Out in Hollywood decided to get a late dinner. Got the Thai udon. It's the best I've had; super flavorful and creamy from the coconut milk and the seafood was fresh and tender. Definitely the best dish in the menu. Also got to try the pho but it's more of a western palate. A little sweet, no depth. But solid. Notching a star for not letting us use the restroom. One of our kids had sticky hands from the crab Rangoon that leaked all over and needed to wash her hands. read more

I've been here twice! The first time I had beef pho and it was delicious. The second time I came and ordered the spicy chicken and rice and chicken satay. When I arrived the order wasn't ready. They also told me that the order had just came through and they didn't have the chicken satay anymore. Even though I ordered from their website. I switched to the spicy wings. My order was rushed and instead of getting spicy rice, my dish was just regular. The wings were crispy but only a few of the wings had sauce on them. Still giving them a 4 because of my first experience with the pho. Id give the Pho an A, but the wings and the chicken and rice I'd give C's. Average at best read more

I ordered the Massaman Curry with Rice with tofu. It was the perfect level of spice. The potatoes and carrots were cooked just right, it was wonderful over white rice. Would definitely get it again. read more

I have been here before for the excellent Pho Soup. Today I felt like noodles in salad so I ordered the Bun with lemongrass chicken. Called ahead for carry out. The person on the phone was personable and easily understandable and jsut as nice in person when I picked up my order. The salad is REALLY Big! And the chicken is plentiful and seasoned just right - not too much of any flavor. Bonus? I get to have MORE of it for lunch today as it is easily enough for 2 meals! And at less than $15, truly a great value. (PS Their Special daily Pho soup is simply a slightly smaller portion than their regular Pho. Call it a Lunch-size portion read more

One of the better spots in the area per my relative who resides in the area. I think the fact that we could eat both Thai and Vietnamese from one location really makes this establishment stand out. I enjoyed the Kha Soi (curry noodles) - the pad Thai was good in flavor but needed more gravy. The taste of the spring rolls and peanut sauce was yummy but wished we had more peanut sauce to spread! All in all the service was great, the food was good and price point is fair for the portions they provide! Keeping this spot on a short list of LA spots to dine at! read more

$13+ for combination beef pho. A bit on the pricey side but considering it's in Hollywood that could be in order to keep up with the cost of the area. With that, I can understand. The slices of beef were thicker and better quality than your average pho spot. Broth had great balance and depth of the beef broth. We also ordered the bun bo hue. The broth was a bit overpowering in flavor of the fish sauce. Bun bo hue was not accompanied with your usual perilla leaves, mint, and such. Location is in a strip mall plaza with a market. Parking can get busy. read more

A good option for pho located in a strip mall with (this is the best part) FREE PARKING! I ordered the beef combination pho. I love tripe so I was stoked that was one of the meats included. The broth was rich and really flavorful. Meat was good too except it seemed to me like there were just 2 pieces of each. This is probably just preference but I would trade less noodles for more meat any day. All in all though the portion was good because I still couldn't finish all the noodles. I come here with coworkers for lunch ocassionly it's fast because we only have 30 mins for lunch but today was beyond words. To start off we sat down ourselves, table wasnt ready but no big ordeal, waitress came to table cleaned it off and gave menu's. She asked if we wanted drinks while we browsed the menu, took the order and we started to look. When she brought the drinks back we were ready to order, places the order and patiently waited for food. As we were waiting another person came sat down and ordered food 5mins after we did, 20mins come rolling by and food was not served yet, but when i looked over my shoulder the person that came later was served her food, not to say the less i was a little perturbed but our food came 5mins after that. We now had less then 10mins to finish our lunch and no one came back to see if we were ok, needed condiments, refresh our drinks or anything. Ate as fast as i could but still no one came by to check on us or to refill our drinks, by that time my lunch was over and needed the bill and boxes for the left overs. I had to go to the front desk to get both the box and bill so we could get going. As a basic rule of thumb I believe "tip" is based on service and since i was doin most of the leg work from getting my condiment, box's, and bill i was doin the work. So I left a "zero" tip because they didnt seem busy since when we looked around they were behind the front desk. I filled out the bill and we both left. To my surprise the waitress ran out the front door and i stopped immediately to see what was wrong and she said, "No Tip?" well not only was i floored and shocked by her statement, i was to say the least dumb founded. She caught me by surprise because the "LACK of SERVICE" is how i deemed the tip given but I pulled out of my wallet $2.00 for a $25 bill. I used to tell my friends of this place, but I think i will not be referring this restaurant again nor will be giving my business. (Still in disbelief for the horrible service, chased after for tip for not leaving one "shakes my head", wow now thats some gull.) read more

