NEVER COME HERE EVER! Please save your time, money and sanity. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!!!! I bought glasses for my daughter, which she wore a year. They were poorly made, part of the nose-pad broke. We brought it back, just to ask if they could fix it. Ends up that they are under warranty, and they said they could fix it in two weeks and that they would give us a call. NO CALL... We were in Koreatown two weeks later, and we decided to check if they were ready. They said that it would need another week. We were there again, so we decided to check. Still not there!! Two weeks later (five weeks since we first visited), we got a call (finally!!). After all that, they made a mistake, James Lee looked for them for a few minutes, and then told us that they had not arrived and they called the wrong person!!!!! He didn't even apologize! Now, almost two months, I am concerned that they have lost them. We are never buying glasses there again! Never come here. There are the same quality glasses at cheaper price, less creepy people who don't follow you around, and most of all, PEOPLE WHO DON'T LIE!! I recommend Boaz Eyewear. Great prices and service. My mom's friend recommended this place to me about three years ago and I've been coming here since then! I mainly come here for my contacts so my review may differ slightly from glasses review. In any case, I visited Italee Optics this past weekend and had my eye exam for contact lens since it's been 2 years my last check up. The procedure was quick and simple. With some wait, I probably finished within 15 minutes. After, Paul, my service rep, let me try on few color contacts since I wanted to pick up a new lens other than grey. After some negotiation, I got 4 boxes (2 right and 2 left) of clear astigmatism contacts and 2 blue (1 right and 1 left) contacts plus an eye exam for total of $290! If you think of this price as in Costco term, my eye exam would be $100 and I got 6 boxes of contacts for $190, which means I got each box for approximately $31.70! I was told at Costco that 1 box of clear astigmatism contact is $32.50 so I know I already saved some big bucks considering I also ordered color contacts. :) In addition, Italee Optics will send you your contacts to your address with no charge. Two years ago, Italee Optics let me order my new contacts based on my prescription I had with them and sent me my contacts directly to my UCSB dorm address! How convenient can it get? I also love Paul because if you negotiate, he'll give you a slight discount (In my recent visit, he gave me $20 off my total bill). He also lets you try on endless amount of color contacts and gives you freebies like any other optometry office such as contact solutions, glasses clothes, glasses case, etc. All in all, Italee Optics might not be the cheapest office out there but it sure does keep me happy! read more

Recently, I had a problem with my vision getting blurry while I had my lenses in, and I had a miserable couple of months trying to finish up the pack of lenses I had left even though they clearly weren't working with my eyes. I finally decided to come in and see an optometrist and figure out what was going on. It ended up being a problem with the axis in my astigmatism lenses being off balance, but because the generic lens brands don't manufacture lenses with my exact axes, I had to experiment with many different samples before finally finding a pair that fits my eye best. The man who runs the lens department, Justin, was so incredibly helpful. Diagnosing the problem took about 5 visits in total, and I think Justin and the lens crew gave me about 4 different trial lens packs. I was incredibly frustrated throughout the process and thought that he would be too, but he was so professional and courteous. Even as I sat there for an hour trying on lens after lens, he did not make me feel rushed or burdensome in the slightest and was so friendly to me over the course of many weeks. He never made any snarky comments about my multiple visits and always greeted me with a warm welcome, and for that, I felt comfortable taking the time I needed to test out different brands and prescriptions and finally found one that works well with my eyes. In my last visit, I apologized for having taken up so much time and resources from them, and he responded by saying he prefers customers bring these problems to figure out step by step and considers it all a learning experience, and that it's not my fault that I have sensitive eyes. I was so impressed by his customer service skills, and overall, the mindset of the entire store. I will always bring my glasses/lens related needs to Justin and the Italee staff :-) read more

i was on a mission to find awesome sunglasses as a groomsmen gift for my wedding. i had 10 groomsmen and i wanted to provide them the freedom to choose sunglasses in their style / face but at the same time, not obliterating my budget haha after talking to about 7 different sunglass huts or optometry places with little to no success... i walked into italee and talked to marty. marty instantly understood my mission and was able to get me exactly what i needed. what a freaking godsend! within the first 5 minutes of chatting and discussing my pain points, he immediately walked me over to a few cases and told me to pick out 12 pairs of varying style that i thought my guys would like. Poor quality work and don't stand behind their product. Bought a pair of glasses about 9 months ago here. Top of the line progressive lenses costing $460. 3-4 months ago noticed that the coating was starting to deteriorate on one of the lenses. It progressed to involve about ¼ of the lens. I brought them in to be fixed (either new coating or new lenses) and was told I would have to pay full price-- that there was no warranty on lenses. I have worn glasses for over 35 years and have owned several pairs (including other italee frames). Never had this experience. This was clearly a defective product and should have been replaced. This is one of those types of places where if I had the ability to give negative stars, I would. I came into the place wearing a LA Kings t-shirt. I am also not a typical fem looking Korean guy that Koreans are used to. So Hector, who was actually helpful approached me and asked me if he could help me. To the perfectly bilingual Korean employees, I give you the fist clash (a la Friends). What made matters worse is that their selection is only limited to expensive (mostly made by Luxotica, of course) brands. If they downgraded their merchandise, heaven forbid, they would actually gain clientele and maybe bring in Non-Korean/Hispanics. GASP! These guys really need to work on their customer service. Actually, strike that. They probably feel that they don't need to because they are the biggest optical place in Ktown. It's sad, really. read more

