Located in the same building as CPK and Olive Garden, Islands is a well-known restaurant with American style food. I would say that this place is good if you're looking for a restaurant style burger. They also have a pretty decent $10 lunch special. The service is pretty fast for a chain restaurant. The ambiance is pretty cute and it feels like you're in Hawaii. The parking lot is easy to get to and it's 90 minutes free

We were shopping in the area and decided to stop by here. My kids and husband all ordered burgers and shakes. I had a type of burrito bowl. The service was pretty consistent. My bowl was okay I thought a little pricey but okay. My kids loved the shakes and smoothies. I think you're better off getting a burger. The portions were okay and fries were good. We overall had a good experience.

Came here for lunch and got their double cheeseburger for $10. It was pretty good. I would come here if I was craving a burger. Their fries were really good and crispy too. They're located in the same plaza as CPK and BJs. The service is good as well and their ambiance is nice.

I can always count on islands! A little cheeseburger, a little app, a little mai tai.... Been going to islands for 20+ years. I started coming to the Glendale islands when the paceo Pasadena location very sadly closed (please reopen!!!) Erin E is amazing. I hadn't been in for a while and she still remembered me AND my order. 10/10 every time. Thanks, Erin!!! See you next time :)

    Kilauea, Beach Bowl

Upon arriving, we were seated promptly at a cozy two top. Our server Seth was there in no time and greeted us with a warm and inviting aura. He helped navigate us through the menu with tender care, I'm a vegetarian, and he thoroughly explained all the options available for my dietary restrictions. Seth also recommended the Mango IPA for a drink, and it was exactly what we were looking for: a beer bursting with fruity flavor. I settled on the Kilauea Burger with a veggie patty, and my girlfriend got the Beach Bowl. The Kilauea Burger was exceptional, the crispy grilled onions paired with the chipotle aioli was truly divine, and the jalapeños added a spicy kick that was just right. My girlfriend also enjoyed her Beach Bowl, she was particularly fond of the crisp crunch of water chestnuts. All in all our experience at Islands was great. The food was amazing and our server Seth won us over with his charm and wit. We will definitely be back!

I forgot to picture my other meals. Great customer service. Greeted upon entry and well serviced throughout. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean everywhere. Food was ok. Fries felt a little cool and too much salt. Burger had good flavor. We got chicken tenders and I would definitely recommend that for anyone.

I came with a group of 8 and although we were seated quickly, the rest of the service took a really long time. After eating, we waited about half an hour the check despite making it clear we were in a hurry-- and there was only one other table at the time. I got the Kilauea burger and it was good: I liked the faint jalapeno kick. However, a little overpriced in my opinion (that being said, I'm not very discerning for burgers). The interior did have cool island-themed decor and felt very cozy. The other members of my party enjoyed this restaurant more than I did-- it didn't align with my personal food preferences, and the wait times just left me with an overall negative impression of the whole experience.

With the seemingly ever-changing landscape along Brand Blvd. in downtown Glendale, this establishment has been around since 2012 (which I believe was the first and only time I came here). Primarily known for its inventive craft cocktails and a killer whiskey selection, it was a nice place to sneak away into before or after your main event... or, maybe this could be the place to spend an entire evening. After a few minutes of reviewing the menu, we each placed our order at the bar, our drinks were delivered quickly while the food took mere minutes to arrive at the table. We had to approach the bar each time we ordered something, but any empty glasses and plates were collected at the table. Once we closed out our tabs, we were thanked for coming as we headed out into the night. Everything was chill and easy - thank you! PARKING (Varied; FREE this instance): I parked in the nearby original Glendale Galleria parking structure and simply walked over first to The Americana then to this place. Otherwise, there was limited parking along the main drag of Brand Blvd. and other surrounding side streets, the nearby Glendale Galleria II parking structure, The Americana parking structure that offered validation, numerous public transportation options, and rideshares - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A dark cavernous speakeasy-like place with open space, various tables and couches strewn about, and a large long somewhat decorative bar with an impressive whiskey selection displayed behind it. I appreciated the exposed brick walls which gave it that old-time feel with a few framed pictures hung on them. Minimal natural lighting came through the front doors and windows while minimal electric ceiling lights filled in rest. There was at least one projection TV where we watched the Dodgers game while music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=SomLKsk1KVcemeOCHGOZfg ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL It was nice to slip into The Famous Bar for the first time in over a decade, and if I found myself spending time in downtown Glendale again, I'd consider another visit. Sadly, I try to avoid the highly congested area as much as possible. I loved the fact that they had a daily happy hour (4pm-7pm) and late-night SU-TH happy hours (10:30pm-close), so there was always a deal to be found. The drinks were the main reason you came, while the food was just an add-on. The prices were elevated, but you had a good menu selection of libations (nice local craft beer list) to choose from. The customer service was easy, friendly, and straightforward. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $42.00 BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... I like some heat, but it feels like it was masking the flavor. I've tried their app to get deals, but their deals aren't really that good in terms of value. Oh, and last time they messed up my to go order. Overall, not the worst food and experience, but not the best either. Two and a half stars.

The rest of my order was delicious and not hard and didn't break one of my teeth. I called to tell that store what had occurred and they hung up on me. I am in pain and I have to make a dental appointment to get my tooth fixed when my swelling goes down and the pain subsides. looks like more than a week-old chicken piece. I am asking for refund back onto my visa card asap. I will be going to my dentist for tooth repairs. I send them support team my receipt picture of their box and my receipt. I cannot eat anything solid now and my face is swollen too. THAT CHICKEN LOOKED ODER THAN I AM AFTER MY TEETH BORKE AND I LOOKED AT THE DRIED OUT HARD CHICKEN COVERED UP IN BBQ SAUCE SO YOU COUNLD NOT TELL THAT HARD CRUSTY CHICKEN WAS OLD AND DILAPIDATED. BEWARE!

Why such a long hiatus? The tap list over the last months just hasn't had anything I've wanted to drink. It's been a lot of repeats of things I've had over and over or beers that just aren't appealing -- or, in many cases, both. The Glendale Tap used to have a fairly good turnover of new brews, but lately, it seems to be in a rut. Imports are pretty much never to be seen -- like everywhere else, sadly. Even out-of-state beers are rare. And on my most recent visit, at least half of the tap list was tapped out. IPAs and sours take up so much of the list -- stouts in the cooler months -- while styles like bitters, milds, (non-India) pale ales, brown ales, bocks, amber lagers, smoked beers, etc., get little to no space on the tap list. I still love the atmosphere of the Glendale Tap, and the bartenders there are the best. Prices are fair, and there's always something at least decent to drink. But I miss those fulsome tap lists with a variety of beer styles from far and wide. More and more, the Glendale Tap is becoming too much like every other beer bar. I know L.A. beer drinkers are extremely parochial with very limited tastes (basically IPA, IPA, IPA, and IPA, with some super sours thrown in), but I would hope the Glendale Tap could return to just a smidgen of its former excellence. Until then, I probably will be visiting biannually instead of bimonthly.
