Boat noodles B2 (brisket & meatball)
    Melinda C.

Highly recommend this place. We ordered the B2 boat noodles (brisket & meatball) and Poo Goong Obb Woon Sen (cellophane noodles with shrimp, bacon, mushroom, crab meat, ginger, veggies). Both dishes were DELICIOUS - just a bit too salty. Reminded me of authentic thai town restaurants in LA. Some lacking areas were that the waiters didn't check on us at all during the meal, and they play loud, copyright-free edm remixes of pop songs. However I'd still love to come back and try other dishes I was eyeing like the larb salad and tom yum soup.

The food was really good! The waitress was really sweet and made sure we knew the levels of joy we'd were choosing. The water was absolutely delicious. That's saying a lot because I never like water in AZ even when filtered but I drank most of it by myself. The restaurant was quaint and intimate and very lovely.

I ordered the ribeye special, I forget what it was called, but I think it had the name tiger in it. It was delicious, the only thing I would do differently in the future is ask for no peppercorn because every time I bit down on them that ruined the bite for me. I'm sure anybody that enjoys them would love it. The ribeye was prepared perfectly! It was very tasty and the accompanying sauce was delicious. Service was very rushed but they were super busy. They checked on me regularly enough as they ran by which I appreciated and they had a great menu. I would definitely go back and order the same thing. The cucumber salad was also very appetizing and light. Most of the appetizers were a bit pricey otherwise I would've tried a few..

I do love a good, hidden gem! Stopped by for lunch and really enjoyed it. The chicken satay was the best I think I've ever had. We came towards the end of lunch service and they had run out of the soup, which was a bummer but it's just an excuse to come back! Food was really good! The chicken was amazing and the portions were really good! Note on the lunch menu - we thought the combo came with an appetizer but it's an extra cost. Also, I wish refills were included in the beverage. Weird (notable) mention but the bathroom was cute! All in all, really good food. Will absolutely come back!

My husband and I had a very good meal at Chada Thai on a recent Thursday night... It had been a long day and neither of us felt like cooking, so when I suggested we go out for Thai food, he was agreeable. We ended up at this restaurant, which was formerly Noodles Ranch, and shared edamame, Pad Thai with Chicken and a Ginger Mixed Veggie Dish with Tofu. Medium Spice on both dishes. Service was friendly and quick, prices and portions were reasonable, atmosphere is comfortable but far from fancy. That said, it was a positive overall experience and we will likely be back soon! It's worth mentioning that I've also ordered delivery from Chada before and also recommend it for to-go orders!

Nice spot for Thai food near my gym, tonight I went with a friend and we enjoyed ourselves sharing papaya salad, tempura avocado, Glass noodles and Tom Kha soup. The only issue was that they drizzle a mayo sauce on the avocado and it wasn't mentioned in the description of the starter. Overall the food was good and I would return. There is plenty of seating in the dining room including booths if you want to be cozy. Parking is free but can be difficult depending on the time and day of the week. The service was gracious and attentive. I was there for Dinner and service starts at 4:30pm and that is when the doors open. Check the hours before you plan on stopping by.

    Green curry (with extra vegetables)
    Catalina L.

Very flavorful and tasty food for the two dishes. We opted for medium heat and this was the right amount of average heat but not overwhelming. Staff was friendly and leaves a water jug for you to refill on own. Overall would give this more of a 4.5/5 Pad See Ew - great noodle texture and had some of that roasted wok flavor. This was well made and really enjoyed! Customized to remove bell peppers Green Curry - the recommended more flavorful curry (compared to the red) and was enjoyed too! I liked this mix of veggies like broccoli, bamboo shoots, bell peppers, carrots. The side of the white rice was small bowl and off ratio portion to how much curry portion there was. Still tasty

Love this place! Good place for a gathering with friends, quick lunch, or a casual date night. It's close to home and the food is consistently delicious. My favorite drink is their Thai tea and my favorite dishes are the glass noodles, the Pad Thai noodles, and the mango sticky rice. The ambiance is relaxed and the decor is bright, modern, and trendy. This place does get busy in the evenings so please be patient. Fortunately, they've set up a seating inside for those who need to wait. The service is usually pretty good considering how busy they can get. I do think they're a little pricey but totally worth it when you can splurge.

