    Soft serve

My favorite place to get fish and chips and soft serve. The prices are unbeatable. The fish and fries always comes out fresh. Soft serve is super creamy and huge portion. Very fast service, you'll get your food in under 10 mins. Beautiful location right next to the beach.

The costumer service here is great. They also sell hot chocolate since it can get a little windy down by the water.

We made a reservation in advance and were lucky enough to be sat next to the window so we were able to overlook the water. Our server came over immediately to give us menus and bring water. I ordered crab bisque and the seafood risotto. Our server brought some bread over shortly after we ordered. It was warm and came with whipped butter. Yum. The crab bisque was delicious. I got some chunks of crab in there so that was great. My seafood risotto was packed with seafood! There was halibut, cod, salmon, and shrimp in it. All was good. The risotto itself was just okay. I little watery than I would've liked. I was sooo stuffed by my coworkers wanted dessert so I got chocolate cream that came in a pizzelle cookie. It also had some raspberry sauce on the plate. It was a perfect way to finish the meal.

Nice lunch for mothers 84th birthday Server was super attentive. Food was good. Quality of fish is there. Tacos were very tasty and well prepared. The view at this location is wonderful. A nice casual place to eat. Do recommend trying it out.

Service was excellent along with view. Food was prompt and hot. The crab however did not taste very fresh and was yellow throughout with a metallic aftertaste. It didn't taste bad but was dry and just not like dungeoness should be. The oysters tasted great. The salad tasted great with the smoked scallops. However the salmon was super dry and difficult to even cut through. The king salmon entree was excellent. That dish was perfect. Salmon was tender, brocolini was crisp tender, and mashed potatoes were very tasty. The price for these dishes, the food should all be excellent. It's unfortunate...

Used the party room for an event. Staff were attentive and helpful through the whole process from the first phone call to helping us wrap up. They were attentive to our needs and were conscious of not over or under selling us. The food was delicious and the buffet attended to well.

    Possession Sound Paella

I was excited to try Ivar's during my first trip to the West Coast, but found the food to be a little lackluster. I went for dinner around 7:30pm with a party of four and was able to get a table easily. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and since it's right on the water, there's an excellent view. We ordered the Possession Sound paella, Ivar's famous cod fish 'n' chips, and the Alaskan halibut in a tomato and fennel broth. I thought the paella had a decent amount of seafood in it and was tasty, but not really a paella. The Alaskan halibut was okay but nothing special. While the service was great, I can't say I would return any time soon since I wasn't that impressed by the food. While Ivar's is a really nice restaurant, better seafood can be found elsewhere.

Pulling in here is always great. Be it in your car for that very long ferry wait to Langley ( which I've done so many times) or just to come to the beach! Once you enter / cross the beach, there's the ferry, seagulls, seagulls singing, the beach; the light house, the waves. And this! Just so beachy! Been here a few too many times yesterday being my recent visit. Yesterday was also the day seattle has our first 70 degrees weather... everyone was out! Lines are huge!! Even here, but for ice cream! Luckily, they had 2 lines. Ice cream line vs anything fried food line. I went for the latter. They are known for true cod and chips but for some reason, I always like their shrimp & chips more. Or even clams & chips. Jumbo prawns & chips is the way to go. Always super sweet giant prawns with freshly fried fries. I usually don't eat the fries but prawns are definitely delicious especially with their tartar sauce. The true cod! Still not my favorite but it's still tasty. You can get it Cajun style if you want spice and it is spicyyyyy. I got mixed but you can tell by the color. The wait wasn't too bad even on such a busy day. I usually order, walk the pier with my pup and pick up the food. Fish & chips by the sea? You just have to do it! Luckily, their food is tasty! Always a good stop!

Loving the bread before we eat!

We went here for lunch around 1pm on a Saturday. They were following all the COVID protocols and sat us outside on the patio on the pier with a great view of the ferry. They attended to us quickly with water and fresh bread (SO fresh and warm and delicious). I wasn't sure what beer I wanted so our server was nice enough to let me sample two before I picked one. Most of the group had fish and chips, while I had clam chowder and a house salad. The clam chowder here is super creamy (and is very different from Duke's). It was slightly not seasoned enough for me but I think that is a personal preference. Food came out hot and we all enjoyed our meals. This is a nice location if you're looking to have a meal outside with a great view--recommended!

