First time here and I can see why the line is so long at 9:30pm! I was craving an açaí bowl and of course at 9pm all places are closed. Thank you Yelp for leading me to this little popular gem! They have a wide selection of bowls with so many ingredients to chose from. They have 3 friendly workers asking what ingredients you want, each at a different station of items, like base, fruits and dry toppings. Anything can be customized around the bowl you chose from their menu or make one of your own. The ambiance is totally chill but with only 3 tables be ready to take it to go if there's no room. They do have a lot of free standing chairs to hang around in as well. Glad I was able to satisfy my sweet tooth tonight with a healthy option. I'll be back!

One of my favorite acai spots in Long Beach! The bowls are always fresh, delicious, and satisfying. Some of my fav topics are pumpkin seeds and almond slices for a healthy crunch (skip or go light on granola). I love kiwis and not very many acai shops offer it. The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming. Definitely a go-to whenever I'm craving a good acai.

Driven by this place 100s of times and kept wanting to come by to give it a try....well today was the perfect time to finally drop by after going to Aldi.... The staff were nice and friendly the place is clean and relaxing...but I got mine to go.... I got the Island Bowl with a few modifications....and as mentioned to go.... I felt like it was pretty fresh and really good actually. I'll have to drop by again another day to get one!

Stopped by Island Bodega and grabbed two açaí bowls and wow... didn't expect to be this impressed. Both bowls were super fresh, perfectly chilled, and not overly sweet like some places that just load it with syrup. You can actually taste the real açaí, which I appreciated. The fruit toppings were bright, ripe, and generous (not skimpy at all), and the granola had that perfect crunch without being rock hard. One bowl leaned more classic and refreshing, the other had a slightly richer, dessert vibe--both hit in their own way. Also, the presentation was clean and pretty (yes, it matters), and everything tasted like it was made with care, not rushed. You can tell they're consistent with quality.

The chocolate flavor is really good, will not be too sweet or bitter. The banana slice makes a good combination with it, recommend to add some pumpkin seeds for rich mouth feeling. Turtle loves it!!

Island Bodega is hands down one of my favorite acai spots. I got the small build-your-own for $11, which is honestly such a great deal for unlimited bases and toppings. You get so much flexibility, and I love how customizable everything is. The bases are always the perfect texture and never icy. Everything just tastes super fresh and it's consistently good every time I go. Definitely my go-to when I'm craving acai and in the area!

i have no doubt this place has potential. ive seen posts and previous reviews being good, and just like everyone else my bf and i saw the promo and decided to order online to try it for the first time. ended up having to cancel our order due to the conditions of it all. personally, we dont mind cancelling because we weren't willing to wait, but we do hope and expect to get the refund. as someone who has worked in food service during a rush, they should not have opened today WITH a promo AND the condition of the store not being able to withhold their standards. BIG big big shoutout to the workers for showing up and trying their best. i know the patience was low and stressful, but it was hard to see them go through this due to the lack of organization by whoever manages this place. i hope they get better management and can come back from this bad day. read more

This bowl is a serious contender for the most high-functioning breakfast in the territory. My lady friend and I have been rolling into Island Bodega for years now. It's become a bit of a natural, zesty enterprise for us. The Lowdown on the Goods: * The Blue Base: It's got a very specific resonance. I don't know if it's the spirulina or some other mystical enzyme, but it's definitely not "world of pain" territory. It's a literal ocean in a plastic cup, man. Very peaceful. * The Nut Butter: They don't skimp. I am blown away by how amazing an experience it was eating the island bowl. The acai itself isn't like others; here it is creamy and dense, almost like a gelato texture, and the sweetness isn't overwhelming as bite after bite, I can still taste the acai. The strawberries and blueberries were fresh and had a plump bite, and the banana had a good ripeness with no mush. The blue island texture was a nice contrast as it was more of a sorbet, with sweetness similar to the acai. Service was great as I wasn't rushed, and the employees offered samples if I was unsure about any of the flavors and items offered. There is plenty seating, tables were clean, and employees were super friendly and helpful. Island Bodega will be my acai spot whenever I visit family down here. read more

I love how I can customize my own bowl with unlimited toppings each time. Personally I love their matcha base more than other açaí places, even their peanut butter tastes creamier than other places. Island Bodega is my local spot for acai and pitaya bowls. I ordered their dragon bowl and it was topped nicely with all the ingredients. They topped the bowl with a cashew butter, which made it feel like a filling meal. What's a more classic combo than nut butter and fruit? The refreshing fruits, crispiness from nuts/granola, creaminess from the nut butter, and chewiness from the dried fruits make it such a well-balanced morning meal. read more

I am going to rank this fairly high when it comes to açaí bowls - it's very quaint and cozy inside. It was super busy on the day we went - but it still had a sort of calmness about it. Both açaí bowls we got were fantastic, I highly recommend the blue base it's so good. The staff was friendly, and very helpful and let us sample the different bases. Though the staff was friendly, they just seemed to not really know what they were doing had to many chefs in the kitchen - that was really my main issue was telling our order two to three times to different people as they kept handing off the bowls. I will note - for anyone who is familiar with this shopping plaza that the parking is horrible, but this has nothing to do with the business. Definitely will be going back. read more

Not sure if this place has real acai as compared to pur bowls or blue bowls in Long Beach. This açaí turns into all corn fructose syrup after you freeze it and then thaw it out to eat it then next day. Try it yourself but I don't think it's genuine acai. It seems to be all sugar and syrups. I gained weight when eating these acai bowls from here. read more

My drink had a cloud cream top and the drink was delicious to the last drop. I've had the chorizo & egg croissant, not my fave. But their chocolate croissant and their bacon cheddar scone was perfect! I've come back a total of three times now, and I live in the west San Fernando Valley for reference. Lucky for me, it's near my sister's house. The service is great, they have ample seating and a good amount of parking. You can work or study here. They also have merch!

