IVAR'S SEAFOOD BAR @ KIRKLAND Parking is pretty small as it's in a tiny parking lot, and I was having a time backing in with my Dad's truck. I'd recommend street parking if you have a big car. Stepping in, it's more of you order and then grab your food when it's ready. The tables were sticky, and the place was pretty packed and loud for a Thursday. The food came out fast, we ordered fish & chips, and it was pretty delicious, but on the drier side without their tartar sauce or any sauces to pair. I'd definitely recommend getting their sauces and their drinks, it's a must! Service was however fantastic, the worker was super kind and helped us show his favorites off the menu. Overall, i'd come back and bring my food to the beach!

Everything was on point today! Service, food, cleanliness of the restaurant. We usually order takeout but chose to dine in today. The bread bowl and chicken sandwich was especially delicious!

This location is right across Houghton Beach Park and conveniently has some parking spots along the street. I went on a Thursday night for a late dinner at 8PM and had no problems finding parking. There were folks trickling in and out the whole time, but no wait. Overall, my impression was that the value for seafood here is super solid, but nothing blew me away. I think this is a great option if you're local and looking for something fast, quality, and won't break the bank. Everything is fried fresh to order, but you definitely need the sauce for extra flavor. Alaskan Cod Fish 'n Chips: The breading was super light and because of how the fish were cut, it really felt like you were eating elevated fish fingers. The fish came out piping hot and fries were crispy, but still fluffy inside. Clam Chowder: Super generous with the amount of clams (though they were a bit chewy). Honestly might have been my favorite item with just how rich and creamy it was. Baby Shrimp x Scallop x Clam Strip Combo: I think I'd probably opt for some of the meatier options like the jumbo shrimp or oysters than these. Not because they were poorly cooked by any means, but they just felt less satisfying.

We had the shrimp and fries for a quick snack. The food was prepared quickly and met our expectations. We ate inside, there are plenty of clean tables and the staff were very helpful as well.

Great spot to stop by and have a nice lunch. I love that it's right across the lake and you have a bit of a view as well. Parking spots available outside but not sure how busy it can get during the summer since it didn't seem to have too many spots. You order at the counter and grab a table - recommend getting one by the window to see the lake! Lots of options to choose from. We got the fish burger which was really tasty, the halibut fish and chips which was also njce, and the large shrimp and chips - the shrimp was nice and plump but a little salty for my taste. Chips/fries were also good. You can go up next to the counter and dispense a couple types of tartar sauce/ketchup for your meal. You can also ask the counter for vinegar if you like it for your fries. Pricing is also reasonable, and a good pick for an easy lunch near the lake!

Always love it here! I absolutely love the fries because they arent too salty-and they are always fresh and crunchy! I got the Kids Meal chicken strips because I don't eat much-but either way, I had a great time. My family and I normally come at night or midafternoon so we get quick service! The staff are nice and gentle as well as funny! The place is quite chill close to closing time!

A quick stop to grab some fries on our way to Houghton Beach. I'm a fries snob and I judge a restaurant by how good their fries are. And let me tell you, I found the perfectly crisp and well done fries here! Not too thin, not too thick and the perfect golden color. They were very busy with tons of to-go orders, especially since the sun was out. This will be a definite stop for me on the way to the beach!

Unbelievable consistency!!!! everything is fresh on point and delicious the last time I came here. It was so amazing that I had to come back just to make sure it wasn't a fluke and it wasn't. This is just how they do it. If you're around here you gotta come here. This joint is the Ivars of Choice.

I didn't think I liked salmon or clam chowder or caesar salad that much till I went here. For fast food chowda', this place is really good. The Caesar salad was really fresh and creamy. The fries are crispy and nicely salted. The coleslaw is a bit too watery but nicely flavored. The salmon sandwich was filling thanks to the fluffy high quality ciabatta roll, but the salmon could have used a bit more seasoning. My FAVORITE thing here is the $2 sriracha cod bites. OMG, they are so good and only $2. The 2 times I have been here, the workers are very nice and friendly, and the place is very clean. The menu spans fried fish and chips, fish plates, chowders, salads, sandwiches, kids meals, and other snacks. They have a great place right across from the lake-front park, making it an ideal location for picnicking, people and sunset-watching.

If you're ever in need of a quick fix for fish and chips, this is your place. They offer different types of fish to choose from but my favourite on the menu is the classic fried cod. The chowders are all pretty good as well. The white clam chowder has bacon in it, but the smoked salmon one is a delight. Service is Chick-Fil-A level (perhaps even better) where they bring your order to you, even if you sit outside. Totally recommend sitting on the patio and soak in the views of the lake if the weather is nice outside.

Been wanting to try Ivar's, so I'm glad I tried the Kirkland location. I got the three piece fish and chips and it was good! Can tell that it was fresh and just came out of the kitchen. For the fish & chips and soft drink it was $15 which isn't bad. I would come back for sure!

