    Menu & counter top
    Keyser S.

The menu glows overhead like a digital shrine, promising abundance, but the reality of the snapper betrays the cosmic lesson: flesh is finite, and fish remain stubbornly smaller than human hunger might wish. Yet the special--two for forty--reminds us that economies, like tides, demand balance, and you walk away feeling you struck a bargain with the abyss. The stew peas, enriched with salt pork, arrive as a reminder of mortality's taste: smoky, earthy, comforting, a meal that grounds one in the inevitability of both pleasure and decay. Service, however, is warm and human, a gentle counterpoint to the unfeeling machinery of vents and coolers overhead. Even the receipt, with its precise surcharges, carries the faint humor of civilization--an extra dollar and change, paid to the void, for the crime of plastic swiping. In such surroundings, you find not harmony but a kind of survival: bright sodas lined in cold rows, laughter drifting from a table, and the unremarkable beauty of a good plate placed before you.

I love me some roti, not many places around the DMV can make it good, but lemme tell you, I will drive here for that. Honorable mention for ox tail!! Now try this, Get some coco bread add jerk chicken pattie and drizzle some ox tail sauce all over, mannnnn!! I'll be back for more delicious eats on the menu!! Good fast service!!

Food. Carribean food is delicious. But the coconut shrimp I ate here were fishy, overcooked and didn't seem fresh. All side dishes (cabbage, rice, plantains) were mediocre at best. Not the best meal. Lemon Cake for dessert tasted off. Looks pretty, but not the best lemon cake I have ever had. Service, people and the smiles were amazing. I was treated well here. Very nice people. Ambience was very cool. Felt Carribean, super clean and modern and comfortable.

This review is from one who grew up on Jamaican food and knows how it should taste as well as picky because again I know how authentic Jamaican food should taste. It was my first time at the restaurant and decided to try since I was in the area and saw porridge on the menu which I was in the mood for. I was a bit hesitant after reading the drastically mixed reviews on Yelp. Not a fan of the porridge they were serving so I decided to try brown stew chicken with rice n peas lunch special. Always a "safe" go to item to try at a Caribbean restaurant if you're not familiar with there cooking. It usually gives you an idea how the rest of menu items might taste. I was also curious about there Roti which had some favorable reviews on Yelp. I agree with the many reviewers that said there rice n peas is dry and not very flavorful. Also, the brown stew chicken has a sweetish taste to it which I'm not a fan when it's prepared like that. Plantains and cabbage was good. Food came in one of the smallest container I've ever seen for a lunch item especially for that kinda price. WOW!!!!! I now see what the other Yelpers are saying. The lunch comes with a Lemonade or Raspberry Tea juice which is also in a rather small container. I mixed mine with mostly lemonade and a bit of Raspberry tea. Flavor was really good but way too sweet for my preference. There plain Roti has chick peas inside which I prefer it mixed in the dough but I do know authentically it's personal preference how various island people make it. It looked good but sadly it was quite bland. Customer service on the phone and in person was very good. The women on the phone was helpful in answering my questions. Her warm personality also encouraged me to give them a try. I have an extra star for that reason. Often times not the case at most Jamaican restaurants. The restaurant is nicely island style decorated and inviting. Very clean too. Overall it satisfied my curiosity but not my taste buds. If I do go back it would only be to try there porridge (satisfy curiosity) and a different type of juice.

Jamaican jerk chicken with, rice, beans, plantains, and greens

It was my first time eating at this place. From the outside, the decor reminded me of a strip club, tinted windows and bright neon signs. Inside it was nice and refreshingly cool considering how hot it is outside. Crystal took up my order of Jamaican jerk chicken with all the rice, plantains, beans, and greens. I also ordered the local punch drink which I don't know the name of. Crystal was friendly and had a bright smile. Anyways, let me not digress and get to the food. The pricing is very good for the amount of food that you get. The spicy jerk chicken was done right, neither under nor overcooked. It was delicious. The plantains balanced out flavor. I can't really complain, other than I wished that they would serve alcohol, preferably Red Stripe to go with the tasty meal. I would definitely come back here to eat again. If you're missing that island flavor, you should check Island Cuizine out. Satiated & satisfied, Run

Brand new neighborhood restaurant! I stopped by for lunch earlier. Ordered the lunch special jerk chicken meal. It was just ok - the jerk chicken could have been spicier and also it was a bit smaller than I expected. The rice and peas was pretty bland and there was barely any veggies. If ordering a lunch special and you're hungry you'll probably need a side to go with it! Better yet - just order a full meal. They're only a few weeks old. There's some seats available for dine-in and they offer delivery too (through doordash). I would try them again, but not in a hurry to do so. The service was great and the wait wasn't too long, but I was just expecting more.

This is the receipt of our order. This order took 45 minutes to complete. Buyer beware.

Being Jamaican I like to support my people. This place is clean.. clean on the inside the place looks professional. The service was fast and patient. The food was a lot of browning. If you go here and order anything brown buyer beware. Browning browning and browning. I was surprised because it seems to be all Jamaican s working there. It was just so clean. Also it took 45 minutes for them to fulfill my order. 45.. I was in shock. Why so long. I was spotted by a guy that came from the back and he fulfilled my order in 5 minutes after he saw me there for a while. I wish I could recommend this place but there is a bit off and the time it took. I placed the order at 2 forty and didn't get food in my hands until 315. I ordered wings meal and brown stew chicken.. bad move for this place. Bad move.. Browning.. all that browning. This place needs some adequate management. This place just lacks management. Too long for substandard everything..