    Chinese broccoli with crispy pork
    Payeng L.

This is a small restaurant in a strip mall like parking lot. The interior has nice ambient lighting and was clean. We got there just as it they turned the "open" sign on so the waitress looked kinda shocked when we walked in but we were greeted and the staff seemed friendly. We ordered the beef larb, lunch green chicken curry and the lunch Chinese broccoli with crispy pork. The food was excellent & very authentic. The spice level here is no joke so if you can't handle spicy, stick with spice level 1-3. My husband's green curry was a spice level 4 and he said it had a very nice kick but he can handle spicy. I'm so glad we found this placd

Service 5/5 Very polite servers and owner. Our server took our drink orders of two Vietnamese Coffees and a stater of rice paper spring rolls. Entrees were the brisket Pho, Bun Duc Biet rice noodles bowl which includes carrot and cucumber slivers, mint leaves, small lettuce leaves, sprouts sliced fried spring rolls, shrimp and beef. Sprinkled with peanuts. Food 5/5+ I've enjoyed coming here weekly for decades when I worked across the street at Motorola then General Dynamics when they bought our Government Division. It's close to the house, easy for a laid-back lunch, and one of those places you end up recommending without even thinking about it. I've worked my way through most of the menu at this point, and I honestly can't remember a single miss. The food is consistently fresh, full of flavor, and cooked the way it should be. No shortcuts, no off days. I usually land on the crispy rice clay pot, which has that perfect mix of texture and depth. My wife goes straight for the lemongrass rice plate every time and doesn't even consider switching it up. That alone tells you something. We almost always start with a couple orders of spring rolls. Mix it up depending on the mood. They're light, fresh, and a good way to ease into the meal without overthinking it. The place itself is on the smaller side, but that's part of the charm. It feels relaxed, not cramped. Clean every time we've been in, which is something I notice more than I probably should. Service hits that sweet spot too. Attentive, friendly, but they're not hovering over your shoulder while you're trying to eat. Prices are more than fair for what you're getting, especially considering how consistent everything is. If you're anywhere near Scottsdale and want Vietnamese that just gets it right without making a big show of it, this is an easy choice. We keep coming back, and that's about as honest a review as it gets.

We have yet to have one bad dish. The chicken mole is different from our first visit. It's a grilled chicken instead of crispy chicken, which we liked more. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the perfect patron margarita, tasted and looked like straight lemon juice. Service makes or breaks the dining experience. Tatiana was amazing. She recommended her favorite dishes and explained the menu in depth, something we wished for on our first visit because the menu is huge. Her personality and attention to the details made the meal for us. We will be requesting her for all of our future visits Overall, great experience and great food. We recommend Sumomaya

