In a world where you've been wronged by airport food, paying high prices for mediocre food fear no more.... This place serves amazing burgers and some awesome local beers if you're in the mood for that. Had to write this review to tell weary travelers that THIS is a good spot for a good burger and beers. It's a airport spot so still pricey but atleast your not wasting money and feeling like ass about it

We only had time for a cocktail and an order of fries but it was amazing. The service was top notch h. Rebecca was fantastic . It's an airport restaurant so it's busy and crowded but we had a great time waiting for our flight.

Dry unseasoned jerk mahi sandwich and cold fries $23

Stopped in after getting off the ferry from St Thomas. It was the first place we saw and we were hungry! Seems like a tourist trap for sure. The food was underwhelming and overpriced. Our server was overly cheerful and left in the middle of our meal. The new server was new and struggled. It took forever to get our check. We had the crab cake Benedict and the jerk mahi sandwich. Food was mid at best. Crab cakes were mostly breading. The jerk mahi sandwich was literally unseasoned. The fish was dry and over cooked and the waffle fries were ice cold and hard like hockey pucks. The happy hour menu didn't look bad, but we won't be back to try it out. I'd skip this place and walk further down the strip or on a side street for more options.

We found a 5-star gem in an airport! We stopped in for dinner because our flight was delayed. Made it home really late, but dining at Islander made it worthwhile... the atmosphere was nice, and it was crowded! Service was great, swift and attentive, our waiter knew the drinks and the food and helped us land keepers. Mojitos were great, not too sweet. The Cuban Spring Rolls were crispy, hot and delicious. Great twist on a common appetizer. Red Snapper tacos and the blackened Red Snapper filet were both huge and delicious, fries were piping hot! On the recommendation of a fellow diner, we had the key lime pie for dessert. Great choice and strong finish to an awesome meal. We'd definitely stop in again!

Thankful they were open after 9 pm as my flight was delayed. Ordered the Red Snapper Reuben with truffle fries. The snapper was very moist and flavorful, with a 6 oz filet. Argelio was an amazing server, attentive to our needs and brought extra napkins and wet naps. Sat to under a speaker. The music was not overpowering, but made conversation a little difficult.

Included a photo of my $20 double shot of tequila. I swear it's a crime you can't bring your own liquids at the airport. I sat at the bar, which is this round bar top area in the middle of the restaurant. You have a full size food menu, and plenty of tables to sit up. If you're desperate enough for a cocktail, you need some food. Well then come here and be prepared to spend $100. Welcome to airport traveling.

Stopped in here at 8 this morning for a nice kale chicken Caesar salad. Took a few minutes to get seated, as they were crazy busy. Wanted something to eat before hopping on my 5 hour flight to Barbados. My waiter was friendly, gave me a sweet tea to go. 18% tip is added to your bill automatically. I'd probably eat here again. They had a rib eye special but just couldn't see eating it at 8 am! lol

18 precent gratutiy is automatic . You can add or leasen this Bartender said for an extra $4.50 you can get double shots. The bill showed a Shooter topper for $4.50 not actual double shots. She lied. Even on the menu it says $6 for double. She insisted a double shot was $4.50. Misleading staffer

I saw my daughter off at the airport, and we stopped at this place so she could have a quick lunch before her flight. This was a convenient spot near her gate. The service was quick and friendly. It's a small place, so it didn't take long to be served, which is a good thing if you are in a hurry. She ordered chicken wings and sweet potato fries with water. She said her food was pretty good. I tasted a wing and a couple of fries, and they were ok. Good for airport food. The place was clean and looked cared for. No complaints.

We went looking for a spot for breakfast and Islander Bar & Grill was located outside our gate. First and foremost, it's pricey. We spent $100 for 2 drinks, two omelettes, and a side of corned beef hash. One top of that, they gave us the wrong omelettes. The omelettes were good but the toast was not. We didn't care for the type of bread they use. The drinks were great. I guess for $18 a piece they should be. The location is clean and the staff is friendly. The service is prompt. Overall decent place just prepare to pay a hefty price.

