But I only have burgers a few times a year, so when I do, I'm going to demand one of these from now on.

I live in Golden and have from 2001 and it's your typical small town café, which is what I like about it. I read a few of the negative reviews and I think it's all about expectations. I grew up in the Dakotas in a farm community and these little cafes were a staple in every small town. It's like eating home cooked food without the mess and cleanup and at a very fair price. The staff are always 'good ole' people that are there just trying to make a buck or two but they're a family and they treat their customers like family. If you want top service, there's a 5 star restaurant in Golden, you'll pay for it. You'll also pay for the hospitality there too but at JC's it's genuine and free and so is the sarcasm you'll get from the waitresses. What I'm saying is this is your typical dive and if you're from the city, it will be an experience. Take it for what it's worth and enjoy! I'm a proud regular here :0) read more

We love everything about JC's. It's totally a greasy spoon with mostly short order breakfast items to boast on their menu. The local flair of Pleasant View shines through in the wall art (add your name to a peace candle) and the deep faith and patriotism of the co-owner husband/wife team, John and Chris is obvious in the unique decor. John creates a daily chalkboard art display of the specials and commemorates any national holidays. I always stick with eggs, bacon, hashbrowns (nice and crispy), and toast or pancakes. My husband and I have come to love the entire staff at our favorite cheap local breakfast joint. Other bkfts exist in Golden but aren't nearly the screamin' deal! JC's is a homey hole in the wall gem! It's like eating at home with your best family and friends. I'm assuming this place is a favorite among the locals because they definitely have regulars and they are as friendly as the staff. The food came out quick. We had big meals. Ordered mass confusion and the Paul bunyon. Large, delicious portions. Biscuits made fresh and are light and fluffy. The kids meals are $2!!
