First time here and I can see why the line is so long at 9:30pm! I was craving an açaí bowl and of course at 9pm all places are closed. Thank you Yelp for leading me to this little popular gem! They have a wide selection of bowls with so many ingredients to chose from. They have 3 friendly workers asking what ingredients you want, each at a different station of items, like base, fruits and dry toppings. Anything can be customized around the bowl you chose from their menu or make one of your own. The ambiance is totally chill but with only 3 tables be ready to take it to go if there's no room. They do have a lot of free standing chairs to hang around in as well. Glad I was able to satisfy my sweet tooth tonight with a healthy option. I'll be back!

Island Bodega is still my go-to açaí bowl spot! I'm still hooked! The service is so attentive and welcoming and I love the upgrades to their seating/tables...it's so aesthetic!

One of my favorite acai spots in Long Beach! The bowls are always fresh, delicious, and satisfying. Some of my fav topics are pumpkin seeds and almond slices for a healthy crunch (skip or go light on granola). I love kiwis and not very many acai shops offer it. The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming. Definitely a go-to whenever I'm craving a good acai.

Driven by this place 100s of times and kept wanting to come by to give it a try....well today was the perfect time to finally drop by after going to Aldi.... The staff were nice and friendly the place is clean and relaxing...but I got mine to go.... I got the Island Bowl with a few modifications....and as mentioned to go.... I felt like it was pretty fresh and really good actually. I'll have to drop by again another day to get one!

Stopped by Island Bodega and grabbed two açaí bowls and wow... didn't expect to be this impressed. Both bowls were super fresh, perfectly chilled, and not overly sweet like some places that just load it with syrup. You can actually taste the real açaí, which I appreciated. The fruit toppings were bright, ripe, and generous (not skimpy at all), and the granola had that perfect crunch without being rock hard. One bowl leaned more classic and refreshing, the other had a slightly richer, dessert vibe--both hit in their own way. Also, the presentation was clean and pretty (yes, it matters), and everything tasted like it was made with care, not rushed. You can tell they're consistent with quality.

The chocolate flavor is really good, will not be too sweet or bitter. The banana slice makes a good combination with it, recommend to add some pumpkin seeds for rich mouth feeling. Turtle loves it!!

I ordered a large bowl through DoorDash. Received my bowl with almost full of the blue island base. I hope they don't do this bec nobody wants to eat only the base. Pls put more toppings evenly. These bowls arent cheap. Im disappointed. The toppings were very little

Island Bodega is hands down one of my favorite acai spots. I got the small build-your-own for $11, which is honestly such a great deal for unlimited bases and toppings. You get so much flexibility, and I love how customizable everything is. The bases are always the perfect texture and never icy. Everything just tastes super fresh and it's consistently good every time I go. Definitely my go-to when I'm craving acai and in the area!

Ask the Community - Island Bodega

Is the Pitaya base made of pure fruit or does it have sweetener or other juice/fruit mix added?

Hi what can be made with No sugar?

I don't think they offer anything sugar free

    Is the granola gluten free?

No, all of our granolas contain gluten.

Do you do points? This place do points with CashApp I wished one of the worker had told me soon been coming here a few times already and could of earned at least 36 -45 points by now.

on the screen it's before you pay where it says "sign up/see rewards" on the right in blue and also after the receipt option!

Is coconut cream still offered as a base?

I was just in there & they mentioned it runs out fast. They had another flavor sold out that day too. 😩

    Is this place authentically Brazilian?

    No, it is not

    Do they have vegan options?

I think most of their bases are vegan and they have agave as a topping. As for the granola, asl which one has honey/egg whites etc

What food delivery service do they work with?

    Grubhub, Doordash, Postmates, and Ubereats

Found this cute, small cafe while looking for breakfast after dropping our car off for service…read more We opted for the breakfast burrito and a side of biscuits and gravy. The burrito was tasty - loaded with eggs, bacon and ham, hash browns with crispy bits, cheese, and fresh pico de gallo. 10/10 Salsa Verde was flavorful, could use more heat. 9/10 The buttermilk biscuits were topped with sausage gravy. The biscuits were great, crispy on the edges, soft in the middle. The gravy was too salty for both of us. It's our first time here, so I'm not certain if that is how the gravy normally is or if they just got a bit heavy handed with the salt today. Service is fantastic - everyone is really attentive and friendly. We will return when in the neighborhood.

