The MANAGER said you should have called we are still here an hour after we close (I'm sorry but I don't work there to know your schedule but you can have these half eaten wings back)! I brought my grandmother in for lunch. We were seated immediately, and our server Nicole was so helpful, and patient, explaining the different types of burgers to her. First time to this location. Second visit to an Islands restaurant. 1st location was in Orange on Tustin Ave. Not impressed either time. I went with friends who are locals. They seen to enjoy Islands. Not sure why with all the selections of restaurants at your finger tips. Next time they suggest Islands I'm speaking up & requesting we go someplace else. I ordered a mojito & the Chicken Beach Bowl. Apparently the bartender hasn't been trained to make a mojito or doesn't like making them. Everything was poured in glass with whole mint leaves thrown on top. It did not taste like a mojito. I copied & pasted description = Grilled chicken, topped w/fresh grilled pineapple, red bell peppers, snow peas, water chestnuts, red onions, broccoli & diced scallions w/teriyaki or hoisin sauce, served over brown rice. I asked for hoisin sauce & no red bell pepper. Server said they no longer have hoisin sauce. I told her I'd take teriyaki sauce then. When my bowl arrived I had no teriyaki sauce the portion of chicken was less than 1/2 cup, Two small pieces of broccoli, no water chestnuts or scallions, 1 snow pea. There were a lot of red onion, 6 small slivers of red bell pepper & 5 small pieces of pineapple on top of 1 cup of rice. I assumed the bowl was served hot. It was all room temperature. The chicken & rice were not even warm. I ate everything in my bowl & was still hungry. This was not a filling meal. My friend & I arrived a little after her daughter & family had been seated. There were hostesses we said we were with the Thompson party. They said we don't have names just wander around & see if you can find them. My friend looked a bit then texted to see where they were seated. When we sat the server was delivering a beer & glass of wine. She didn't ask us if we wanted anything to drink. They were very busy & took a while for server to take our drink order. We had 4 adult, a 5 yr & 2 1/2 yr old kids. Their Mom ordered their meals when we ordered our drinks as it was a wait. We were sunrises when the kids meals arrived. One had Mac & cheese that was out of the Kraft box with a pod of apple sauce. They had a soup spoon in his basket to eat it with. Way to big for a child. The second kid meal was for the 2 1/2 yr old grilled cheese & fries. The bread was really thick not the average sandwich slice. So was hard for him to eat. Their mom had to ask several times for the boys apple juices & water before it arrived. Two wine glasses & beer mug were sitting at edge of table so we had room for our meals. We finally asked one of the servers passing by to clear them. On one came by to check to see how our food was or if we needed anything after meals came out. My friends had the beach bowl how also wanted hoisin sauce & with out water chestnuts. Fish tacos with onion rings & Big Wave Burger with truffle fries. When we left my friend asked how my beach bowl was. I told her I was surprised it wasn't served hot. It was room temp. She said they are suppose to be hot. Oh well read more

Came here for lunch today with a group of seven and a toddler. I have to say we were extremely impressed with our server. She was diligent in keeping our drinks filled and always checking back to see if we needed anything else. She did this while having many other tables to take care of. Tried this Islands again with co-workers. Didn't eat at the restaurant in person but rather ordered takeout. The food was delicious however I was charged for cheddar fries with bacon and our fries didn't have any. Also my co-worker ordered no tomato or onion on her Maui and lo and behold the burger had tomatoes. Such a disappointing visit. Came here on my birthday with my little family to celebrate. We sat at the table for close to 10 min just waiting to be greeted / drink order. By the time she came we were ready to order. Drinks & Food took a bit (in fact they both arrived about the same time). It took two reminders just to get my husbands beer. When our food arrived not only was some of it wrong but an item or two was missing. I wanted to return the food so bad but I have a 5 year old and a 1.5 year old. My youngest was at her limit of keeping herself busy and I know it would have taken another 20-30 min just to get the correct order. We got the bill that included the missing food. Nobody ever asked us how to kindly shut up and free up the table. We were asked if we needed anything to drink. We CONTINUED to gab and laugh. We watched all of the tables around us fill up and empty a few times. Still nobody bothered us. After 6 1/2 hours, we decided we'd better get going. We just moved to this area I came here with my 9 year old daughter on her school lunch break. We were told to find our own seats, and I asked for a paper menu instead of scanning a code. She never came back with a menu and ignored us and was just serving other people. Literally 25 mins later she returns asked me what I wanted to order. I again asked her for a paper menu. The table was soaking wet. I asked for napkins some can wipe it up. She never came back. She never even came back to give us napkins I has to ask someone else to brought out our food. Well a few minutes later I called back to replace the other parts of my order for my other family members. When I arrived to pick up my order Bo took excellent care of us. The manager Don came over too to tell me he made the sliders with turkey on the house. I was totally not expecting that and thought to myself how incredibly wonderful was that. I came here for a lunch with my sister and her boyfriend. Couldn't have made a better choice! We were a little scared due to the pandemic but I'm gonna say they are all up with keeping social distance and cleanest restaurant I've visited. After being in quarantine for over 2 months we really enjoyed dining here. Had a juicy hamburger, fries and couple of delicious drinks. My sister had some delicious nachos which were big.
