The staff is very rude, I was a regular there for about 3 months & we had 1 good waiter the entire time. Every time i've entered their staff ignores me(22) until the other member of my party approaches the podium (which I find to be very disrespectful) and even then we are ignored for quite a while. Even when it's slow it takes a very long time to get a waitress to our table. Do not waist you're time at this location with rude staff. Head on down to the j christopher's on roswell road. Friendly, but slow servers and clueless food runners. Negatives: service forgot us! Took 10 min to get check. Friendly and fast on order, but slow. The food runners and table cleaners are many, but one had no idea how to find a hot sauce and the other looked lost when I asked for check. Manager needs to train ALL service personnel to be customer-focused. Eggs were bland, but food seemed much healthier than a chain. - Fruit: when you only serve melons, grapes and Pineapple... that's a sign of laziness. No berries? Grapefruit juice seemed to be from a can. Specialize in breakfast? Fresh juice is part of the game. That said, we would return because it's a dependable breakfast spot. My girlfriend and I tried this place for the first time. Being new to georgia we didn't know where to eat so we tried J Christopher's out. Honestly it was pretty good food at about average price. We both had the Just Bubbas'. Which is scrambled eggs with cheese, oven fried potatoes, and biscuits with sausage gravy. The portion was just right, as well as very tasty. Service is mostly prompt and attentive and ambience is friendly. It winds up being about a $50 breakfast for four adults. My philosophy is that, at a restaurant, if you order a hot dish, when the dish arrives at the table, there should be visible steam you can see rising off the food. Or at least heat you can feel, just above the food. The last two times I have visited, I have had one or more items on my plate arrive cold or just warmed over to take the chill out when they reached me. Neither time was it crowded. I hate sending things back; it disrupts the enjoying your company when you are eating and they are not, or vice versa. I was here with Mr. D on a Thursday morning in late April (2014) and my hash browns (more like cottage fries) were cold. Restaurant was less than one-third full, so they weren't short-handed. I felt silly sending them back because I was only intending to eat a few anyway, so I didn't. It was a fluke, I assumed. (Wrong!) We were also here Mother's day morning this year with Misses G and L (early, around 8:30 a.m.--most customers had not shown up yet so dining room was less than 20% full) and every item in my two-egg traditional breakfast was cold. My toasted English muffin wasn't warm enough to melt the butter I had immediately spread over it. Of course, the second time wasn't a fluke, and when I got up and asked another waitress (by then our waiter was out of sight, where he mostly stayed) they cheerfully warmed my plate. When business is this slow, waitstaff should remain in sight of their sections, so if anything is needed, they can be told directly. His "follow-up drop by" happened not to take place until my warmed plate was coming back out. On the same Mother's Day, my sister-in-law (Miss L) asked for her tea water to be served "almost boiling," and she acknowledged that this was probably an unusual request. This took two tries, and was not as warm as she asked for but she chose not to ask for this a third time. This lack of attention to detail is is unacceptable at this price point. If management believes that people will come just because they are in a great location and serve just wonderful food--well, think again. The only way to screw up breakfast is to burn it or serve it cold. Reminded me of a crappy hotel breakfast where they don't care about optimal presentation because they know you won't be back, anyway. I like their convenient location and enjoy the atmosphere but I don't intend to return. read more

I stopped in around brunch time and sat at the bar (Monday) Several members of the staff walked past me, but did not acknowledge that I was there (I was one of the two at the bar). The manager was even behind the bar and did not say anything. I've been in the industry and realize that sometimes things are hectic- however if you are the manager you should not ignore guest, nor should you have a rude attitude towards your guest. I asked her for a pen, which she grabbed as if it was a huge inconvenience, and handed it to me..... With zero communication when I asked to borrow the pen or when she gave it to me, not even a smile. Verrrryyy rude. Thankfully Karen was taking care of me, and will be the ONLY reason I will eat at this location again. Karen was attentive to not only me and her other guest but to all the staff- Karen's attitude and awareness to the guest, staff, and the entire operation is quite impressive. Honestly , she treats that restaurant like it was her very own, and it's hard to find good people like that. That blond manager should take notes of how Karen engages with the guest and staff because as I said- if Karen had not come to save the day, I would not be back. If your management doesn't want to be there and can't at least pretend to want to be there..... You should find a new one. read more