2 meat combo , Jerk Chicken and Trelawny Fried Chicken, with callaoo.
    Alexis C.

Ok so let me first start off by saying that the food was sooo good . I ordered the 2 meat combo with Jerk chicken and Trelawny fried chicken, with callaloo and a salt fish patty. The chicken dishes were both good to the bone , the salt fish patty was on on point , I should've ordered two, and the rice and beans cooked to perfection. The only thing that stopped me from giving 5 stars was the quantity, barley 4 ounces of meat was given in total, literally 1 tablespoon of callaloo and only two plantains??? For the price I need a little more food , there's no lack with the quality but the quantity ,most definitely was lacking . Still overall the food was good , guess I will just order 2 portions next time .

Jerk chicken lunch special (2.5 out of 10)
    Charles M.

Have you ever felt like you wasted your money! Well that's exactly what I did at this new spot in Silver Spring. I ordered the lunch special and boy was it special. This was the jerk chicken lunch special and there was barely 2 ounces of meat. The chicken had a bit of flavor, by the rice was terrible. It had no flavor and to add insult to injury the plantains were hard and flavorless. I am so sorry to have to write this 3 star review. I would actually only give them 2.5 but that's impossible and I really feel bad for them. I know they opened during the pandemic, but I can't make something up. The food was not worth the price or the trip. I unfortunately will not be back.

We started with the Oysters Rockefeller, which were rich and flavorful, followed by the Grand Marnier Society Wings--a standout appetizer with a great balance of sweet and savory flavors. The Mac & Cheese was creamy and made for the perfect side. For our entrées, we ordered the Calypso Pan Seared Branzino and the Coconut Curry Snapper. Both dishes were served with vegetables of the day, rice and peas, and sweet plantains, creating a well-rounded and satisfying meal. The seafood was cooked well, and the Caribbean-inspired flavors added a unique twist to each dish. For drinks, we enjoyed The Pearl, the Lavender French 75, The Golden Hour, and an Old Fashioned. Each cocktail was well-crafted and paired nicely with the menu. We finished with the Warm Cookie Skillet, topped with vanilla bean ice cream and a caramel drizzle. It arrived warm, gooey, and was the perfect dessert to share. Beyond the food, the renovated space feels modern and inviting, making it a great option for date nights, celebrations, or a night out with friends. I had a taste for Caribbean food and had this place on my "to try"…read more I paid a little under $60 for 1/4 of jerk chicken ($16), coco bread ($4), red snapper - escovitch style ($35), rice and peas and a scoop of plantain. Not gonna lie, although the jerk chicken looked good, it was missing something seasoning wise. My red snapper barely had onions and carrots. NO PEPPERS. The rice and peas tasted like they were missing coconut milk. While I was waiting, I ordered a red stripe. They charged me $10.60 for that. I can get a case for that price. I was expecting $6 max. The sauce was so bland I started wondering if the seasoning just forgot to clock in for its shift. Calling it "jerk" shrimp was generous--there was nothing jerky about them unless you count how rubbery they were. The shrimp tasted like they were cooked by someone who mentally checked out before the pan even heated up. Whatever jerk flavor was advertised must've taken a detour, because it never made it anywhere near my plate. And the vegetables? They had all the energy of a mandatory Monday morning meeting. Overall, this dish promised bold Caribbean flavor but delivered a masterclass in disappointment. I won't be ordering it again. And honestly, if blandness were a sport, this dish would be taking home the gold. Oh, and it was overpriced. P.S. Despite being given the wrong order, the service was top tier and amazing.

At heart, I'm a man that truly enjoy most Caribbean dishes ( oxtails, goat, curry/jerk chicken,…read moreroti, etc ) So, I set out on a quest to give a new Caribbean cuisine restaurant a shot at winning me over. That's when I bumped into Caribbean Dish... The name got me, yes it's basic, but the title was exactly what I was looking for. The restaurant is in a small unassuming parking lot... if you don't know it's there, you probably will miss it ( so glad I didn't !! ) The minute I walked in, I felt authentic family vibes ( something I look for when choosing my Caribbean locations ) The service was very friendly, and they cleared everything up when I wasn't sure if my particular craving could be fulfilled ( the combo I desired wasn't on their daily menu ) My sights were set on the oxtail and curry goat combo ( of course with rice & peas and veggies ! ) And when I say the goat was tender, and seasoned to perfection... while the oxtails had that juicy meatiness that will for sure keep me coming back. The rice & peas were cooked just right ( texture was on point ) and the veggies still had that freshness that brought everything else together. I love my Caribbean dishes saucy and not dry ( they get two thumbs up in that department ! ) Family vibes, cheerful greeting, and amazing food.... Caribbean Dish you just locked yourself in a loyal customer !!!!! Give them a shot and I can almost guarantee you won't be disappointed !!!
