Where do I even begin? Island Honda is absolutely not the dealership it used to be when the Kitagawa family owned it. The difference in professionalism and customer care is night and day -- and not in a good way. I spent the last two days trying to purchase a vehicle, walking in with $70,000 cash, ready to buy. Instead of being treated like a serious customer, I was met with disorganization, unprofessional behavior, and staff who seemed either uninterested or completely untrained. The current GM (as of March 2026) sets the tone, and unfortunately that tone is terrible. His attitude trickles down to several of his employees, and it shows. I currently own a Honda and even purchased the Honda Service package, but the service department here is a joke. The staff is unprofessional, lacks basic knowledge, and the manager... well, let's just say "winner" in the most sarcastic way possible. It's all a reflection of poor leadership. The only person who deserves recognition is Rita, the shuttle driver -- a genuinely kind, professional, and standout human being in a dealership that desperately needs more people like her. Lithia Motors should take a hard look at what's happening at this location. At this rate, it's only a matter of time before complaints pile up. We have been getting cars from Honda for a while. After my last experience, never again. I'll take the loss. Customer service was awful, went in prior to my lease being changed which was pretty shortly after the fires, I went in asking if they offered any deals for the Lahaina families, you know, since they have employees living in Lahaina and it's our very community that keeps them in business. Other car dealerships were offering services so thought I would ask. I came in as a walk in, to see what my options were, asked about Lahaina, the employer tells me " no, we don't offer any discounts to you but always you will have a car to live in if you don't find a home". Which just months after the fire and losing everything, was a pretty messed up response. Especially since we were one of those families who got no assistance. Was a challenging time, not to mention, since we had relocated and now commuted to work, that put us over the miles and cost a lot more. Moving forward, we made an appt with the sales person who sold us the car, different employee, we had never leased before and didn't know much about it, but this is one of those things where he said what you wanted to hear to make a deal, even if it was a bull face lie! He told us the price wouldn't change if we did a lease to buy, so in my mind, I'm stoked thinking well why wouldn't we if the price didn't change? Well, to make a sale! Now On top of being late to our appt. The sales man forget about us and starts helping a walk-in while we waited an additional almost hour from our initial appt. Time. Yes, those don't sound like an end-all to leave a bad yelp review. I have a surfboard rack on my truck bed, it doesn't come off, it stays on. Any photo I have of my car, my board is on the same side, board might be off but rack doesn't move. I have never hit the back of my truck. Not a single ding, dent nothing. A week prior, I had gone through the car wash and the strap got stuck and broke off, just the strap. So even though it was still attached, it no longer served its purpose, so I went to hi tech and got a new surf board rack, took this one off. So now, I take my rack off so it doesn't break with constant wetness and environment damage, longer life. When I took it off, my truck was cherry, no problems. Why would there be right?! I get emails saying I had to change out some camera or censor in the back of my truck, I guess this model was having problems so I made an appt to get it switched out. I come back, they say everything is good. Cool, no issues. A few weeks later, I take off my rack to go through the car wash, the whole part under the rack was busted up, scuffed, plastic was scraped, the whole thing looked like it was taken off and not put on correctly and just damaged. I was trying to wrap my brain around what could have possibly happened. Again, no issues, no dents, nothing. How could I have hit that which was under a pad and protected the entire time. This didn't make sense. Maybe it was a few weeks to a month later, it hit me, I wondered if whatever they did to my truck needed to take that off? So I called Honda and asked what was the protocol for replacing this piece? They said they had to remove my rack to remove the back of the truck bed wall. Which meant, this was done by their employees and not only did they not mention it so the blame could be put on me, they hid it back up with my rack and didn't say anything so I would be the one paying for the damage done. My mind was blown at how such a successful car dealership could pull off some shady shit like this. So they had me bring it in. When I asked the guy who rang me up, he tried to put blame on me and start questioning me about what they did. He honestly tried to turn it around and blame