Before heading to the ten year anniversary of Train to Busan my friend and I stopped by BJ's for dinner. I have been wanting to try the sweet and spicy Korean chicken sandwich. But before I delve into what I ate I want to take a second to thank Briannah H. She seemed to appear out of nowhere with quick refills. She was attentive and very welcoming. Thank you for the great service! My dinner. I kept it simple, a sandwich and fries. My friend had a personal pizza so there was a chili flake and a Parmesan cheese shaker on the table. I dressed my fries with chili flakes and cheese. For my sandwich, it was delicious. The sauce had a little bit of heat, although I wish it was spicier. However, a slight warning is a little messy. Let's be honest, you're not coming to BJ's for a gourmet meal. You're coming to watch a game, eat some good bar food (hopefully at a good happy hour rate), and, in our case, for the most magical, wonderful human being who happens to be a waitress here, Achara. As a matter of fact, my kids never ask to go to BJ's, they say they want to see Ms. Achara. She's the friendliest, most attentive, and most mindful person we've encountered, especially in a restaurant setting. The kids' pre-meal snacks are on the table within seconds of us sitting down, along with mine and my husband's favorite drinks. She's efficient with our orders and makes sure we get our food while it's piping hot, and she frequently stops by to confirm we don't need anything else. Her patience with our kids is extraordinary, and her ability to always make them smile is even more so. BJ's is lucky to have her, and so are we. As for the food, it's good -- it's what you'd expect from a chain. The service definitely makes it worthwhile, as does the sports they televise. Notable mention: the manager, Noel, is on point. The only reasonably priced item = sweet potato fries. Everything else tastes like it comes from a bag. The jambalaya was dry. The grilled chicken alfredo was bland and the broccoli wasn't cooked. It was hard and cold. There was one part of the dish that was salted, so that was a surprise to enjoy that bite. The spinach and artichoke dip was good (microwaved, too?) however the chips tasted old and oily. That leads me to believe maybe the chips are actually made in-house? Then set aside on a heat lamp until they become harder to enjoy. I don't think I'll come to this location again, and the issues are likely chain-wide. It was nice watching the World Cup game between Australia and Egypt. The food was good. I loved my strawberry and chicken salad. My husband usually orders the chicken parmesan. Service was quick. The only downside which I wrote about in another review that the restaurant sent me was the slight sewage smell while sitting at the bar. I love to give credit where it's due BUT I FEEL LIKE I SHOULD HAVE BEEN CREDITED A MEAL FOR TWO .. One of the worst services received as paying customers. The line on this Friday was out the door so we asked about sitting at the bar area. There were 4 empty tables and only one was clean. An employee kept bragging to customers who have been sitting and ate on their second drink how she just got back from Thailand as she grabbed items from my table without even acknowledging me and my guest. I then had to go get my own menu. As I sat a diff server came to being a new party there menus and joked with them and said she'll be right back (having to walk past us to the bar and would have to pass us again to get back to them) again after not being acknowledged and not noticing that our table was empty .. she tried to walk past and I had to let her know hi we arrived first. We ordered and we were brought the wrong size pizza - this was pretty much a let down. We also asked for light cheese and that was not payed attention too ... After passing us and seeing someone brought us our food she pointed , nodded and called away all in the same motion - never coming back or asking if we need anything or seeing that we didn't have cutlery. THIS WAS MAJORLY DISAPPOINTING ON TOPNOF EVERYTHING.. Regular ambiance of sports , bros , family a large party or two .. Don't think I'll be returning here. We came here after a car show since it was the closest restaurant around that had (BONUS) online check ins available. Upon checking in online and getting our seats took about 15 minutes which was great for it being busy. Service by the waitress was great but food is just OK. Food looks nothing like the photos they have on their menu but if you want average quick food, it works. A bonus for me is always a kids menu and the special treats the kids get before their meal to keep them busy. We also got the trip pizooki which was the highlight of the meal. This BJ's Restaurant location is a short walk from The Americana at Brand. I had coupons for a free pazookie [for this location only] that I wanted to use. Upon entering, the first thing I noticed was how spacious and clean the establishment was. I'd like to have a work party here in the future. Anyway... Staff was extremely nice. Manny was our server and he was great; very friendly. My coupon terms and conditions stated only one coupon per party, but he was able to ask his manager to override that condition and use all three at once. I order jambalaya. I couldn't finish it; it was a big portion. The jambalaya definitely reminds me of my time in NOLA with the Cajun spice heat in every bite consumed. The heat was tolerable, though. read more

