Poke nachos
Amber G.

Right next to the Dolphin Quest. Lovely location. Been coming here since 2019 and love the poke nachos. Sadly the prices (as everywhere) have gone up and the portions have gone way down. In 2019 the poke nachos were 3 times the size they are now. Other down side we came at 4:30 pm they close at 5pm, so I think what we got was old. The poke was no longer a dark pink color but almost a brownish color. The guys got the bowl and $27 for 2 cups of rice and 5 pieces of ahi. It was disappointing So next time don't order any seafood near closing time. The burger looked amazing that our Captain had

The Lagoon Grill is worth the price of admission, which is free by the way! While enjoying burgers and tacos here at Lagoon Grill, Dolphin Quest is steps away. The entire time we enjoyed drinks and bites, we watched the Dolphins swimming, jumping and performing fun Dolphin tricks. The kids absolutely loved this lunch outing. What a cool if not unintended experience. This open air restaurant is a great experience. Not only great lunch menu but being surrounded by the lagoons with water activities and then the lagoon encapsulating the Dolphins. The waitstaff is wonderful and this place is bustling with happiness. Win win

Fish and chips Small pieces of fish. But tasty.

As a part of the Waikoloa village, this place is one of the few choices available to Hilton's guests for lunch. Similar to other places in the village, it is very overpriced. That's the main negative point. The view is beautiful. You see the ocean while you dine. The service is timely and friendly. We ordered Poke salad, Fish and chips, and chicken katsu sandwich. The food was good. Well prepared and tasty. The portion size is small. Overall, a good place for a lunch if you don't mind paying too much.

Food is good, nothing amazing; service is great - super quick and super friendly staff. Main drawback is the price Pictured - asian chicken salad and tuna melt

Service is super fast! Ordered food and the turnaround time was amazing. Had the kimchi burger that was super juicy. Everyone in my group was happy. If you use the hgv experiences card, it is only ONE complimentary drink per card. The fish tacos were really pretty. The burger (medium cooked) was juicy and the bun was a kind of sweet bread! Paired very well with the kimchi. My group preferred the regular fries over the sweet potato fries.

I'm not one to go to poolside bars and restaurants as the food is overpriced and average. However, Lagoon Grill was definitely worth every penny spent and super tasty. I went here with a friend and can say we finished our plates and left with a full stomach. The portions are generous and the staff are friendly. The only downside is that the food is a little pricey but you have to think it's at a hotel. I'm still impressed at how good the food was and will definitely be back if I'm at the Hilton.

Fish tacos and a high noon

Elpidio may need a nudge to be fun, but he was enjoyable. Scotty is a joy. Nice to be out of the sun and refreshed. Yes prices are crazy. Yes you chose resort life. Leave the resort if you wanted more reasonable. Fish tacos did the trick - not the best on the island.

Food came out insanely fast. Literally in a couple minutes. And surprisingly it wasn't that bad. Was it overpriced? Yes. But being located within a resort AND in Hawaii...what can you expect...it's to be expected. Our server was nice. Wasn't a fan of the captive dolphins right next to the restaurant. Sure it's cool that there's dolphins but it's also sad and depressing to see that many dolphins stuck in that tiny "lagoon" waiting to work their next shift. That "lagoon" is nothing compared to the expanse of the ocean.

Eva G.

3.5 rating. Located at the Hilton Waikoloa. Of course that's why prices are way up. Lol But I must say it was pretty tasty and the views of the lagoon and dolphin training area are nice.

Nui is a restaurant located on the grounds of Hilton Waikoloa, between the convention center and…read morepalace towers. It's a casual Italian spot with high prices, reflecting its location. We went early as we were dining with kids. We were pleased to see hat they had a keiki (kids) menu and that children under 5 eat free off of that menu. There were a few options - kids salad, fried cheese ravioli, penne rigate, spaghetti pomodoro, and several sides. While there was an option to add chicken to the penne, there was no option to add meatballs for instance to the spaghetti. We ended up having to order the Roman style focaccia and add meatballs ($24 total) just to add meat to the kids pasta. That was a bit of an annoyance as we didn't need the bread or extra meatballs. For entrees, we order the chicken parmigiana and Roman pizza - amante della carne (Italian sausage, pepperoni, and smoked bacon). The chicken parm came with spaghetti that was perfectly al dente and the chicken was good but could've used more cheese. The pizza was fantastic. The crust was soft and chewy in a great way, the cheese pulled well, and the toppings were plentiful. We ended the meal with a trio of sorbets - mango, POG, and cherry. The standout was the mango as it had real fruit in it. I can't say I'd had cherry sorbet before but I was pleasantly surprised. The drinks were good as well. Our server was attentive and the ambiance was nice. We had plenty of leftovers, making the value better than it initially appeared.

