Im so happy with the decision I made to go with J and B!! They did a great job!!! Jeff and his crew are great people!! Highly recommend Jeff and his crew. In December 2019 I decided to do solar which included a new roof. I went with the solar company and during the roof install, 5 layers came off before the new roof was installed. It left a gap between the roof and siding. I called Jeff (3 years later) who came and repaired the siding to meet with the roof free of charge. Im very happy with his company and highly once again recommend his services. My only downfall is not using his company for my roof. read more

Update on my review: No end of problems with the vinyl siding job J&B Home Improvements did. First noticed waviness & bubbling 3 months after install. Numerous calls later & they sent a couple workers..who took out a couple panels & nailed them back. . Didn't help..waviness never went away. Then a piece came off ..they first tried blaming other workers...they eventually came to fix..however latest problem hole developed in J channel. Then I noticed that it's not secured on side of J channel w hole & siding can easily blow away with wind. I told them it's bigger problem & its loose! They wanted $1,000 to fix after I paid $12,500 in full day of completion Jan 2019. Jeff Bershad wrote 10 years guaranteed on all labor siding work...so I guess this guarantee worth nothing. When they found out it's bigger problem than just hole in J channel, they said have someone else fix it! I got other opinions from other siding experts & they don't want to touch it because it's J&B responsibility...& they also say it's worst siding job they ever seen. Also that it will blow away with windstorm. Needless to say, I've had to file complaints with Consumers Affairs & BBB ..whom J&B Home Improvements has "F" rating. We just had our window replacement by J& B and we are very happy with this company, Jeff and his crew were very pleasant to work with, they attended and answered all our concerns. Before we choose J&B we had different appraisal including BJ's, home depot, and Windows by Andersen, they are all comparable in prices, the highest estimate was by Andersen and the representative, stayed for 3 hrs. explaining about window's which we like but too long of a presentation. I was quite nervous making the decision but Jeff explained in a short and understandable manner. My coworker recommended him to us prior to making our decision. Jeff told us that due to pandemic it will take a while for the windows to come. I was getting concerned for the long wait since October but when we called they always reassured us that the delay is because of the covid. It only took them one day to complete the job, they also cleaned afterwards, the crew was respectful they changed two bay windows, side window and kitchen window for us. They also took out the bars and placed them back. They also added an extention wood panel to show our plants in the front bay window without extra charge. The only thing is the screen was not properly placed but one of the crew noticed it and told Jeff so he came back and measured again and reassured us that it will be taken care of . I will update my review on this once the screen is replaced. I know it's nerve wracking to choose a great company especially it you're paying a lot but be reassured that J&B is a good company it is family owned, so you don't have to talk to different people. We gave a deposit in the beginning and the rest of the payment in bank check. We are actually recommending J&B to my daughter who needs window replacement as well. I call J&B Home Improvements for an estimate because they claimed they would be able to do my flat roof & my siding over at the same time. I really wanted a company that would commit to taking on both tasks together. The owner/ salesperson Jeffrey comes over, he comes across as a kind gentle patience guy on first meeting. First missed warning flag was he only accepts cash payments. Anyways we strike a deal, I sign on the dotted line. The roofers he sent over where a bunch of young inexperienced kids. Totally disrespected my home, once I climbed the ladder to the roof while they were working, I witnessed all their lunch waste and empty beer bottles in the holes of my roof, that they were not trying to cover with new wood either. Being faced with nasty rain forecasted in the next day or two, I just wanted the job done. So I bit my tongue and just baby sit these kids till they were done. Shotty roofing job at best. First rain fall that week, the roof was leaking. I called and texted Jeffrey feverishly numerous times. He finally sent the young kid back to take a look, of course when it wasn't raining, who claimed not to know what to do since it wasn't leaking at the moment. Again after several texts and phone calls that Jeffrey ignored, I ended up getting a local roofer to help me solve the problem. 90% of J&B's workers did not speak a word of English. Huge problem for me. Any issues I would have to call Jeffrey and wait for hours for him to call me Back, if he did. Upon going over the exact details of the job, it was set in stone I was to get all siding pieces to be one color. Once the siding crew starts working on my house, I noticed they are installing the J channels around the windows they are white. When they are installing the Corner moldings, they are white. Again I can't really communicate with all the non English speaking workers. Again I call and text Jeffrey who took hours to return my calls, all while the workers continued to install the wrong color pieces on my house. By time Jeffrey returns my calls and says "he will be right there" was hours. When Jeffrey arrives at first he tries to persuade me that it looks nice and to just leave it. I told him not happening. He then leaves, stomping his feet and mumbling under his breath, and returns after an hour with the right color pieces. This whole time the siding crew never stops working, and when they have the right color pieces in their hands, only then do they decide to start ripping apart the siding that is already nailed to my house, to somehow rig the new pieces into place using finishing nails and what not, WHICH ALOT OF IT ended up getting loose with the first wind storm, and Jeffrey sent he crew back to re nail the pieces back into place. The whole job is nearly half assed to say the least. Two other houses on my block signed up for siding at the same time as me. Nothing but complaints from their work as well. Stay far away, Jeffrey is a fast talker, promises you the world, when he comes to collect the cash payment, he likes to show up in his convertible Bentley and is real fast and pushy. Nothing short of a con artist. Till this day, he has yet to return my last 25 callls and texts. The receptionist who answers the office phone is zero help at all and has an Attitude. read more