You can't go wrong with any of them, but my top favorite are the Birthday, Fruity Pebble, Horchata, Cappuccino and Ferrero Rocher. However, there were a couple of dirty plates left sitting on tables while one employee seemed more focused on organizing napkins instead of clearing them. I also wasn't too sure how fresh the cakes were since they had been sitting in the display. Whether I come back really depends on the flavor and quality of the food and drinks next time around.

I later asked my wife how she felt about the interaction, and she didn't see it that way, so it may just be a difference in perception or that I took it out of context. However, I do feel that asking someone where they go and then implying they are saying it incorrectly--especially if it's not pronounced with a specific accent--can come across as unnecessary or dismissive. My wife liked the coffee .....but one star from me I didn't even get a coffee. By the way I don't think I'll be back tho she will not me

For the price they charge, you'd expect high-quality ingredients and a decent shelf life, but it just feels cheap and poorly made. Save your money and your health. I won't be coming back. PS. It's a blessing in disguise that they're currently closed because a car ran into their front store.

I tasted it and it has a good, distinct mango taste. The boba had good texture and chew. He didn't know what the big jelly squares were. I told him that's the jelly lol. I tasted a bit of it. It has no taste (imo) but he liked it. And once he got to the bottom of his drink, there were big chunks of mango which were hard to slurp up in the straw. This place has cute decor. Very simple. It's a place worth stopping by again and trying out the other drinks they have.

I'm glad this place opened up in my hometown. Cerritos was definitely lacking an açaí place and Island Bodega fills the void. You can't go wrong customizing your own bowl with unlimited toppings for free! The small is $7 and is worth it. They pack your bowl with whatever bases you'd like from acai, pitaya, blue island, matcha, and coconut cream. I got the açaí and blue island and excited to try the other flavors next time. They sure don't skimp on the toppings here and you can get as many toppings as you'd like. When I went here one girl got literally everything and the guy Jeff made the bowl look so aesthetic. There's another girl here too that is super patient and has the best customer service she's Asian with glasses. Parking here is a little easier to find since it's on the corner lot so you can utilize Aldis parking or behind the building. Don't forget to try their island bodega latte iced. It's def my top 3 coffees of all time. It just blends in together so smoothly and I can't find this flavor anywhere else! I'm definitely going to frequent Island Bodega when I can cause it makes a good meal replacement for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. But today it was my dessert! I had the most delicious acai bowl ever at Island Bodega. It was so refreshing and totally energizing. I ordered the blue chia bowl, which had acai, matcha, blue chia, banana, strawberry, blueberries, and kiwi. The fruits were super fresh and the toppings were generous. I loved the hemp granola and the cacao nibs that added some crunch and flavor. The bowl was also very filling and satisfying. The customer service was very nice and friendly. They greeted me with a smile and took my order quickly. The shop was clean and cozy, with lots of plants and a good vibe. I enjoyed sitting at the counter and watching them make the bowls. Management clearly did not think this promotion through before announcing it. Better planning could have prevented the chaos that happened today. The employees seemed lost and overwhelmed, which points to a lack of preparation from management. However one employee in particular she said her name is katelyn was unnecessarily rude. I understand that dealing with a large crowd is frustrating, but customers were not attacking her we were all waiting for our orders and looking for information. Even in a stressful situation basic customer service should still be expected. I waited an hour and a half before eventually canceling my order. To make matters worse, I now have to wait 5-7 business days for a refund. The entire experience felt like a waste of everyone's time and effort. This promotion was poorly managed from the start, and both customers and employees ended up dealing with the consequences. read more

I was looking for poke for lunch 12/18/19 at 12:05pm but ended up going to this newly soft opened acai place. Gorgeous looking and well built, plenty of seating arrangements. First thing you'll notice is the lit up turtle on the wall and window which is a nice touch for pics. They had ENDLESS amount of toppings and drizzles condiments, I've had a couple of acai bowls in Hawaii but having it closer to home less than 3 miles is a kudo! The staff was super friendly and outgoing! You can try samples if you're not familiar which I recommend doing for first timers! Menu is super easy and pricing is on point. Island Bodega is a hidden gem in Cerritos! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere. The selection of island-inspired products is fantastic--everything from snacks, drinks, and specialty items you won't find anywhere else. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and you can tell they take pride in the quality and freshness of their products. Saw somebody post about this place on Instagram, so I decided to check them out. I don't know which is better: their customer service or the quality of their bowls! I must admit, I was that annoying customer that walked in 10 minutes before closing and they were tremendously welcoming and helpful! I work in Long Beach and frequent 'blue bowl' and although they're good this place blows them out of the water! Such authentic flavor and great variety of toppings for an amazing price! Will be returning and bringing friends with me. Highly recommend!! read more

I'd definitely give Island Bodega five stars. The bowls are easily the best thing on the menu--they're super fresh, packed with flavor, and you can tell the ingredients are high quality. The combinations are really well put together, especially their signature bowls, and everything tastes balanced, not overly sweet. The vibe is also really nice--clean, bright, and chill. It's a great spot if you want something healthy but still actually good. Overall, the bowls are definitely the favorites for a reason, and I'd come back anytime. read more