We got lucky and were seated on the beach, just ten yards or so from the water's edge. The place is very nicely lit with torches and table lamps, great for photos and a celebratory feel. Our server, whose name I didn't catch, was friendly and helpful but not super present. He checked on our table a little infrequently. Granted, it was pretty busy. The food was mid. The loaded tots were visually appealing but average tasting. I got the LLBC burger and it was tough, and some of the toppings tasted like refrigerator. The sweet potato fries were okay but lukewarm when they came out, like they had been sitting. The chocolate banana cake also kind of tasted like fridge, but did have a good banana flavor. We would probably go back just for the great ambience, but I do wish the food tasted a little fresher.

We made our reservation several weeks in advance...and I would recommend doing that online and in advance since the place was packed! We arrived in formal attire: I was in my wedding dress and my husband in a suit. Everyone was super friendly to us and really made us feel so special. Our table was right in front to the live musician, so that was great. I had the coconut shrimp, whereas my husband ordered a veggie burger. We did some garlic bread as an appetizer, and the appetizer waa great! My husband was super happy with his burger, and he spent the next week trying a burger at every restaurant to top it. To my knowledge, I think there was only one place that topped it. My shrimp was soo good! I love coconut shrimp and am somewhat of a tough critic. Lava Lava nailed it. However, the coconut rice wasn't amazing. It was a rather disappointing side to such a great main. We shared a slice of coffee cheesecake as a gift from the server, which we were extremely grateful for. Honestly, our server was amazing the entire time, and the cheesecake was spot-on and a perfectly sweet end to our meal. We had a great time here, and we would recommend the restaurant to anyone!

He was so attentive (he saw we were having a moment holding hands together and instead of interrupting us, he came back later to allow us time to enjoy and finish that special moment) and he gave personalized food recommendations that were on point. The manager Chris came out to greet us during the dinner as well to make sure everything was going great which was a nice touch. The ribeye steak was out of this world. So juicy and flavorful and cooked to perfection in a red wine sauce. The salmon fettuccini was amazing as well. Some highlights include the seared ahi starter, which came bathing in a delicious creamy sauce. The sauce was novel and a nice spin on an already delicious dish. The ono was also done nicely. I have to dock them a little on their steak. With steakhouse pricing, they weren't able to produce a solid steakhouse crust on the ribeye. Without a crust, the cut ended up a little floppy and watery. The desserts were also a little off. The sauce on the passion fruit cheesesteak was amazing, but the texture of the cheesecake itself wasn't great. Their mint ice cream was also a little freezer burned. Overall you can have a good time here, but I think the pricing puts the restaurant into the elite league, and I don't think they're quite ready to play there.

I haven't done a review in a while but I felt like one was due for this restaurant…read more I just want to say we have been to a lot of restaurants on the big island and some multiple times including the newly opened marlin bar. Consistency was key here and everything was on point. Service was excellent, food came out quick and hot, fresh and delicious. The prices were reasonable especially for the quality of food. We went to napua for the 2nd time and it was not as good. They raised their prices again so 62 for a plate of fish (mahi mahi with rice and green beans) and it was dry and lacking in flavor. Just for 3 of us it came to almost 200.00 you just pay for the ambience at that restaurant. We went to lava lava beach club and the prices went up and the food was terrible. Again your paying for the ambience their but there the pork was fatty, fish sandwich tasted like canned tuna and the pork sandwich idk it tasted like the smell of throw up. Ceviche was horrible and paid 30 dollars for a tiny tostada with some shrimp and fish that was super super fishy. This was the best place so far besides pono Hawaiian deli (poke spot best poke ever!!) or getting your own fish at the farmers market in Waimea I wanted to add this to highlight this particular restaurant. We ate here 4 times (3 dining and once to go) and all the times it was so good. We got the island waygu burger it was cooked perfect and seasoned well, we ordered the coconut shrimp this was delicious, we ordered fish and chips (lightly breaded not overly oily or fried it was light airy and crispy), we ordered the corn dip and this was surprisingly refreshing with their homemade chips, order the hot chicken sandwich and wow this was lightly panko breaded and it was not overly hot and spicy everything paired well with it, also got the regular waygu burger and it was again cooked perfect and exploded with flavor. Finally tonight came back on our last night and I ordered the kona kampachi, wow wow wow it was cooked to perfection (finally a restaurant that can cook fish correctly and not over cook it) the miso butter worked perfectly and the portion was huge!! And only for 36 dollars like com on. My wife got the mahi mahi fish tacos and that was delicious with the lime cream sauce. All the nights we went there never broke 100 dollars and that says something in Hawaii and it literally beats every other restaurant so far for the price, ambience and quality of food. Consistency was key please if you're reading this owner or chef of this restaurant please stay this consistent!! Thank you!!

For starters, there's no reservations - walk ins only but we've never waited more than 10 minutes for a table for lunch or dinner. Our first time visiting was for Mother's Day Lunch and it was delightful. We started with the steak flatbread which was soooo delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly and paired with delicious carmelized onions and arugula and the flat bread was a perfectly balanced crunch and doughiness. Then we shared the mahi mahi tacos, honey chicken sandwich, and chopped salad with fillet which were all incredible. Nothing was a miss! Our second time coming back during our vacation was for dinner, which had some new additions to the menu such as the shrimp garlic noodles which were an excellent blend of umami and richness that melts in your mouth.
