Grilled biscuits and gravy with side of tater tots
    Carmen T.

Our go to Sunday morning breakfast, but today it looked and tasted extra good. Service was great as usual. Grilled biscuits and gravy with a side of tots and a Big Boy that includes eggs, bacon, sausage links, sausage patty and slice of ham with choice of toast or pancake and choice of home fries, grits or tots. Just over $26 with my coffee but $36 with tip. My husband and I share everything so we have sweet and savory. It always hits the spot!

Izzy's Diner-2598 Palm Bay Rd NE, Palm Bay, FL 32905 2 stars It's worth noting that this is a rereview. I had previously appraised this restaurant at two-stars. Lamentably, this occasion has produced the very same result. Frankly, there really is no acceptable excuse. Izzy could lay claim to the justification that she must keep prices low, owing in part to the small customer base, thereby also providing a defense for the use of cheaper ingredients. My incredulous retort is evinced by the simple fact that there are certainly other eateries that do infinitely more, despite equally low prices, coupled with a similarly low-income customer base. Again, there really is no acceptable excuse. The lone bright spot here is our ofisiant, Michelle. She made the top five service list, for the second quarter. I ordered: Kielbasa with eggs, a biscuit, home fries, and pancakes. Bluntly, this is just slop. It couldn't hope to appear appetizing, even if it were glazed in aspic. This was narrowly rescued from a swill alert, thanks entirely to the kielbasa. The Big Boy Says, "Sorry Izzy, the food is even worse than the last time."

Lovely place ! Nice and clean and not super busy when me and my friend went around 11:30 am . Our waitress Kathy was so quick go from table to table and not missing a thing. We split a sandwich and had the BEST TATOR TOTS EVER!!! . Prices are reasonable and they have some really good daily specials. I'm sure I will be back again to try something else off there menu soon .

Sausage and cheese omelette with hash browns and onions...and of course, a grilled biscuit!!

They have the hot griddles built into the tables so that you can make your own pancakes which is what they're known for. We didn't have to wait for a table and the service was pretty quick. I started with a blood orange mimosa (only $6.95) and it was a very generous size. For my entree, I got the 2-pancake stack breakfast combo. I opted for the lemon poppyseed pancakes (which the kitchen cooks), cheesy eggs, and bacon. My husband got the southern breakfast, and our friend got one of their scramble skillets. Everything was amazing!

I joke of course, hipster is the theme, but of course they welcome everyone. And everyone should come. Staff is great. The place is clean and we loved the decor. Mostly, we loved our dishes. I had the shaved ribeye. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Loved the roll and Cole slaw. Now if they had some creamy horseradish for it, homerun. All in all, an excellent Sammy. My wife had the pulled pork Bennie. I am not a fan of pulled pork, but I must admit my fork wandered over to the plate a few times. She loved the dish as well. It was so big, we took half home. And there is where I may have finished it without permission. LOL. I really wish Yelp had the half star option. 4 1/2 is more appropriate. Go here. You won't be disappointed.

Literally everything I've had at Keke's has been amazing. The French Toast is usually my go-to as they have perfected it. The pancakes and waffles are also top tier. I would consider myself picky about bacon, as some places miss the mark, but Keke's always gets it right. I would definitely recommend getting your name on the list, especially on weekends, as this is a popular place (rightfully so). Service is always wonderful and atmosphere feels like a diner in your home town. Comparable to First Watch, but I think Keke's takes the cake. I love Keke's and will keep coming back!

We are from the PNW, so we tend to be a bit coffee snobby. He also mentioned the waffle was perfectly crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and topped with very fresh fruit. I ordered the Keke's Special combo with two pieces of French toast, bacon, cheesy grits, and a Peach Bellini. Everything was absolutely delicious. The cheesy grits were by far the best I have had in several years. Our waitress Noelle was wonderful and kind! She did a great job. Great food, great coffee, and a fantastic start to the day. We would definitely come back. Sorry I forgot to get pictures, it was just too delicious to wait.

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more Most of my fellow Yelpers know if food were categorized by a genre, breakfast and brunch has a special place in my heart. Ergo, I am on the constant search for more breakfast and brunch places to add to my repertoire. With that in mind, I must stress that Historic Downtown Melbourne a.k.a. Melbourne Main Street has an amazing number of breakfast and brunch places. But the one I admire the most is The Roots Restaurant Tavern, which I will shorthand simply to The Roots for the remainder of this review. Though an address is provided, it must be stressed The Roots is a little "off the mainstreet" of Melbourne Main Street. Just west of the train tracks, the road splits in which the northernly direction is the continuation of New Haven Ave. or the actual Melbourne Main Street. The Roots is on the southern road, right next to The Iron Oak. Take note that The Roots is quite a cozy location. On the outside, The Roots has this look of an old saloon out in the wild west. There are a few tables and chairs for outdoor seating, excellent for people-viewing while eating your meal. Inside, The Roots looks delightfully tacky with all the knick-knacks hanging around and about on the walls. Imagine how Cracker Barrel used to look before the new CEO decided the decor should be more minimalist. But my statement on how The Roots looks small from the outside definitely shows when you are inside, too. The place is small. They definitely utilize the space as best they could, with large party seating being in the back for only one party. Still, take note of this limitation. My waitresses were very kind and attentive when serving me. But I am sure you all want to know about the food. The times I have eaten here, I have had three meals: The Eggs Benny Flight, and Pancake Flight, and Shrimp n' Grits. I will detail each in the pictures of food (if I have them), but I will say that everything here was delicious. My one lone criticism is that some of these flights are best enjoyed with another, not by yourself. On a sidenote, the restroom is clean and stocked, but there is only one and it is unisex. As I said earlier, The Roots is the best breakfast and brunch restaurant, well for me, in Historic Downtown Melbourne. So it is understandable why I am giving them a five-out-of-five stars for their review. Food, service, and ambiance are all excellent and the issues are way too minimal for me to consider them having any major affect. If you are ever going to eat at The Roots only once. My suggestion are the flights. Either eggs bennies, pancakes, or mimosas, you can't go wrong with any of them.
