Located on Town Center Drive in a shopping center featuring a few other restaurants and shops, located adjacent to the mall is this location of J Christopher's. I must preface my review by stating that my visit to here was a corporate breakfast, so our experience may be a tad different given that! I will say that the team at this location was very helpful and accommodating with our group from the initial call to set everything up. We ended up having about 12 people and were able to secure the room at the front of the place for our group. Upon arrival, we were greeted and service was started pretty quickly. We had two waitresses responsible for our party and they both did a great job! Food wise I ordered the California style omelet that featured chicken, guacamole, cheese and pico. It was sided with grits and a biscuit. The omelet itself was decently tasty, however uneven in the distribution of guacamole, only half the omelet seemed to have it. The biscuit looked fluffy and apparently tasted good (I gave it away) and the grits were good as well. I will say that I am glad I made the choice to get grits instead of potatoes, as many people in our group who opted for potatoes were sadly disappointed due to them being hard and apparently not too fresh. Overall, all the other dishes that the team got from skillets, biscuit and gravy to waffles were all well liked. I'd say if I were in the area and looking for a decent breakfast/brunch spot, I would certainly come to this location! This is more of a 3.5 than a 4, but the waitress (Hannah M) was very friendly and so it gets the bump up vs down. The blueberry crunch cakes were the best thing that we ordered, and the only downside was that there was too much to eat -- if you call that a downside!! The crunch was a tasty treat and def something to make sure you order. The strawberry crepes were a hit/miss but that could be my fault. The crepes themselves were delicious but (for some reason) I anticipated the strawberry aspect to be more of a compote versus fresh strawberry chunks. Not having flavored syrup (or as a compote) didn't help cuz with maple syrup the whole was a miss because it was dry (without syrup or compote) or misflavored (with syrup). The rest was pretty status quo: cinnamon roll, bacon, coffee pretty hard to get right or wrong. Checked the box. We support local and will certainly be back because there looked like 50 other tasty options on the menu and a bunch of Benedict's that I want to try. read more

We visited on a cold Saturday morning. There were only a few tables taken and we were seated immediately. The waitress was pleasant and brought coffee in a urn, which I wish more restaurants would do. I like my coffee hot and it kept it that way. We both ordered omelettes with home fries which were very good and made with fresh ingredients. My only knock is the blueberry crunch pancakes. Fresh blueberries were good but the granola crunch was significantly lacking. Only a few granola sprinkled on top. I've never had a meal that I didn't like at J Christopher's. that being said, I've never had a meal that blew me away with flavor. J Christopher's is very good at being a run-of-the-mill breakfast place. You will typically find that you have to wait to be seated (especially if it's on a Sunday because it's very popular as an after church eating spot). The service is good, the location is easy to get to and has lots of parking, the building is clean, but t the food (while good) is a bit underwhelming. Aside from the seasonal items there should any much creative liberty taken with the menu, but since this restaurant is part of a chain they might not be allowed to change anything. The turtle latte is good but tastes similar to a hot chocolate with how sweet it is. The coffee tends to be on the weak side. The eggs Benedict is pretty good (I always ask for more hollandaise) and is my usual go-to breakfast dish. The pancakes are fluffy and they do have the option of getting real maple syrup (same for the Belgium waffle). Their omelette dare pretty good but could use some more cheese. All in all, this is a consistent breakfast place that serves pretty good food. If you're in the mood for a great breakfast then it probably wouldn't be your first or second choice but serves as a good fail-safe if none of the better places work out. read more

There's a reason this restaurant has only three stars; it's the food! This morning I had soft cook scrambled eggs and grits and my partner had two fried eggs, sausage, potatoes and English muffin. If you ask for soft-cooked scrambled eggs, you end up with raw egg and overcooked curds. Not exactly what I had in mind when I said soft cooked- I was thinking more of a custard like affair. On the other hand the cheddar grits were very good and I enjoyed them immensely. My partner's potatoes were very good; the fried eggs which were cooked over medium we're also good. The sausage is ve-y and hot peppered. The first cup of coffee tasted a bit like the bottom of the pot, however, the smileless waitperson replaced the coffee and all was well. Don't think I'll go back any time soon. First Watch is my new go-to. Prices are comparable but menus and cooks are vastly different. read more

Went to J Christopher's today, we've been dozens of times and it's always been ok. We got in and sat at 12:30PM, it took 11 minutes for anyone to even come by the table to at least speak to us and 15 minutes for a drink order to be taken. I ordered the traditional with a pancake instead of an English muffin and my wife ordered the Bubba, all the food was lukewarm with the exception of the eggs. In the Yelp rating system, 3 Stars means "A-OK." That is a good description of J Christopher's: a good, solid A-OK. The restaurant is colorful, open, and cheerful. I like the layout. However, I was there pretty early and only a few tables had guests. Other reviewers have said the restaurant is loud when it is full: I am sure they are right. I liked my server; she was very attentive and quick. The menu has the usual offerings (e.g., bacon and eggs), but also has some twists (e.g., a lox plate, skillets). The coffee was very good and hot. However, my coffee cup was sticky and had crumbs on it (a minus). I ordered Eggs Benedict. The eggs were done perfectly (a major plus). The Hollandaise sauce was average. The English muffin was a bit burnt (a minor minus). In spite of the problems, J Christopher's is definitely "A-OK." Quite a disappointing experience. I had been to this restaurant as a kid and had eaten an excellent meal. Today, as an adult, I found myself in Kennesaw and hungry. Naturally, my mind went to J. Christopher's. I ordered Irish style oatmeal and their signature chocolate chip pancakes (to go, since the Delta variant is rating at the time of writing). My mom also got their oatmeal. Their oatmeal allegedly contained brown sugar and oatmeal, but I found maybe 2 raisins in my oatmeal before I went in to request some more, which they kindly gave me. I also requested more brown sugar, since the oatmeal was extremely bland. The famous chocolate chip pancakes that I came for in the first place were not at all fluffy, but seemed dry. The toast that came with the oatmeal seemed stale. The staff were not wearing masks. Overall, it was a less than mediocre experience and I left disappointed and still a bit hungry... read more

Their turkey sausage and bacon are delicious . You can tell they truly take their time in their hiring process and don't just hire anyone looking for a job . Nothing too special, but it was good. The veggies tasted fresh, unlike other breakfast restaurants. The menu has a variety of items including a variety of gluten free, vegetarian, and Atkins diet options. I thought that was pretty neat that they find way to cater to different preferences/needs. The place itself is clean and I felt really comfortable eating there. If you're eating there by yourself it's not that expensive, yet for a big family it may be a little on the expensive side.
