Ok, Isle Pedi Spa is my go to because I've been spoiled by coming. Yes, a lot of places give you wine or a mimosa. But Isle gives you that, plus your own private booth/section, a TV, a pillow, a phone charger, and some extremely nice people. For instance, when I first moved to Houston, I went on a friend's recommendation around September 2015. Very nice lady took care of me and we talked quite a bit. Recently this March, went for my birthday. Haven't seen her since. She remembered everything about me and made my birthday very special. I had the private room (which doesn't cost anything additional) with my friend and it was a great way to kick of the day. The only reason why I give a four stars is because of the cost. It's quite expensive. On any given day, I can easily spend $125-160 there on a mani and pedi, inclusive of a tip. Therefore, for that reason, its not going to be my strict go to. For the price, if I plan accordingly, rather go to one of Houston's best full spas. read more

Isle PediSpa consistently delivers the best nail spa experience that I've had in Houston--so much so that I've been going to this location since it opened, even though I've lived in the Woodlands area for the past two years. The front desk staff are always warm and friendly, and the place is beautifully decorated. The majority of the technicians that I've worked with have not only been talented but also very personable. In some of the cheaper nail salons, I have often felt like my business is an annoyance or had technicians talk over me as though I wasn't there. But here I always feel like a valued customer and like I have the full attention of my service provider. Mya in particular truly stands out for her excellent customer service--I have many times been surprised at how well she understands my aesthetic with her color suggestions. And Laura also deserves my gratitude for her patience in getting the dead skin from around my toenails (gross, I know, but much appreciated with all athletic training my feet go through). Yes, it is expensive, but the selection of colors and the customer service more than make it worth it. I am not a high maintenance woman, but I always make sure there is room in my budget for Isle PediSpa's gel manicures and pedicures. They have spoiled me too much to go anywhere else. I've been going to this location for about 5 years now and CANT go anywhere else. They are professionals who care about the health and longevity of your nails. My gel mani's last for 3-4 weeks! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Here are the facts....I recently had my first experience at Isle. At the time of service, everything seemed good. I spent well over $100 there for a pedicure, shellac manicure, eyebrow wax, and tip, which of course is much higher than most nail services. Within the week, my shellac began to crack and lift off of my nail (I wasn't being hard on my nails, they just didn't hold up well), however I was out of town and couldn't do anything about it. Once I was back in town and had the opportunity to call to inquire about getting a re-do of my shellac (I've had plenty of shellacs last well over 2 weeks), that is when my EXTREME DISAPPOINTMENT in the customer service began. I called for two days straight and asked the receptionists to speak to the manager, Brittany. All of the receptionist took down my contact info and gave me the runaround about how they would get her to call me back, as they were aware of my issue with the shellac manicure. I never heard back from Brittany and I continued to follow-up until I finally reached her at the salon. She had been too busy to previously follow-up with my issue...the first bad sign. She told me that it was "company policy" that they couldn't do anything about my shellac, since it had been a couple of days over a week. I told her that I'd been out of town and unavailable to contact them by day 7 (not to mention, I had no idea how strict their policies were on their one week policy). She replied that "you could have taken a picture of your nails and texted it to us, so we could have seen the problem." ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Not only would cracks/lifting polish in a light colored shellac manicure be difficult to see in a photo of my nail, but YOU SHOULD NEVER ASK A CUSTOMER TO BEND OVER BACKWARD in a situation where they are not satisfied with the service. Remember, it's the customers that keep your company is business. Brittany knew my situation and could only tell me that she was sorry that I was unsatisfied with the shellac, but their policy was that they could do nothing. I then asked her to speak to the owner about this situation, to make an exception in my situation, as I was a fist time customer who was unhappy with the $48 shellac manicure that I received. It's the principal of the matter after all. She told me that she would get in touch with the owner and let me know what she said. Brittany followed up with me a day later to let me know that the owner was out of town for a couple of days and that she would be back in touch. Needless to say, I never heard back from Brittany and I would highly doubt that she ever spoke to the owner. That is the definition of TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE...avoiding the problem and certainly not resolving it. Of course this situation left a bitter taste in my mouth as a fist time customer, with an unresolved issue. Given normal wear and tear on your nails, shellacs should last longer than a week. You would think that given the effort I made to contact Brittany, she would believe the fact that I was being honest about my problem and not asked me to send her a photo of my nails. Unfortunately, the management of this company has a lot to learn about operating a "services" business, especially in upscale parts of Houston where the customers have high expectations and there is plenty of competition. If Brittany had just resolved my issue by either allowing me a re-do of my shellac manicure, or refunded me for the service (the expense wouldn't have been a drop in the bucket for them) I wouldn't have had a negative thing to say about the place, unfortunately for Isle, that isn't the case today. I plan to go back to my other nail spa, where the services are about half the price, the polish stays on your nails twice as long, and the customer service is excellent. read more