You would never know they were even here, other than the fact that I now have a new roof. They do amazing work and I highly recommend them to anyone needing their services. J&B put a front window in for me. I was not home at the time. My son was hone. When I came home the crew had finished and gone but they didn't clean up. They did come back to clean the next day after I complained. The corners of inside trim are mitered poorly and do not meet. So they put white caulking in to cover it up. The aluminum bend on the outside is not leve,l and worst of all three of the four window panels are very diffucult to lock. I have called 6 times now and Jeffrey does not return my calls. read more

On May 25, 2015, I contracted with J & B Home Improvements, to re-pitch the cement on my front porch, install new molding around my front entry door and to purchase and install a new security door (including removal of the old security door). The job estimate was $4,900.00, of which $1,800.00 was for the security door and installation. I dealt directly with the company owner Jeff Bershad. I was pleased with the cement work however the molding work and security door installation was not acceptable. The security door frequently sticks. There is exposed wood on the upper part of the door. It is not properly secured to the house on the right hand side. There is a wide gap between the door and the house that is exposed to the outside elements. I called J & B with my concerns. Jeff Bershad came to look at the install and agreed the installer needed to come back to cap the exposed wood, caulk and make some adjustments. While Mr. Bershad was there I explained that my interior door was still not closing properly. We had discussed this issue when he gave me the original estimate on May 25th. He suggested that changing the lock might fix the problem saving me the cost of a new door. It did not. The cost for the new interior door and install was to be $1,886.00. I gave him a deposit of $886.00. He ordered the door and agreed the security door issues would be addressed when the new front door was installed. At this point, I had no reason to doubt his recommendation or his word. On August 10, 2015, the same installers that had previously installed the security door arrived. They arrived without the new front door or any knowledge of the issues with the security door. They called Mr. Bershad and were told to just cap the wood and that the new front door was in the office. While one of the two installers went to pick up the new door the other began preparing the entryway for the new front door. It was at this point we realized Mr. Bershad had ordered a replacement door rather than a new construction door with an extended jamb. Additionally, the replacement door opening would be 1" smaller than the original opening. The reduced door opening creates a major issue with getting furniture in and out of the house and was never mentioned by Mr. Bershad. Additionally, the installer also told me the replacement door would not fix the issue with front door or address the issues with the security door install. He suspected the wood frame under the door was warped. With the replacement door Mr. Bershad ordered the wood frame would not be replaced only capped. The installer advised against installing the replacement door and suggested a new construction door with an extended jamb. I had informed Mr. Bershad of a roof leak over the entryway which had been repaired. I asked the installer to hold off until I could discuss next steps with Mr. Bershad. When Mr. Bershad first surveyed my front door he repeatedly referred to the install of my current front door as being a "Home Depot" job (inferring that it was an inferior install), well the installers he sent told me they do all Home Depot installs in my neighborhood! The job the original installers did, in my opinion, was a much better job. For many years I had no issues with my current front door until I had the leak in the entryway roof. After some telephone tag Mr. Bershad called and after hearing what his installers told me, along with their suggestions and that I decided against the replacement door he got annoyed. He told me the new construction door would cost me more money. In no conversation with Mr. Bershad did I ever mention that money was a constraint. I told him I wanted the job done properly and I didn't want to have to think about it again. I relied on his experience as a contractor to correctly identify the issue and make the appropriate recommendations. He should have informed me of the pros and cons of both the replacement and new construction doors along with the associated costs. Mr. Bershad said he was going to stop by later that day to discuss. We waited all day and Mr. Bershad never showed up and never called to say he was delayed. He called me two days later and left a message asking what I wanted to do. At that point I was no longer interested in doing business with J & B. I called him back and left a message stating I was no longer interested in doing business with him and would he please return my $886.00 deposit. Until a month ago, I called his office weekly asking for him to contact me. As a result I'm on a first name basis with his receptionist, who tells me "I don't understand why he's not getting back to you...I give him your messages". I remain baffled by this incredibly unprofessional behavior. I am forced to file a small claims law suit against J & B Home Improvements for the refund of my $886.00 deposit. read more