me. I made a big rant about it on some public forum. The owner of Honda replied in a public space to sound like he was a honest person and he would personally like me to contact him and email him. I did, I emailed him. Never once got a response. I called corporate, never got a call back. This place is shady, greedy and the owner doesn't care about no one but the money in their pocket. They are willing to screw our small community for their benefits. the guy also implied that I had " dings all over" making it sound like it had to of been me, and how does he know I didn't hide it with my surf rack. Slime ball. I have a few little scuff marks only from other people opening their doors on my car while parked. Never crashed thus truck, never hit anything, no damage from myself. A door little mark on someone's car, I can't control that, this truck doesn't have side rails to block this kind of damage. So most employees we have dealt with at island Honda are liars & they will damage your car and if they are able to hide it, they will. read more

I live on Oahu and was in the market for a 2024 Honda Civic Type R in April 2024. All the Honolulu area honda dealers were charging $5-10k over MSRP. Not going to pay that so I started looking elsewhere. There were several in middle America at MSRP but shipping to Honolulu would be an extra $2-3k. I saw a championship white Type R at Island Honda in April 2024. Initially they wanted $58,000 for it. Not paying that so I kept looking. It was still at the dealer in May. They were firm on their price. In June I made an offer for $55k including shipping to Oahu which they said was $500. I was willing to do the deal if they threw in some freebies, they were unwilling. On July 4, I sent an email and made an offer for $53k but I wanted them to pay for shipping to Honolulu, they wouldn't budge, and they told me shipping would be $600 when I asked why the difference in price they gave me a non-answer. At the end of July they finally came down in price a bit more and offered to ship the car to Oahu. I told them I had financing all ready and they said their finance guy would call me so we could do all the paperwork over the phone. They had me sign off all the documents via docusign while the finance manager explained them. Easy process. So aside from the sales manager not budging on a vehicle he could have sold three months prior, the sales process was ok. The back of the office stuff was a nightmare. I bank with USAA. I've bought at least half a dozen cars with them as my finance folks. I've NEVER had an issue before. They gave me a document that required Island Honda send in the buyers order and their bank account number so USAA could wire the funds over. Standard stuff. It took FOREVER for USAA & Island Honda to figure it out with several calls from me to USAA to help with the process. Island Honda says it was USAA's fault and USAA says they were happy to send the funds as soon as they received the documents they required. USAA even gave me a ACH Tracer Number to give Island Honda to prove that they had sent the funds over. What actually happened? I don't know. The truth is probably somewhere in between because after my conversations with the manager who was handling this issue left me no confidence that Island Honda was actually sending whatever USAA needed. It took a week for them to straighten it all out. A week where I'm wondering if I actually have a car or not. Meanwhile, I asked my salesperson how long shipping from Maui to Honolulu would take. During our conversation on the phone i asked will it take like a week or something? She demurred. So the title clerk or whoever had to set up the shipping with Young Brothers. It took 2.5 weeks from the sale to get my car. It arrived with my plates from the DMV already included...that's how long it took. I wish my salesperson would have just said 2-3 weeks is standard so I had my expectations set. To make matters worse, when I went to the port to pick up the car, Island Honda had sent it Cash on Delivery so I had to pay $511 out of pocket for YB to release my car to me. I emailed my salesperson because we had it in writing that Island Honda would pay for shipping. The same guy who was (mis)handling the USAA/finance stuff apologized profusely and overnighted a check to me to reimburse me for shipping. But at least the car was in good condition. So I have some faith in the sales process at Island Honda but their back office is a sh*t show. It's not surprising to me that I never received a dealer survey from Honda about my experience from Island Honda... So would I do business with Island Honda again? Probably not if I lived on Oahu. If I lived on Maui, I think it would have been a standard car sale. But the fact that I bought the car sight unseen and it had to be shipped created a lot of unnecessary stress. And the greedy sales manager stretched out this process unncessarily. I'd also take off another star because all the Honda dealers are price gouging their customers on Hawaii with their covid/post covid "market adjustments." If there was an MSRP Honda dealer on the island, we probably wouldn't see as many Toyotas and Subarus on the roads... read more

