We were provided with excellent customer service by the host and also our server she was great Very clean sanitized restaurant they have changed up their menu which we were fine with. Yes prices have increased. I tried their chicken tenders they were very delicious and also we had an order of sliders were very good also to have a new truffle fries which is very good they don't have all you can eat fries any longer due to the pandemic. The second one waited for over 30 minutes (we were communicating), then Islands canceled the order and it was "closed". 2nd time, 1 week after first: ordered online. Went in person for takeout. Waited 50 minutes after food was scheduled to be ready. Repeatedly reminded host. Finally got completely cold food, half of the order wrong/missing: - no root beer float (a delivery service would reimburse this, but who wants to go back and fight with the restaurant over it? Lost money.) - Longboarder burger in Bluenami labeled box - Regular (not Bluenami) burger, no condiments, in Longboarder box) - no salad dressing Dine-in might be better? We had a delightful server, Sierra who was very good at her job as a server but had an even better personality! Made our regular burger lunch far more enjoyable. went here for the first and probably last time. the food looks good but here's the tea. note that you cant get medium rare, all burgers are at least cooked medium. the kilauea burger was insanely peppery, a little too much. i know that it's crusted with black pepper but dang, they were extremely liberal with the pep. the maui burger was okay, there was a lot of onion and the bacon was super crispy. the buffalo wings... i mean look at the picture. it seems as if they didn't even toss them. half of them lacked sauce and the other half were drenched in sauce. i honestly think i liked the carrots more. fries were crispy but had absolutely no salt whatsoever. i kid you not i had to season them soooo much. don't even get me started with the ranch. it was atrocious. it was so watery and but tasted okay. service was good until it wasn't. we never got water from our server and they came to check on us once we got our food, and when the check arrived. this is quite unacceptable as there weren't too many people. it was nice inside but i'm not sure if i'll see it again anytime soon. read more

Islands Restaurant in Fullerton is one of the two crown jewel restaurants in Amerige Heights Town Center alongside California Tofu Grill. Their burgers are fantastic. Also, the sides that come with the burger are so delicious, such as crispy fresh-cut islands fries, sweet potato fries, or truffle fries. I haven't been to Islands in years so out of the blue we decided to come here for happy hour. The HH is M-F 3-6:30 and on Pro Football Mon and Thursday 3-close. You can also catch HH all day on Sunday. This location is tucked in the Amerige Heights plaza and doesn't get too crowded on most days. We arrived around 8pm on a Thursday and got seated right away. The restaurant is very spacious and of course has a bar area. There are multiple TVs all around so you can still catch the game even if you're not in the bar section. Our server was attentive and friendly. The drinks menu has many options from tropical drinks, wine and beer. We all decided to order their famous burgers. All burgers are prepared medium unless otherwise requested. Our choices:: Starter: chips with salsa and guacamole. Good appetizer to have with your drinks. Drinks: Mai Tai and hand shaken strawberry margarita. Both tasty and had a nice amount of alcohol. ****Hula: sautéed mushrooms, tomato, mayo and Swiss. ****Longboarder: thousand island dressing, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion and American cheese. ****Malibu: applewood bacon, lettuce, onion, pickles, mustard and American cheese. All burgers come with 1/4 lb thick beef patty. You have a choice of white or wheat bun. The burgers can all be customized to your liking. Add or delete any toppings as you prefer. What a poor experience! Let me outline step by step what our experience was like this Friday evening! Came here to relax and dine with the family but felt like I was sitting there babysitting the waiter and trying to train him on his job (that he should know). 1. First, we sat down and he took our order for our drinks. My husband ordered a Modelo beer and I asked what they had on the tap? He said he will check on it meanwhile before that I ordered my kids drink, which were a pink lemonade and sprite 2. The waiter comes back to share with me what they had on tap beer. Then asks my husband what beer he wanted to order, which he already had ordered a Modelo. 3. The waiter comes back with our drinks and brings our beers along with two regular lemonades. I kindly tell waiter that it was a pink lemonade and sprite we ordered. Obviously didn't listen to any drinks we ordered 4. We order our food and ask for ranch and honey mustard for condiments. He asked if we wanted the nachos earlier as appetizer or if we wanted with our entrees...we asked that all food come out at same time 5. Waiter brings our food but with no condiments. So I have to kindly remind him he did not bring any condiments that we originally requested. Also, our food came but NO NACHOS 6. We ask waiter that we need napkins along with utensils. This should be a given in a restaurant. He does not bring. Again, we remind him again we need these items to eat 7. We ordered a side of onion rings (picture attached) and the portion is ridiculously small for $3.99. We ask waiter if this is a normal portion. He said yes it comes with 6 onion rings. Mind you, my son ate one before I took this picture. That totals to only 5 onion rings. He doesn't bother to resolve that issue either. Not a big deal but if we pay that much for a side I expect I should get what the agreed portion is (6 rings) 8. Still no nachos. At this point we are nearly done with our dinner (pictures attached). As you notice in picture, there are no nachos. I ask waiter where is our nachos, he said should be coming out right behind me. 10 minutes later still no nachos and again I have to remind him. Finally came when we were all done with our meal We go out to eat dinner at a restaurant to get a break from cooking and to enjoy time with our family. But to get an undertrained waiter who lacks a bit of sense and doesn't accommodate our situation at all is a disappointment to say the least. It's unfortunate because these are not only poor dining experiences but ones that affects our family outting and vibes of the evening! We were patient through and through all his mistakes and what not but every step of the way from beginning to end was not a very good experience and at the end our patience level was running out! read more