I went in for a pedicure Thursday evening. I thought I would give a new place a try. I walked in and asked the receptionist the price for a pedicure. She told me $27, which I found high, but I was already there, so I said sure. She told me that they did not have time for me, which I was okay with, even though there were only 2 other customers in the whole place. She then said, no wait, we can get you in a few minutes, just have a seat and wait. Okay, no problem. I waited for about 15 minutes during which I saw at least three nail technicians walking around without clients. Finally, they told me to have a seat. At first, it was going great! She was going to get me a neck pillow and water. I was starting to relax after a hard day. Then, suddenly, she asks if I want a manicure. I said no, just a pedicure, thank you. She looks worried and disappears for another 10 minutes. She then comes back and tells me that she doesn't have time to give me a pedicure, only a manicure. I told her that wasn't what I wanted and that I wouldn't have waited for over 20 minutes if they weren't even going to do my service! I told the receptionist, as well. No one looked at me or said anything. I left with my time totally wasted and no pedicure. I WILL NEVER GO BACK. THESE PEOPLE ARE RUDE, EXPENSIVE, and have no problem WASTING YOUR TIME. For $60, I'd expect my Shellac manicure to last at least two weeks. It chipped in 5 days! Unheard of....While the technicians are friendly and the place is clean and pretty, chipped EXPENSIVE Shellac is enough to make me never want to come here again...There was nothing special about the manicure to make it worth $60 in my opinion, and they don't even include shoulder massages, not even as an extra add-on, which is unfortunate because their pretty pedicure chairs create knots in your back for you while you're reaching across the table getting your nails done. read more

I'm searching for a new pedicure home and decided to try Isle based on all the positive reviews. Well-- it isn't all that. My technician was very inexperienced but pleasant. The West Ave location is over-the top and tries to distract you from the poor service. The website advertises neck wraps, individual TVs and CDs. There was no neck wrap on anyone. My TV wouldn't work and the technicial didn't know how to make it work and there was no CD in sight. And... this place hasn't been open that long-- maybe 4 months. What will happen in 2 years? They have specialized area for drying. OK-- good idea but very poor execution. The opening for the cabinet where you had to put your feet for drying was too small. In fact, I was warned by my technician to be careful and not touch the opening. Clearly I'm not the first or only person to have smudged their polish by trying to dry their feet. There are no chairs but there is a stand with built in basin and bench for you to sit. It is completely unadjustable. One size doesn't fit all. In trying to reach the basin and technician, I killed my back and my hip cramped up. These are built for people 5'7+ would be my best estimation. I was also concerned about the cleanliness of the drain on the basins, Frankly, it looks like a stainless steel kitchen sink to me complete with the strainer. The pedicure wasn't cheap which is fine as long as its good. At Isle, I walked out needing pain medication with 2 smudged toes and ended up buying polish to fix the smudge myself. The standard by which all pedicures will be measured against, and found lacking. Everything is sterilized, they always use a new file (and give it to you at the end), they have endless polish options (plus gel, glitter gel, shellac, etc.), the private rooms are wonderful and make it possible to get a pedicure even with a newborn with you, there is no acrylic smell, and the neck wraps/private TVs are wonderful. It is expensive, but it's so worth it. And the packaging for gift certificates is really cute, so it's a great place to pick up a gift while you're there being pampered. read more

I recently moved from Dallas to Houston, and this was my first pedi in the area. I really do wish I could give them a positive review since everyone was really nice. I get mani/pedi once per week. Primarily, I like to have nice looking nails, but I also use this as a form of relaxation. It comes down to cost/benefit. This was 53% higher than the salon in Dallas. Yes, it is in a prime location, so of course there is a price differential. That being said, I would also expect a certain level of comfort. First, you can't really see the nail polish that you want to use, and they give you a color wheel. We all know the color wheels are rarely accurate, and the best way to choose a color is to see it. Second, the seats are straight up and down and not the massage types. There is no way to relax seated in that position. Very uncomfortable. I went in at 8 pm (appointment) and they close at 9 pm. It felt very rushed... Again, for $100, I don't want to feel rushed. Unfortunately, I'll have to go find another salon... read more

I work in the area where Isle is located and have been wanting to try it for some time now. Well, my first impression wasn't all that great. Brittany at the front desk wasn't very welcoming and actually seemed to be having an off day. She asked me for my last name twice as if I didn't know what she was talking about. Then she rudely brushed me off and told me to sit in "one of those chairs" which by the way isn't actually a waiting room. The decor is very beautiful here, especially the private rooms. The lady that did my nails were great so I give her 5 stars! I asked her not to clip my cuticles due to previous experiences I had with another nail tech at a different nail salon. The only concern I had was with the customer service at the front desk. The girls seem young and not trained very well in customer service. They didn't seem very friendly and didn't have smiles on their faces. Their prices were pretty expensive, given that they use the same gels as any other nail salon. I payed $50 for a regular shellac mani and an extra $10 to remove my previous shellac. read more

We booked this place as a group for girls day at the spa. A very special day because my daughter's first time acting as the planner. The place was clean and nice but the service wasn't good at all. They literally do not care about their clients! The receptionist was a snob! The workers did not seem friendly all all! No stars for me. These people were rude and made me and my family of girls feel like we didn't belong there! And to make things worst we planned for 10'girls to get a pedicure. Only 6 showed up and they charged our party $43 for each person that didn't show up! It was listed on the contract after pointed it out to us when it was time to pay! These are things a good business would have pointed out to us before we reached the time to pay. The pedicure wasn't good as we expected! In fact we could have gotten better in the hood! Definitely on the pricier end, but worth it if you're looking for a great place to get pampered with a friend or even a small group. The private rooms here are really the nice feature. The last two times that Cathy has done my pedicures, my polish has lasted perfectly until it was removed (a solid three weeks with no chipping). Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the manicures. They do offer a 3-day no-chip guarantee, which I took advantage of. Sadly, my re-done nails chipped again within two days. I really only recommend this place for splurging with a girlfriend or two in a private room, otherwise you're better off at your regular nail place where you get more bang for your buck!