I've been a loyal customer of Island Honda for over 20 years and have always had my hondas serviced at the dealership. Most recently, I scheduled a service appointment on June 12, 2026 for an oil change, tire rotation, and replacement of rear brakes (I had the front brakes replaced in January). On the morning of Saturday, June 20th, I attempted to start my car to leave for a fund-raising event but the car failed to start. I immediately checked the invoice I received on the 12th detailing what was done to my car. I noted that the battery was checked and the condition was "good". Therefore, believing in what the printed word said, I thought there must be another cause. I called the Island Honda service line and left a message detailing the problem and requested a return call. Today is Thursday, June 25, and I have yet to hear from anyone at Island Honda. To make matters worse, my boyfriend and I replaced the battery and my car is now running. To sum it up, I will NEVER return to Island Honda for ANYTHING!!! I am of the firm belief that at the very least their mechanics are not trustworthy. Unfortunately, this casts a negative light on the entire dealership but as most new car owners tend to service their vehicles at the dealership, I felt it important to raise this awareness. read more

BUYER BEWARE - Brought my car on a Wednesday due to a leak and 'Check Transmission' code. They didn't look at my car until the next morning. That morning, I received a phone call that all the transmission fluid leaked out of my transmission burning the transmission parts. They then told me my car wasn't drivable (it actually was still drivable), and they said I needed a new transmission for $7000. I checked the bill for the most recent oil change which was done three weeks prior - they listed it had an oil sensor plug leak affecting the transmission fluid levels, but they never verbally mentioned this to me. They were aware of my transmission fluid leak approximately a month prior to the 'Check Transmission' code coming on. They've been wanting to buy my car for a while now. After notifying me of my transmission being "damaged," they reduced my trade in value to almost nothing. I towed my car away from ISLAND HONDA and got a second opinion. For a fraction of their quoted price to replace the transmission, my transmission was repaired elsewhere and my car is now working with no problems. They also messed with my key fob - which wasn't broken. I inquired with them how much to fix the fob; they wanted $300+ !. I took it to Ace Hardware and got a replacement shell (the interior still works fine) for $34. Shame on them! First they didn't tell me about the oil sensor plug, they let my transmission fluid leak out by not checking where the leak was right away, then tried to fool me into thinking my transmission was ruined, they then reduced the trade in value at a much reduced rate, and lastly for tried to make me pay $300 to replace the fob. After we picked it up, we noticed the vehicle still smelled. We thought it was just residual smells stuck in the cloth seats. So we cleaned the car ourselves. We had the floors and seats scrubbed, aired/dried it out, vacuumed every nook and cranny, and even scrubbed the spare tire and the well that it was stored in. Just got a used car from them. Which i feel like they over priced with them not willing to disclose what's really wrong with the vehicle. Vehicle was well below E when I test drove it and we stopped for gas next door but sales guy only put 1 gallon of gas in the car and now I know why! It all ran smooth with the constant reassurance that it passed everything and nothings wrong. We'll when I picked it up and paid for it. Within the day of driving it the car now overheats constantly even with fluid meaning something is broken that needs to be fixed. Now I know why he didnt want me to drive too far from the dealership! Don't trust buying a used car from them. Cause now I'll be spending couple more thousands just to fix this problem since its a used car no warranty. To them its a lemon its a lemon your loss even if you have a family to take care of. They have thick skin over there. The people on the new car side amazing. read more

