I had chipped my front tooth the evening before and this Dentist took me in as soon as possible. Immediately you can see the teamwork and comradorie in this dentist office. Rebecca the Dental Assistant was awesome and had me prepped for my procedure quickly. Rebecca and Dr.Carillo worked in sync and I can see the care the Dentist had for me and her fellow worker. These people had a "working" lunch and locked their patients out of the office in 102° heat while the dentist was on vacation. I was also told that they expected payment upfront for the cleaning because they didn't have pre-authorization they did not offer me a payment plan. I would never go to this office if I were you.

My appointment was to determine why I was experiencing a rough surface on my upper right tooth. Dr. Purdy immediately determined one of my crowns needed to be replaced. Two days later I had the complete process completed in one appointment. Dr. Purdy and his clinical assistant were very conscientious in performing the dental procedure and built a rock-solid crown that needed no adjustments in the time immediately after the appointment. Dr. Purdy was serious about his work while still interjecting some humor since I am a person who while placing high value on the quality of my dental care still enjoys making any experience enjoyable. I highly recommend Dr. Purdy to new patients and I still highly recommend Dr. Icely as a valued dental care provider. In addition, all other dental professionals in the office are top-notch in their work with patients. Catalina Foothills Family Dental uses advanced dental technology in their office allowing on-site construction of dental crowns (normally a patient might have to wait 10 days for sending the work request to a dental lab) but thanks to CFFD's innovative practice, I reaped the benefits.

He is patient and explains things very well. He is caring and considerate when working on my teeth. I've had checkups, cleaning, crowns, a dental implant and a bridge done there. They have an emergency number if you have a problem over the weekend or when they are closed. They aren't afraid to refer you for care if you need something they don't do. I'm typically seen within a few minutes of arrival. I'm very happy with the service I've had there.

You always get taken in exactly when your appointment starts, not 15 after like most places. All of the techs are professional and friendly. They have great "bedside" manner too. If they have to bug you about something (always flossing for me), they let you know it's important without being a drag. Dr. Gerken is fast, efficient, professional, and gentle. He always manages to hit that critical dose of novocaine where the work doesn't hurt, but you're not drooling for the rest of the day. That's a tough target, but he gets it every time. He makes sure that your teeth are in perfect condition, but I never felt like he was trying to "push" products on me, as so many chain dentists do. I used to live nearby, but now I live by the U of A and downtown. Doesn't matter, the drive is worth it to go to a dentist of this caliber. I highly recommend!

I told her I could come another day if he was in a rush. She said d he had time. He gave me the option of numbing (never happened in my life). He referenced the time it would take to work (that's should've have been my second red flag. He put the crown on with no numbing ( I agreed cause I felt rushed and surely he would hurt me on purpose, right?!?). WRONG! It was some of the worse pain I've experienced in my life!! And he was frustrated and impatient when I clenched my teeth in pain and he couldn't continue his word speedily.
