I've mainly had the fish tacos with mango salsa the few times I've been here and they're quite good. Flavorful with lots of fresh veggies piled on. The black beans and rice sides are generous too. I stopped in for take out, the greeter and server were pleasant and the service very timely. The kitchen, however, needs improvement. I ordered steak tacos, grilled. I clearly stated that I needed the order to be made with no cheese, no dairy. When I got to where I was staying and opened the package, they had cheese melted all over them. I'm from out of town, so I sighed, scraped it off, couldn't eat the tortillas or lettuce and dealt with it. Next, the salsa wasn't fresh, probably several days old, the tomatoes were slimy and the taste was a bit off. The rice was truly inedible, perhaps instant rice cooked in a seasoning packet? Not fully cooked, not fresh, took only one tiny bite, couldn't continue. The black beans were good, though. Awoke at 4 am with the worst indigestion I've ever had, and now I have intestinal cramps, so not only was it a bad tasting meal not made to my specifications, it also ruined what would have been a much needed good night's rest. read more

This place has pretty legit key lime pie and the service was friendly and fast. The booths are a little bit broken down and the decor is a crappy attempt to be ocean and surf related but the food is pretty delicious with large portions. It does have a bar with drink specials etc. but the crowd that goes here for the social bar aspect is a little bit older so it's not really a booty shaking atmosphere. It is still a cool place and super close to where I live so that's a plus. read more

Original Fort Collins yummy. Sunday is kids eat free and 60 cent wings! The atmosphere is like jimmy Buffett fun and we always have fun here. The service has been alright most of the time. The food is acceptable. Tonight, I did curb side take out. They left out all the toppings for my baked potato. When I called to fix it, "Sam" offered to refund the $2.99 for the potato or have me drive 15 minutes back to get it. Neither option seemed acceptable. My husband and I are visiting from out of state. We came here with people we are out here visiting. The band Retro was playing and they were awesome! The issue we had was with the service. We were seated and after 30 minutes of employees just walking by and ignoring us, my husband had to track down the manager and ask him how the heck do we get service?!?! He said he would send someone over right away. Once we talked to the manager, we had pretty good service but we shouldn't have to go find the manager to get service. The food was pretty good. I have eaten here many time. It's hardly fine dining but I don't expect it to be. Most of the time I have found it adequate and friendly. I love this place, however, one of the past reviews said it could use a good cleaning and I tend to agree. On the other hand, the food is always yummy and it has a very friendly, low-key, dive-bar feel. I've always had great service and enjoy the chill atmosphere. As a cook for 10 years, don't come here if you want good service and a good meal, just don't do it. It's overpriced for what you get. Something like 16 bucks for a burger and it wasn't anything special, I would even say it was sub par. They do karaoke and trivia, so as a bar, it's great. Ordered food through GrubHub, food wasn't bad but for $14 for 2 shrimp tacos, I expect great food. I was offered pico de Gallo or mango salsa, I chose mango and received pico and tacos we're good size however very few pieces of small shrimp mostly cabbage..I up ordered and got the side of green chili and rice that said came with chips...well...no chips...$4.50 so not too bad but still.. I also ordered coconut shrimp that came with a sweet n sour sauce...taste was ok but not what I was expecting for the $14. I like the bar staff, very friendly and quick to serve. the food on the other hand is not very good. The fish tacos and Thai salad are pretty good, but everything else I've had is fried, greasy and over salted. I know you serve salted foods to get people to drink more, but really? They told me how good the Philly steak sandwich was, and it was not. Tasteless, over-cooked beef and greasy again. OK beer selection even though it is limited to about 10 handles. My husband and I visit Island Grill in Loveland and Ft. Collins at least a couple of times a month. We have never once had poor service. In fact we've always had excellent service. This place is so overpriced for the taste. Why are the fish tacos rated so high? The rice and beans were unsalted and the rice either undercooked or it had been sitting out. It was crunchy. The tacos were so bland it was just awful, the only flavor came from the purple cabbage and it left an aftertaste and was bad. Fish was unsalted and unseasoned. If you order your fish blackened it should be an extremely spiced and flavorful bite... This was not. I will never ever eat here again. First and last time, it was a waste of $11. Island Grill has been our favorite go-to restaurant since moving back to Colorado this summer. Super friendly service as well as really good consistent food. I've been to the grill a few times, and found the food acceptable, but not exceptional -tho I didn't have the fish tacos. That's ok, because what I enjoy is dancing. They have some great bands, no cover, and a wonderful dance floor. However, there is little to no space for dancing! Why bring in a good dance band, and then crowd the band with tables? I Love the food. Its not the same old same old . The spicy stuff is right at the line. Meaning as spicy as possible but not over the line . They know how to cook shrimp . My food was not good today. The previous two times I have been, the food was good. The sides were not freshly made and something tasted moldy, either the beans or the shredded cheese.