I been here a lot lately servicing 2 Hondas. Everytime we've came we've been having excellent service. These guys take care. I called the first time to have the A.C. fixed on my car and to change the oil. Okay got an appointment the next day. Perfect choose a 730 slot. The next morning drove up and there were many people waiting to get checked in. It moved pretty fast. So we choose to wait in the lounge which has A.C. perfect on a hot summer day. It took a couple of hours.. So when it was time for me to pay my bill they told me I needed New brakes and a new battery and some other stuff. Okay let's do this make an appointment for the following week. Drove up and chose to wait in the lounge. Waited a couple of hours. Island Honda has friendly staff that we've dealt with. Melissa, my salesperson, was such a nice person to work with. She was patient while I had to make numerous calls to secure financing and insurance. She even helped me by suggesting places to go to while I was waiting for my plane ride back. The manager also treated me with kindness. What a breath of fresh air compared to other experiences that I had buying a car. They took care of all of the shipping details and emailed me at every step of the way. When I encountered a problem, the manager helped me to solve it immediately. I have never worked with such a professional and respectful dealership. Went in on May 27th at 8:15am to see if they fix airbags because I was recently in an accident (they don't btw, don't understand how a dealership can't service air bags). The girl I talked to in the beginning at the service department was nice but she didn't know too much so she kept asking her supervisor? Young guy in his 30's (beard, brown short hair wish I would've caught his name) probably so when I asked about where the sensors on my car was I was met with attitude and vague answers which wasn't helpful at all, he honestly just seemed like he hated his job and didn't want to help people. Honda needs to train their employees on having empathy especially when it comes to certain situations like mine. I wouldn't recommended, I would rather buy my car from another Honda dealership on another island. read more

I bought a used car from here back in November. Everything went smoothly, the sales person was friendly and helpful. I asked if there was anything big that they were aware of that needed to be repaired. He said no, they wouldn't be selling it if there was something big that needed to be repaired. They checked out everything and they "trusted" the person they bought it from and thought it was a good car. Now you're not going to have a car checked out that you're buying from the dealership when they had their service people check it over, right? So you mostly just have to trust what they tell you. It had a new battery and oil change just before I bought it and they talked about how a lot of the bigger services were done (at 90k mi., it had 142k when I bought it) but it's a Toyota so if it's well cared for it should last to 300k+. Of course all sales are final! So shortly after purchasing it, there is an exhaust or burning oil smell that would happen when going up hills and when idle. It has a strong pull to the right and shimmy while driving and breaking. I schedule an appt with my mechanic and low and behold it needs a bunch of work, see recommendations in the picture. The oil leak is a "4.5/5" although no oil leaked under the car but that was the burning smell I smelled. And that's just the "big" stuff they said, there's lots more. I 100% trust this mechanic who said, while he likes to make money, he cannot justify telling me to fix it. While I keep trying to tell myself "it's just money", I'm pissed with the amount of money I will have lost on this car. There's no way their service team didn't know or see this stuff and it's soo infuriating that this is what can happen and there's nothing that can be done. ** On 3/21 - I received the below response, requesting a call. Great experience today at Island Honda! My car just got delivered from Matson and I found the lower engine cover was coming off at port of Kahului. I was worried more damage could happen so I brought my car directly to the my local Honda dealership and they took care of the issue with some new clips and a screw we're back like new and no scraping the road. Guess what they didn't charge me for the 15 minutes of work they did and I am stoked! I highly recommend everyone bring their car to Island Honda of Maui. The dealership waiting area is immaculate and bathrooms are clean. They have free water and affordable cold drinks while you wait. They even have coffee! I purchased a used vehicle and it was a horror story. Buyer beware. I had an extended stay in Maui so was looking for a used van to last 9 months. I told them I needed a vehicle that was safe and just get me from A to B for 9 months. The first red flag was a car I saw online wasn't on their lot so they showed me other vehicles. They showed me a few vans (all priced above the KBB value). The van I test drove had no obvious mechanical issues and nothing was disclosed after I asked if there were any known issues. The salesman also said they'd likely buy it back at full-price after 9 months (how naive was I?!). So I paid $10K for a van that KBB'd for $7K, thinking supply is low and it must be in good shape. BOY WAS I NAIVE. It basically fell apart as soon as I got it home. After 3 days, I noticed a huge fluid leak. I asked them to repair and they "fixed as much as they could." After 1 week, the AC went out. Then one of the sliding doors stopped working. Then the transmission went out and the van no longer went in reverse. This all happened within weeks of purchase. The van is now stuck in my driveway. They refused to do anything about it and said the best they could do was $3K trade-in or $2K to buy the vehicle back. I accepted the $2K cash (down $8K at this point and no vehicle) and I guarantee they will cover up the issues and find another sucker. Shop somewhere else. They are aloha on the surface but predators when you have to actually do business with them. read more

