The bacon egg and cheese bagels are delicious, and the cheeseburger and French fries are amazing, along with their crispy onion rings. The service is always phenomenal, and the food comes out quick. I haven't had much of their dinner menu since I'm not a fan of broiled seafood, but the paninis are great! I would be interested in trying some of their other items like the salads, melts, and a couple entrees, but not gotten around to it because the breakfast is the best here, and all day! The breakfast combo is my go to all the time; it's a great deal and soooo much food! Hot cakes OR French toast, 2 eggs any way, 2 slices of bacon, and 2 sausage links. My friends have liked their omelettes too, although I haven't tried any of them. Check their Facebook before you go - they often post their daily specials, and update hours if they are short staffed that day so you can make sure it's open. read more

Went here on a whim, as we were looking for a late lunch on a Saturday and we wanted to support a local business. I wasn't sure where to park so I parked on the street out front, but then later learned there is a small lot behind back. Worst case, you can turn down the back alley and pass the parking lot to park back behind the fire station potentially? Regardless, the inside is country kitsch, and it's a little bit worn around the edges, but our waitress was ruthlessly efficient and polite, portion sizes were huge, our drinks were constantly refilled, and the food was delicious. We were really blown away. We did not expect this at all. But it's high quality food, which you don't always expect in a small town or a locally owned restaurant like this. We are looking forward to returning, as well as taking other family members. read more

Very fast service and big selection of entrees, and a generous all day breakfast menu. Pretty decent prices as it only cost $21 for two meals both with large drinks. The parking lot isn't the best, but it's better than street parking. Went on a Saturday morning and the restaurant was about half filled, but wasn't noisey at all. Thought we'd give J&B's Grill a chance for lunch on a Tuesday around noon. As suspected, it wasn't very busy and we were seated immediately. Before we begin: First, the parking is limited. There is some parking in a rear lot and some street parking. It could be a problem on a weekend, so be prepared. Secondly, and this has no affect on the overall rating, the exterior landscaping needs some serious attention. The unkept flowerbeds could make some folks (like me) turn around and leave. My opinion is that everything should be in tip top shape - inside and out. But I wanted to give this place a try based on Yelp reviews and I didn't plan on eating amongst the landscaping. The dining area is small and a bit worn, but the folks were nice and I'm not going to judge until it's time to judge. The menu is extensive and the best part - breakfast is served all day. My mom ordered an omelet and she said it was good. I ordered a cheeseburger sub. It came with fries and a small side of coleslaw, but again, it was good. It could have used a little more meat, but not a deal breaker. My wife got some sort of chicken/cheese sub and remarked about how delicious the chicken was - juicy and tender. Service was prompt and it's obvious this is a small time family-owned diner, which is perfect for Shrewsbury. You feel like you're eating at home- comfortable. They'll do what they can to accommodate. Don't come here if you're an uptight foodie looking for avocado toast - ain't their thang. Visit J&B's if you want good food served in your aunt's kitchen. You're in Shrewsbury folks, not Philly, so lighten up and enjoy. read more

My daughter and I do our best to support small businesses like this one. We had been wanting to stop in and finally made it happen - food was amazing. Reasonably priced and large serving sizes. She had "the best cheeseburger" while I thoroughly enjoyed an over-sized open-faced Reuben. Loved the quaintness of the atmosphere. Very clean. Staff was super friendly and always checking in to see how we were. Can't wait to return in the very near future. Parking in the gravel lot around back is easier than street parking. read more

Food was cold when it came out, my husbands fried chicken was most definitely Banquet chicken, and still frozen on the outside! He also found a hair in his salad..my panini was cold, and the roast beef was flavorless....So sad too some nice the atmosphere was so cute, we honestly hoped it would be a cute place for breakfast with our boys. My family and I have dinner here every Thursday. Everything we have tried has been wonderful and tasty. The cole slaw is freshly made daily. Thursday is usually their crab cake special. So yummy. I tried their honey dipped chicken the other night and it was the best. They give you a half a chicken. Needless to say I had leftovers and it made breakfast the next morning extra special. This is a family owned place and they make you feel like family when you come to enjoy their fabulous food. And they carry my favorite decaf hot tea brand and will make a fresh pot of decaf coffee for our son upon request. They're the best! read more

My wife and I live nearby but travel so much that we rarely eat out locally. We spent the afternoon at the Amish market looking at furniture (best craftsmanship around) and decided to give J&B's a try. We immediately realized what we've been missing! Large menu with choices for everyone! I settled on the Special Melt, and asked for Swiss instead of mozzarella cheese. Delicious, large portion with wonderful fresh cut fries! My wife ordered the French Dip, which she described as ultimate comfort food. Meal for two was under $20, which is a big plus. Great service! So happy to have this place nearby. If you're from out of town and looking for a meal, this is an excellent choice, especially if you want to avoid the fast food places. We are already planning our return when we have friends in town in a few weeks. Probably bring them here for breakfast! read more

Then whoever the jerk in the kitchen is that is yelling at people if it's the owner might as well shut up shop. You don't do that you need to learn how to talk to people and address the concerns and not yell so everyone can hear you disrespectful! Had trouble deciding between Gyro Panini, Patty Melt, and Crab Cake Sandwich. The owner of the restaurant was circulating through dining room. I asked her what she recommended and she said crab cakes without hesitation. Ordered the broiled crab cake. Wonderful choice. Jumbo lump with little filler and nicely seasoned. Food is basic diner fare, but is always good. We've been here several times for breakfast or lunch. Omelets are good, burgers, chicken tenders, and pancakes are recommended by our family and extended family. Service has been good the few times we've been there. the parking lot is a little small, but you can also park in the big lot behind the firehall which is behind the building. The only negative thing is that the last time we were there (August 2016), the chef was yelling loudly at someone in the kitchen. It made for a rather unpleasant experience, but we hope it was just a fluke that day. We will likely go back, but if we hear yelling again, that will be the end for us. read more

On North Main St. in the old Peppercorn's, the restaurant is nicely decorated and comfortable. The service was attentive and the cook came out to ask for feedback. The menu is extensive, mostly standard pub food out of the freezer and into a deep fryer or from the fridge and assembled for the diner. There was little to suggest that there is much in the way of original cooking going on. However, what we had was well prepared and well presented. Hopefully, with some time there will be some more original cooking. In the meantime, it is the kind of safe, standard restaurant which can be found almost anywhere. read more

The food is alright, but the service was awful. Our waitress was rude and tired, probably from the children she had with her. I find it completely inappropriate to have children at a restaurant. "Family restaurant" or not. The chef was yelling, and the owner seemed to be completely unfazed. I don't know what circus they are performing in there, but I will never go again. The atmosphere was awkward and tense. No one could believe the shouting or the attitude. The food is nothing special, and I am surprised they are still open. read more

Went to this new restaurant which opened up on main street in Shrewsbury and was pleasantly surprised. They offer breakfast all day !!! They had a very extensive menu , the food was prepared well and in reasonable time . Our waitress was very sweet and attentive . One suggestion to the owner: my friend asked for some extras with her breakfast sandwich(egg), one item was tomato and I cant recall the other , she was charged an extra $1.85. In order to get customers to start coming in try not to nickel and dime them. Other than that we will return and as another review said we hope that as opposed to such an extensive menu they will have some more specialized items. read more