DO NOT ORDER HERE! Ordered carry out with a credit card, and the delivery person, gave himself a big fat tip on my credit card!!!! BAD BUSINESS! Will never eat here again. Update: Only pho place in Hollywood, so caught myself coming back here for pho. Rude, unfriendly, and unprofessional staff that puts no effort in customer service. I'm not sure why this place is still in business. The cooker in the back is probably an immigrant worker, working on a slave wage, because I sure as hell can't stand the staff here. The best way to get their attention is ask for their name, and give them a taste of their own medicine, stare down at them, give them a dirty look, and don't smile. Playing nice and patient doesn't work here. Order your food with an attitude, and you'll be sure to get it promptly. Don't say, "please," or "thank you" or "can I get" or "may I get." Use entitlement language, such as, "Get me a spoon!"," Bring me my order in 10 minutes!" Also, don't tip here, they don't deserve it, let along deserve any business. Let me know how it works. I ordered delivery from here. I'm currently sick so I ordered three chicken broth soups: chicken pho, bun bo hue with vegetables, and the sukiyaki with tofu. The sukiyaki was my favorite, but they were all good. The veggies in the soups and the veggies that came with them were all very fresh. each came with the garnishes and noodles separate, and with spicy chili sauce, which is great for a bad stuffed nose. They all were very hot when they arrived, and each of the two I didn't eat right away kept well in the refrigerator. I would say none of them were majorly flavorful, but they are chicken broth and vegetables, so they're not supposed to be flavor bombs. In fact, I wanted something more delicate. I didn't want a salty or thick/slimy American style chicken soup. This was fresh, light, and satisfying. I'll be ordering from them again tomorrow since I'm still sick :( read more

Our server was super friendly and got our orders spot on, but the rest of the experience was a letdown. Parking's a breeze, unless you show up during rush hour, then you're stuck circling the block. The supposedly authentic Vietnamese food tasted suspiciously Americanized - think Vietnamese food's quirky cousin who moved to the States. The Vietnamese crepe was a shrinking violet, smaller than others for the same price, though it did have a nice crunch. The combo vermicelli was overcooked, and don't even get me started on the bone broth - it tasted more like cinnamon sugar cookies than actual broth. And good luck finding a restroom - you'll be out of luck. All things considered, this place is more of a delivery joint than a dine-in spot, unless you enjoy playing musical chairs with the limited seating. read more

I came with a friend, and unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. From the moment we sat down, we felt like we were being ignored. The waitress (or possibly the owner) was busy talking to someone else, even though she clearly saw us. We waited a long time just to get some attention, and we even moved to a table closer to her, hoping she'd notice us but nothing changed. The whole experience made us feel unwelcome and unimportant. Good service is a huge part of dining out, and sadly, the service here was well below expectations. It was my first time coming to this establishment. Pho is one of my favorite dishes which makes me very picky on where I go to eat it. We've been coming to this place since they opened. We now live in Texas and everytime we come back to visit family, this place is a must. the service is amazing and they have the best Thai food I've had anywhere in the US. Very authenti. It's Pho was the first place where I tried Thai food and it was super great! I just fell in love with it. I had phad thai with pork which was phenomenal. After that i had phad thai in two different places one of which was in Thai town, but phad thai in Pho is still my favorite. If you looking for place to try Thai food, look no more. The bathroom was really clean and it was the only place in the area with a bathroom . The whole staff was so nice and generous they even took a picture for us . luv this place! I'm addicted to Pho & almost usually go the veggie route. It's hard to find a place that does pho veggie broth soooo yummy. You do a great job! Only thing I'm sad about is that you close so early now (10pm) I often want it on my way home from work & can't get it as often because of that. Maaaaybe push it to 11pm on weekends???? I called the restaurant and they told me it would be 45 minutes to get a replacement. 45 minutes to make this right?!!! The servings are huge and the food is always delicious. There is parking and if you want a dessert afterwards you have options. In the rare case that the lot is filled just go to the CVS across the street. The cream cheese won tons are delish. The one thing I would change is the music, sometimes they play these really awkward remixes of pop music. read more

The lunch special is such an incredible deal that I find myself getting it far more often than other comparable lunch specials in the nearby vicinity. The chicken was simply boiled but not seasoned. That makes the meat taste like it was prepared for dogs, not humans. No salt added, no pepper, no nothing. It smelled awful and tasted just as bad. Only two shrimp were placed on the salad. Shrinkflation I suppose could explain that. How sad. The salad dressing was tasty but because of the chicken, the entire salad was inedible. It was revolting. And I don't use that word lightly. Mind you, I have been a customer for about 20 years here. It makes me sad to describe them using these words but it is true. The food was not fit for human consumption. I ordered the spicy seafood soup. I requested extra spicy. My soup didn't have ANY spice at all. Not even salt or pepper. It was bland as could be. It did have plenty of lemon, which helped a little. But they somehow managed to make the fish, which is intrinsically salty, taste bland to the point of being awful. Another inedible dish. Same with the crab. Rather than angry, the whole experience made me sad. Sad to see a restaurant I had always enjoyed dragged into mediocrity. I had brought girlfriends and now my wife, friends, my daughter here. But after this experience I won't return. This was so bad I am skeptical this is something that is fixable. And about the service, I was also disappointed. The server was quick to take our order and bring our meal but didn't check in on us after our meal was served. We never got an opportunity to tell her that the food was not up to its usual tastiness. Not even close. The next time she showed up was when we were disappointed enough to ask for our check a without any intent to struggle through the meal. She asked how it was but didn't even give us a chance to tell her that it sucked. No attempt to make it right. No real concern. I get it. She probably doesn't get paid nearly enough to care she didn't cook it so I can't blame her. And if the cook was trained to not use any spices, then it's not the cooks fault either. This is a problem that points to a total failure at the management level. Whatever was good with the restaurant is gone. The quality is gone. All that's left is an establishment that merely occupies the physical place where an excellent restaurant once stood. All that's left is a restaurant that borders on the criminally disgusting in its food and tragically mediocre in every other aspect. Next time, I'm going to Palm Thai or any other place. But Thai Patio? Only the memories remain. This place ain't it. Don't eat here.