I hadn't been to J Christopher's in a while and a friend recommended it for brunch today. I had to wait a bit for my friend to arrive and they offered, several times, to either seat me or bring me something to drink. I politely declined, as I wanted to wait. When I saw my friend pull into the parking lot. two of the servers went to hold the doors for her. All that to say the service was efficient and friendly. I'm especially fond of the breakfast choices. Normally, I'll have pancakes but, this time, I had the crepes. I also like the sausage links are large and not the microwave, ready-to-eat type links I get at most places. The food and the service are great! read more

Had breakfast with a friend and her young son Friday morning. My first visit to a J. Christopher's. The staff was friendly and very nice. I had a skillet with eggs, ham and avocado and a side order of grits. The fruit bowl was fresh and coffee was excellent. They provided a carafe for the table, which is always appreciated. The staff was very friendly they all were Bright and cheerful! The food was wonderful we had the sausage and gravy skillet, turkey avocado skillet, blueberry crunch pancakes, and a waffle with fresh strawberries. All of it was fantastic! The place is clean and decorated nicely. The only downfall is that it is a little noisy. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely be back when in the area again. read more

Not impressed by the food. I ordered the eggs Benedict, which is a staple of every breakfast restaurant. But J. Christopher's messed it up. They served me the eggs sunny side up instead of poached like they're supposed to be. And I could barely see any hollandaise sauce. When I told the waiter who looks about 15 years old, he argued with me and told me that it was right. Also, the potatoes that came with it were puny, plain and un impressive. Waitress was very friendly and I tried to be as accommodating as possible since I came in about a half hour before closing. Unfortunately, the manager was making his rounds with the employees and seemed like a very overbearing and condescending boss. J. Christopher's really seems to have let itself go, in the general sense. There was nothing noteworthy to highlight, and your money could better be spent elsewhere. My husband ordered French toast. French toast that was listed at around $7.50. You can only imagine how taken back we were when the waiter delivered one lonely slice of bread down. It was not a market place or specialty bread, but rather more the looks of the buy one get one free loaf at the store. When I asked the waiter if the French toast generally comes with one slice of toast, he ashamedly answered in the affirmative. The only good part of the experience was the friendly waiter. We hold a weekly networking meeting with 20-25 people - the servers work pretty hard to take orders and distribute the food while we're all yakking away, and they usually get it right. While J. Christopher's has lots of traditional items on the menu (pancakes, corned-beef hash, biscuits and gravy), they also have a good selection of interesting heart-healthy breakfasts which are perfectly prepared. read more

I've been to other locations of J. Christopher's before and had a much better dining experience than I had here. The restaurant was busy and well staffed, and yet the service was slow. For breakfast foods, that's really inexcusable. It doesn't take that long to toast bread or plate hash browns, especially when they're clearly not fresh. I was disappointed in the lack of freshness all around...my mother ordered "fresh squeezed" grapefruit juice and received a bright pink liquid. Clearly a ccoktail. From walking in the door at 10a the host(ess) was not at her post and I along other customers stood waiting for her return. They were NOT busy. My waiter was very friendly and quick to the table. I ordered and my plate was on the table in two minutes. There is the problem. Food was ALL precooked. Eggs were dry. Potatoes were dry. Biscuit was hard. Bacon was clearly cooked hours before. While service was solid and the establishment was very clean, the food was mediocre and nothing to write home about. My husband had the pancake crunch dish with cheese eggs, bacon and grits. I had cheese eggs, breakfast potatoes and bacon. Based off what we ordered, if you're a foodie this is not the place for you. For example, the grits were straight out of the can with water added for the boil; that's it folks. This establishment is on par with (or really slightly worse than) IHOP. read more
