Wow! My first time here and am impressed with the quality of the food. Friendly people, comfortable space, easy parking, and great food. I'll be back!

Their tamales are Americanized but absolutely delicious. The cheese dip that comes with the beef tamale platter is some of my favorite cheese dip in the state. I would remark on the rest of the food (that my friends rave about) but tamales are all I ever get since they're that solid. The service is always great and the ambiance is... well, it's family friendly. Lots of quirky paintings for sale hanging up.

Service was good but the vegan options didn't live up to what was advertised on the menu. I had the veggie burger and fries and it was delicious. And there was some pretty neat artwork on the walls and tables.

What a wonderful experience. The place reminds me of Lord of the Flies (in a good way) since the entire team from there servers to the cashier all appear to be High school kids! Rustic, family owned, unique home made feel to the food are key features. I've tried the Asian salad which is not bad and is fresh and aromatic. The vegetable Tamales are my favorite snack. The Pesto shrimp past is also delicious and filling (even the lunch portion) They have souvenirs you can buy I clouding honey pots, T shirts etc. Closed on Sunday evenings.

The service was good and the early dinner was also. I had the burger and chips, she had the salmon and we enjoyed, the cheese slice was expensive at $1.75. Over all nice. Not to busy. Thank you Amy for the great service.

That said, I feel inspired to take a minute out of my life and find out that this restaurant seems like a hidden gem. We've never heard of it before, and Tosca pointed it out out of the corner of our eyes as we were passing by. I think the restaurant looks very nice, Tosca pointed out that it is adorable and the decor is very relaxing. The service was phenomenal, and the people behind the counter are knowledgeable and very happy to help. Our server recommended the whipped carrot feta thingy, and it was superb. I had the sausage egg and cheese burrito, and it was spot on. Tosca got the El Goodo bowl, and while the ingredients were amazing and very nutrient dense, the flavor was amiss. This was remedied slightly by adding the roasted pineapple salsa from my burrito to her bowl. She also got the Go Greener drink, but it was lacking something as well. Not bad, it just needs a little zest or something. All in all, very good, and we will be back to try some of these other delicious looking items.

It's not, I learned, but studying the menu at City Silo you'd not be wrong to consider that, perhaps, there might be some buried in your food or green drink. The names given to menu items here are all playful riffs on the names given to THC and CBD products elsewhere in the country. Aside from the monikers, the menu here is a fever-dream of wonderfully healthful-sounding offerings and the physical space in which to enjoy it all is seriously perfection. It's immaculate and well-designed and just a charming place in which to spend an hour or two. Between two of us, a "Green Light Go" drink ($10.50 for a small), a "Super Classy" acai bowl ($13), and a "Kind Veggie Burrito" ($11) were consumed and we left feeling that this place practiced what they preached: clean eating, that makes you feel good about what you've consumed but also that you enjoyed consuming. My acai bowl was packed with so much good stuff (greek yogurt, almond butter, bananas, blueberries, strawberries, cashews, roasted pepitas, hemp seeds, cacao nibs, bee pollen, granola, and honey) that I wasn't even certain where the acai was. With an additional two outposts in Tennessee I can happily say that City Silo + Pantry would fit in perfectly in Northern California, perhaps in my neighborhood, where I'd be quite pleased to welcome them.

My salad was really good even if it was a little heavy on a mayo based dressing and the onion soup was very good. I was so excited about having nice fresh sushi because I live over in Diamondhead and the only thing we have available in town they should be considered bait. Ordered a nine piece chef's choice sashimi which should come with no rice just fish and a roll, can't even remember the name of it, but it was supposed to have smoked salmon, cream cheese, mango, and tempura shrimp. As I prefer fresh salmon, I asked if they could substitute the smoked and she told me it would be an up charge. I thought that was kind of funny because smoked salmon should probably be more expensive or equal in price with fresh salmon but whatever, I agreed to the up charge. The one time that I don't snap a picture of my beautiful Sushi, it arrives with no salmon at all on the roll. There seemed to be a little of a language barrier, so figured she thought I just wanted the salmon removed altogether. Not a huge deal, as long as I didn't get charged for it. Everything else looked really good even though they brought me Nigiri sushi, which includes a big glop of rice underneath it . I wasn't complaining, I was looking forward to a nice lunch with some good sushi grade fish. I tried to flag the server down and let her know that I was missing my salmon, but she was busy waiting on other tables, so I finally just went ahead and ate my lunch, avoiding the knobs of Sushi rice under was supposed to be sashimi (just sliced fish). Imagine my surprise when the bill showed up and I had a $4.95 up-charge for salmon - the salmon that never appeared on my roll. I brought this to the wait staff's attention and she turned around and walked back to the kitchen and spoke with the Sushi chef for a couple of minutes and then came back and said "well he said he put regular salmon on your roll, it was just cut very very thin." Nope, the only thing on top of that was mango sliced paper thin and some sauce. There was a little tempura shrimp on the inside and some cream cheese and greens but nothing else. The roll was already $15. I think so it was close to $20 roll for LESS product. Frustrating, especially when I specified fresh salmon ***replacing the smoked salmon***. Then she proceeded to tell me that she didn't know how to take it off the bill, even though I hadn't asked for it to be removed, but certainly expected it to be removed since I didn't get what I paid for. Finally, after I said "fine I'll just go ahead and pay for it, but I won't be back " she showed up with five one dollar bills , most likely out of her own tips . I felt a little bit bad but what they did was still unacceptable. They served me LESS, and expect me to pay for something I didn't receive . She was sweet and I really do think she did everything she thought she could do. She explained that the manager was out/off and she hadn't been trained on the register. I left her the five dollars that she "refunded" back and will this not set foot in this restaurant again. You should be able to communicate effectively with your customers so alteration or special requests can be executed. Disappointing

But the hours clashed with my work and then they shut down to relocate. Then, when a political figurehead caused nationwide ruckus, I carved out time to make my way here and find out what the fuss Gus. So, if you see bad reviews take them with a grain of salt as the keyboard warriors were politically profiling and posturing. Now. I am so glad that I did. The staff is attentive and caring. I've done brunch, lunch and snacks here. There are weekly/daily specials too. Let's start at the crux the namesake of this place...the croissant! Let me count the ways this bread can take on so many variations from sweet & savory to bun status. I've had butter, chocolate, almond, pistachio, plus several specialty flavors, can you say TURTLE? All wonderful. Sandwiches - Turkey Cheddar, ham/gruyere and my favorite quick breakfast jalapeño kolache. Breakfast standard eggs toast, and protein...while I don't really care for hash browns, they make them just right here tender and just crispy enough not burnt. My favorite meal is the sweet & spicy smash burger with a salad. With that said I have also tried the soups with my burger unfortunately, I am not a fan. They tend to be on the bland side for me. There are still items I must try (chicken salad, quiche etc.) Until then, happy eating.
