For their signature dish, Molcajete, we chose the seafood, but what arrived was mostly meat. We mentioned it, but since we didn't want to wait, we decided to just go ahead and eat it. When the check came, the margarita was charged at $30 instead of $25, but the server corrected it right away after we pointed it out. The atmosphere was lively and pleasant, but the service left a little to be desired. Still, since it was our team's first dinner together, we all had a nice time, even if there were a few small disappointments along the way.

This restaurant is in the Source mall, on the top floor. Food was ok nothing out of the ordinary. We ordered guacamole, shrimp ceviche, Mexican Ceasar salad with grilled chicken, two fish tacos, one shrimp taco, and one asada taco. The shrimp taco had way too much batter - there was only two shrimp inside the batter. I took the batter off as it was just too much. The other tacos were had by my friends and they said the tacos were just OK. The restaurant was pretty empty on a Saturday during lunch time. We had to flag down the server to get refills on water & sodas. They were nice about letting us have the cake at the restaurant (one of the friends brought it for bday) & provided paper plates & plastic forks for them. It was open, airy & had a nice atmosphere.

My aunt suggested this place because my husband was looking for good Mexican food. I was a little leery seeing the reviews. Tucked away in the top floor in the corner of this Korean-infused shopping establishment is a Mexican restaurant with amazing and delicious food! Hidden gem! The chips were thin, crisp and light. They tasted fresh. I wish they had mild salsa though. Otherwise, great start. I could eat 3 baskets of their chips! They have an extensive menu of margaritas. Lots of fruity flavors. Very strong but tasty. We ordered: Carnitas Burrito - huge! Hubby loved the carnitas. He said it was very good. Street Tacos - looked delicious. My aunt ate them all. Cochinita Pibil - looked fancy as it was beautifully plated. My son devoured it. Pulpo Carbonizado - Grilled octopus was fantastic! Great smoky flavor. Everything on the sizzling plate was grilled perfectly! The asparagus, the corn, the potatoes, but the octopus was soooooo good. Tender, charred and succulent. I'd order this again. Service was good. No complaints. I'd come back.

Food: 4* Service: 4* Ambiance: 4* Prices: 3* Enjoyed dinner with the fam. I ordered the spicy seafood 4* (half an avocado, shrimp, scallops, and octopus 8! A slightly spicy oil based sauce with sautéed onions). I also had the ceviche tostada 5*). My partner ordered the mixed fajitas (shrimp, chicken, and steak) which comes with rice and beans and pico de gallo (4*). Another family member ordered two carne asada tacos (4*). My step father in law ordered the queso fundido with chorizo (4*). They brought a small amount of chips and red (4*) and green (5*) salsas. Happy hour lime margaritas (3*). The food was good, as was the service, although it did need salt. The portions were large so it helped to offset the elevated prices. I would return.

Driving home "closes in 29 minutes"

Drove out of our way to come here. We showed up at 8:15 pm and they said they're closed for the night. Says 9 pm on maps (see screenshot below)

Great food! We loved the mango margaritas, and the nachoes were also fantastic! The molcajete was also delicious, and we loved the options on the seafood one (shrimp scallop octopus fish 1/2 lobster). The seafood felt very fresh and paired wonderfully. While the food was delicous, we did find that service wasn't as great. Maybe it was a busy day but our waiter did not drop by with napkins and took a while to get the check from us. But overall great and would definitely return

We came to La Huasteca with a large party of 10 (our reservation was originally for 8), and although we had to wait about 15-20 minutes for a bigger table to open up, we eventually got seated once another large group left. I ordered the ribeye steak, which came with asparagus and corn. The steak was good, but I was a little surprised it didn't include beans and rice, so we had to order those as a side. The chips and salsa were actually really good and a nice way to start the meal. Unfortunately, the experience felt a bit rushed since we weren't able to order dessert -- the kitchen was closing at 10. They also seemed understaffed, and I honestly felt bad for our waitress because she was doing her best trying to handle multiple tables at once.

