I can't endorse using this company enough. I went through a couple calls with other companies before trying this business, and was blown away by their responsiveness and honesty... really put me at ease even though I had never dealt with this type of issue before. I especially want to thank Ivan for his kindness - not only was he completely transparent about the issues with my old AC system (and even went out of his way to show me/try to teach me what he was talking about), but stayed in the area to call several places to find a reasonably-priced replacement for me because so many places were on back-order. Because a new unit wouldn't come for about a week (thankfully it was only a week!), he offered to install portable AC units for the time being so that I wouldn't melt in my own house. On the day of installment, his staff were all SUPER courteous and kind. Very professional, knew exactly how to work with each other efficiently to get the job done, and cleaned up after. Don't even know where to start, to be honest. My furnace just died during a historic cold front in the US and my home was 47°. Ivan came to check out my HVAC unit a few months ago; it had been underperforming and I wanted to get it fixed up before summer hit. He diagnosed a leak and was very honest with my options as far as refrigerant and possible fixes or a replacement. My impression was that he was much more up front with me than many of the other companies that I've talked to, particularly about the cost of refrigerant and whether I should be concerned about replacing my R22 unit (R22 is currently being phased out). His prices were very reasonable as well, compared to what I've seen advertised elsewhere. I decided to go for the easiest fix option to see if I can get a few more years out of the unit. Now we're almost through the summer and it's been working beautifully so far. My electric bill is significantly down too so I know it's running more efficiently, at least for now. When my air conditioner stopped blowing out cold air, I called a large HVAC company to diagnose and fix the problem. After spending nearly an hour testing my HVAC system, the technician told me that the condenser outside my home wasn't turning on and that I needed to replace the furnace's control board at a cost of almost $1,600. Of course, I felt overwhelemed, and given that my HVAC system was already old, I thought it might be best to spend $5-6k to replace the HVAC system rather than sinking $1600 into it. My gut, however, told me that something wasn't right, so I decided to get a second opinion. I did a search on Yelp to find a highly rated HVAC company. Fortunately, It's Phenomenal came up in my search results and was one of the few HVAC companies with a 5-star rating. Ivan managed to squeeze me in the same day, which was wonderful considering how hot the temperature had been. In less than 30 minutes, he told me that I had a bad thermostat. At first, I was skeptical about his diagnosis because I had replaced the thermostat only about a couple years prior. However, after listening to the explanation for his diagnosis, I knew he was probably correct. Since I had replaced a thermostat before, I only paid the diagnostic fee and went to the hardware store and bought a new thermostat to install the next morning. Needless to say, he was absolutely correct! In less than 30 minutes, I installed the new thermostat, and the condenser outside started working when I turned the the thermostat to the AC setting. Between the service fee charged by It's Phenomenal and the cost of the new thermostat that I installed by myself, I was able to fix the problem for less than $130 total! It's Phenomenal saved me from a very costly repair and possibly the premature replacement of my HVAC system. But more importantly, It's Phenomenal proved to me that there are still trustworthy, competent service professionals that can do quality work at a reasonable price! Quick, responsive, personable, and did a good job. Also, was willing to work with my (somewhat unusual) situation -- completing the job on a ductless mini-split installation. I called other contractors who weren't interested in doing finishing work (i.e. attaching the copper lines and pressure testing the system) where I DIY'ed the first 90% of the installation and just needed an HVAC tech to attach the lines. Ivan was like, no problem, and put together a detailed, accurate estimate extremely quickly. Also, Ivan was super chill and flexible when I texted him at the last minute to reschedule. Fantastic service! Had issues with our boiler, A/C and heat pump , and Nest. We called on a cold Sunday, and Ivan showed up within two hours (ahead of quoted time). He immediately went to work and found several wiring problems (disconnected/loose wiring), and fixed everything with 90 minutes (including crawling up on our roof to check a rooftop unit). He also noted a potential electrical issue and recommended wiring upgrade from original install (need a higher gauge wire to handle electrical current). Good evening Thank you for coming out giving me an overpriced estimate for an incorrect diagnosis. It's shameful I paid 69.00 for an assessment only for your diagnosis to be incorrect. I had another company come out today and assess the unit as well and as I thought the compasitor needed replaced, not the compressor which you insisted it was, that needed replaced. Not to mention, per the second HVAC specialist who was able to fix my unit determined you may have tampered with it to better support your incorrect diagnosis. What's more upsetting is I trusted your word and was considering paying the 1,000 dollar labor cost under duress due to the hot weather. Bad business sir... and if this was in fact an error on your part I truly believe you should go back for extra training. The only reason I gave you 2 stars is because you were very polite and respectful. To be a black woman and to be taken advantage and almost scammed by another black person is despicable. Please note my AC unit is fully working and cooling my upstairs with the replacement of the compasitor NOT the compressor! Was have heating issues on my heat pump system after a new wi fi thermostat was installed by me.Diagnostic price was reasonable. The guys came in and corrected the issue right away because the thermostat was not programmed correctly by emerson/sensi support. They also hooked up the c wire that powers the unit, which was just running on batteries which is acceptable, but having the c wire hooked up is a plus. Sent them a email with my problem and asked if somebody could come out after 5pm. They called me back and said they would be there the next evening and they stood by their word. I went to my recently vacated rental property a couple of weeks ago when the temperatures were frigid, to meet a roofer (Four Seasons Roofing - great company!). We both immediately noticed how cold it was in the home and the roofer told me that my immediate concern should not be the roof (which was actually fine) but to get the HVAC fixed so that I would not have any issues with the pipes. I opened my Yelp app and called the top-rated HVAC folks. The first few that I called were unable to come until later that day. Until I called, 'It's Phenomenal.' They said, we'll be there in 30 minutes! Wow! They came, diagnosed a broken thermostat and were able to immediately replace it. Two days later, I went to the house again and this time it was too hot, and the new thermostat was non-responsive to changes in setting. I called 'It's Phenomenal' again and Ivan said he'd come right over, which he did and found wires in the furnace that were touching and causing it to run continuously. He was able to fix it and everything has been fine since. I am impressed with Ivan's responsiveness, reasonable price and dedication to his craft.