The setting is hard to beat, especially on a nice day when you can take in the scenery while dining. The seafood was exceptionally fresh and flavorful, and the overall food quality was excellent. Food was definitely better this time around. I opted with the seafood salad, which was what it sounded like. The one thing that stood out to me were the smoked scallops, which I could have just ate a whole plate of. There was a fair amount of seafood amongst the plate. Tip: Mondays are half price bottled wine, which was probably the best deal of the night. Now for my salad and bowl of soup I think was around $50+. I'm not afraid to spending money, but I can say you must be paying for the view, and I get it. But the overall price we paid. Idk. The service was a glaring issue, in which I think there were a total of maybe 10 tables that were taken in the whole restaurant. The server was nice enough, but not attentive at all. Now I'm not going to lie the birthday boy set up his dinner for 7pm on a Monday. We did not know that Ivars closed at 8....and no one even told us at any point. I get this was to be polite, but had we known we probably would have been out of there a lot earlier. We did end up leaving at 10 to 9, but probably could have been gone a lot earlier had anyone mentioned that they closed at 8 or we didn't have to wait for our bill for 20+ minutes. I did feel bad after knowing we stayed so late, but like I said there was a definite lack of communication. Also one last thing. Charging for the bread, I don't know if that's new, but seems rather silly to me. I feel like I'm being generous with the 4 star review, in actuality closer to 3.5, I just feel bad making them stay until after close.

It was served on a bed of rice with lots of veggies, sautéed nicely! Dinner was excellent and everyone in our party agreed their food was delicious. Atmosphere: Right on the water, can't get better than that! Nice views, it's got a cabin-y feeling inside. Rustic but without the smell of BEING rustic (you know what I'm talking about?). It's fancy enough for an intimate date, but not so much that it breaks the bank. Price: It is a little on the pricy side, but it depends on what you get. Steak, fish of the day, etc... it'll be more expensive. But you could get away with a 20$ plate. A decent meal will run you 40-50$ per person and then add in drinks. Do the math. Service: Our waiter was cool... he was the owner? Or co-owner? I don't remember what he said, but totally chill and gave us good recommendations. Overall: If I was going alone, I probably wouldn't come here, but with a group or a date it's a great place. A little on the pricy side, but... I always say, if it's worth it, I'll pay the price. This is where you get the super-nice meat and fish that supermarkets and big-box stores don't have. And their house-made fish dips are amazing. In long It's a little strip mall by the Speedway that would be kinda sleepy except for the drive-through coffee line constantly forming around the whole building. E&O have the end unit. You walk in to a shelf full of solid-value wines, mostly local, aimed to pair with whatever you might take home with you to cook. The ceilings are high, and the walls and floors are all spotless white. No decorations, very little merchandising, if any. There's a long butcher case on the left full of all kinds of crazy treats. Prawns the size of bratwursts. Steaks, roasts, different fish. They skip most of the stuff that supermarkets carry and focus only on more-specialty stuff. Their stock is either a nicer version or it's something that's unavailable elsewhere. You do pay for quality like this on some of the stuff, but if you're cooking a meal you're really looking forward to, the value makes it reasonable. Not everything is expensive, either. They had fresh lemons on the case for 40% less than the supermarket up the street. They had reds, whites, bubblies, and pinks in the wine section with every bottle under $20. And those fish dips, man. I'm surprised they don't sell out by afternoon every day. We had wild salmon and black cod dips before dinner last night, and both were fantastic. They're very well balanced, so maybe you could add hot sauce or fresh herbs to taste, but we've had them several times and never felt compelled to tune them up. The dudes behind the butcher case have decades of industry experience, and they couldn't be nicer, more patient, or more helpful. I love shopping here.

It asks what you want for your first side. It asks what you want for your 2nd side. I am guessing you get 2 sides with the rice/burgers. I was not real sure. So I asked for 2 sides of macaroni. It asks for mini or 2.50 for regular. I am thinking they will give you reg. side macaroni for 2.50 more. I go back and ask for mini. I do not need that much macaroni. Very disappointed to open the take out container to find zero rice and one small burger with an egg sitting in gravy and 2 sides of macaroni. They need to make this more clear. You only get 2 burgers and eggs if you add 2.50 (regular size). If you choose mini its not for the size of the sides but way less meat. I believe the photo and wording were very misleading. We also ordered Mochiko Chicken....Macaroni salad and broccoli, also a mini. I had it once before, somewhere else, and loved it. Ordered a Hawaiian Chicken BBQ plate, again mini and 2 sides. Did not like either of them. Hawaiian chicken BBQ was like a chicken thigh flattened with soy sauce maybe...no sweetness etc. They both kind of tasted the same. My 2 adult kids barely ate any of it. This was a real treat for us on a very sad day and it was not what we were expecting.....The macaroni salad was just ok...if I added salt. We order family style and my uncle orders us a feast with like 6 appetizers and like 10 entrees. But the food was totally lack luster. It was at the bare minimum level of acceptable. Every item was like this. I was totally shocked. I couldn't help but be totally disappointed and I was trying to remind myself to be grateful because I'm at a family event and it's a beautiful day and I have a meal that is being provided for me and I made the best of it. But seriously I cannot stress this enough; The flavor was slightly worse and more dull than Panda Express and the quality of the food was on par with Panda Express. I know my uncle paid an insane price for this dinner and I appreciate it and had fun but I can't quite shake the feeling that this place charges top tier pricing for Panda Express level of food. I don't recommend it and I won't be coming back.
