Fancypants is in East Nashville on Dickerson Pike, leans into a playful "fine dining that's fun" identity, comes from the team behind Butcher & Bee/Redheaded Stranger, and is known for a prix-fixe, vegetable-forward approach in a bold, circus-inspired, moody interior. My buddy and I were in Nashville doing what two grown men on a trip are supposed to do: make questionable decisions with confidence and eat somewhere with a name like Fancy Pants. And let me say this first: the people here are absolute stars. The host, waitress, and staff were all incredibly kind, warm, attentive, and genuinely cared. Top-tier hospitality. The kind of team that makes you want to succeed on their behalf. If Yelp had a category for emotional intelligence, these folks are running a solid 10/10. Now, the restaurant itself? Super cool space. Very stylish, very theatrical, very "someone here definitely owns velvet." It has that playful, moody, creative East Nashville energy where you walk in and immediately think, "Ohhh, this place has a personality." And it does. A lot of it. Then the food arrived. My buddy and I ordered the steak, and unfortunately... it was not giving off "fancy." Visually, everything looked creative and promising. But flavor-wise? I've had more exciting bites out of a Costco shipping box. The food, sadly, was about a 5/10 for us. Not offensive. Not unforgettable. Just... confusingly bland. Like the menu went to art school and the taste buds stayed home. What makes this review hard to write is that the service was so good. Truly. These are good people. Great people, even. The kind of staff that makes you want to say, "No, no, it's not you, it's... whatever happened in that kitchen." And finally, now my buddy and I know why it's called Fancy Pants. Because the next morning? Let's just say the pants were no longer fancy. They were emergency-response pants. They were "cancel the morning plans and stay close to the hotel bathroom" pants. They were "one cowboy, one porcelain rodeo" pants. So in summary: Amazing staff. Cool space. Great vibe. But the steak tasted like cardboard wearing a tuxedo, and the next morning my stomach filed a formal complaint. Would I come back? Maybe for a drink and to hang out with the lovely staff. Would I order the steak again? Absolutely not.

Loved the welcome cocktail at arrival! The place is decorated in a very fun, eclectic way, which definitely matches the name of the place. We decided to get three courses for each of us, and it was plenty of food! We left stuffed. We had to order their cheesecake because it looks iconic, but had to have it to go. We asked if they had any plastic forks for it, and the server came back with a tiny metal spoon and say we could take it. So nice! Will definitely be returning!

The SERVICE The FOOD the EXPERIENCE!! every single person on staff was amazing. they each brought courses out and explained in detail each of them. We did the full steak dinner, where they curate your meal for you and it was awesome. The ambience was fancy but also chill and fun! The lights were very pretty and they were playing music that was actually good and not too loud and not too quiet. Once again, I would like to say the service was impeccable.

Absolutely blown away by this fresh spot ! Everything was phenomenal from the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left. Things got started with a complimentary cocktail at the host stand. Our server Max gave us phenomenal recs and was extremely knowledgeable about the menu. Jaccob recommended some fantastic cocktails and really made the experience one of a kind. The restaurant itself is absolutely stunning and feels very approachable while still being fine dining. Such a unique and fun experience!!

Upon arrival we were offered punch. I thought that this was such a fun way to greet guests. The cocktails were carefully crafted. The food was presented beautifully and was very tasty. The interior is very sexy with the open kitchen concept and woodfired grill.

I love that Fancypants offers fine dining in a non-pretentious environment! My husband and I came here for a date night, and we had the best time. We did the three course tasting menu and were impressed with all of the options. The presentation was so fun and creative, and there were surprises throughout the meal. My husband's cocktail looked delicious, and I really enjoyed my mocktail! We sat at the bar and had wonderful service. The parking lot was full, but we were able to find street parking behind the building.

Welcome cocktail - fall 2025. Mix of rum, hibiscus, and a splash of soda water.

