We ultimately switched practices after my daughter had a dental emergency during a week the office was closed for a staff retreat, leaving us scrambling to find another dentist. In hindsight, that ended up being a blessing. One of my biggest concerns was my oldest daughter's underbite. At multiple appointments, I brought it up and was repeatedly told to wait and see. After switching dentists, she was immediately referred to an orthodontist, where we learned she has complex jaw issues that should have been evaluated much sooner. As a parent, it was frustrating to realize that concerns I'd been raising for years weren't taken more seriously. My younger daughter was never told she had any significant dental concerns while at Rockside. At her first visit with our new dentist, several cavities and other dental work were identified. It's certainly possible some of that developed between visits, but given our overall experience, it left me questioning whether things had been missed. I also had a chipped tooth repaired at Rockside in 2023. When the dentist asked if it felt right after the repair, I told him three separate times that it didn't. Each time, I was reassured that it only felt strange because I wasn't used to it. Within a year, the filling came off while I was simply moving my tongue against it. For comparison, I had another chipped tooth repaired nearly 20 years ago that has never given me a single problem. After all of these experiences, we've lost confidence in the care we received and have found a dentist who has been much more thorough and proactive. I wish we had made the switch sooner.

This practice has figured out what other dental offices have not: treat people with kindness, quality, and positive encouragement and they'll keep coming back! I had a horrible experience with Dr Bunch, however. Sub-par work, zero chairside manner and made many unprofessional comments about other patients in front of me. Not interested in hearing your commentary on some rando's sinus size, doc. So just make sure you don't end up with her and you'll be good. Dr Storey and her staff are a rare find. If you're nervous because it's been a while since you've been to a dentist, or you don't floss as much as you should, don't be shy. You won't be lectured - you'll be encouraged, and that will help you build a relationship and get you on a path to dental health!
