My friends and I were craving something cold to cool down on this hot summer day so we headed to Reef's Ice Cream Truck. They use New Zealand Ice Cream Machines to create their fresh fruit ice cream concoctions. You can choose between Vanilla or Coconut (Non Dairy) Base, between a cup or a Waffle Cone, and you can choose 1 or up to 3 fruits to swirl into your ice cream. I was going to go modest with 1 fruit but decided on the 3 fruit combo of Strawberry, Mango and Banana and it was a nice swirl of fruits and the coconut base and I think best enjoyed in the crispy Waffle Cone. I'm a sprinkle addict (a go to on my ice cream since childhood lol) so that was lacking for me but I noticed you can add various toppings like Oreos, Honey, Granola, Waffle cone crumbles, etc. I tried my friend's fruit choices and they were delicious! The Pineapple with Coconut Base tasted like a Dole Whip, the Banana was light and creamy and the Strawberry and Mango (which was close to mine) was delicious as well. They have outdoor seating in the back with a little bit of shade. It was a hot day with no shade while waiting in line and a large family basically had a family member in front of us and cut in, so the wait was even longer. The person taking the order and making the ice cream were the same and they were kinda slow, but very nice. You can add up to three fruits, but getting a cone is extra money with the keiki size at $7 and the nui size at $10. Toppings are $0.75 each. To be honest I tried some real fruit ice cream elsewhere on the island and it was better, shaded and didn't cost extra to get a cone and they gave you more and it was $1 less. They have seating out front with no shade and a few shaded tables behind it but that large family took all three shaded tables so we found a tree nearby and ate there standing up. AH-MAZING. This is a MUST visit when in Maui. My hubby and I could eat this everyday, several times a day. She takes either vanilla ice cream or coconut as the base and mixes in real fruit and then toppings if you like. It's so yummy!! My hubby got vanilla ice cream with banana and blueberry, with honey and graham cracker as the toppings -- all in a waffle cone. It was . I got coconut as the base and lychee and mango for the fruit. No toppings for me, wasn't needed. I got it in a small cup. Service was quick and the environment was absolutely adorable. She definitely has a green thumb and I'd ask to purchase a few of her plants I A little pricey but I am willing to pay for good food and healthy at that. It was my first time trying this and I enjoyed it. The ice cream is made with real fruit as you're able to choose up to 3 fruits and they add it to the ice cream you choose (vanilla or coconut), which gets processed through the machine they have. I chose mango, triple berry, and pineapple. It's a food truck run by 1 lady (at least when I went) in a food truck park (parking lot). There's a table outside the truck you can sit at. She was nice to explain how it works. She recommends the bigger size if sharing. We chose the smaller size. She had a bit of trouble getting the ice cream to come out of the machine, maybe because of my fruit choice causing the density to be too thick. As a result, the end product looked nothing like the pictures on social and looked like there was not much ice cream at all. After she gave me the ice cream, she was scooping the remains of the ice cream stuck in the machine screw and discarded it which she could have given to me. I felt skimped on. It's expensive (overpriced) for the amount you get. But that's Hawaii for you. read more

We got 3 "big" sizes (don't get small, you will regret it :) Our flavors: 1) strawberry and ice cream 2) mango/dragon fruit/liliko with coconut base 3) blackberry/liliko with coconut base. All were amazing but I loved the blackberry/liliko the most. Tart and refreshing ... just like Connor recommended. The owner Connor was so friendly and we all left wanting to go back the next day but sadly that was our last day in Maui. My son Jeffrey rated it "10/10" for taste, texture and value.... and of course friendliness. Thank you Connor!