Decent food, enjoyable bread bowl. . Didn't love oysters all that much, but no complaints in terms of freshness. Jumbo prawns were really good.

This is in a great place for getting food and eating by the water. With that said, their service needs some work. The restaurant has COVID guideline stickers on the ground and designated areas. If you are wanting to read through the menu and decide what to order, they make you stand and block the line to do so. There is no room to really let people go ahead of you and the employees are not very friendly when you are trying to decide. They pressure you. Tell you that you need to stand certain places in a rude tone and clearly do not care if you are trying to be considerate of others. If it was not for the poor service and attitudes, I would probably give a 3 stars. The food was on par and the order came out without a long wait.

We ordered some drinks and started trying different dishes. We got the calamari, oysters, paella, and crab cakes, and everything was really delicious. The calamari had a nice presentation and came with a sweet and sour sauce. My only small note was that there seemed to be more vegetables than calamari, but the flavor was still great. The oysters were packed with buttery garlic flavor, which was amazing. The paella was simple but incredibly tasty, and the clam was cooked perfectly. The crab cakes had a great crunch and came with a white sauce underneath that tied the whole dish together. Overall, RockCreek's happy hour was definitely worth checking out. While we appreciated the staff letting us know it would take 15 minutes to prepare, the flavor itself was fairly standard--just a classic lava cake with raspberry sauce and a truffle filling that felt a bit too rich to finish. This restaurant has been well received for both business dinners and personal dinners. They are old school charming Italian (not to be confused with American Italian). The service is often warm and charming. The restaurant is painted with warm tones and artworks of villas. Business partners from foreign countries often find this restaurant adorable. The menu has some hits-and-misses, but we have settled on our favorites by now. My hubby orders their lasagna as his favorite; he often orders it early since it's a longer time to cook. I recently visited with girlfriends, so extra desserts are involved. Lol. The Food: Salmone Piccata, $32 - 4.5 Stars Menu: Fresh salmon filet, capers, lemon, garlic, white wine sauce This is my standing order - a good size piece of salmon rests on veggies with a wonderful wine sauce. It's light, it's a repeatable dish, and I don't feel guilty afterwards. Tartufo Classico - 4.5 Stars Menu: Chocolate Gelato, zabaglione cream center, covered with crushed caramelized hazelnuts and cocoa powder Tiramisu - 4 Stars Menu: Ladyfinger biscuits, espresso coffee, mascarpone cheese, and whipped cream Curse my sweet tooth friend who convinced us to order not one but two desserts to share. The tartufo is more unique, and somewhat reminds me of a much better Ferrero Rocher. I particularly like the cool gelato. The tiramisu is of course the classic. If I am sharing with hubby, the tartufo is the easy win.

My wife had never been here, and for me it had been over 10 years, so we were looking forward to it. Unfortunately, it turned out to be disappointing. On the positive side, the bread was good, the burrata appetizer was tasty, and my Marsala chicken wasn't too bad. However, my wife's Linguine Tutta Mare was not good at all. The mussels tasted completely off and had a bad smell. I tried them myself and they were fishy, not how mussels are supposed to taste. We told our waiter, and he kind of brushed it off, saying they get their seafood in daily and that mussels can sometimes be "that way." He gave no apology and no real acknowledgment to the issue, but just cleared our plates and walked away. To top it all off, they were out of the Panna Cotta, which was the dessert I'd been looking forward to. The other options didn't appeal to us as much, but we settled for them anyway. Afterwards, we still felt a little hungry. For our first lunch date in a while, this was a real letdown. Definitely not worth $35 per person.

I forgot to take photos of my own item, which was the avocado toast. Overall my friends have decided that the food was average to good, and I have decided to rate it as a 3 star due to the pricey nature of many of the dishes that seemed to have relatively smaller quantity. My avocado toast (not pictured) had one piece of sourdough bread with a lot of avocado on it. I felt like the amount of avocado given was great, but for $21 I would honestly be expecting at least two pieces of bread, especially since there was so much avocado. Photos from previous customers also showed something else like arugula or what not next to the toast, while mine had nothing else, which meant it was only half a plate. I also tried the coffe cake and it tasted okay by itself, and the vanilla crème fraîche was pretty regular while the fruit compôte was too sour for my taste. I thoroughly enjoyed my drink, which was called "Le Pamplemousse" essentially meaning grapefruit in French. It didn't contain too much alcohol and had a good amount of fruit taste, making it a pleasant consumption experience. Most of my friends got either the duck has or the wild mushroom omelette. I tried a bit of the duck hash and didn't think that the potatoes, mushrooms, or eggs absorbed the duck confit flavor. Those that had the omelette unanimously agreed that it was only okay, with nothing much in addition to that comment. Even for a modest brunch, each one of us was spending close enough to $50 by having an entrée and a coffee. I feel like it's too exuberant for food that didn't match the price range. One advantage for this establishment was the location, because after my friends and I were done with brunch, we went to close to the lake to watch the lake.
