We stopped by for dinner on a Saturday - this is a cute little restaurant and has some of the best ramen I've had in the twin cities! The spicy miso ramen was definitely a favorite along with the takoyaki (the octopus pieces are bigger than other places I've tried). The ramen broth is creamy and the right level of spice. I would pass on the donburi bowls - I didn't find them super special, but the ramen was top notch! Definitely will be coming back. Very yummy! My friends and I started off with some takoyaki, croquettes, and tofu. The taste was very authentic! After that we ordered the volcano special, tonkotsu, and mazemen. I was up for some ramen and Itton Ramen came up first in my Yelp search. It had reasonable reviews and wasn't far away so I decided to check it out. The food was okay but doesn't compare to my go to place, Ramen Kazama, so it's doubtful I will return. The decor is pretty basic industrial - bare concrete floors, straight chairs and tables etc. This is livened up with a number of Japanese posters and plastic Hello Kitties. Not particularly intimate or comfortable. The service arrangement is typical these days. One orders and pays at the counter and someone brings you your food. There is a drink machine which delivers ice and a variety of soft drinks and water. You of course fill your own glass. I had the Tonkatsu ramen and an order of three crispy fried shrimp. My food came out quickly- perhaps too quickly as my ramen noodles were too soft as if they had been precooked and allowed to get a bit overcooked. The broth was okay but lacked the richness of flavor of really good ramen broth. There were the usual egg, slices of char siu, etc. The appetizer shrimp were nice and crisp. I was alone so I ate quickly and left. The ambiance did not encourage lingering. Later my mouth got really dry and I became very thirsty indicating a lot of salt in the food. Itton Ramen is several steps below my favorite Ramen Kazama at about the same price so it's doubtful that I'll return. read more

There were mixed reviews on other food sites on Itton Ramen. I found parking very conveniently located in front and on the sides of the restaurant. You have to go up to the counter to order, something important that other Yelpers failed to mention. Once you order, a number with a stand is given and you get your cold drinks...yes, I said 'cold'. I wanted a hot green tea and the server said they only had cold tea. This is the only reason I gave this place 4 stars out of 5. The spicy miso ramen was very good, the gyoza was decent, was hoping they would be bigger but the taste was good. The ambiance allowed good conversation without other tables overhearing what was said. Overall, a nice place to get a hot soup dish but no hot drinks. read more

This restaurant is a cute little place. The food is all made to order, I could hear the chef cooking in the back. It was pretty small, but it had this dark ambience to it. I ordered the Yalu Udon with chicken #21. The food didn't take too long to cook and they brought it right to where I was seated. They give you a fork along with chop sticks. The noodles were cooked perfectly and had a slight sesame oil / peanut taste to them. It was good, but it was a bit plain for my liking. I was expecting a bit more flavor. The chicken was pretty dry. But the noodles, corn, and bean sprouts were really good. The workers were friendly, and the place was very clean. The also played good music. If I went back I'd try the ramen next time or the Itton bun (Japanese steamed burger). read more

This place is absolutely adorable with plenty of references to japanese pop culture! The food came out quick for our party. The pork buns were maybe some of the best I've had compared to ramen places around. They did not skimp on the pork! The takoyaki and udon were good as well. As for the ramen, the pork chashu is thicker than usual which I personally enjoyed. They also packed the bowl with plenty of noodles so if you're a broth lover, may be a downside for you. The broth could have been more flavorful but overall, it was a very satisfying dish. We ended with their mochi ice cream which I never have anything negative to say about ice cream! read more

This was hands down the worst Ramen and Gyoza I have ever been served in a restaurant. After reading the reviews I was excited to try it. Very disappointing the Tonkotsu broth was bland, the noodles both over and under cooked. The Gyoza was at least pan fired. All of the ingredients seem to be subpar. The gyoza tasted as if it came from a frozen pack of cheap potstickers. The gyoza sauce wasn't anything like what you would get in Tochigi, it was more like Tempura sauce. All this at twice the price of most good quality Ramen shops. You would be better off avoiding this place and going somewhere else. read more

Big fan! We were on our way home from the cities and craving ramen so I searched Yelp and found this gem. I got the chicken ramen and my wife got the pork. So flavorful, and just the right size. Some ramen places give giant bowls that are impossible to finish. Here the bowls are a good size but not too big. The ingredients were all fresh and the broth was perfection. The design of the place is clearly for younger people. Lots of colorful Japanese food posters/flyers on the walls, what some people call cute. At least that's easy to ignore while eating. Good ramen. Flavorful and satisfying. Does not have a stand-out unique character of its own, but it is the type of ramen bowl that will be loved and enjoyed by the majority. Unique decor. Has a lot of Japanese ads for other meal dishes that don't exist (i.e., curry rice... it made me want it but obviously they don't offer it). The owner supposedly worked in Japan, so makes sense why the flavor is satisfying. I'll continue to visit this place to see how it improves. read more