If I could give 10 stars I would! I took my kid Tucker to buy a newer car. Tucker has always driven older Honda's, and when the last one broke down, it was time for a big step up. Being a novice at dealing with a dealership, I was ready to go to battle for him! We were warmly greeted by Chelsea C. with authenticity, not the fake, I'm just being nice because I want the sale type that I'm sure everyone under the sun has experienced. Chelsea was patient & took the time to explore all options without pressure or trying to upsell something unaffordable. Chelsea took Tucker out for a spin in a truck, and I followed behind them as they made their way back to the dealership. Ha! NOW came time for the battle I was prepared for, or so I thought. I gave my expertise advice and asked all the right questions. Pretty soon, I found myself bored with no job to do, and I had complete confidence that Chelsea was taking good care of Tucker. When it came time to talk numbers & financing, it was all a breeze. I was no longer needed; in fact, I don't think I was ever needed. I'm just going to send my next kid in alone lol Just 2 more things that HAVE to be mentioned. The next day, Tucker received a phone call from the finance department saying they found him a different lender with a better rate! The second thing to mention is that Chelsea made Tucker's first-time purchase via dealership experience very special & even had a gift bag filled with snacks & drinks delivered to him at work. Very interesting how your my best friend if I want to buy a car but when a defective air conditioner components are faulty with low miles that no owner should have to experience a condenser and evaporator core going out on such low miles costing them thousands this is a nation wide complaint its all documented. There was a class action lawsuit that got brushed under the rug by a judge and Honda decided to extend the warranty on the condenser and compressor shaft seal leaks. The condenser was the root of the problem and it put lots of strain on the other components and you act as if you don't know?? EXTREMELY UPSET CUSTOMER AND IM NOT GOING AWAY read more

Randy is one of the most rude and unprofessional individuals I have had the displeasure of interacting with. His employee, Chelsea, told us that we could drop off our car anytime near when we would be moving off island and that they would buy it for the price they offered. We came in on Friday to sell the car so that we can leave island Monday. Randy is now saying they aren't buying cars this week. So his staff is telling customers that they can rely on Island Honda to buy their cars, and then leaving them in a terrible position when that time comes. I wouldn't buy a car here, get a car serviced here, nor bother trying to sell them a car. Take your business elsewhere and avoid Randy and his lackluster team. read more

I own a Honda that we purchased directly from island Honda. I inquired about a service for my 06 Scion that we recently purchased used from a private party. I wanted to do an oil change. One shop wanted to charge me 220$ !!!!!! Read this again 220$!!! And to do an 32pt inspection was 275$. So 500 plus for all that.yeah no... Another shop quoted me 79.99$ but wasn't able to take me in do to matson not taking used oil in time (bummers) So took my Scion today Got it at my assigned time All though I did wait a few minutes to be helped. It was really busy for a 10:15am appt The only down side is before they used to text saying they received your car Who your service advisor is etc But my past few services I guess they forgot or don't offer that service anymore. With the amount of cars in front of me I got my car back around 12:45pm Service advisor greeted me as soon as I got in. I forgot his name though sorry. Explained to me what they did. And called the shop to bring my car. It took awhile because they were washing it but that's always worth the wait. Other than a few minor issues i am happy with my choice. I mean for about 90$ got a oil change, they checked fluids and brakes and tire wear and a minor wash. I feel I got a really good value for the price. I knw they are cheaper places and I could of done it my self. But they handled it pretty smoothly and I am very appreciative for them. 4 stars only because of the minor issues. I guess I can detail my issues Made an appt online through the website Got it confirmed by email and text. Now I know there's a tons of cars coming in But wouldn't you think they have your name and appt time in the system? Going back