There are many reasons why the line is so long, and it's SO worth the wait. It's so refreshing to have them at the ballpark.

Parking 5/5 Shared strip mall parking with some dedicated parking in front. Never an issue finding a spot here. Atmosphere 5/5 The new owner refreshes the dining room every few years and certainly is an improvement from the previous owners. Small dining room with Vietnamese decor is clean and comfortable. Service 5/5 Very polite servers and owner. Our server took our drink orders of two Vietnamese Coffees and a stater of rice paper spring rolls. Entrees were the brisket Pho, Bun Duc Biet rice noodles bowl which includes carrot and cucumber slivers, mint leaves, small lettuce leaves, sprouts sliced fried spring rolls, shrimp and beef. Sprinkled with peanuts. Food 5/5+ I've enjoyed coming here weekly for decades when I worked across the street at Motorola then General Dynamics when they bought our Government Division. Food here is freshly prepared, traditional Vietnamese food. Both the Pho and (B4) Bun Dak Biet Rice Vermicelli bowl were excellent. The starters were on the small side. I bought a (B4) Bun Duc Viet to take home for lunch tomorrow. $72.86 plus $20 cash tip for excellent service. When looking for Vietnamese in Scottsdale, Saigon Bowl my friends-SYOY!

It's close to the house, easy for a laid-back lunch, and one of those places you end up recommending without even thinking about it. I've worked my way through most of the menu at this point, and I honestly can't remember a single miss. The food is consistently fresh, full of flavor, and cooked the way it should be. No shortcuts, no off days. I usually land on the crispy rice clay pot, which has that perfect mix of texture and depth. My wife goes straight for the lemongrass rice plate every time and doesn't even consider switching it up. That alone tells you something. We almost always start with a couple orders of spring rolls. Mix it up depending on the mood. They're light, fresh, and a good way to ease into the meal without overthinking it. The place itself is on the smaller side, but that's part of the charm. It feels relaxed, not cramped. Clean every time we've been in, which is something I notice more than I probably should. Service hits that sweet spot too. Attentive, friendly, but they're not hovering over your shoulder while you're trying to eat. Prices are more than fair for what you're getting, especially considering how consistent everything is. If you're anywhere near Scottsdale and want Vietnamese that just gets it right without making a big show of it, this is an easy choice. We keep coming back, and that's about as honest a review as it gets.

We were a party of 12 visiting on vacation, and none of us are from the area. We ordered spam musubi and a chicken skewer as appetizers. Both appetizers arrived well after our entrees had already been served and we had essentially finished eating. Each time we asked about them, we were repeatedly told, "They're coming." Mind you, these are simple appetizers that should not take anywhere near that long to prepare. When we asked for the third time, we finally asked that the appetizers be cancelled since we had already finished our meal. At that point, the gentleman working the front area , tall, with red hair, loudly yelled from across the restaurant, in an extremely rude and confrontational tone, "It's already on the grill!" There was absolutely no reason to speak to paying customers that way. His response was unprofessional, unnecessary, and honestly created a very hostile and uncomfortable feeling during what should have been an enjoyable dinner, especially while our group was on vacation and simply trying to enjoy a meal together. When the appetizers eventually came out, we left them sitting there because we were already done eating and ended up taking them to go. He eventually told us they would be removed from the bill, which we appreciated, but that did not excuse the way the situation was handled. Again, the food was good, but good food does not make up for poor service and especially not for an employee speaking to customers in an aggressive and disrespectful manner. Management should seriously address how customers are treated, because the interaction with this particular employee overshadowed what could have otherwise been a good dining experience for our party of 12.

We found out that the staff closed for vacation. One of the staff thought there was a note on the door stating their vacation closure. Maybe, maybe not. We'll never know and we're happy the place was still in business. We arrived early with 2 patrons finishing up their meal. We got chicken with black bean sauce, no spice. They do offer a spicy version of this dish if you so desire. Service is super fast especially when there are no other patrons. The meal was good. My slight complaint is the amount of green peppers vs chicken pieces. Green peppers do not agree with me so they were all pushed to the side. We will get a veggie dish or something else next time. They really need more help as Service is pretty much nonexistent. The owner waited on us. He's very pleasant. I think an issue besides not having enough help whether it's in the kitchen or a servers is they're doing a very brisk takeout business along with trying to serve dine in guests. I was observing people that were lined up to take out their food and many of them were waiting 30 minutes or more. . also, there are two areas where they are serving, which is bizarre. We thought the food was good. Would like to go back, but we arrived about 515 and finally started getting food an hour later. Next time we'll go at 4:30.!
