We completed a top to bottom remodel of our master bath in 2019. In 2022 problems arose with the tile floor. The grout was failing and the floor tiles were coming apart. The original tile sub repaired the tile grout twice but ended up walking away from the job. At that point and to his credit, our general contractor hired Italian Heritage Tile and Stone to inspect the floor. Sal and Vince quickly determined the floor needed to be replaced; the original installation was defective. Sal estimated they could do the job in two weeks or less. In fact it took less, 9 work days, to remove the old tile and install the new floor. I would describe the process as seamless! The two workers arrived on time, cleaned up at the end of each day, and laid a beautiful floor. They went the extra mile to hand sort the tile to mach the vagaries of the tile we selected. We built our house from the ground up for over a year between 2012 and 2013. Sal Santangelo (owner) of Italian Heritage Tile & Stone worked with us from the beginning to the end of our large project. He helped us during the architectural & structural drawings to find the best stone to use for the outside of our house, and we met with him many times after that to decide on tile, granite, marble, stone, and accent pieces throughout the house. Sal does not just do the construction; he will sit down with you and go over different design options until you decide on the best one. I am probably one of the hardest people to work for when it comes to tile work. I can't stand it when tile is not strait or not spaced the same between tiles, and lucky for us Sal is the same way. The outside of our house has 3 different sizes of smooth travertine tile. Every piece had to be perfect or it would look awful. Sal would find pieces that he wanted redone before I would see them, and he never blinked an eye if I found something that I wanted fixed. Italian Heritage Tile and Stone completed a project involving re-facing an old brick fireplace and hearth with marble tile. Some demolition was required to remove protruding bricks and the top row of brick from the hearth. Approximately 100 square feet of 12x24 inch tile was installed. The installers were meticulous in every phase of the installation from leveling and smoothing the surfaces with a layer of mortar to choosing and placing the tiles to enhance the natural beauty of the stone. The installation was carefully planned and the layout is symmetrical and balanced. They did much more than just stick the tiles to the brick. Care was taken to protect the hardwood floor and surrounding surfaces and the work area was cleaned at the end of each day.
