I love to give credit where it's due BUT I FEEL LIKE I SHOULD HAVE BEEN CREDITED A MEAL FOR TWO .. One of the worst services received as paying customers. The line on this Friday was out the door so we asked about sitting at the bar area. There were 4 empty tables and only one was clean. An employee kept bragging to customers who have been sitting and ate on their second drink how she just got back from Thailand as she grabbed items from my table without even acknowledging me and my guest. I then had to go get my own menu. As I sat a diff server came to being a new party there menus and joked with them and said she'll be right back (having to walk past us to the bar and would have to pass us again to get back to them) again after not being acknowledged and not noticing that our table was empty .. she tried to walk past and I had to let her know hi we arrived first. We ordered and we were brought the wrong size pizza - this was pretty much a let down. We also asked for light cheese and that was not payed attention too ... After passing us and seeing someone brought us our food she pointed , nodded and called away all in the same motion - never coming back or asking if we need anything or seeing that we didn't have cutlery. THIS WAS MAJORLY DISAPPOINTING ON TOPNOF EVERYTHING.. Regular ambiance of sports , bros , family a large party or two .. Don't think I'll be returning here. We got there at 10:55 am and it was closed. I was crushed. Then I said to my 90 year old mom, maybe they open at 11and i made her walk all the way back to the front door and sure enough it opens at 11 am! I told the manager they really need to post the days and hours in large white letters on the front door. I only saw where it said the hours in tiny letters that mom and I did not see. at all. This BJ's Restaurant location is a short walk from The Americana at Brand. I had coupons for a free pazookie [for this location only] that I wanted to use. Upon entering, the first thing I noticed was how spacious and clean the establishment was. I'd like to have a work party here in the future. Anyway... Staff was extremely nice. Manny was our server and he was great; very friendly. My coupon terms and conditions stated only one coupon per party, but he was able to ask his manager to override that condition and use all three at once. I order jambalaya. I couldn't finish it; it was a big portion. The jambalaya definitely reminds me of my time in NOLA with the Cajun spice heat in every bite consumed. The heat was tolerable, though. read more

Even though Olive Garden is next door, I'm gonna steal their slogan, "when you're here you're family," because that is how it is when I come here and I'm fortunate to get a seat at Tanya's table. She is so popular amongst patrons that depending on time, sometimes getting a seat at her table can be difficult. For many years we have been coming here and she makes every visit wonderful. The food is excellent, location and parking are easy. This is an overall wonderful place to come and share a meal. My absolute fave is the $13 meal deal Enlightened Quinoa Bowl, which is not on the regular menu. It's a fresh and light way to save room for a delicious mouth watering pizookie. The strawberry fields chicken salad is also good as well as the smash burger. Definitely come and stop by and request a seat at Tanya's table! read more

Trying to coordinate a late lunch/early dinner in Glendale, California and BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse was mentioned. I thought that would be a great place to go and it was! We arrived there a little after 6pm and the hostess greeted us in a cool sports jersey! There were several sports games happening on the tv screens at the bar. I asked if I could get seated at one of the booths in the bar area. And there were two available. Our booth was clean, comfortable and cushiony. Our waiter Joe was friendly and let us know that happy hour is still happening until 7pm. Which was amazing. We ordered the shrimp & parmesan toast as an appetizer and house margaritas. We had the option of salt, tajin or nothing on the rim of our margaritas. I had to have the tajin! Our main courses (salad with chicken and a spicy chicken sandwich with fries and cole slaw) were delicious as well. The experience was so good that I downloaded the App! Not bad, but the deep dish came as a flat bread. So just be sure to expect that. The mozzarella tomato salad was drenched in dressing, otherwise it would have been pretty good. Pizookies always the best thing of the place though. Chocolate chunk and the triple chocolate are great. The place was pretty slow. We got in around 7:30 with about a 20 minute wait and dinner took 2 hours as the food was slow to come out. The servers were friendly though! The place overall was TOO loud for a Tuesday. The person bringing the food to the curbside was very professional, courteous and caring. Now about the food: the pictures don't represent the actual size received. The pizza, photo attached was $24.99, which was smaller than a personal size. French fries portion was less than what you would get when you dine in. I feel like I've been a victim of shrinkflation. I made reservations for a party of seven to dine here for Father's Day. When we arrived, the restaurant was fairly empty, so we were seated right away. However, there were menus already on the table, and no staff greeted us after we sat down. After waiting for about 20 minutes without being acknowledged, I flagged down a nearby server and informed them that no one had come by to take our orders. Our assigned server arrived shortly afterward, apologized, and explained that he believed another server had been assigned to our table. A kind manager also came over to apologize for the confusion. I ordered the prime rib special, which is available all day on Sundays. It's a generous portion and includes two sides, as well as a choice of soup or salad. I would have preferred to receive the salad first, as it was a bit awkward to eat everything at once, but I'll be sure to request that next time. The prime rib special also includes a Pizookie, which I shared with my kids. You can choose from a variety of flavors, which was a nice bonus. read more

BJ's Restaurant Experience - Not Exactly a Special Occasion Spot or what I thought it was going to be. I guess BJ's isn't the place to go for a Caesar side salad or apparently their prime rib special either. My wife, kids, and I decided to head there after a kids' concert at the mall around midday. I mean, what could go wrong? Apparently, quite a bit. The Service: We were seated quickly since the restaurant wasn't busy at the time. Menus were handed out, and we started looking over our options for lunch. Then... nothing. No server came by for about 20 minutes. Eventually, we flagged someone down to ask what was going on. The server assigned to our table showed up and explained that he thought someone else had already helped us a bit strange, considering the menus were just sitting there untouched. To make up for the delay, they offered us a complimentary appetizer or dessert, which was appreciated. We chose the avocado egg rolls. We also requested to split the bill my wife and I with our kids on one check, and my brother with his wife and child on the other. Somehow, the server managed to mix up the orders, placing their items on our check and vice versa. Fixing the mistake turned into a bit of a hassle. For context, this all happened around noon on a Sunday so not exactly peak dining hours. Yet the service still missed the mark. The Food: I ordered a Caesar salad with a side of chicken. Visually, it reminded me of something you'd get at Chuck E. Cheese. The lettuce was yellowing and looked pretty sad. It was edible because I was hungry, but definitely not appetizing or fresh just basic, low-quality ingredients. My wife ordered the prime rib special, which came with two sides, a side salad, and a Pizookie. For the sides, she chose mashed potatoes and broccoli. The mashed potatoes lacked butter and flavor, and the broccoli was dry and overcooked. The prime rib itself was disappointing it was about 60% fat. While I know prime rib is a fattier cut, this was excessive. It felt like a bait-and-switch tactic: offer a "special" using the cheapest cuts to attract customers, but deliver something inedible. The steak looked big, but most of it was just fat. The only thing "special" about it was how much of it wasn't meat. Honestly, the food quality was more on par with a Sizzler, but at Cheesecake Factory prices. Not exactly the vibe we were hoping for on Father's Day. The Ambience: Typical BJ's décor nothing remarkable. The restaurant had plenty of empty tables due to the time of day, yet they still couldn't manage decent service despite the light crowd. In Conclusion: Unless my kids are specifically begging for a Pizookie, I don't see myself going out of my way to return to BJ's. The service was underwhelming, the food lacked quality, and the overall experience just didn't justify the price. I'll be choosing a restaurant with better service and fresher ingredients next time. read more
