I gave this place five stars not because it's super classy or fancy but because it isn't fancy or super classy it's just a good local place to go and get some good home cooking. I was there yesterday with my sister, her boyfriend and myself and as I went to pay at the cashier there was a sign on the glass as you pay which states a 4% surcharge will be added to the bill if paying with a credit card. This pissed me off as I don't know any restaurants that do this practice and treat people paying with a card with this type of discriminatory practice. First of all it is illegal in the state of Florida to charge a surcharge for credit card users. I am upset about this as most people do not want to carry cash, and I am surprised that the restaurant wants to hold that much cash on hand as it makes them more apt to robbery. Why don't you just raise your prices a little to make up for the credit charge rather than ostracize your customers with this discriminatory practice. I will NOT use this rest Izzy, in all honesty my issue was not addressed. The credit card surcharge is not legal in Florida. You need to address this. read more

The service was good. The staff was friendly. This was my husband and I first time eating here. My husband wasn't impressed with the corn beef hash and my french toast wasn't very good. The portion size was to small. They might be better for lunch. We will have to try. read more

This is a wonderful restaurant for real food. I just recently ate there Friday night for the Fish Fry. It's all you can eat. The breaking is light and the fish wonderful. Breakfast is always good. Even my teenage granddaughter was impressed with her ham and cheese somuch ham. read more

I'm surprised by the other reviews. I love diner food and am always excited to try a new one. I had amazing service and great food when I was there. (I visited twice.) The place was very clean and my coffee never emptied. My only complaint is that the omelettes could use more cheese. Other than that, I'll definitely be back on my next visit to the area. read more

Cheapest ingredients, served by a waitress who was there but obviously didnt want to be. Warmed up, definitely not fresh. Homecooked, my foot! The biscuit and gravy for $6 was absolutely bland, cardboard with an undefined salty white sauce. Home fries were half cold and poorly fried. Came here after church on Sunday while we were in town for the weekend. I wanted something local and not the normal chain restaurant. Everyone's meal came out hot fresh and very delicious. Hadn't been in a while and I must say I had forgotten how much I liked Izzy's. service was good. Refills on drinks were good. I got an omelette which was rather large with a good portion of home-fries (server offered onions to be added to home-fries) also I got pancakes which are offered instead of toast (I love that idea) plus I got a side of bacon which was good and pretty generous for the price. I don't think they could have done any better with my food, there was no way I could finish it all My companions breakfast was also generous and he said was quite good. I ate at this diner recently while I was visiting family over the Thanksgiving holiday. They are regulars there and couldn't stop talking about the great service they received from one of the servers Kathey. So while I was in PAlm Bay they took me for breakfast and I have to say it was one of the greatest dining experiences I've had. Kathey was very polite and prompt. The first time I ate here, I was not impressed. I had scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon and biscuits with sausage gravy. Everything was decent except for the sausage gravy I had them put over my biscuits, was horrible. I said I wouldn't go back, but I decided to give then another chance when my family wanted to go there and the food was great. I really enjoyed it. The service was exceptional both times I've eaten there. I would give 5 stars, but I feel that's misleading because my first meal here was worth about a 2 star review. I saw Izzy`s Diner on MAPS when searching for breakfast. They showed up with 4.5 stars on 385 reviews, so we decided to try it out. I am retired and have over 30 years experience in the restaurant business. So here goes my review.....The service was great and the place looked clean. However, this was by far the worst breakfast we (my wife & I) ever had or seen. She ordered two eggs over easy with grits, toast and what was supposed to be homemade corned beef hash. The hash was burnt to a crisp, greasy and just plain bad. Grits were ok, but in the south they better be! I ordered two eggs scrambled well, a biscuit, bacon and home fries. Eggs were ok. Bacon was obviously leftover and reheated on the grill as it was over done and very hard. Home fries, which I was surprised to see on the menu, were under cooked potato cubes with the skin on, obviously they need a lesson on home fries, biscuit was of the frozen variety but good. Then they didn`t even give me butter for my biscuit, instead two little portion cups of freaking country crock! Nasty! And all that lousy food cost us $21!!, which we didn't finish. I wanted to complain but my wife deferred to being nice and just not ever coming back. Funny thing, our table gave me a partial view of the kitchen. Outstanding food for a great price. Not really sure what happened with the other person, but I go there all the time and it's always great. I have lived all over the United States, and I have to say when I moved to this area I'm glad that was the first meal I had. You get so much food for such a low price, and always have friendly staff. The establishment is a restaurant it's not a museum I expect some things to be messy temporarily while they're cleaning up after customers. Yet it has never been repulsive or disgusting. Just moved to Palm Bay and looked for a new breakfast restaurant. Found Izzys Diner on line. Might be the best breakfast ever. Great home cooking. Best gravy ever on the large country fried steak. Over medium eggs were perfectly white and cooked perfectly. Hash browns had a nice crust and flavorful, and of course, fresh squeezed oj. Definitely will become the new Sunday breakfast. read more

Once we ordered, I was surprised by the wait time and how short we had to wait. It's a diner, it is not a posh 5 star restaurant with linen napkins and all the fluff that goes with those stuffy places. We have never been displeased with the food or the service.