Spacious patio, also plenty of seating options indoors. Found this spot when looking for a local…read morespot for breakfast. Both times I've been the local law enforcement was in having coffee, so you know the service isn't going to be horrible. And heads up for seniors, there's an early bird breakfast during the week for $10.95 for a basic breakfast. Right off the bat going to say a couple of the reviews weren't off...the coffee listed on the menu advertised refills, but truly, the mugs are small and there's not someone routinely walking around with a coffee pot like you might expect at a breakfast spot. And I too found a hair in my food...had not planned on mentioning this, but when another reviewer mentions it in less than a month's time, think it's time for management to review prep and food handling standards. On the positive side, I was able to get a coffee to go. And I wasn't going to complain about the hair (I found it halfway through finishing off my pancake), but I realized it was really stuck in there so needed to let them know they needed to likely toss that batch of batter. Having been restaurant management, I personally would have comped the ticket. But they did take off the pancake, in fairness, without my asking for a refund. But truly, it does pretty much end your meal (just took the rest of my omelette to go). The prices are steep, but I'm sure the overhead is not low...food costs are going up, staffing costs are up, and they have a large space with plenty of parking. All of that comes at a price. But the portions are good, and overall what I've had was tasty. I did give the place another shot after the pancake incident (truly, the pancake was a bit underwhelming, with an expansive menu I recommend trying something else). I tried the birria omelette and the carnitas omelette with the house potatoes. Taters were tasty, omelettes were fluffy and consistent. It was interesting how they plated. A basic cheese omelette with the meat layer on top. I also tried the loaded chili cheese fries. I ordered without onions as I'm not a raw onion fan. It comes topped with sour cream and some other sauce. I would recommend order both toppings on the side. There was so much sauciness that you could barely taste the chili, but it does fluff up the plate, so maybe there's a method to the madness there. Staff has been nice and polite, but I can see where some folks may have had a bad experience. You can tell there are some hard workers (both of my servers fell in this category), and there's a couple of slackers. But the manager on site should be floating so that they can keep an eye on the operation (front and back of house), and check in with diners. Just my two cents. Definitely worth a try if you've never been.

Our server was Ashley and she was so friendly and sweet! She answered all our questions and was very attentive to us throughout the dinner! She even refilled my hot water multiple times, which is SO RARE in a restaurant!!!! The food itself was delicious and had great portion sizes! The appetizers were great (calamari and caprese salad)! Good shareable portions for the table! For dinner, we ordered the short rib pappardelle, which was DELICIOUS and was a hit!!! There was more than enough to split among three people! I had the grilled salmon salad which had a good hefty portion of salmon that was perfectly grilled, on a huge bowl of greens! The restaurant gave my mom a complimentary canoli for her birthday too, which was awesome! Thank you so much for the great food and excellent service! We didn't get her name but she had glasses and septum nose piercing. She was more accommodating at then end but we were very off put at the beginning and it left a bad taste in our mouths. Our server at our table was the complete opposite. Very attentive and made the group less angry with our initial treatment. Wish I got her name to share. The desert and cocktails were nice but due to the service it did not make up for the overall experience. Desert: Tiramisu 4/5 - great flavor, ratio of cream was too much compared to cake portion Canolli 4/5 - duo flavors were nice and had a good shell with crunch Crème brûlée 2/5 - pistachio flavor was light and it's was almost too warm and liquidy. Cocktails overall some major hits and other misses. Sgroppino 5/5 - strong but with a great flavor profile Dragon fruit cocktail 2/5 - too light tasting, not much flavor or alcohol? Gave more juice Peach Bellini 4.5/5 - table side pour is nice touch and rest of bottle was nice. Syrup has a sourness but mixed in with Bellini and gelato and tasted just right. Melontini - 2.5/5 light, somewhat good flavor but nothing memorable. Ambience seems nice but it can be loud inside with open floor plan.
