This is the third time I am ordering from here, thé First Time it was good, the second time the chicken pasta had way to much heavy cream or Alfredo sauce I wanted jerk flavor, there wasn't enough. the third time they forget my sprite, the Mac an cheese is way over prized and so are all the sides with it being such small portions, Theirs not even a cup of it in there when you get it. I can make better Mac and cheese than this. Also for a side of sauce it is a 1 dollar and it's such a small container. My brown stew chicken was barely any chicken and when I put substitute veggies for Mac the lady tried to charge me 2 dollars more, and guess what when I got the order their was barely a scoop of Mac in there. How are you going to charge extra for only a scoop of Mac. I have tried other Caribbean places where their lunch places was at a good price and portions were great for the prices they charge. However this place needs to stop skimping the rice and chicken and put more food; or decrease their prices for the sides. I get they are trying to make money but people work hard for their money and just want good food.. the portions are just way to damn small, food is over prized. This place needs some improvement. This Brown Stew Kingfish is on point. Sometimes it's a little spicy (like the pepper bust in the pot), but for the most part it's really good. (Have ordered this meal several times.) I love the rice & peas, soft & tasty; & the vegetables are good too. I have visited this restaurant several times & they haven't disappointed yet. I've had the snapper which was really good & the roti (buss up shot) was great!! I will be visiting this restaurant again & again. So I'd been hearing about how awesome this place was, and decided to check it out for dinner. Ordered the sweet n' sour shrimp and veggie sides. The size of the shrimp was steamed and lovely! The only issue was the sauce. It wasn't sweet or sour, and the sauce was watery enough to spill into the veggies, which changed their taste too. Maybe make a better sauce? I have two issues with this place. The prices are different from the menu to the register. The second thing I tried the jerk chicken wrap and their were three small pieces of chicken packed with a Garden full lettuces inside. This had to be the worst chicken wrap ever. It's crazy how Jamaican food is so great but whenever we encounter a Jamaican restaurant the service is terrible this has to change and island quinine is officially part of this crew. I am only rating them a 3 because the food is good/average. I love black owned business but this one in terms of customer service is awful. I called and placed a carry out order the lady who took my order told me that my food will be ready in 20 minutes. I was already in the car driving over there so I got there early. And when I came in to pay for my food early She had an attitude and said "I told you on the phone it's going to be 20 mins". So this "restaurant" isn't authentic Jamaican food , the jerk chicken and overall seasons taste like taste like hot sauce with BBQ sauce on it. The customer service is EXTREMELY lacking. The employee was right in front of me talking to an another employee 10 mins before they even acknowledged me to order food. They're extremely disorganized, the food takes a long time and ordering takes a while because they don't have a grasp of the menu or what anything taste like. Also they just threw my food together in a container , there was no type of separation/ highlighting the food. The picture below is my food 3-5 mins after I got it. I asked for no plantains they still gave me some which is a health violation because I could be allergic. Overall I'm just extremely disappointed in this new restaurant in my area now. I inquired about oxtails was told kitchen was closed. I inquired about fried fish which takes less that 30 mins was told kitchen was closed. Inquired about curry goat was told kitchen was closed. At this point I was like why are you even opened if kitchen is closed for every single item. I stated that advertised hours of operations states closed at 11pm. The staffs response was due to time going forward or backwards hours are not consistent. At the end of the day that's false advertisement and daylight savings has nothing to do with hours of operations. This place has horrible customer service and staff is beyond rude. Wow! This place was suggested by my sister and I'm glad i went! She suggested that i order ahead. When i arrived the line was a little chaotic but my food was ready. We ordered jerk chicken, peas and rice, curry chicken and white rice. Each meal came with cabbage and fried plantains. The containers were small and i was annoyed but it packed a lot of food! Let's start with The customer service, absolutely horrible! My husband clearly ordered a beef patty it was the last beef patty in the warmer. I asked do you have any more beef patties she said no that is the last one. I said ok. We did not receive any beef patty and we asked why she did not ring up the beef patty my husband ordered, she said because we did not confirm the beef patty. Mind you the beef patty was the first thing we ordered! She went on to selling it to the customer behind us came in after us. Then said to us we did not confirm the beef patty that's why we didn't get it. My question is then how do we get the rest of the order because we didn't confirm any of this and you never read us back our order. We ordered two small fish tea soup. She charged us for one large fish soup and one small fish soup. Mind you we said two small fish soup. Don't let me get started on this jerk chicken. This is not jerk chicken I don't know what it is maybe barbecue chicken but it's not a jerk chicken this place is not authentic at all. The jerk chicken taste like cardboard with jerk bbq sauce! The mac & cheese is literally noodles and cheddar cheese. However the mac & cheese might be the best thing out of all of it because at least it doesn't taste like cardboard. The cashier was very rude! How she gonna tell us what we ordered when we ordered it! Obviously the mask cause some hearing issues! I will never step foot back in this restaurant. We ordered jerk chicken and glazed pineapple chicken meals and the chicken tasted as if it wasn't chicken! It was chewy and thick and looked almost like pork. When we called they said they rarely serve pork. We didn't want any refunds but they were resistant on trying out their own chicken to understand what we were pointing out. I've been to a few of their other locations and have had no issues. So when I saw they opened up closer to me, I was excited. I went in and got what I normally get Curry Chicken which comes with rice and peas, plantains, and cabbage. I should've known something was off when the cabbage was not even cooked like their other locations normally do. Their rice and peas was terrible. Tasted like they sprinkled cheap parmesan cheese on top of it. And, as someone already wrote, the plantains are not good either. Seems like they weren't cooked all the way through.
