Who knew this gem was here? I ended up here by accident when several other restaurants I tried to go to work close. My friend had recommended Layla's once before and it seemed like a solid choice after many failed attempts at lunch. We arrived around 12:30 PM and the place was relatively empty. Within about 20 minutes, the entire place was full of hungry people from all walks of life. We started with hummus and pita and you could taste the freshness, it was so good! No pita was left untouched. I got a euro pizza and it was nothing like I've ever had before. The gyro meat was spot on and super flavorful. There was also so much cheese on that pizza I died and went to heaven. Definitely enough to share with two people, especially if you're getting an appetizer. We also tried a plate and a gyro sandwich. 10 out of 10 would I recommend stopping here. I highly recommend checking it out if you have not done so before. The food is amazing. read more

Layla's Market or Layla Gyro's & Pizzeria is located in a strip mall, next door to Hatley Family Dentistry with plenty of parking. Found this on Yelp and decided to stop by here for dinner. We ended up making our order to go and got: Combo Plate, $11.75 prior to tax- This meal comes with gyro and chicken that is over a bed of turmeric rice and a side of salad and tzatziki sauce. Also a pita bread. My husband really liked his meal and thought everything was perfectly cooked. The portion size was pretty generous and so it made for another meal. I didn't try any of his food except for the tzatziki sauce, which I really liked and kind of wished I had a side of that. Basil Cream Pasta, $11.75 prior to tax- This meal came with linguini pasta cooked in a basil cream sauce with mushrooms, spinach and artichokes. It also came with a pita bread and a salad (about 2 times the size of the side salad of the other meal). I know ordering pasta at a Mediterranean restaurant may not be the norm, but I really wanted to have noodles for dinner because of my birthday (noodles symbolize long life/ longevity). Honestly this pasta dish was very good. The noodles were cooked perfectly with a slight bite still left to it and I liked the amount of salad that came with this meal. This also was quite a generous portion and made for another meal. -------------------------- (Total= $26.09 after tax) We made our order in person and wait time was not very long, which was maybe 15 minutes. But we did wait longer to make our order but it seemed that the restaurant was short staffed. Food was very good with excellent portion sizes. Price wise was pretty reasonable. I had been to this restaurant twice in last 2 years when i traveled through Little Rock. The place has good fresh food and I highly recommend their meat plates with delicious rice and kebabs. We tried their appetizer platter with Baba Gounush, Hummus etc. The Baba Gounush was definitely standout. I was a big big fan of their stewed goat meat rice plate last time but it wasn't part of their menu now. I got lamb plate entree and loved the rice and veggies but not lamb. The lamb pieces were very small and not the kebabs I was expecting. It was almost minced and that wasn't fresh meat. I love Layla's. Period. They have awesome Greek and Mediterranean classics. We usually get a falafel platter or a veggie platter. Their hummus, babaganoush, tabbouleh, and falafel are very yummy. We love their gyro meat too, and their Mediterranean Burger has that gyro meat taste with hummus on top. Baklava is super pistachio-y which is perfect. I had time to spare during my visit to Little Rock so I figured i would search up what places the locals seemed to enjoy eating. This restaurant came up during my research and since I enjoy Mediterranean food, I decided to give it a try. Upon arrival, i found the place to be quite busy considering it was past the normal lunch rush hours but there was no issue getting me a table. After looking over the menu, I decided to try out the Combo Plate which came with Gyro meat, Chicken and Rice, a small salad, and pita bread. The food came out incredibly quick and I dug right in. It was my first time trying the turmeric rice and although it took me a little time to warm up to the taste, I found that I actually really liked it. There was a ton of Gyro meat that came with the food so I ended up eating it with the pita and salad mixed. The tzatziki sauce tasted fresh and paired with all the foods perfectly. All in all, I am really glad to have found this hidden gem of a restaurant during my visit. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive to needs but also served up some amazing food. Layla's is and has been one of the most reliable Little Rock restaurants for years. I've been many times, but it's been a while I was last there before today. The people working there are incredibly friendly and hospitable. We got a calzone and a gyro pizza. They were incredible. The calzone was the fluffiest, cheesyest, mouth watering calzone I've ever had. Cooked to perfection, spices on top, came with marinara, and the best taziki sauce in the Rock. The pizza is a Mediterranean style smaller size, but packed with delicious gyro meat, spinach, and grilled onions. Slices that were soft enough to fold but had a tasty crispy crust to dip. Those 2 entrees plus to drinks came to 25 dollars, an excellent price.The strip mall employees are blessed to be flanked by Layla's and El Palenque. read more

