The staff was not willing to resolve the problem at all. This felt very disappointing and misleading because the promotion influenced my decision to order from them. This was honestly one of the most disappointing experiences I've had in a long time. From the moment we got there, everything seemed completely backed up. We spent way too much time waiting, and it felt like there was no sense of urgency from the staff. Waiting is one thing, but when it looks like nobody is making an effort to keep things moving, it becomes frustrating. What really bothered me was seeing our server watching a show on their phone while they were supposed to be taking care of customers. It's incredibly unprofessional. Instead of checking on tables, making sure people had what they needed, or helping get things back on track, their attention was somewhere else. As a customer, it makes you feel like your time doesn't matter.I'll give credit where it's due: the food itself was actually good. That's the only reason this isn't a one-star review. The kitchen seems to know what it's doing, but unfortunately the service completely overshadowed the meal. Great food can't make up for poor customer service and long, unnecessary waits.. If management wants this place to succeed, they need to pay much closer attention to what happens on the floor. Customers shouldn't have to watch employees being distracted while everyone waits. I did not complain simply because an employee "looked closely" while verifying an order. I described being stared at when I entered, not being greeted, having my greeting ignored, and then being closely monitored while confirming the pickup as if I might take the order without confirming it or manipulate the delivery system in some way. That level of scrutiny, combined with the way I was treated from the moment I walked in, is exactly why I raised concerns about possible racial bias in the first place. I also find the wording "if our actions came across that way" dismissive. A general statement that discrimination is not tolerated does not automatically address possible bias in an individual interaction. Explaining and justifying the employee's behavior instead of addressing the full interaction minimizes what I actually reported. Last night we ordered pad thai with chicken it did not sit well with us. I posted a review on yelp the owner contacted me with in 15 min gave us full refund. I grew up in restaurants like people they have good and bad days. I wrote a food column for several media outlets in San Diego County and even had a radio show at 89.1 and was on KOGO doing dinner and a movie segment on Friday afternoons I know food , the owner has invited me back. In my experience when the owner of a restaurant responds very quickly seeing something on yelp is a good sign whatever happened would be accidental or something out of their control.. The bbq pork was salted to oblivion, so edible is actually a bit of a stretch there. The orange chicken was a big gooey mess of 80% fried dough balls with 20% actual chicken. The appetizer sampler was a pale, monochrome array of flavorless eggrolls with soggy centers, rangoons with way too much cream cheese (also flavorless) and terrible dumplings that had all fused together. The chicken satay was mediocre, which is high praise in this order. Adding flavorless to the description of the entire assortment, actually. The wings were just below mediocre. We both had one and gave up. Even the jasmine rice was undercooked and soggy. Changing to one star, now that I've really considered the whole edible thing. My wife and I went to bed and woke up still feeling sick, and I think it's actually a bad thing that it doesn't appear to be food poisoning - just terrible fried garbage passing through our systems. I'm usually of the opinion that every restaurant deserves two tries, so I'll just say, don't order here when they're busy. read more