SumoMaya Updated Yelp Review: 2.0/5…read more This one pains me to write. The last time I dined at SumoMaya was about 10 years ago and at that time I gave it a 5/5-star experience. I remembered it as a vibrant, trendy, elevated dining destination with great food and a fun atmosphere. So when I decided to bring my mom (who had never been) to try their Arizona Restaurant Week menu, I was genuinely excited. Unfortunately... much has changed. Let me start with the positives because there were a few. The inside ambiance is still fantastic. SumoMaya absolutely nails the vibe. Modern, sexy, upscale energy with a lively crowd, gorgeous interior design, and a house DJ spinning deep house that honestly may have been the highlight of the night. If you're looking for a place to grab cocktails, enjoy music, and soak in a cool atmosphere? Sure. For that alone, they still have something going for them. Also, our server was excellent -- friendly, attentive, and professional. Now...the food. We arrived around 7:30 PM and didn't leave until roughly 9:30 PM, which felt excessive considering we were doing a fixed Restaurant Week menu. While our server was great, the kitchen/food pacing was painfully slow. The Breakdown: Maya Roll - 4/5 The clear winner of the night. Fresh, flavorful, well-balanced, and honestly the only dish that reminded me why SumoMaya used to have the reputation it did. Pad Thai Pork "Al Pastor" - 1/5 This was rough. The noodles were noticeably overcooked, the flavor was bland, and overall it felt confused conceptually and poorly executed. Definitely not a dish I'd ever order again. Chilean Sea Bass w/ Miso Glaze - complicated . This dish deserves its own courtroom trial. The first sea bass plates came out undercooked to the point where the fish practically looked ready to swim away. Let's be clear: Chilean sea bass is not sushi. Serving undercooked fish in this context is not just disappointing -- it's a legitimate food safety concern. That initial version? 0/10. Once corrected, the bigger issue became the miso glaze, which was aggressively overpowering. To the point where both my mom and I felt a bit queasy after a few bites. Without lime? 1/5. With lime squeezed over it to cut through the miso overload? 3/5. Even then, it was just... mediocre. I've had far better Chilean sea bass elsewhere -- buttery, delicate, flaky perfection. This wasn't that. Given the glowing reviews I had read about this dish, this was one of the bigger disappointments of the night. Mexican Street Corn - 0/5 As a side, we were served the Mexican Street Corn, and unfortunately this was another major miss. I love Mexican street corn and have ordered it at countless restaurants throughout Arizona, so I was excited to try SumoMaya's version. Sadly, this wasn't even remotely close to what I'd expect from authentic or well-executed street corn. My mom, who is a chef, immediately commented that it tasted like canned corn, and honestly, I had to agree. There was very little of the bold flavor profile that makes Mexican street corn so addictive. The cotija, lime, spice, and cream elements that should make the dish pop were either absent or completely overwhelmed by the watery dish itself. 0/5 stars. In fact, this may have been the worst Mexican street corn I've ever had at a restaurant. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, especially considering how many excellent versions of this dish can be found throughout the Valley. Bread Pudding - 0/5 I don't say this lightly: possibly the worst bread pudding I've ever had. Dry. Hard. Portions of the bread tasted borderline burnt. Instead of warm, decadent comfort-food dessert vibes, it felt like chewing on a stale kitchen experiment gone wrong. Final Verdict: This is where it gets tough. If we hadn't been dining on the Restaurant Week prix fixe, I honestly would have felt severely swindled, because the standard menu pricing here is not cheap -- and based on the quality of what came out of the kitchen, I simply don't see the value. The only reason this review gets 2 stars instead of 1 is because: Great ambiance Awesome house music / deep house DJ Excellent server One good sushi roll But based purely on food quality? This was deeply disappointing. I genuinely hate saying this because I remembered SumoMaya so fondly, but I will be shocked if this restaurant maintains longevity if this is the level of food consistently leaving the kitchen. Would I come back? Maybe for drinks, ambiance, and the music. Definitely not for dinner.

I ordered #2 - grilled pork, pate, fried egg, and with all the trimmings. Absolutely delicious! Bread was nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Protein fillings were not skimpy at all- the grilled pork was not overly salty, the pate was a nice thin creamy flavorful layer, and the fried egg was perfect and fluffy to top. The produce- pickled veggies with decent balance of cilantro and thinly sliced jalapeños! Omg soooo good. All fresh and flavorful! Can you pls open another eatery in San Antonio?!

An employee quickly cleared the table without hesitation, wiping it down and giving us a pleasant greeting. He was also clearing plates through the small space. It looked like there was just one person working the counter and he was also helping to cook. Everything was cooked to order. We ordered a BBQ pork banh mi, spring rolls, and a pork eggroll noodle bowl (which is my newest obsession). The vegetables on the sandwich were fresh and flavorful; we had some inconsistent knife cuts on the pork resulting in "a big 'ole hunk of meat" on one side of the sandwich, but no big deal. A few issues for me, which may not be a deterrent to you: The rice noodles were overcooked to my taste and my noodle bowl was missing the crunch of bean sprouts! Those same mushy noodles were in the spring rolls. We both didn't care for the addition of bacon in the spring roll and the peanut sauce was the consistency of peanut butter, but we mixed it with siracha and made our own little spicy sauce. All in all a friendly, clean, and inviting place!
