Went to try this place during their BOGO deal. I sampled a few of the bases, and they were all really good. Love that you can add unlimited toppings at no extra charge. The blueberry one was so good -- I loved it. The strawberry wasn't in season, so it was a bit sour. I also liked all the butters they offered -- it really added a nice creamy richness to the bowl. Staff was friendly and quick of making the order. They checked every steps if I was ok with everything and need any adjustments. Location have plenty of parking. Inside was cute, aesthetics and clean. Overall, I'd give it 4/5 stars -- everything tasted great, but I probably wouldn't buy a single bowl at full price. read more

I ordered from Island Bodega from Uber eats I got the cacaoconut bowl. It came a little melty which was understandable given it took 30 minutes to get to me. I enjoyed the bowl and would consider going again. Really delicious bowl with friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere! It seemed pricey until I got the bowls and realized it was well worth it. The ingredients are superb! And the variety they pack into each bowl is amazing. I like all their preset bowls, to make the ordering easy. But I do love a crunch in my food, so I swap out soft coconut for toasted coconut. My friend got her bowl without the peanut butter and you can see the individual seeds and stuff better, making a gorgeous bowl. Weekday @ 3pm wasn't too busy so we got to sit around chatting and enjoying our bowls. read more

Stumbled in here after a sweaty pickleball sesh and honestly... 10/10 life decision. Nothing hits quite like an icy açaí bowl when you're one dink away from heatstroke. DIY açaí bowls? Genius. Unlimited toppings?? Dangerous. I went full kid in a candy store mode and may or may not have created a fruit + granola + peanut butter mountain that would put Everest to shame. Fresh ingredients all around, and bonus points for the staff who actually encourage you to sample the bases--truly the Costco of superfoods. Parking? Massive lot outside. Service? Friendly, patient (even with my "is 12 toppings too many?" crisis), and fast. Only catch: the price-to-portion ratio is a bit on the "LA smoothie tax" side. We often make the 25-30 minute drive out here to get our bowl. In general, we love this place. However, today was such poor management, it should be noted. They had the poor workers in there with no AC, not nearly enough staff coverage for a BOGO free promo, and not enough product. We weren't even able to wait for a bowl because they didn't have enough to serve everyone. I genuinely feel bad for them. They probably had the worst customer service day of work of their lives. VERY poorly managed promo. Big bummer. This is not the first issue with their promos, though it is the worst I have seen; we were turned away 1.5 hours before closing. I'm not sure why we aren't learning :( Suggestions: have an in-store option for the promo for customers in case the app is not functioning, increase staffing for special promotional deals, expedite store repairs so your staff are working in livable conditions read more

Food 5/5: Got the Island Bowl and Albatross Bowl and both were great. I personally preferred the Albatross of the two. The flavors of all the ingredients really mix well together and are a refreshing treat on a summer day. Service 5/5: Our bowls were made quickly and all the toppings taste fresh! The açaí was fine, but the service was genuinely TERRIBLE. Both employees acted like having a customer was a massive inconvenience. They were throwing utensils/items around while preparing my order, giving me attitude, and creating such an unpleasant atmosphere that I genuinely considered leaving without even taking the bowl. I finally said, "Damn, y'all are rude up in here," and only THEN did my order start getting handled with basic care. If being directly called out is what it takes to receive normal customer service, there is a serious problem with the staff here. I don't expect anyone to perform happiness at work, but I do expect basic professionalism when I'm paying for something. The attitude, carelessness, and complete lack of customer service were honestly embarrassing. Management seriously needs to address whoever was working this shift because this was easily one of the worst service experiences I've had anywhere. Would absolutely not return. The açaí is nowhere near good enough to justify dealing with employees who act irritated that you walked through the door. read more

Love this place but bad roll out for a promo... This is one of my GO TO places for açaí bowls which says a lot so I was stoked to hear they were doing a BOGO promotion. The only thing was the experience of it was pretty clumsy and one of the ladies making the bowls made an announcement to listen for names was rude and condescending to the point where her coworker said to tone it down. Everyone else seemed chill, especially the lady behind the register calling out the names. Again, love this place but better execution for that kind of big promo. read more

Love this place! They have a huge variety of acai bowl options. They are open most of the day so it's convenient to go in the morning or at night. I usually order the lili bowl with no adjustments. The bowls come with a lot of toppings so there usually isn't a need to modify the order. Staff is very friendly and welcoming! read more

