I have eaten Ithaki catered food many times and have found it be excellent. Today, I ate at the restaurant in person for the first time. I went for lunch. I found the food underwhelming, and not at all authentic Greek. I was so disappointed that I do not see myself returning for lunch. Omg , we were cruising down Rte 1 and getting hungry.... We saw Ithaki and decided ok let's stop here and try it out. Much to our delight the food and atmosphere were fantastic! I got the falafel hummus small plate and my husband got the chicken souvlaki small plate and we shared the Greek salad . Everything was so fantastic we were so happy and left nothing on the plates . The food is fantastic. They have also done an amazing job with the décor-contemporary but not ostentatious. The soundproofing also makes for a very nice ambiance for talking quietly within our table of 4 even I. A very busy restaurant. Lastly, I want to say how wonderful our waitress, Josselin, was. Hello, ate here a couple of weeks ago while in town. Everything about it was impeccable, the wine selection had a full menu page of selections. So many in fact that I had to try 2 or 3 different Cabernets. Started with the Babaganoush, excellent and lots of it; so much so that it came home with me. The Mediterranean salad was fabulous with an amazing ginger based dressing. Nuts, berries, feta and olives. For the main course I had a spanakopita (2 good sized servings on the plate). Also delicious. Just needed to ask for a few lemon wedges as I am accustomed to eating this dish in a Greek restaurant. All in all, absolutely fabulous. Can't wait to go back again soon. The chef is simply amazing! The restaurant beautiful. The lamb chops were seasoned by an expert and grilled to perfection! The lamb sauce was sublime. The baba ghanoush was charred to perfection. Wow! We had Ithaki cater an event for us yesterday, and we couldn't be more pleased. The food was amazing and Petro was so easy to work with. He is truly a gifted chef that puts love into his food. The presentation of the Greek salad was like no other. Everything was meticulously cut, neat and well seasoned. The chicken kebob was moist and the salmon melted in your mouth. We also ordered the lamb youvetsi that was tender with perfectly cooked orzo. They exceeded all expectations and the passion for his profession is so evident in his food. read more

Really nice place. This was previously "Our Place" and before that, Carrabba's Italian. The owners made just enough changes to the space that it looks completely different from the previous restaurant. We had drinks and dinner at the bar. We were blown away by the village dip (comes with bread with every meal) and the Half Chicken. We came here on a date night and it was not a cheap date by any means, but the great food and service were well worth the price. I wouldn't bring picky kids or teens here, as I'm not sure there is enough on the menu to appeal to the likes of my son. We'll be back, but just for date night, not a family dinner. read more

Management style felt like they were a bit overwhelmed and working out the kinks of opening a new restaurant, but all in all - I'd go again. One thing - it's not kid friendly. Wow, great new find - I had a fig martini which had great depth (and half a fresh fig along with a Luxardo cherry), a delightful fattoush salad and braised lamb shank. My husband had a tenderloin special which came with a unique twist on ratatouille, which was molded and wrapped in a zucchini strip with a slab of potato on top. Dessert was Galactobouriko, warm vanilla custard wrapped in phyllo with a honey glaze and cherries - outstanding. We arrived pretty early on a Friday (4:15) and I was surprised to find a couple of large parties and a few other tables already occupied - the one issue here is acoustics (tile floor) and seating - we were initially offered a table tucked in a corner but only 2 feet from a party of 8 when there was lots of more private space available - we were seated elsewhere, but as the restaurant began to fill up, the noise levels increase - another couple seated next to us as we were preparing to leave also asked to be moved because of noise levels but were told there wasn't any other place available. read more

Simply FABULOUS. Spent the entire week in Salem and one dining experience after the next was disappointing & had concluded that Salem was no dining destination. THEN, I found Ithaki & all was changed. All the Greek classics wonderfully prepared and presented in true authentic fashion. Grilled Octopus was the best I've had and the Saganaki was a good as Greektown in Chicago. I think the hostess was part owner & simply lovely. Staff was friendly & professional. In an area where a nice dinner is a challenge--this place is an absolute gem and a must try. I'll be back next time I'm in the neighborhood and can't wait. read more

Been here a number of times on the weekend , but decided to take advantage of not well publicized Tuesday night dollar oyster special they have. Not disappointed, the oysters were large, tasty and served on a tray of ice. Then we split a Caesar's Salad (excellent) followed by a lamb kabob for the wife and clams and pasta for me. Everything was very good but what really set it apart was our server Elise. She was very attentive, was informed on gluten sensitivity my wife has and spaced the servings out perfect. Food was good but we waited a very long time for it and it was on a Tuesday night....not busy at all. But the real kicker was my wife and friend ordered martinis and asked that the dirty ice from the shaker come with the drinks on the side. They got the ice but was charged $2.00 for it. We didn't notice the charges, (wife and friend ordered another) until we got home and reviewed the receipt. We spent $340.00 there that night and these (don't want to use the word I'm thinking of) people had the nerve to charge $2.00 x 2 for ice that would have gone down the drain. Every restaurant we've ever been to will gladly give you the ice and never has any place charged for it. Ask me if I'll ever eat there again or recommend the place to anyone. We will not and I am passing this story on to anyone who will listen and the many people that I have told won't go there because of this. When we told the Host we had 2 young kids, I could feel the internal "eye-roll". it wasn't an obvious gesture, but this restaurant clearly is not "child-friendly". They do not have a kids menu. Really? Lamb was skimpy, felafel was dry & tasteless, octopus was good & kids burgers were way too huge & expensive. (but no kids menu, so what could we do?)