Super happy with my new siding. They were quick, efficient and honest. They did a job at my home that no other siding company would take on and they didn't pull any punches. They came with the siding and installed and cleaned up and the siding they installed was done properly. I say for anyone looking for a decent siding company, they will do a great job. They gave me exactly what I wanted and took the time to make sure it was done correctly at a cost effective reasonable price. I had spoken with 10 other companies prior to hiring J&B and all of the other companies kept increasing their prices as we tried to move forward. The company is mediocre at best. I am sure that they have had many successful jobs however, that is not the case for me. They installed a beautiful door but the wrong caulking was used and it was so sloppy all they had to do was smooth it out with their finger. I will have to redo it. J. Scott told me several times he was going to come by to fix it. it has been months. The security door was installed in a way that i am not able to put the key in on the inside of the door to unlock it from the inside. He told me that thays how it is because of my door frame. It would have been nice to know prior to installation. This is their profession it literraly feels like a fly by night company. The repair work was sloppy at best.the same issues are reoccurring. I am not telling you to not use them, I am stating that I will not use them for future projects. read more

After having work done 3 years ago, a hole developed in my siding. A job they performed. They also replaced my roof. After numerous phone calls, their office was completely unresponsive. I just had my roof done by J&B last week. They did a very good and professional job. The staffs work very hard and efficiently and the business owner Jeffrey is a very nice and generous gentleman. He did put some aluminum sheet and one gutter on our garage as well as some gutter guard on our roof for free. My home was in extreme disrepair with leaky roofs, squirrels, old siding and I finally decided to take the plunge and have it fixed before the winter hit. I walked around the neighborhood looking at roofs and saw signs from various companies. I knocked on some doors and spoke with homeowners and they were basically satisfied with two of the most seen signs (JB or JC) Home Improvements. I contacted at least 4 companies before calling these two so that I could become versed in how they worked (also I wanted to hold on to the money...lol). I called JC 1st and got a quote...pretty high then I called JB Home Improvements and alluded to the price I was given by the former contractor and he gave me his price which was more work at almost the same price. I then tried to play one against the other but JC lowered but seemed very upset and told me so (big warning) I gave him another chance to raise his price (as I felt I was being unfair and I wanted a happy job done) He wasn't budging. When I called JB back to negotiate he went down a little but said this is bottom and sold me on value and customer recommendations. I went with JB Home Improvements with the higher price because a lot of times the cheapest is the most expensive in the long run. (I have a career in sales and I always sold value because cheaper is always nearby). When they came by JB brought an army of people with him and covered my neighbor's home with tarp so as not to cause damage. They covered my shared driveway for easy clean up and then they proceeded to complete the job in record time. My neighbors were amazed by their attention to detail, clean up and the professionalism of the job. Were there a few challenges? Of course nothing is perfect however Jeffrey was around or available to rectify the situation. In conclusion, remember how bad my house was...well, It was finished in 2 days roofing (3 roofs), siding and garage roof in late November 2014. I waited until April 2015 to give my review. I would like to report there were no leaks on any of my roofs and because of the new siding; it was our warmest winter since moving in. I attached a few pics to show how it progressed. I had a new flat roof done by J & B Home improvement 8 months ago and have serious problems and can't get the owner Jeff or the salesperson Ernie to return my calls. I called in a roofer to survey the roof and he said the roof didn't look like 8 months old it looked like 20 years old. He took pictures and I was sickened at what I say. Standing water in many areas of the roof, cracks, open holes around my skylights, back gutter higher than roof causing a pool of water to accumulate and when full runs off the roof down the side of the house. I am at my wits end as this is the 2nd flat roof if have had installed in 2-1/2 years. The first one done 2 years ago had problems (not as bad as I have now) called them and found that they went out of business. That's when I called J & B Home Improvement to ripe up and put a brand new flat roof on and have had more problems than before. These guys new I was out allot of money on the first roof which I had to borrow and now am out more money I didn't have. What I spent on the 2 roofs I could have bought a new car for. So now I have these problems and can't get anyone to call me back and need to get this roof fixed asap as it it causing more damage with every storm and I don't have any more resources. I don't know how they can put their head on the pillow each night knowing what they did and will not make good on it. read more