We…read morefirst returned in early June since they introduced some new cocktails and food to the menu. The other visits were just because this is by far our number one place. Recently added cocktails: Buzzin' Jungle Bird (Jamaican gold rum, coffee infused campari, dark rum, pineapple, lime, hemp orgeat, cane, Angostura bitters). This is a great spin on a jungle bird, with some complexity and coffee flavor. I'm usually not a big fan of coffee, but it is at a good level. Chi Chi (Whey vodka, pineapple, lime, date, honey, coconut, salt). This has a great creamy texture which I believe comes from the dairy component of the whey vodka. It is well balanced with some sweetness, and I could taste the coconut and date flavors. Lapu Lapu (Asian rum, Jamaican rum, dry curacao, lime, orgeat, demerara). It is juicy, well balanced, and served with a flaming sugar cube on top. This is the cocktail they chose to serve at their booth at Tiki Oasis recently which says a lot, try it! Thai Me Down (Barbados rum, coconut liqueur, papaya, lemon, demerara, Thai basil). It is served old-fashioned style, and was light and perfectly balanced. Those Thai inspired flavors were all noticeable. Demerara Dry Float. They added and took this one off the menu as of now. It was a balanced light citrusy drink which was served with a delicious sidecar of Hamilton 151 rum infused with banana chips. I sipped half of that and mixed the rest into the cocktail. It was served with a beautiful ice shell. I'm guessing it was too labor intensive, and took up a lot of space in their freezers. Recently added food: Ahi Poke Nachos (marinated ahi tuna, masago, avocado, cucumber, spicy mayo, furikake, green onion). This is such a tasty starter with so many textures and flavors. I love that the nachos are wontons too, and not just chips. Crab & Cream cheese wontons. Nice crisp wontons with a good amount of crab and cream cheese inside. The chili sauce and spicy mayo adds another layer of flavor, and there is a slice of jalapeno on top for a little heat. Pan-Seared Scallops. This was an excellent lighter entrée. The four scallops are cooked perfectly, and even have a little dollop of caviar on top. I liked the mix of veggies and really liked the bed of potato puree underneath. Steak & Eggs (8oz hanger steak, crying tiger glaze, Nam Jim Jaew sauce, sunny eggs, rice). I normally wouldn't try steak & eggs for dinner, but I can't resist a good hanger steak. It was cooked a perfect medium rare and I appreciate that it was pre-sliced. The crying tiger glaze and sauce were so flavorful. There's plenty of rice to soak up any left egg yolk or sauce. Recently added desserts: Dubai Chocolate Lava Cake. This was excellent, but it's definitely sweet and rich. Save some room if you plan on ordering this. Ube Flan Cake. I'm usually not a fan of flan, but I have to try anything with ube and this was good. The cake had nice ube flavor, and I liked that the flan was a little firm since the looser custardy/gelatinous texture is not for me. This is definitely a lighter dessert than the lava cake. It's not a new drink, but I also had the Naval Grog for the first time. (Lost Voyage rum, overproof white rum, allspice dram, lime, grapefruit, demerara, honey). It is boozy with nice spice notes. Other repeat cocktails enjoyed were Tales from the Black Lagoon (my favorite), Missionary's Downfall, Agave Parrot, Singapore Sling, and Serpents Grasp all of which are excellent. Their cocktails, food, ambiance, and service are always top notch. Thank you Ying, Erica, Greg, Jordan, Joey, Iris, Karen, Kyle, Joy, and John for your wonderful hospitality during our visits. We will return again soon!

I think this is on everyone's speakeasy list!…read more Make sure you make a reservation It is very packed. They offer bar seating and booth / table Follow the wall from Randy's donuts and Look for a wall of Japanese sake/beer barrels and head towards the restaurant - the rolling boil. There will be a check in host and stand there and wait (it will be located up against the wall with a big secret door right next to the hostess station) It's very New York inside. When I first came in Spring with the amazing, Karen, the menu and everything was great Now, I took my friend who was in town from Nashville and it was a brand new theme. It's the great Gatsby. Even our waitress, Jasmine was dressed for the occasion. I would say this place is known for Absinthe. They have cocktails featuring it or you can get one of the huge apparatus (huge and glowing green) which, if you are into it? I highly recommend. Just one of the huge apparatus makes one regular drink. Or, what Karen and I did, was split it and make it into a shot for the both of us. The waitress comes out and shows you how it works and goes over everything. Karen, who I came with, was a pro and knew her way around it. She showed me the ropes lol. Honestly, if you are here? When in Rome. Go all out and try it, since it's where they shine here. They took off a few menu items and added some themed drinks. ( a couple new champagne themed drinks) They have big entree items but I suggest small bites and sharing and mostly coming for the drinks. There's no bathroom inside, so you do have to leave the bar and go to the closest one (over behind Randy's donuts) and then enter the speakeasy again Both times coming here I've never had an issue. It's a small, packed place. And yet they still have the cocktails flowing and the food coming out in a good time. So the food and drinks are good Atmosphere is lovely. Service is good. Especially for it usually being very busy in here This place is located inside the Anaheim packing district. So I suggest hitting up a couple other spots before or afterwards for some more food or drinks P.S. it is very dark In here. They never cared if we used our light to look at the menu. However, they do not want flash photography They also do not strictly enforce a dress code (my friend from Nashville asked) however, they suggest dressing business casual and not too underdressed

