Wow. I should have read the reviews before I came here. Im a long time fan of Its Boba Time, I've been to almost all of their locations but today was my first time at this USC location. Safe to say - never again. I usually stick to my favorite drink Strawberry Oreo Shake and I ALWAYS like to add a scoop of Strawberry ice cream on top of the drink (for an extra charge of $1.50). Well, when I ordered that drink today, the guy at the cash register (his name was Edgir) would not accept my request to put ice cream on top. He said they mix the ice cream inside the drink and dont put it on top (which Im aware, I just always like to add a scoop of ice cream on top and pay extra for it). I proceeded to tell him every other location I've been to has always accommodated my request and never had an issue with it. And then he was like "Yeah no we're different". Different how? Aren't all branches supposed to follow the same rules and regulations? If other BB Time locations never saw an issue with it, why would this one refuse? Needless to say, when the drink came out - it was mid at best. It was watered down and DOES NOT taste the same as how the other locations would make it. It was very underwhelming Now, I don't know if I caught this person on his bad day or what - but service needs to be better. He just looked like he did not want to do his job and so this goes on affect the quality of their drinks. Very disappointing service. I ordered a lychee milk tea and was given a lychee tea without milk. It took an extremely long time just to get someone to acknowledge me, so long that another customer waiting in line left without being helped. The staff were working in an open area and could clearly see customers, but they continued doing their own thing without acknowledging anyone. When I was finally able to explain the issue, the staff member seemed confused and made it seem as if I was wrong, even though I showed my receipt which clearly stated the drink included milk. They threw away the incorrect drink and then took a long time to remake the correct one. Overall, the lack of attentiveness and slow response made the experience disappointing. read more

We've been loyal customers of Boba Time for a long time, but tonight's experience was beyond disappointing. We placed a mobile order at 9:20 PM and didn't receive our drinks until 10:30 PM. That's over an hour of waiting mind you these drinks we ordered ahead of time. When we arrived, we asked for our order and were casually told, "We'll work on it." We asked four more times. At one point, an employee just pulled one drink out of the refrigerator (which had clearly been sitting there). By the time we got everything, what was supposed to be a frappe was basically refrigerator milk. Honestly, if I wanted plain milk, I would've stayed home and poured it myself. The entire experience was frustrating, disrespectful of our time, and far below the standard we're used to here. After being handed what was practically milk, we asked about the rest of the order and we were ignored. We kept waiting no updates, no urgency. Eventually, we realized they had completely forgotten to make the rest of our order. Only then did they finally start making the other drinks. Love that they have a Boba Time near USC now to help make up for the lack of higher quality boba in the area. With that said, I had the strangest ordering experience trying to get my Teaspresso. I wanted to order an Oolong Milk Tea with Oat Milk and Boba. Sounds pretty simple, but the staff kept telling me that they prepared their drinks with non-dairy milk... which is great, but I kept saying that I would like oat milk instead. For some reason, this back and forth went for a bit but we eventually got the drink down. I think they were genuinely trying to be helpful and in the end, I did get the drink that I wanted. But since my drink was so simple, I was hoping it would be a simple enough transaction lol. I enjoy going to Boba time. This location is in a busy plaza so there's often time no parking but if you're lucky enough you do find street parking. The staff was super friendly and the service was quick. I ordered my favorite drink which is the dirty horchata. Came here from the Bay Area while i was visiting a friend and was really pleased. I am a slight boba snob and judge boba joints based on how/what type of lids boba drinks comes in (i.e. heat sealed lids vs snap-on clear tops like how a pho place might have, proper sippy cup top for salted cheese or foams, etc....). Was also happy with the cup quality. The menu was extensive which could be a bit overwhelming if you don't have a go-to. Workers weren't overly friendly but weren't rude either. Decor was nice and i like the faux leaf wall they had going on. Absolutely love the high ceiling with the dome moonlight window. Oolongs are my go to drink so i tried out the milk foam rose oolong (light ice, no sugar, with boba). Floral/rose taste was distinct but could still tasty the toasty-ish oolong. Boba was thoroughly cooked but was not "honey" boba. And to be fair, they do not advertise it to be so. Just a heads up if you expect that sweet flavor from the boba. Also got a house milk tea and a Thai tea - both were good, Thai tea was a bit on the sweeter side but IMO is usually something to be expected. I also got an açaí bowl which was super good considering this is not an açaí place. A lot of toppings and was big enough that it took me the whole day to finish it (i left it in the fridge and picked at it throughout the day). After a night out of food with my gal pals, we decided to end the night with some Boba. We came to this place and it was PACKED. Which I'm not surprised since Boba Time is pretty popular and it was a weekend. But even though it was packed the servers were quick to make drinks and handled the line pretty well. I always get anxious with all of the variety of things on the menu so I'm glad that the person who took my order was kind enough to help me order. The people at this place were so friendly. I got the honey lemon black tea which was really sweet and I love that they added a lemon to it to add more flavor to the tea.