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday lunch, and what should have been a special day turned into an absolute disaster. From the moment we sat down, the service was terrible. We waited at least 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. When our server finally came over, she took my boyfriend's beer order and walked away without even asking if I wanted something to drink. When I pointed it out, I was met with attitude instead of an apology. The restaurant was not packed. There was a large party outside and several occupied tables inside, but nothing that should justify the level of neglect we experienced. We watched multiple tables that were seated after us receive their food and begin eating while we continued to sit there waiting. After 45 minutes, I finally asked where our food was and was told they had to take care of the large party first. Apparently, everyone else in the restaurant mattered more than we did. After waiting nearly an hour, my food arrived cold. Not lukewarm--cold. The ribs were barely warm on the outside and refrigerator-cold in the middle. My boyfriend tasted them and agreed. It honestly felt like someone rushed the order, pulled it from a cooler, and sent it out to our table hoping we wouldn't notice. What happened next was even worse. The manager was called over, and I have rarely encountered someone who seemed less interested in resolving a customer complaint. She casually offered to remove my meal from the bill and immediately started walking away as if the issue had been solved. No genuine apology. No concern. No effort to replace the meal. No attempt to salvage what was supposed to be a birthday celebration. When I explained that I wasn't looking for a quick brush-off, her response was essentially, "Well, it sounds like you don't want to come back." Seriously? That's your solution to a customer who just waited 45 minutes for cold food on a birthday lunch? I spent over 40 years in management, and I was stunned by the complete lack of professionalism. A competent manager would have apologized sincerely, replaced the meal immediately, checked on the table personally, and done everything possible to turn the experience around. Instead, I was treated as though I was an inconvenience for expecting hot food and decent service. Then came the final insult. The manager offered a courtesy card. As we were leaving, I asked what the balance was and was told it had $0 on it. A second employee checked and also said $0. At that point, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I asked to speak with the manager again, but she wouldn't even come out. Instead, she sent other employees to issue another card with $30 loaded on it. This time they provided proof of the balance. The entire experience was a mess from beginning to end. Poor service. Excessive wait times. Cold food. An indifferent manager. Zero accountability. Birthdays are supposed to be enjoyable. Instead, this turned into the meal from hell. We have been customers here before and have never experienced anything close to this level of incompetence. The $30 card will likely be given away because after this experience, I have absolutely no desire to return. If management treats loyal customers this way, I can only imagine how little they care about everyone else. read more

Then I said to my 90 year old mom, maybe they open at 11and i made her walk all the way back to the front door and sure enough it opens at 11 am! I told the manager they really need to post the days and hours in large white letters on the front door. I only saw where it said the hours in tiny letters that mom and I did not see. at all. We went back here to get a bite and watch soccer game like everyone else. The service was great Julio took care of us this time and he did a great job he really made my day. I like the fact that he remember my order and drinks in his head. That is really customer service right there! But what I don't understand is why is the hostess sitting everyone at once when kitchen is so behind. I mean server had it under control the whole time but kitchen and hostess is another story. I mean the food took over 40-50 min to get it out which is unusual and then you see the hostess sitting everyone at once and no communication to the server that they sat new people and other people need to wave down the server. On top off that new server doesn't know table numbers because when some other server running the food it got to wrong table. This place is so unorganized and has horrible service. The people in the front are so rude and unhelpful. The wait time they gave me was 30 mins but they were seating multiple people who got here after us. When i asked if i could sit outside she simply said "no" yet there was people sitting outside and didnt care to explain that they werent serving at the time they just said no, it made us think we werent able to sit and enjoy the game while waiting. There was so many tables open and we werent being seated. The restaurant isnt even that busy to the point to were it takes an hour plus to seat us. I loved the service the last time i was here only because of the server we had but besides that this place is unorganized and a waste of time. Trying to coordinate a late lunch/early dinner in Glendale, California and BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse was mentioned. I thought that would be a great place to go and it was! We arrived there a little after 6pm and the hostess greeted us in a cool sports jersey! There were several sports games happening on the tv screens at the bar. I asked if I could get seated at one of the booths in the bar area. And there were two available. Our booth was clean, comfortable and cushiony. Our waiter Joe was friendly and let us know that happy hour is still happening until 7pm. Which was amazing. We ordered the shrimp & parmesan toast as an appetizer and house margaritas. We had the option of salt, tajin or nothing on the rim of our margaritas. I had to have the tajin! Our main courses (salad with chicken and a spicy chicken sandwich with fries and cole slaw) were delicious as well. The experience was so good that I downloaded the App! Not bad, but the deep dish came as a flat bread. So just be sure to expect that. The mozzarella tomato salad was drenched in dressing, otherwise it would have been pretty good. Pizookies always the best thing of the place though. Chocolate chunk and the triple chocolate are great. The place was pretty slow. We got in around 7:30 with about a 20 minute wait and dinner took 2 hours as the food was slow to come out. The servers were friendly though! The place overall was TOO loud for a Tuesday.