Quality with Descent Pricing: Hell, $140 for Exam and 6 month's Supply of AcuVue II's. That is not bad. If you have astigmatism (spell check) like me, it will cost you $200. Tax included, Yeah-ya! Still not bad, I asked my local Optometry joint and they wanted $140 Exam, $35 Fitting, $59 per box of contacts ( normal ) minimum 2 orders. OK, Next... Oh yeah, very clean place and tons of selection. Customer Service was very good, no appointment yet they took me immediately. Someone recommended this place to me, telling me that the service is very nice. So I came here to get a new pair of glasses and possibly contacts since I've never worn contacts before. As I was told, the service was great. The manager was helping me out, and he let me wear so many pairs of glasses before I made a decision. Since I couldn't see myself with the sample glass frames on display, he even took pictures of me in different frames so that I could see myself and decide. He never rushed me and waited until I was finally satisfied with my choice. When I told him that I was considering about contacts, he let me try a sample pair of contacts as well. Of course, I couldn't take them with me, but it was nice of him to let me do that because I could see my appearance and get the feeling of what it's like wearing contacts. I went there on Tuesday, and I was told that I could pick up my glasses on Friday since it usually takes them about 3-4 days to make the glasses. But when I explained that I couldn't come back on Friday due to my schedule, they ordered my glasses by Thursday. When I went there on Thursday, my glasses were ready. Because I had positive experience with this place, I ordered my contacts as well. The person who was helping me with contacts was very nice and helpful. But it's true that the price range is quite high. At the same time, though, I think it's worth it considering all the good services and quality you can get from this place! :) read more

Do not trust them for their fancy building and disguised politeness. I had to fight for my rights and gave up at the end because they are just plainly irresponsible for their actions. They may have a good deal in price, but they are not going to be responsible for any of the customers troubles that was caused by their wrong procedure. They would sell the hard lenses without an eye exam, won't tell you that the exam is a mendacity procedure, and will not be responsible for any result that the customer may face. They will not going to protect their customers for the sake of their legal laws when they were not following the proper procedure themselves without notifying the customer. read more

Great prices and they have most of the brands you want. I just picked up my Ray Ban prescription glasses. This is my third pair that I've bought from them. I originally sought them out because they were the only folks I knew at the time that carried the Kazuo Kawasaki lines at the time in the area, so I got my pair of Kazuo's here, and was so happy with the glasses and their service as well as their price, I went back to get a pair of Oakley prescription glasses for work, and I just went to get my Ray Ban dual tone wayfarer glasses. I was referred to this place by my sister. I wanted something fancy and most of the places in los angeles seemed to carry just the generic ones. I got three reading glasses and two sunglasses from them over the past two years. They're all holding well and still look great. The place is nice and clean (if not luxurious) Staff is always friendly, Work is done on time as promised. Pricing is on the expensive side but you get what you paid for. The staff was very patient and helpful in answering all our questions and sorting through all the different types of frames we were uncertain about. After trying a few other places i can honestly say that this is the best place to get your glasses done. I have gone to other places but this is the only place that always gets my prescription right. I never have headaches , or irritated eyes. They are always just right. Exams are i think $45. The only down side is that glasses are 95% designer / expensive but if you explain what you want they usually can accommodate you. I have brought my mom, dad, friends. We always get a nice discount. Side note. I have gotten the Hispanic guy 2 times and both times i really didn't like his service. Hes not a good listener. Just trys to sell you on the most expensive glasses. I called about 8 other optometrists in LA & the greater LA area trying to find the best deal for a contact exam. This was by Far the best price: 60+ the price of contacts. I have astigmatism so it's usually even pricier for the exam alone. I walked in, sans appointment on a Saturday afternoon, and left with my trial pair in about 45 mins. Perfect customer service- polite, efficient, and fluent in Korean, English, Spanish. Facilities are spacious, bright and clean. They even rush ordered my toric contacts for me as I'll be out of town in three days. Highly recommend! read more

I've gotten glasses from Italee for several years now. It's a primarily Korean shop, so I am usually helped in Korean. I've occasionally walked in without an appointment; they were able to assist me pretty speedily. The eye exam is very quick and features newer exam equipment than some other optometry stores I've been to (e.g. no more "which is better, A or B?" because they have an autorefractor). There's a pretty large selection of higher end frames from luxury brands. I'm unsure how much the markup is, but most of my frames have cost several hundred dollars. The assistants at Italee were able to quickly find which glasses fit my face and desired look. read more

I recently came here to get new glasses.. I absolutely loved the upgraded technology they use to take your eye exam. I've wore glasses, practically all my life and I must say their exam was a breeze! Very quick & impressive!! my only complaint- sale assistant was too pushy having me try on frame after frame.. not really giving me space to show my boyfriend and have HIM help me decide, He was a cool dude, just needs to back off a bit. When I came to pick up my glasses I notice another sales man opening a Prada cabinet that I was never aware off, and saw super cute glasses... except I'd already paid half for the pair I initially chose, I was bummed... still, good experience. read more

Where should I start? First off, if you ask for a contact lense prescription after an eye exam, they state in a rude manner that it's not in their "policy" to give out prescriptions after six months from the eye exam. The law in California states that a prescription should be given after an eye exam. I wanted a prescription to purchase my contact lenses at Costco because Italee's prices were ridiculously high. The guy in charge of contact lenses treated me like trash after I rightfully demanded a prescription. His attitude was highly inappropriate for an employee to treat any customer. Their pricing is stiff. They won't negotiate on prices. I will never go to this place again. Absolutely no respect. read more

Horrible customer service and overcharges. Went to go back to get my frames fixed but they stated I was a week over the warranty. Ok fine order the small piece that was broken. How much? $150 !?!?!?? Are you kidding I shelled out 400+ for these things and the part that broke was very small. Ask for a little bit of remorse and kick down. Was ignored the whole time I was there after I spoke to that rep. Even when I tried to approach another person they walked off.