Price is a bit higher than other places with similar products. They are an acai bowl place with unlimited toppings for their bowls and also offer coffee drinks and merchandise. Some of the unique qualities of Island bodega are their island base and blue chia seed pudding, both of which use spirulina and give the foods a light blue color. The island base also has pineapple in it, but it's pretty mild overall - the equivalent of a vanilla for their fruity base options. They also have a crispy bee pollen topping which I had never seen before. Staff was friendly and patient with my questions about the different toppings and bases they had. I appreciated that they let me try a sample of the island base before committing to it! The store is a bit small but the decorations are cute and they have large windows so it's relaxing to eat there if it's not busy. read more

I'm glad this place opened up in my hometown. Cerritos was definitely lacking an açaí place and Island Bodega fills the void. You can't go wrong customizing your own bowl with unlimited toppings for free! The small is $7 and is worth it. They pack your bowl with whatever bases you'd like from acai, pitaya, blue island, matcha, and coconut cream. I got the açaí and blue island and excited to try the other flavors next time. They sure don't skimp on the toppings here and you can get as many toppings as you'd like. When I went here one girl got literally everything and the guy Jeff made the bowl look so aesthetic. There's another girl here too that is super patient and has the best customer service she's Asian with glasses. Parking here is a little easier to find since it's on the corner lot so you can utilize Aldis parking or behind the building. Don't forget to try their island bodega latte iced. It's def my top 3 coffees of all time. It just blends in together so smoothly and I can't find this flavor anywhere else! I'm definitely going to frequent Island Bodega when I can cause it makes a good meal replacement for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. But today it was my dessert! I had the most delicious acai bowl ever at Island Bodega. It was so refreshing and totally energizing. I ordered the blue chia bowl, which had acai, matcha, blue chia, banana, strawberry, blueberries, and kiwi. The fruits were super fresh and the toppings were generous. I was looking for poke for lunch 12/18/19 at 12:05pm but ended up going to this newly soft opened acai place. Gorgeous looking and well built, plenty of seating arrangements. First thing you'll notice is the lit up turtle on the wall and window which is a nice touch for pics. They had ENDLESS amount of toppings and drizzles condiments, I've had a couple of acai bowls in Hawaii but having it closer to home less than 3 miles is a kudo! Cozy, but Menu Differed from Actual Dishes Served…read more I came into Aragon around 11:30AM on a Sunday after seeing the high ratings by Yelpers. The pancakes looked delicious from the photos! When I came to the location, parking was readily available. The restaurant itself is quaint, and we waited about 5 minutes for a table. It's clean, minimalistic, and no-frills; few tables and no AC. The prices were very affordable and reasonable. Even with such good prices, portions were large and food came out quickly. The food wasn't too memorable, but my biggest gripe with it was that it differed from what was advertised on the menu. We ordered the French Toast, which is supposed to be topped with nuts, blueberry sauce, powdered sugar, and whipped cream. Surprisingly, it only came out with powdered sugar. This was very disappointing. Even if the price is great, the items being advertised should be what is served. As for the Eggs Benedict, which we also ordered, I thought the taste was lovely. However, I fail to see how this establishment-food and service-wise-differs from a typical American breakfast chain.

I particularly enjoyed the granola and shaved coconut because it paired really well with the açaí and bananas by giving it the perfect crunch. The shop is small, but it has a great feel and doesn't feel crowded at all. The staff was friendly, the vibe was relaxed, and it's just a really chill place to stop by. As a local, I'm always happy to find spots like this that are worth coming back to. Definitely adding The Sunrise Shack to my list of go-to places, especially on those hot days when you're looking for something refreshing.

Here is a good mix of savory, sweet, and healthy options for any craving. During our last visit, my sister and I really enjoyed the Tuna Melt and the banana pancakes. The best part? The prices are fair for the portion of food that you get! We've celebrated Father's day twice at this cafe, and I'm looking forward to coming back here for future casual brunches and special occasions.

But BIG note for the manager/owner (and others who are concerned about it), almost ALL the FOH staff was chewing gum while working which is not just a health code violation but also just gross. Hopefully this gets addressed soon. I'll note, my server didn't check on us a single time. We were out of water and coffee by the time our check was dropped off. I will say, facing the back, I did see her (and other staff) go to the back and chew their gum, touch their phones, and drink their drinks without washing their hands and coming back up front (also a health violation, btw). As I mentioned, I've had good service in the past so I'm leaving it at 4-stars.
