I am extremely disappointed and shocked by the lack of hygiene and quality control at "Its Tofu." I placed an order (#295512433) for pickup on January 11, 2026, around 5:06 PM. While eating, I discovered a rubber band inside my food. Finding a foreign object like this in a meal is completely unacceptable and poses a serious choking hazard and health risk. It clearly shows a neglect of food safety standards in the kitchen. I have attached photos of the rubber band and my receipt as proof. I expect the management to take this matter seriously. I will not be returning and would advise others to check their food carefully. read more

First time trying this tofu spot in Irvine, and all I can say is I prefer Myung Dong in Walnut, Young Dong in Chino Hills / Diamond Bar and Arirang Tofu House in San Gabriel CA...my soup had no eggs in it. And the banchan was very mid. And for the price to value to quality ratio, I will probably go with BCD. Service was very fast here, and despite being a packed house, they seated me fairly fast. In all honesty, unless I live by here, this would not be a place I'd automatically frequent. And so it's true what they say, "Irvine is a barren land for quality tasty food." It's Tofu is a Korean restaurant in the same plaza as Zion Market. There's a Yelp waitlist but they had no wait on a Wednesday night. We were serviced by Daniel who was very kind and helpful. We got the Seafood Pancake, bugolgi, hot stone bibimbap, and mild beef tofu soup. I really enjoyed the beef tofu soup and bugolgi. The flavor was rich and strong. The hot stone bibimbap was good too but I definitely needed to add the sauce for the extra flavor. I wish the seafood pancake had more flavor and was more crispy/hot. I love a good tofu soup but I'm also picky about it. First I noticed they had Bibimbap I could order as a combo with my tofu soup. Win! And it was not the stone pot version, I prefer the cold one. With this option I chose this spot over another tofu spot down the street. I'm so glad I did. The Bibimbap was delicious, I think I enjoyed it more than my tofu soup! It has the perfect amount of all the ingredients and balanced very well. I was also impressed with the kids tofu meal. It came on a meal tray with plain tofu, fried dumplings, japchae, fried egg, and rice balls. It was way too much food for my 1.5 year old (lol) but the rest of us enjoyed picking things off his plate. The extra spicy tofu soup is pretty darn spicy. Aside from BCD, Its Tofu is another tofu soup spot that is added to my favorites. Came last Friday around 6pm and even though it was pretty busy inside, I only had to wait around 10-15min because I was able to add onto the yelp waitlist beforehand. My party ordered the brisket wagyu bulgogi combo with the mild crab miso tofu soup and the mild seafood tofu soup. The galbi came pretty quick, but the tofu soups did take quite some time (we were almost done with the galbi and our sides by that point which usually doesn't happen), but at least the staff were aware of it. The banchan had very good variety compared to other places and were also all good, with my favorites being the pancake, japchae, and the fishcake. The crab miso tofu soup is a unique flavor that most tofu soup places don't offer (they have quite a lot of flavors to choose from). I wasn't sure what to expect and thought it might not taste good, but I actually really liked it. Arguably better than the seafood flavor we usually get at these restaurants. There were a few pieces of crab and it was relatively fresh. Overall, I'm glad I got to try and I would come back again. I think their banchan really stands out amongst most Korean spots, with a good amount (7 different items) and great quality. Went here on a Friday Night, got seated right away and let me tell you, I would eat here 100% again! The food and the side dishes were all delicious. There was nothing I did not like. My friend and I ordered Stone Pot Bibimbaps, I got bulgogi for mine and it came out hottt. Like I had to wait a couple minutes for it to cool down but I was okay with that because I prefer hot food over lukewarm. Each bite was perfection, everything paired so well together. My only con was the service, I understand it being the dinner rush and it being a Friday Night. It was hard to get a server to come to us and when we did, I only asked for a refill on our water, but that never came. So if you come on a busy day, the service might not be that great. I really liked: LA BBQ Short Ribs Dumpling Tofu Soup Korean Side Dishes I liked: Cold Buckwheat Noodle This was ok: Brisket Wagyu Bulgogi Great flavor on the ribs and tofu soup, not too salty either. The Bulgogi is ok, the flavor is there but texturally very bland. The buckwheat noodles are huge, definitely different from Japanese style cold noodles but still very refreshing! Service here is fairly solid, our server was very attentive and brought us a lot of refills on the sides. She did mess up a little and dropped a scoop of rice onto the table but apologized quickly. I think a lot of people might want a replacement when this happens but there were so many side refills that I'm content without it. It is a bit expensive here but that's just Irvine prices and I always leave here with leftovers so the price feels justified. The restaurant itself is very clean and simple. It's enough to host people off hours but gets busy during proper lunch and dinner hours. I'd definitely enjoy coming here over BCD if the hours were extended later into the night. read more

My friends and I wanted to try this place after seeing their raving reviews. Let's start with the good. The place is nice and clean and has plenty of booth seating. Perfect for small groups or even large parties. They take your order quick and bring out the banchan within minutes. Now the bad .... Their pricing is extremely steep for the quality and portion sizes. I ordered the Masaengi and Oyster tofu soup; and it was honestly the worst tofu soup I have ever tried. It tasted like ocean sea water, hot pepper flakes, and seaweed. No depth of flavor. My friends also ordered the Galbi combo, which came with 6 measly pieces of Galbi, so thin there was practically any meat on the pieces. The best part of the meal, honestly speaking, was the japchae, which was part of the banchan. All the other banchan either lacked flavor or seasoning was completely off. This restaurant is definitely for those who either 1, don't know Korean cuisine, or 2, like white washed Korean food. I'm not trying to sound racist or anything, but it's true. Overall, my group and I won't be returning. We wanted to support a local, family business, however after our visit, we'd rather go to BCD. read more

Great banchan dishes and the mackerel fish, but limited to only one time ask for some of the dishes. We were seated soon as tables were available without reservations for a big party of 8. But our tables were separate bc the tables were bolted on to the ground unfortunately. The taste in their combo varieties here was ok, a bit bland for the pancake and the soon tofu as well.