One of my top 3 happy hours in town. Islands is always a good time. The cheese fries with onions are amazing! I at least have to have them once a month. The cheeseburgers are mouthwatering and better than most other places that specialize in cheeseburgers. I adore the slaw that you can order with it on the side. The beers are the coldest in town. For about $5 or $6, you can order a nice stiff house martini, nicely shaken with olives. I love that the happy hour lasts until 6:30, unlike the standard 6pm at most places. It's Islands So my three year old daughter has this odd obsessions with Islands. Always asks to go to the restaurant. We were out and about and found this one after visiting the Barnes and Noble in the same shopping center. It's much smaller than the other Islands in the area, but it was dead on a Tuesday night, so it didn't matter. The staff was super friendly. The sever, although friendly, didn't quite get my order right. And my daughter, who always get the mac and cheese, wasn't really into her meal. I couldn't blame her - the Kraft mac and cheese was as bland as could be and didn't taste that fresh. Seriously guys, it's a kids meal out of the blue Kraft box. You can and should better. Her bad meal might have been a good thing, maybe it would make her want to change it up and try something other than Islands?? But no... she still wants to come back. So I guess we will. My husband and I love going to Islands for happy hour. We've been going to this location for 5 years and we always sit in the bar area. Usually Brett is our waiter/bartender and he is amazing. He is friendly and knows how to make my drinks. What more can you ask for? Happy hour is M-F 4PM-6:30 PM (they recently changed their HH times) and when it's football season it's Monday/Thursday 3PM-close and Sunday all day. Now I'm not a fan of football...but I am a HUGE fan of these HH times :) Usually we will share a couple times. We always get the buffalo wings and a burger to share. The burger that we usually get is the Kilauea burger. We substitute the burger for a turkey patty, either protein style or with a wheat bun, no island reds, add onion, and no aioli with fries well done. I come to this location occasionally. Food is always great and service good, but last night it was excellent! Mason was our server and went above and beyond! Plus, there were others that kept helping us out. It was my daughter's birthday and we brought a cheesecake. Not only did they put it in the fridge for us, but Mason even wrote "happy birthday" on it for us (he asked first and it was well appreciated). Very disappointed at this location. This place was my wife and my first restaurant we dined for our first date four years ago during pandemic and it has special memories for us. Today, we went in at 1:03pm and we're seated immediately by the host; however, our server greeted us very briefly saying that he will come back to drop off the water and take our orders. Around 1:20pm, I asked one of the food runners to ask where our server was and she had informed the server to check on our table and he still hadn't shown up. At 1:22pm my wife and I decided to leave... it's such a shame because we love island burgers and we were looking forward to our mini luncheon date, but waiting for 18 minutes and not even getting water is beyond disappointing.. I was there Saturday night for dinner. Had the great yummy Maui burger - always good. I sat in the lounge at the bar and had great service from Blare. Seating at the bar is always available. Bar stools are mostly comfortable. That's the Positive , here is the not-so-positive: To my surprise Islands is no longer including fries with their burgers , and it was now an add-on price to get their great fries. Really? I did not realize this until after the check came. The waiter did not tell me about it. As I was leaving I asked to see the manager and discuss this. I met Mike and had a pleasant conversation with him. He said that he had other negative feedback about this fries issue and they were planning on going back to including fries with the burger! Good job Mike. Hey Mike, 3 words - add bacon to the Maui. Ok, that was five words! The crew is great and friendly, and the food is great. I'll keep Islands as a staple in my burger diet! read more

Islands has always been one of my lowkey favorite places to eat a burger. Since the first time I had a Mavericks burger I was hooked. The menu is not big at all, but I am sure there is something there for everyone. What I Eat: Mavericks Burger - white bun (wheat bun available), burger patty, bacon, bbq sauce, Islands Reds (onion straws), lettuce, tomatoes and mayo. Fries. The fries are bottomless, though it is not advertised. This particular location has never been so busy that we had to wait more than 15 minutes to get a table. Service is usually pretty quick and courteous. Food does take a little while to come out though, so just a heads up. read more

We dined here with our family recently and everyone in our party seemed to be quite pleased with the overall experience from the hostess and waiter to the clean seating area, cute Hawaiian decor and our tasty meals. I ordered their Ka'anapali Kobb Salad, which was a generous serving with lettuce, grilled chicken breast, applewood smoked bacon, avocado, blue cheese, boiled egg, and tomatoes, tossed with their Kobb dressing.