Just hard liquor taste and undrinkable :( the bartender kindly offered another drink. Unfortunately none of the food was the least bit good. Steak and fries was ordered medium rare and cooked to medium well with what seemed like no seasoning was on there at all. Crab cake was just ok and the slaw beneath it was drenched in a vinaigrette that was just sour and unpleasant. And the Mac and cheese, as we were very hopeful and looking forward to, was probably the blandest Mac and cheese we ever had. We asked the lady bartender for salt and she handed us, no exaggeration (and you guys will probably think I am) a salt shaker with 10 grains of salt in it and said "looks like there's a lil something you could still get out of there" My jaw dropped. But yeah. The shredded meat on top of the Mac and cheese was cooked beyond the point of edible. That one was unfortunately sent back bc we just couldn't eat it. We were bummed over all mostly about the food.

Everybody was to the nines in their attire. The hostess was so friendly and welcoming. She sat us on a high table in the outside patio area. We didn't even have reservations but she still managed to make it happen. Our server was great (Migel) as well throughout the whole night he had about like maybe six or eight tables still managed to serve our table in an orderly manner, orders take drink orders and maintain it throughout the whole time we were there for dinner. Food here is so next level... The beautiful cuisine to match, so so delicious. Latin flare is alive and well here they had a live band from Miami. It was a cherry on top. It was PERFECT Definitely will be saving this place for future visits when in the area! Great food, service impeccable, and establishment clean, and well presented. Thanks for all make this place special. We enjoyed ourselves me and my family.thank you Migel for making it great.

The ceviche was a little sweet, which was different, but still really good. The empanadas were good too, we had the beef so next time i want to try a different protein I got the chicken sandwich. Pretty simple, but really good. The fires were good, i like the shoe string ones. My coworker got the habanero salmon and I tried some of hers. I was expecting it to be spicy, but it really wasn't. I don't have a high spice tolerance and it was fine for me. Service was okay, but the restaurant was clean and modern. Prices were pretty reasonable too, especially nowadays. Overall, good food, reasonable prices and for sure somewhere I'd go back to

The shrimp wonton noodle soup was light and delicate, and I also really enjoyed the wood ear mushrooms, cucumber, and cabbage salad. Everything felt fresh and balanced. The restaurant itself is spacious, beautiful, and looks newly renovated. A really nice setting for a more modern Chinese dining experience. I also liked that the base of the dish is vegan, and you can have the meat served on the side, which makes it easy to accommodate different dietary preferences.

We came when happy hour was going on (2-5 pm M-F), and it seemed they had a good selection for that alone. Otherwise, their regular menu was pretty extensive and they had so many unique options. We had dinner to go to so unfortunately we couldn't order too much. I would have loved to order more food! We ended up ordering the following: - Chili crunch burrata: This is chef's kiss. I love burrata in general and it was so unique to have chili crisp mixed with the burrata. The pickled shallot provided a nice balance. I loved the Chinese donut to eat with the burrata. It was hot and fresh, and contrasted very nicely with the burrata. I really wished they gave a bit more Chinese donut so that the ratio of cheese to dip was better. We really had to eat a LOT of cheese to go with the Chinese donut we had left. The hostess said this was also one of her favorite dishes. - Chicken cartilage with Mala BBQ spice: This was surprisingly meatier than I thought (thought there would be more cartilage). It was deep fried and the mala dip was spicy, as promised! - Stir fried ong choy with garlic (not part of happy hour): This was solid, and they gave a generous amount of ong choy. Service was very friendly at the front and when they served our food. The restaurant is beautiful, and feels upscale. It is nice enough for entertaining guests and for dates. I would totally come back to try their other dishes.

On July 23, 2022, we came here with a whopping 20 group members! The place had only recently opened at the time and was incredibly popular, so there was a line to get in. A few of us drove all the way from LA to Orange County together, arrived early, and waited in line. I still remember how surprised the server was when we told them we had a party of 20! Then, on March 30, 2025, we came back again with 10 members from our group, and we had such a fun time together. All of the dishes and drinking snacks here are delicious, the servers are always friendly, and the restaurant is spacious enough to comfortably accommodate a large group. It's definitely a great spot for group gatherings. A few days ago, we were talking in our group about where we should have our next gathering, and someone mentioned this place. It reminded me of all the fun times we've had here, so I decided it was finally time to write a review! I definitely recommend this place, especially if you're looking for a fun Korean-style pocha that can accommodate a large group.