to the text check in etc When we had our civic they used to text saying we have your car Or your cars done etc And going back to my past visits It would be nice to knw when my car would be done instead of having to call and my service advisor did not knw. This review is specifically for Kevin M, a salesperson at Island Honda. I have been a loyal Honda customer for 5 years. I wanted to trade in my lease for another Honda. I came into the dealership, met Kevin, test drove the car that I was leaning toward, and got an initial quote on the rate. I wasn't quite ready to make a decision as there was still a month left on my lease. All good. As it got closer to the time to make a decision, I made an appointment to meet with Kevin on a Saturday morning. I fully expected to drive off with my new lease that morning. I brought my partner with me as he had some questions about the car and the quote that Kevin had given me. When we arrived, Kevin came out and it was like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde once he realized that I had brought my well-informed partner with me, and we had some remaining questions. Kevin stated (exact quote), "I don't have time to talk about numbers. I have time to sell a car." He then proceeded to tell us that we should go ahead and leave if we weren't ready to purchase the car. I'm not kidding! Truly, this was the most unbelievable and off-putting car sales experience that I've ever been through, and both my partner and I were quite upset about how we were treated. Our main question revolved around why the quoted price for a lease was more than what it would be to purchase the car. Generally, a lease is less expensive than a purchase price on a car. Well, long story short, Kevin did not sell a car that day. I purchased my Honda lease (obtaining the loan through my private bank at a MUCH better rate than what Honda offered). I plan to sell my car soon, and according to the Kelley Blue Book value, I should have no problem making a small profit on it as it has low mileage, is in excellent condition, and in demand here on the island (despite being told by Kevin that I have negative equity in it). When I purchase my next Honda, it definitely won't be at this dealership. My plan is to call a high volume Honda dealership on Oahu and have them ship it over. My experience with Island Honda was awful. I bought my car from the used car lot. It had a jump in the transmission (or so I thought) I didn't notice it on the test drive but a few days after. I contacted my sales agent and was told to bring the car into the shop, and they would look at it. I only had the car for a few days. I took the car into island Honda, they said they would work on finding the issue. Well 5 days go by, only 4 were business days. In that time no one called me to inform me of the issue with the vehicle. I called my sales agent only to be told he was off that day and to contact his manager, which I did, I called the used lot twice that day just asking for an update and information as now I have no vehicle and need to get to work. He did not bother to call me back at all. The next day I called to ask if my car was being serviced in the shop the agent who answered did not want to give me any information and tried to tell me she would have someone call me back. At this point I insisted she confirm my vehicle was in fact in the shop and being serviced. She still would not give me any info about the vehicle. We are on the 6th At this point I'm pretty upset with their lack of communication and customer service. I called again to ask for a manager on duty, I was told the manager was busy at that time. I explained my situation and that no one was returning my calls. I was very upset at this point, all I wanted was information to make other arrangements for transportation to work. I know they may not think that is important since they already received a check from my bank. The next day I got a call from the service department with a message that my car is ready for pick up. My sales agent nor his boss could not be bothered to call me. I feel like I was treated poorly and with disrespect. The issue was the transmission, and they didn't want to tell me. A fluid change was done but they stated this may not fix the issue and it may need a new torque converter. In the end I feel like all they wanted was my money then treated me less than a human once they got it. They are predators and from my experience I have nothing good to say about their customer service. read more

Dishonest and extremely overpriced. I bought a 2007 Camry there that literally had the exterior "repaired" with visible screws sticking out of the bumper. I was told the car had passed the mechanical inspection and they told me what was wrong with it....but they didn't tell me everything. I immediately took it to another mechanic and he told me the brake pads were going into the rotors so I needed to replace all that. According to Island Honda the brakes were fine, but clearly this was a lie. There was also a crack in the radiator they either didn't notice or didn't tell me about, and the power steering seems unfixable. Mechanic I took it to you told me the car was only worth about 500 bucks yet I paid 2400 not including the repairs I had to get done. I got ripped off. PROCEED WITH CAUTION. read more