Came in for comfort food! Left with a very generous portion of a gyro sandwich. My only complaint is that they sparingly applied the delicious tzatziki onto the gyro. I also had the lentil soup (not as good as some homemade ones) that satisfied that comfort food need. I saw that they have mansaf, so I will actually be coming back for that! I landed at Little Rock airport and searched for halal: this place came up however I am not sure what on their menu is actually halal aside from gyro meat since it's not advertised elsewhere. I arrive there with my 1 year old and husband and the waitress comes over to take our drink order. We just sat down and said we didn't want to order drinks at that time. Then my husband asks for a water and she makes a face. No words, just a rude facial expression. Then a few minutes later, the person who I presume is the owner comes over to ask about drinks again and we decide to order soda. He notices I pulled up an extra chair next to me and my daughter to keep my diaper bag. He asks me to move my diaper bag, doesn't wait for me to respond and then moves it over to the opposite side of the table to another chair. All of this, while my husband just asked a question that the owner decided to ignore. As a mother, my diaper bag is next to me for easy access and convenience. There was no reason to move my belongings, the restaurant was also empty at the time. My daughter starts crying (she's only a year old mind you) and I take her outside to comfort her. My husband follows a few minutes later and tells the owner as he is heading out that we will come back at a better time. The owner says "Yes, brother please" with an annoyed look on his face. I did not eat here, I did not even order here. I will never ever spend a cent of money in a space where there is this much hostility. All of this happened in a span of 5-10 minutes. They created a very hostile environment with intense discomfort. The food in all of the reviews looks mediocre anyhow. read more

Great little hole in the wall Mediterranean food. I had the Gyro sandwich with a side of fries and lemonade for about $12 and hubby had the Gyro plate with salad and grilled onions and lemonade $13.25. There was so much Gyro on my sandwich, I had to eat lots with a fork before I could close it up and eat it. I should have passed on the fries since it was too much to eat but the fries were great. read more

My goodness what a treasure! What a find! Thank you Yelp community for this gem! After a not that good Mexican place experience from yelp I was wary of this lunch spot but we were driving thru little rock n yelped this bc we haven't had Greek or Mediterranean on our whole trip. We were gonna call in our order but couldnt decide what to get until we got there. Everything on the menu looked good. I was banking on yelp reviews saying huge portions bc we are a big family. We saw people ordering huge calzones n was tempted but we knew our kids would like the pizza n gyros. So we got a gyro, falafel, beef gyro, chicken pizza, kifta plate n tilapia plate sounded good. They were so nice n packaged our food to go perfectly n wow true to the reviews such large portions! The gyro could split into 3 gyros if I had 2 more pitas. I loved my tilapia plate. So tasty. The rice n veggies were delish. Salad lemony. Lots of sauce on the side. The kifta was huge. My grown son who eats alot couldn't even finish it! It was so yummy too! The gyro meat was tender n delicious. The pizza was big definitely shareable. The chicken had hint of curry n perfect spices. So good. The falafel was ok tho. Had better but wow the rest of the stuff was delish I don't always give 5 stars at all bc we r picky. I'm planning a brief visit back to LR (where I lived for 10 years) and it took my mind back to Layla's. I ate here every week or two for awhile, and for good reason. There's not a dud on the menu, and the prices are really reasonable. Unless things have changed in the past few years, they have hands-down the best gyro in Little Rock. I remember at least one occasion where they were offering spicy gyro meat. It was great--spicy enough for a little eye-watering but still flavorful. Because though a gyro plate with an extra pita (because so much meat) is a great basic order, one must not ignore the other dishes that can include gyro meat. The yogurt plate is a favorite of mine--gyro or chicken over rice with a yogurt broth that the rice can soak up. If I'm thinking about things to miss about Little Rock it's a single item that stands out. And please understand I didn't move to some Siberian colony with no good food. I usually got gyro but the chicken schwarma is no joke. Similarly transcendent is the goat plate, with bone-in goat and a rich goat broth. Also there's pizza and calzones, which are delicious, but it's hard to resist the Mediterranean side of the menu. There's several other items--the veggie plate and the kefta come to mind--that I could wax equally poetic about. The point is that the food is awesome. The atmosphere is hole-in-the-wall but in a pleasant way. The owner makes a point to say hi to the regulars. This is a place I'm glad to see successful. read more

I'm a regular here because I love it so much. Gyro salad is my favorite. The Syrian Salad and Spinach Salad are both excellent as well. Baba Ghannouj and Hummus are always fresh and delicious. Roasted Garlic Spinach Pizza with gyro is also very yummy. I highly recommend Layla's. read more

The 5 stars are based purely on the quality of the food. The restaurant was a little tight in that our 7 top felt a little like we were intruding on other guests table space. Parking was ample. The staff were friendly, fast, and available when needed. To the 5 stars: Every plate of food was hulking mass of pastas, meats, and rice. I asked the proprietor to recommend something and I had the Yogurt Plate based on his advice. It was a euphoric experience. It was gyro meat over rice smothered in a yogurt broth with a side of extra broth. I don't like yogurt and I am not a fan of broth as a meal item but the yogurt broth was indescribably good. The pasta plate that a few of my friends had was again a mountain of food. Gyro meat over fettuccine like pasta covered in that divine yogurt broth. They, like myself, ate quite a bit more than the body thought capable. I had neither the will or physical ability to try the Baklava but the two that were able to carry I said that it was very good. If this yogurt broth exists at other Mediterranean restaurants I hate that I have overlooked it all these years. I will be on the lookout for it from now on. Well done! read more

Upon coming outside I could see where I was at it almost looked like I was parked and he didn't see me. Anyway. I backed in to another spot. Gave the guy a thumbs up and when he came in I said sorry for beeping I didn't see the open spot behind me. I assume he is part of the family that runs this establishment and he paid for my meal without me knowing. I tried to order a soda so I could pass this along in tip form since I do not carry cash, but they insisted I catch them next time. They are genuine and make great food.