Fancypants impressed me, and I have too many good things to say about it. But I will try my best with this review. Fancy Pants was a great choice for my birthday dinner. It's been bookmarked on my "to try" list for a while. It's fine dining, but it doesn't feel stuffy at all. More like a fun East Nashville bar where you can relax and still get food that tastes like someone in the kitchen is showing off. I went with three friends, and we had the chef's steak dinner. It's a porterhouse plus whatever dishes the kitchen wants to send out for $125 a person. I hesitated at the price for a second, but by the end, I was so full I couldn't imagine eating anything else. For what you get, the value is solid. They ended up bringing nine dishes before the steak even came out of the kitchen. The house focaccia (which is free) was everything you want in bread service. The deviled eggs were soaked in soy and had this rich, salty flavor with a yolk that was runny. The chicken was great and came with a sauce I kept dragging bites through. The Hiramasa crudo was clean and bright. I could have eaten a whole plate of the honey squash. And the off-menu mushroom dish was one of my favorites from the entire meal. Service was warm and easy; everyone we talked to had great energy. We sat on the patio, which was heated, and the blanket on the chair was more than enough to keep me comfortable on a late November evening in Nashville. We ended with the birthday cheesecake (of course), which is as festive as you might imagine. Their menu changes with the seasons, which means it's fresh. I look forward to going back and trying new things, plus any old favorites if they stick around. It made for a great birthday dinner, but I'd happily go back on a random weeknight too. Plus, I'm told you can go on Sunday's and everything is al-la carte. So if the higher price point is keeping you away, you can control more of your destiny with that experience.

Fancy Pants in Nashville is truly a vibe. From the moment you walk in, the ambience is absolutely beautiful--stylish, warm, and perfectly set for a fun yet elevated dining experience. The staff is incredibly attentive and welcoming, making sure every detail is taken care of without ever feeling overbearing. The food is where Fancy Pants really shines. Each dish is elevated, creative, and a little eccentric in the best way possible--bold flavors, thoughtful presentation, and clearly made with care. You can tell a lot of intention goes into every plate. Add in great music and an effortlessly good vibe throughout the space, and it's the kind of place you want to linger, enjoy every moment, and already plan your next visit. Fancy Pants is the perfect spot for great food, great energy, and an overall memorable experience.

Mind blown!!! The food is amazing. We did the steak dinner for 2, that comes with about 6 other dishes. The flavors, the combination of ingredients from other parts of the world - wow. Adding pictures to all we ordered, one dish was better than the other. All memorable. We got lucky given that we didn't have a reservation, we were welcomed with a fantastic Homemade punch and Tiernan was our server. He was phenomenal, so knowledgeable of the food, drinks and his recommendations were spot on. The restaurant has lots of Christmas decor, and it made it for a nice and cozy atmosphere. We will def go back next time we visit Nashville.

if you haven't tried this place in Nashville that opened apparently in 2024, please try it. It's just awesome. Celebrated Nandy's birthday here (part one of his celebratory dinners) and they indeed know how to make it special. I lost count of the number of people who wished him a happy birthday. Our seating was perfect where we got to see the open fire cooking. And they of course brought the dessert lit in candle, and also gave a card signed by all staff! The food was delicious, it's a rotating menu. Nandy loved every single one of the 6 items we ordered in their set menu. Their cocktails were amazing. I had the old fashioned and something else similar tbat the waitress suggested. Customer service is exceptional. The cesar salad is the best jve tasted in my entire life. Nandy said the same about the mushroom as well. I also loved the vodka pasta. Overall we are truly grateful for such a memorable birthday experience

We went to Fancypants to celebrate my husbands new certification at work and quickly found a new favorite spot in Nashville. From the moment we walked in, the service was spectacular. The hostess was fun and inviting and our waiter was top notch. Not only did he check in on us frequently, he was also our bartender and was up to creating any drink we asked for, even ones not on the menu. Plus, the holiday decorations were still up and the room felt like I was in Candyland, it was so festive and cute. As a vegetarian, this place was a dream. Many options to chose from and all absolutely mouthwatering. We both asked our waiter to curate our three plates, giving our likes and dietary restrictions and the kitchen delivered. Not only was the food amazing, there was a lot of it. Many restaurants with a hefty price tag will leave you wanting, but not fancypants. We left absolutely stuffed and satisfied. Honestly, exactly what I expected from the owner of Butcher and Bee and Redheaded stranger, 2 other nashville favorites of mine. We will absolutely be back, next time with more people so they can all experience this place as well.

