One company came out and told me needed to replace the "box" and clean the ducts for $3800, however there's no way the box can be replaced without tearing open walls. My husband and I have suffered a lot with allergies and inflammatory issues over these past few months. Ori and his partner came out and discovered we had black mold in our vents and ducts. They cleaned them out and put disinfectant for the mold and took pictures of everything. I couldn't believe we've been living with that! He told us that our air ducts were dirty and that we needed them cleaned. He spent an hour cleaning our main HVAC unit, cleaning one air intake vent, and spraying a solution that smelled like Campho Phenique in our unit. He kept trying to upsell us on other things. He ended up charging us $700! When he left my husband looked at the other intake vent which was filthy: he vacuumed it himself. We called Jacob, who I guess is the owner of the company (he never told me who he was). Jacob said that he would mail us a check for $150 in a few days because of our experience with the technician. It has been over three weeks and numerous phone calls and we still haven't received the check.