I have to say how impressed and satisfied I am with my car buying experience here. My sales person was Danny Park and he is a really great guy, no sales pressure at all, very friendly and outgoing. I wasn't sure what kind of car I was looking for but he showed me a few and I decided on a HRV. He worked hard to get the right price and deal, I drove off the lot knowing I made the right choice, I highly recommend seeing him as your sales person!! Worst customer experience ever. These individuals don't know how to be decent people. The salespeople told us to wait for their call to return. When we got there, they scolded us saying we came too late. When we explicitly said we couldn't wait there long, they profusely tried to have us wait and lied about the wait time. Chelsea from Finance was extremely disrespectful. She berated us and talked to us as if we were children. There was miscommunication on her part and rather than correcting it, she put the blame on us. These people only care about the money rolling in. read more

We really enjoy island Honda on Maui. We have bought a couple of vehicles here and the service department is always top notch. Recently we had a vehicle with an airbag recall and they have provided us with a brand-new loaner car. While we were not able to get the same type of vehicle as a loaner, we are enjoying driving the Honda Fit anyway. We will definitely continue to give Island Honda our business in the future. read more

This is a review for the Used Car Island Honda. I went to the the new dealership to look for a used car and was driven by a sales person to the used car lot down the street. I was browsing the lot with the sales guy and wasn't finding anything that i was even interested in. I told him I was just interested in a small Suv to use for the beach and commuting to work. I looked at a few honda Cr-v's online before going down to the lot. We we looked at the vehicles they were a mess. Damage all over the vehicles, dents, chips, rust, and even trash in the Suv's. This was honestly they worst used car dealership i have ever been to. The sales guy i rode over to the dealership with was really nice and helpful. I just couldn't find myself spending 10K for a Suv with 120k miles on. The Vehicle they had for sale on their website was low miles and not a bad price. I asked about this vehicle and it turns out it isn't for sale and needs a brand new engine and is in the shop. When I told the sales guy i was done looking he went and got another manager. The manager was nice but I was left standing around the lot in the sun waiting for who knows what. When he finally came out he walked around with me and showed me some crappy cars and tried to up sell them as great vehicles. I told him i wasn't interested in anything on the lot. He then walked back inside and I assumed the sales guy i rode over with would come out and we could catch a ride back to the Dealership. Well that wasn't the case. The manager walked back out and started telling me the other vehicles he had for sale and how low the miles were. Vehicles i had zero interest in. I went here just to have a key copied. And it took an hour and a half.... On the bright side they did wash my car for free. Just be aware, they do want you to wonder in their show room to try and sell you a Honda. Be aware the service staff will try to up sale you other RECOMMENDATION services. Just look at your factory Honda manual, and stand your ground if they push. Lol. Tip: I had to set an appointment a week ahead of time just to copy a key and get rechipped. Which I think needs to be improved. The other Yelp service reviews are pretty spot on, here on Yelp. And once again, for me, just for a key. Another tip: As for the sale peeps, be adamant, that you only want to deal with salesman you feel comfortable dealing with at this establishment. I ended up redirected w/ a sales person prior to browsing before, that I did not get a well established rapport with. We've bought four Hondas from Island Honda so far. This is the only Honda dealer on Maui. The prices are pretty competitive. DEALERSHIP: Long-time Maui peeps know that their old location in Wailuku had the most horrible parking lot and service bay, perched on the steepest of driveways. Thankfully they're conveniently located in town, on a flat surface. The showroom is bright and airy but very bleak. The inventory lot is small, and the parking area even smaller. SERVICE: We've had good service from the sales and finance people, and great service at the service department. HIGHLIGHT: I remember when my '97 Prelude SH just ticked just over 36K on the odometer, and my CD player died. They ordered me a new one under warranty regardless. :) read more