We went to Fancypants tonight for my birthday as I had heard such good things about it. Full disclaimer, if I knew that it was also owned by the same folks that own Butcher and Bee, I would have passed. (Story for a different review). The staff was amazing, a total 10/10. The welcome drink was nice, and the ambiance was the best part. Great music, friendly staff, cool vibes. That's kind of where the positives end. The food was so incredibly disappointing. The one dish that I enjoyed (besides the bread) was the broccolini that came with the steak and the fingerling potatoes. Unfortunately every item that we had was just mid. And the price for what we received was pretty hefty. We knew going into it that it would be expensive and were ok with it, but it stinks to pay so much money do food that no one in our party enjoyed. It pains me to leave this review because I so enjoyed the staff and they did the sweetest little touches for my birthday. I'm a little sad to leave disappointed, hungry and $360 broker. Positive note- free three hour parking

We got a reservation for Fancypants on a Friday night. When we walked in there were complimentary mini cocktails which was a nice surprise. I want to start out by saying overall this restaurant is fun to try once for the experience. The inside is really nicely put together. I loved the colorscheme and "maximalist" feel. The tables are large and great for groups. We sat right in front of the kitchen and liked watching them cook. We started with the cavier dip which was really good! It was served casually with chips which added the perfect about of crisp and saltiness. The complimentary savory cookies were so good and so fun. On top of that, each table gets complimentary bread- which oculd possibly be some of the best bread. The bottle of wine we ordered was amazing. It was $150 so it better be amazing but it truly was one of the better wines Ive had. I opted out from getting the steak because of the pricing, but honestly watching it go by it looked like it might be worth it. We ended up doing family style. My friend who is (not deadly) allergic to peanuts ordered the salad and asked if they could skip the peanuts. Our waitress told us she could not do that. When my salad came out the peanuts were just on top- not mixed into a dressing or anything- so my question is how could you not just omit the peanuts for someone with an allergy? She didnt miss out too much though, the salad was not very flavor packed. The corn and clam ravioli was interesting. It was sweet from the corn, but savory and seafood-y from the clams. The sauce was a light creamy sauce that didn't add too much but kept it nice and simple. The cold noodle dish was a heftier portion. It was slightly spicy but the sauce didn't stick very well on to the noodles. The sticky short ribs were my favorite of the night. They were flavorful and tender, but a small portion. A fan favorite from the table was the vodka shells. Can't go wrong with this pasta dish. We ordered the cheesecake of course as you see on instragram and in reviews. I personally, thought it was too sweet but the texture was on point. It really does taste like birthday cake cheesecake so if thats your kinda thing you will love it. We had gone to butcher and bee previously and they had given us coupons to use here as a promotion. 3 of us had ocupons at a 5 person table, we were told we could only use one coupon per table. On the coupon it says "one coupon per visit" which I guess we assumed was per a person. I think the experience here is fun if you are prepared to spend a chunk of money. I wasn't blown away by any of the main dishes, if anything the wine and the appetizers were where I enjoyed my dinner the most.

Such a variety between the nacho and parm/truffle (which is always my go to with lemon aioli) were our favorite. The pickle flavored fries were also good. Not a sour taste it was more of an herb taste maybe like the pickling spices. We all loved our dishes. The steak were properly cooked, great cuts, hearty portions, and seasoned just right to let the meat shine. My brick chicken was huge, tender, and juicy. The delicious lemon notes came through and the au jus is velvety, creamy, and full of flavor . The bed of potatoes were like clouds of creamy, buttery goodness. I didn't want my bite to end but knew I had another ahead. The mac and cheese was delicious. The noodles still had a light chew and the cheese choice was excellent. It wasn't a heavy carb on the tummy. Brussel sprouts were out of this world. The char is everything to me. A little sweet hint and lime coming in the end to refresh the palette again. I'd go back solely for these. Creamed spinach was also fabulous. The crispy onions on top is brilliant texture. There is a perfect veggie/cheese ratio. The presentation of the smores dessert was fun and intriguing. All of the chocolate components were airy , not extremely sweet. The marshmallow ice cream needs to be sold everywhere. There just aren't enough good things I can say.