We ordered the mahi mahi appetizer and a burger. The portion of mahi mahi was tiny. All the food was just lukewarm. Burger was undercooked. Service is slow. Go a few yards down the concourse and enjoy a warm homemade empanada for a fraction of the price.

Ok, so i already expect high costs and tasteless food, though I know some airports are bucking this trend. However, based on my experience at this restaurant, MIA is not one of those airports. We chose this restaurant solely because it was right next to our departure gate and we needed a filling sit down meal after turbulence on our previous 4-ish hour flight left us with no food service and only water. We were quickly seated inside and waited on promptly by Rosa. We selected the blackened fish sandwich and pork Cubano egg rolls. Rosa very persuasively asked if my husband wanted cheese, jalapeño, and avocado on his fish sandwich (which frankly was an odd combo for a fish sandwich), and if i wanted guacamole with my egg rolls, to which we said sure, not thinking there would be an up-charge. Both of these meals came with their intended sauces and there was no mention of additional costs for the items suggested by our server, nor do they appear on the menu. I feel Rosa took advantage of our being in a hurry and already travel weary to jack the bill up another $9 on an already expensive bill. In the end, my husband liked his fish sandwich, and the filet was large, tasty, and by itself, worth the price charged. However the added toppings detracted from the tasty sandwich, and my egg rolls were tasteless and nothing like a Cubano, clearly heated up from frozen and certainly not enhanced by guacamole Do yourself a favor and skip this restaurant all together, or at a minimum buyer beware of the upsells and things that could easily be made from frozen.

Near Gate D49/50. Very decent food at expected higher airport prices. Portions are larger and flavors are on point. We had a layover in MIA and dined here at the Islander Bar and Grill for a late lunch. Service was efficient and friendly. Searing was decently comfortable, and they have seating both inside and outside (outside means outside at the hallway area inside the terminal ;) ) Decent food all around. Very on point with flavors and ingredients tasted fresh and good.

It is right across from the airport. I mean right, right across. You hear the planes taking off. They are so loud, you feel that you are on the runway. They have a few hightops and tables in front of teh truck to sit and enjoy your meal. You can place your order at a kiosk, online, or with a cashier. There is tons of parking avaible in the hotel's parking lot. I think it would be fine to park there short term. The truck also has some loud music playing. They have a wide assortment of food available including burgers, fries, wings, salads, fish, ribs, pizza, quesadillas and empanadas. They also serve slushes and milk shakes. I got an order of honey & lemon wings and sweet chili & teriyaki wings with a side of fries. I also got some of the sweet plantains and a slush. The food was pretty pricey for what I got. But that may just be Miami pricing. The staff there was friendly and helpful. The food was ok. It was not great, just ok. The wings lacked flavor and I did not particularly like their texture. The sweet plantains were not very sweet. I was not a fan. The slush was delicious though and the fries were decent, but it is hard to mess them up. This is a hip spot to get some grub, especially for those staying at an Airport hotel. The vibe and atmosphere is great, but my food could have been better. I think a 3.5 star rating is more suitable, but that is not possible, So I think that it is closer to a 4 than a 3, and that is what I went with.

This tucked restaurant shares the same walls as the hotel. I initially was nervous because there were not a lot of customers inside. But experience turned out well. Food - We ordered the wings, meatball appetizer, and I chose the prime burger. Out of all the wings were my least favorite. It came with your choice of sweet chili glaze, ranch or bbq sauce. I'm not sure why I thought it would be tossed in a sauce, but they come naked and served with sauce choice on the side. They were just really hard for my poor sensitive teeth. There was no wow factor. The meatballs were very good and had a dollop of ricotta on each, marinara and bread on the side. Prime burger was my kind of burger: bacon, cheese, fried egg, mushrooms and sautéed onions. You get either French fries or a house salad as a side and you can't swap it out for anything else. Trust me I already asked lol I chose the salad. Came with onions, tomatoes (I asked for no tomatoes) and a sweet, light house dressing. My friend chose the picanha sandwich and said it was very good. Service was good, no qualms about it. Pretty standard. Nice little place for a quiet date, would recommend and would try again.
