My son (10yrs) and myself have fully enjoyed our first visit for breakfast and will be returning with his Papa soon. We are a breakfast family and enjoy a good omelet, corn beef hash, or eggs Benedict. Service was friendly and quick. Food was hot and more than we could finish!! Craft of coffee on the table!! Went here for the first time Sunday morning and it was really good. Could of used some extra ingredients on some menu items. Sour cream would be good with the skillet. I have been here a few times and it is getting progressively worse. Had to ask who our server was after no service for ten minutes (plenty of servers around). The person we asked took our drink order, which did not include lemon with water (as requested) and coffee came without cream (not offered). We each ordered Eggs Benedict and all the eggs were cooked hard boiled. Potatoes and a side of bacon underdone. Cheese in grits tastes like kraft american. Quality of food, attention to detail and focus on service (including teamwork) are all missing, especially for the cost charged. Not going back. read more

Wouldn't go here again even if the food was free. The service was horrible. Stood waiting to be seated forever, then again for service. Our server did not check on us or provide basics such as butter for English muffin. We used to enjoy coming here and originally gave 5 stars but our past couple visits have been less than desirable. The food seems bland and comes out luke warm. The potatoes were room temp and hard like they had been sitting out for awhile, not fresh. Sausage was like rubber. I asked for ketchup and was told they were out. She comes by later with a bottle she had found but it was rotten! Our waitress this visit was dirty(her apron and uniform looked like she hadn't washed it for a few shifts) and never came by to refill drinks or give the check. Looks like our experience is counter to other reviews. It's an attractive restaurant with an impressively scripted menu and very average food and service. Both my wife and I had warm meals, coffee served without cream, biscuits without butter. Small things, but we had to track servers down for service . I'd give the place about 6 more months. Dined on a Saturday morning at approximately 10:30. Quickly seated, good service, nice decor, but Wayyyyy overpriced for a basic breakfast. Dropped $20+tip for my 5-year-old and I to eat. Kid's meal with an orange juice is nearly $9.00. I had a basic breaskfast: two eggs, two strips bacon, english muffin and some potatoes that appeared and tasted as though they came from the microwave. Kid's French Toast was good. With the exception of the potatoes, the food is not bad, just not worth the price. I guess you are paying for a better setting than Waffle House or IHOP, but it's not worth it to me. read more

Our service was wonderful. Wish I could remember his name, but he was a UGA student who has about to graduate. Very polite young man. Atmosphere was good and food was okay EXCEPT when I asked for a tablespoon of salsa for my quesadillas I was told there would be an additional charge. What? Charging extra for salsa when it should have been an automatic. Furthermore, the manager seemed very indifferent when I expressed my concern. He shrugged his shoulders and wouldn't take my simple advice as to how to get a repeat customer. I told him that I frequently dined out and that I lived less than 5 minutes from the restaurant. The poem on the sign at the entrance was subpar. Hunter Straw is possibly the greatest server that has ever helped me in my entire life. The food was splendid. One employee began to sing along with the music during my meal, which was probably the highlight of my visit. I was quite disappointed when his/her coworkers demanded that he/she stop. Someone needs to give that man/woman a record deal. The busboys blew me away with their dedicated service. Overall a solid trip and I am very satisfied with my decision to eat here. read more

Was going to eat at Hamilton Mill J Christophers- checked their Georgia Health Dept inspection score- 59 (U) inspected on 7/26/2017. I walked out. I looked up the inspection on line as I dont think I have ever seen a score that low before in a restaurant I eat at . Some repeat violations. Reading thru that was kinda scary. What really upsets me is I could have eaten there this morning and the things I read about in the inspection could have happened to my meal if the inspection didnt happen yesterday. Really upset as I like this place for breakfast and there is no where around here really to go to (I am not a fast food nor waffle house type)-bummer. We were seated and then waited ten minutes without a server coming to take our drink order. Three different servers walked by our table and never acknowledged our presence. So we left and came to Waffle House. We've eaten at J. Christopher's a few times before and had problems with service. The food is okay...not exceptional. I have always heard this was a great breakfast place. Truthfully, it's way way overpriced. $58.00 for 3 adults and a 1 1/2 year old. 3.50 for 3 slices if tomatoes !! $4.00 for a tiny bowl of fruit. Food was barely warm. Took a long time to come out. Blueberry crunch cakes are good but all else just fair. I could cook the same pancakes and eggs at home. Potatoes are dried out at best. The food is great. I have never had an issue with anything I have ever ordered and I try something new every time I come. However the loss of stars is due to the service. It's very hit or miss. Mainly getting served by teenagers who can't multitask. This is the third time that we have tried breakfast here and all 3 times my utensils have been dirty and this morning the girl even poured coffee into a very dirty coffee cup. The cup was so dirty it had stuff floating in my coffee cup. I think I am over this place. My wife and I went for brunch after church. There was a good crowd, but we were seated almost immediately. We had pancakes, eggs, bacon and diced potatoes. The food was very good, I rate a 4. However, our server, Jordan, was excellent. She was very attentive and quick, anticipating our needs. She is a real asset and excellent ambassador for the restaurant. I only give three stars and think even that's generous but it is because the staff were attentive and nice. The food is another story. It was cold and way over priced considering it was just a strawberry waffle for $8.79. I also ordered a side of sausage and it was close to rubber. The manager was cool about swapping out for some bacon but even that was greasy and cold. I mean who likes cold bacon fat on their bacon? Won't be back. Waffle House is a better bargain. read more

Had breakfast/brunch here Saturday Jan 17. Paid $15 w tip for totally lack luster 3 egg omelet that boasted caramelized onions and roast beef on the menu - not so much! Onions were sort of steamed and there was zero roast beef in the omelet. it came with some tired, hard little knots that should have been hash browns but could have been used in a slingshot - unbelieveable. Oh, and I forgot, a store bought warmed up english muffin. I could have bought grroceries for a week for the cost of this one sorry meal. Many young people running around serving - ad managing - who have no idea waht a caramelized onion should look like, much less taste like. The manager appeared to be about 20 and was more interested in prancing and bossing than conerning himself with customer's food.l I WOULD NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE! I'm in love with this place. It has a wonderful atmosphere, the staff is super friendly and displays excellent teamwork. Servers that weren't even assigned to my table asked if I had everything I needed and made sure I was happy. I order the spinach and bacon skillet and substitute maple toast religiously and it always comes out perfectly. Fast and friendly service, along with delicious food, makes this place the perfect brunch restaurant and I'm so glad we have a place like this in Hamilton Mill. Sundays are always busy so I recommend coming in before 9:30. I highly recommend trying this place out if you haven't! read more

We reserved the party room and when our party of 14 got there we walked into a room with a dirty table cloth and dirty floors after of course waiting 25 minutes to even enter the dirty room. I was told by the hostess that they "don't have any clean table cloths and didn't expect the party before us to make such a mess of them". They suggested we just take the table cloth off all together however; the tables were folding tables that were old and not even when lined up together. We were also told that they didn't have a vacuum cleaner in the restaraunt but would attempt to sweep up the dirty floors (it was carpeted). The sink area behind our table had dirty cups, plates, silverware and the dirty table cloth they took off was set there. The hostess was very appologetic and nice. The manager was in the restaraunt, which was not very busy and never even came by to appologize. After asking for him a few times we were told he was too busy and the hostess would be glad to relay a message. We weren't offered a discount on our check, free coffee...nothing. Not to mention the food is sub par. Honestly, I'd rather eat at waffle house. If it wasn't Christmas eve and we didn't have 14 people we would have left immediately. read more