It's my last night in Nashville so I want to go to a bang zoom restaurant. A few of my co workers have said to me: Mr Bill, we see every night you're going out to some amazing spots. Mind if we tag along? Sure, the rules are to keep your fork outta my plate when we sit down. Deal? The restaurant is very large, we're shown to our table. Set in the middle of the dining room and facing the bar. The bar can seat at least 25 people, the restaurant is set up for fun. To get our party started, I ordered a well crafted cocktail: Tea'd Up Old Fashioned Made with Bourbon, Black Tea and House Barrel Aged Bitters. Funky?? Oh yeah I'm with a bunch of Military Veterans and they're telling me their crazy stories. I'm sippin' my Old Fashioned and taking it all in, we need to bond over drinks and crazy things we all drank overseas. As an adult, I can appreciate my Nashville TN Old Fashioned with Black Tea. While we're talking, our waitress drops off a plate of homemade biscuits. The biscuits are fire! Buttery, flakey and moist, The Southern Steak & Oyster can make a damn good biscuit. Next, my Gumbo comes to me. The first taste I can tell this is. chef'd up dish. Better than anything I had in New Orleans. This gumbo is filled with Andouille, Crawfish, Shrimp and Fried Okra. Very flavorful indeed. My last entree in Nashville will be Fish 'N Grits. Fresh fish topped with Spicy Tasso Ham over Sweet Potato Grits and Bacon Braised Cabbage. This is a flavorful dish, the grits are very creamy and the cook on the fish was spot on. We had a great night at The Southern Steak & Oyster, it was a pleasure to dine at your restaurant.

Upon his return he was focused on everything but the 5 of us in the place until we finally had to ask to get service. The other visit everyone helped me but the actual server. Maybe this is a staffing problem, I don't know but being stuck for 20 minutes to order another drink with my meal is not acceptable. Although they had that check in my hand in under a minute and in under another minute to process. Again, super nicer people, but kind of oblivious. 2) Now let's talk about the kitchen. And I'm adding some input from the other diners because we all sat there waiting. - flavors are great, but the salt and spice level is overboard. I had the mushroom appetizer and nearly choked/coughed to death. I like heat but this was raw spice that overpowered the dish. And the salt about made my feet swell into balloons. Such a shame because the idea is great just poor execution - deviled eggs. Pass - BBQ Shrimp, sort of like the mushrooms right profile but overpowering - gumbo. Two other people had the gumbo and when I asked they said that too is just over spiced I want to like this place, but probably my last visit unless I just come for oysters. Sorry

I love the Finch every time I go. I am sat fairly quickly every time I come in. The atmosphere overall was great, I did get moved due to a corporate group volume in the dining area. But was happy to be able to keep my server! He was wonderful. I have tried a few things and I forgot a picture because I was hungry. lol the volcano shrimp was definitely worth it and the happy hour is a great time to try it out. The buffalo chicken egg rolls were good as well just wish it was hotter. So I got buffalo sauce on the side. I did order a mini martini lemon drop. $7 and it was def a nice drink for the cost and I felt it I've also like the martini flight , you can't go wrong and my fav is the cosmo , lemon drop & espresso! It comes out very cute as well. Enjoy!

So many great things about The Finch. My server, Savanna, was EXCEPTIONAL, like AMAZING. She was…read morebright, helpful, and attentive to the max, but not in an annoying way. She even went out of her way to get me a drink that had fallen off the menu a few weeks prior, a delightful cucumber spritz. The ambiance is awesome. As others have said, music isn't too loud, just pleasant in the background, so it would be ideal for having a conversation. The space is open, bright, light-filled, and stylish. Parking is in a private lot behind the restaurant and they validate parking for up to two and a half hours. I wish I could rave the same way about the food. While the cocktails were refreshing and they had a cocktail for every palate, my steak and eggs was bland. It came out a little closer to rare than medium, but I can live with that. But I am not sure I detected a speck of salt or pepper. The steak was at least tender and the sunny side up eggs were cooked appropriately. The potatoes were dry. And I did have the wagyu meatball appetizer. It's a large portion, so easily shared amongst two or three people. Cheesy and saucy with a little spice. The focaccia could've been toasted a little more. I considered the short rib hash, but my server told me it could be salty and hit or miss (I appreciate her honesty and she 100 percent should be praised for it). I came during brunch (even on a weekday). They also serve French toast, desserts, oysters, burrata, potstickers and tuna tartare, salads, burgers and other sandwiches. If you come for lunch or dinner, you can also get grilled salmon, blackened redfish, shrimp and grits, pastas (cajun chicken, pappardelle bolognese, tortellini) as well as various cuts of steak. It's conveniently located right across from the Frist Museum and is part of the Union Station Hotel. I would try this place again for dinner, but would skip the brunch. And again, Savanna was top tier! She deserves all the flowers!
