Toast was one of the names I dropped in the metaphorical hat, and it won the vote of a few. My friends were surprised that I had named a spot I hadn't yet tried since I'm usually the "foodie" of the group. However, another girl in the group who had been here before vouched for it. I'm glad I finally got to try this place this past weekend, and I cannot wait to return! There were so many things on their menu that I wanted to try. A couple of the ladies ordered green chilaquiles, the friend we were celebrating ordered the Spanish Omelet, another woman I'd met that day had the bacon and eggs, another one ordered the Biscuits and grave with a side of bacon that looked perfectly crispy. I wish I had taken pictures of the plates as it all looked so lovely! I didn't even take a picture of my own food haha. I had my eyes on an omelet, one of the Benedicts or the Chicken n Waffle. In the end, the chicken and waffle won. It comes served with a little container of maple syrup with bacon pieces. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The waffle was delicious, though I did request for some extra syrup on the side. To drink, a few ladies ordered mimosas, one ordered an iced caramel coffee, and I ordered the Carajillo. I fell in love with this drink last summer in Mexico and do not often see it on the menu. I love the subtle citrus notes the Licor 43 adds to this espresso drink. It is very similar to an espresso martini, and theirs comes topped with a toasted marshmallow. I honestly wanted to try almost every item in their Tipsy Barista section of their drinks. I'll just have to come back that many more times :) Plenty of parking in the mall lot. It does get pretty packed during peak hours. Fortunately I had called ahead to put our group of 6 down. We went in on Saturday around 11:30. It slowed down a bit while we were eating, but started to get busy again after 1. Otherwise, we might have been forced to honor their 90-minute rule. All in all, a great experience from everyone in our group. No complaints on the wait, service or food. That certainly deserves a toast. Great job, Toast!

They also were very attentive and refilled our water without us asking. I got the rigatoni a las vodka with chicken, and my two other friends got the baked rigatoni and the fettuccine Alfredo. Our dishes were delicious and perfectly seasoned. We also ordered the chocolate Gelato and tiramasu for dessert. Those were a perfect night cap to our dinner and catch up session. The restaurant is deceptively big and had a whole back area, I am guessing for large parties. It was very clean and we were able to catch up without any issues. I definitely recommend coming here for the food and excellent service.

I'm glad this place opened up in my hometown. Cerritos was definitely lacking an açaí place and Island Bodega fills the void. You can't go wrong customizing your own bowl with unlimited toppings for free! The small is $7 and is worth it. They pack your bowl with whatever bases you'd like from acai, pitaya, blue island, matcha, and coconut cream. I got the açaí and blue island and excited to try the other flavors next time. They sure don't skimp on the toppings here and you can get as many toppings as you'd like. When I went here one girl got literally everything and the guy Jeff made the bowl look so aesthetic. There's another girl here too that is super patient and has the best customer service she's Asian with glasses. Parking here is a little easier to find since it's on the corner lot so you can utilize Aldis parking or behind the building. Don't forget to try their island bodega latte iced. It's def my top 3 coffees of all time. It just blends in together so smoothly and I can't find this flavor anywhere else! I'm definitely going to frequent Island Bodega when I can cause it makes a good meal replacement for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. But today it was my dessert! I had the most delicious acai bowl ever at Island Bodega. It was so refreshing and totally energizing. I ordered the blue chia bowl, which had acai, matcha, blue chia, banana, strawberry, blueberries, and kiwi. The fruits were super fresh and the toppings were generous. I loved the hemp granola and the cacao nibs that added some crunch and flavor. The bowl was also very filling and satisfying. The customer service was very nice and friendly. They greeted me with a smile and took my order quickly. The shop was clean and cozy, with lots of plants and a good vibe. I enjoyed sitting at the counter and watching them make the bowls. Island Bodega is definitely my new favorite spot for acai bowls. They have a great selection of bases, fruits, and toppings, and you can also create your own bowl if you want. The service has noticeably declined, with employees being unpleasant and lacking basic courtesy. Additionally, my family and I are very dissatisfied with the quality of the bananas you now carry. We strongly prefer fresh, firm bananas, but recently, the only option has been overly ripened ones. Moreover, I've noticed a decline in the portion sizes, particularly with how skimpy the bowls are layered, which leaves us feeling like we're not getting the same value we once did. I was looking for poke for lunch 12/18/19 at 12:05pm but ended up going to this newly soft opened acai place. Gorgeous looking and well built, plenty of seating arrangements. First thing you'll notice is the lit up turtle on the wall and window which is a nice touch for pics. They had ENDLESS amount of toppings and drizzles condiments, I've had a couple of acai bowls in Hawaii but having it closer to home less than 3 miles is a kudo! The staff was super friendly and outgoing! You can try samples if you're not familiar which I recommend doing for first timers! Menu is super easy and pricing is on point. (Man this city has everything) I stumbled across this place because I used to take all my shawtys to North Shore but it closed down. The toppings also were yummy and fresh. Overall, I loved my bowl and will definitely be returning. The store itself is clean and I love the decor! Service was also friendly and efficient. There are some seats inside if you wanted to have your drink or bowl there, but most people, including myself, took it to go. The store is located in a pretty large plaza with plenty of parking.

We ordered the French Toast, which is supposed to be topped with nuts, blueberry sauce, powdered sugar, and whipped cream. Surprisingly, it only came out with powdered sugar. This was very disappointing. Even if the price is great, the items being advertised should be what is served. As for the Eggs Benedict, which we also ordered, I thought the taste was lovely. However, I fail to see how this establishment-food and service-wise-differs from a typical American breakfast chain.
